I was looking for the perfect pigtails for a sim I'm making, and found your recolors of S-Club's Yosi on TSR. But when I tried to download them, it told me I needed to log in with a VIP subscription. I thought that was weird, since I never had that problem before when downloading your recolors. So I checked out your main page. I did not know about TSR pulling some bullshit, since I don't use it often. I don't have an account because I've never needed one. And the second I saw that you were leaving, I tried to follow your links. They are all outdated and dead ends. It was extremely hard to find you after that. The name change makes sense why all the links are dead. But they are also outdated on your pinned post here on Tumblr. I'll follow you here because I love your work. Nobody else has such brilliant and vibrant colors and rainbows in their hairs. I'm hoping your links get sorted out so I can follow you elsewhere as well. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

And if you ever repost the Yosi retexture, please let me know! Because there's no way in hell I'm signing up for TSR, much less paying for VIP when they've become such dirtbags.

Sorry for such an late response, normally I try to respond to people somewhat fast. But Since the stuff with TSR I have been on hiatus (which ended up being a bit longer than planned 😂)

Thank you for reminding me about my outdated links, I had totally forgotten about that, and ill make sure to update them soon 😊 I plan on starting to release content again soon. I'm currently working on fixing up some of my old content to give it some new (and much needed) life.

Some of my old content I will take with me, but, for my hair retextures, I will need to follow the Terms of Use for each original creator (can't be stepping on anyones toes ya know). And some creators only allow recolors to be uploaded to TSR. If I remember correctly. S-Club is one of those who only allow recolors of their work to be uploaded to TSR, so sadly its not much i can do about that. Although, i will make sure to double check creators Terms of Use and see what i can "take with me".

Announcement

I have an announcement for everyone. I was removed from the Featured Artist program without explanation on August 30, 2024, and I will no longer be uploading my creations to TSR permanently. All of my work will be re-uploaded on Patreon, where you can follow download it without ads or no need for a TSR VIP membership anymore. Some hairstyles will be modified and improved, and new creations will be available as Early Access in the future. I hope you will support and encourage me so I can continue to move forward with courage and strength.

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, I was deeply hurt by the email response from the new Artist Manager, Queenie. I feel that what she said is not true—she lied. She blamed me for not bringing enough traffic to the website and for not generating enough revenue for her company.

That’s not true. My download count is nearly 6 million since I started as a Featured Artist on January 14, 2022.

This photo proves that I was promoted to Featured Artist on January 14, 2022, and remained so until August 30, 2024. During this time, my downloads increased from 598,807 to 5,600,336.

Since then, she has removed a lot of creator though I won’t name them, but I am one of them, and it has deeply upset me. I feel hurt, as if I no longer have any value at TSR. Her final email to me broke my heart, and I can't trust her anymore. I can’t help but wonder how else she might act unfairly toward me. My time as a creator at TSR has come to a complete end, 100%.

And today, I had to summon all of my courage and strength to share my experience, at least this once. Over the course of about three years, I did achieve success as a Featured Artist at TSR, thanks to the previous Artist Manager. I also met wonderful friends who were kind and supportive. We shared great memories, especially during our collaborations. It’s heartbreaking that we have to part ways to pursue our own new paths, but I want to say that I love and respect everyone. No matter where I go, I will never forget the friends I shared this journey with.

I will not give up. I will continue to be Nilyn, creating and sharing my content so that everyone can enjoy it without any conditions. I need your support and encouragement. Thank you for always supporting my content and loving me. I will keep going forward with courage!

while I sympathise with all the artists that left, I loved downloading your cc.

This witch hunt to take down tsr is getting annoying. what tehy did was bad, yes. But preying for the downfall of tsr is not the way to go, what about all the other artists. You all claim it was like a family, but a lot of the fired artists are just wishing that the rest of teh family should be fired too.

I can not speak for every artist involved in this. I can only speak for myself. And I do not pray for the downfall of TSR. I am not religious in any way. (But just so its said, I do respect people who are religious, it's just not something for me) And personally I do not wish for the downfall of TSR. There is still a big part of my family left there working for the site, and for the Artists left there I wish they keep doing the work they like, provide the amazing quality content they have always made and do what they can to bring back the former glory TSR once had. And I know a lot of my fellow artists I have spoken with feels the same way. After all, we are one big family that's sadly been split up by poor management.

Personally, I will always be on the artists side, fired, left on their own or still working for TSR. In the end, that don't matter. They are still my family and I love and appreciate all the good times we had together💜 What I don't wish to be on the side of, is big corporates coming in, not knowing how to run a creative site and ruin it. And yes, I have been sharing my story along with other artists that got fired , to show the community how unfair a big chunk of us have been treated. What I wished for doing this, was to let the community know that the current management does not care for their artists like the former management did. And of course let my followers know where they will find my content in the future.

Goodbye The Sims Resource

As some of you already know, I will no longer be uploading my content to The Sims Resource. Sadly before the weekend I got an email saying "We regret to inform you that we have decided to remove your status as Featured Artist from the TSR Artist Program" I still do not know why this happened, as the email did not have any reason for it. This came out of the blue without any heads up beforehand or anything like that. I never saw it coming. So after being on TSR for 4 years, giving them my all, they threw me out like i was nothing together with 50 ish other loyal artists. We all got the same standarized "copy/paste" email.

It's sad to see a company I (and so many others) gave my all to for so long just throwing me out like this. But it is what it is.

So, there will be no new creations from me on TSR. If in the future anything breaks due to an game update or something, I will not be able to fix it and update my files. So consider my work there abandoned.

I will need some time to find out what to do next. But I will make sure to keep my socials updated so you all know whats going on.

It's a shame how such a good site as TSR used to be, can throw away amazing artists like we are nothing. It's cruel, and it for sure wont help with TSR's reputation in the community

Call To Action

Normally I try to mind my own business and Keep my Ps and Qs but seeing what is happening to people I speak with and people I adore, I will stand 10 toes down for them!

Recently, TSR has demoted atleast 70 artist in a fell swoop. These artist were given no warning, no explanation as to what happened, no opportunity to rectify their situation, all they got was a half baked standardised email.

What TSR does not realize is that there is power in the people. Many of the artist let go are staples of our community!! ThisIsThem, Remus, ShakeProductions, the list literally goes on. Understand that these artists had no pledge of exclusivity to TSR. They are not owned by TSR. They have paid for works that are uploaded there but not for everything the creator makes. Imagine working for a company loyally for 10+ years and then being fired without a word.

What they seem to not realize either is that they have now taken away many people's source of income. I know some believe creators shouldn't make income from CC but that is the whole point of TSR tbh. And now they are making it difficult for artist to remove their creations because its apparently abusive to other artist. So now they have fired many wonderful folks, put them out of jobs, but will continue to profit from them!!

This is my call to action for the simmers of the community I create for and adore. Support these creators elsewhere! I have canceled my TSR Vip and will no longer upload there. If others follow suit, it's what they deserve. They need to understand that TSR is nothing without its loyal artist and if they wish to act so carelessly, they need to see that we wont take it lying down!

As justified as their decision must have been, being kicked with a standardized e-mail tells a lot about how much they appreciated me as an artist. I'm looking back at good and bad times.

Announcement

I've been producing content on TSR since 2014. Also, I've been an FA for 7 years, and as of now they've removed my Feature Artist badge. :) For this reason, I will not upload content there and if there is any problem with my content there, I will not fix it. You can find my content on ModCollective and Patreon. I will care about these places now.

Adding to this, TSR decided to remove me too after being an artist for 4 years. Just as with Remussirion and other artists, I did not get any reason to why, just an standarized e-mail that looks like a copy/paste. It's a shame and its sad, but , it is what it is.

I am not sure where I will go yet. But I dont wish to stop creating content. I will probably make a new post with an update once i figure out where to go 😊 But there will from this day NOT be any more content from me on TSR
