Kingdom Hearts Mini-Theory
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usually, most character's DTTH have them in/near the center. Except for the ones with split hearts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ventus had his heart split by Xehanort, which created Vanitus. The only other DTTH that is similar to theirs, is Sora and Riku's, which could mean their hearts are split with each other somehow. They even have similar positions. I don't have too much evidence to back it up, but I think it's worth mentioning.

this single piece of dialogue spurred my autism so here are Org. 13 poker league headcanons.
(note this is after the castle oblivion group leaves for C.O., so im interpreting this as meaning half of the ppl in C.O. are half if the poker league)
members of the league:
luxord: runs the league
xigbar: there for shits and giggles, and to rile up some of the more prone to anger members
xaldin: tries really hard to win. has that kind of anger that builds up to the point where it feels like hes suddenly pissed so far off out of nowhere but its just been slowly rising the whole time
vexen: here to prove his intelligence. he sucks at poker. he usually rage-quits and leaves mid-game. the rest of the league prepares for this by making a different bracket ready for his inevitable hissy fit, without his knowledge
lexaeus: wins semi-occasionally, but mostly here for fun. hes incredibly calm as a result of his superior control of his anger, and doesnt get too invested. best pokerface of the league
larxene: wins very rarely, but always has the most biting trash talk and acts like shes the best at poker ever. gets sooo mad but it comes in waves and she never stews on things for long. definitely the loudest though. she also actively cheats almost every game
xion: VERY occasionally in the league. she stumbled upon the leagues secret game room during a game on accident, and xigbar thought it would be funny if she joined. she has zero idea how to play, but even so, once in a blue moon she wins by sheer luck, and despite everyones temperments, no one can help but be so taken aback and estatic at this statistical wonder every time. also i lied, SHE has the best pokerface (sorry lexaeus)
maybe ill add to this but this is all the autism i have for this rn

Can I just go off about this for a minute? Like, it cuts me to my core how @projectdestati incorporates character themes into relevant songs. This is my favorite so much because it's so subtle, but fits so perfectly.
This version of Treasured Memories solemnly incorporates Rikus theme in a way that is just so beautiful and perfect that it might outshine Rikus theme as a stand alone peice because if how much more weight it carries in the context of Treasured Memories.
It works because Treasured Memories is meant to play when Sora is reflecting on someone he misses- we see that mostly when he thinks of Riku.
We also know that Riku is a deep comfort and grounding presence in Soras life-- a constant in his most precious memories of childhood. We see this in Dream Drop where memories with him and Riku are featured most prominently in the Dive to Sora's sleeping heart.
Green Requiem has a phenomenal series on YouTube discussing the nuances of the KH Music, but I'd really love to do a mini series in the vein of @violethowler's Constructing Kingdoms series mixed with @tennelleflowers 's speculative video essays and @nikutsuneart 's Sleeping Realm theories.
I wonder how much foreshadowing we can uncover from the musically score alone... My music theory is shit, but I feel like there is a lot of hidden evidence to be uncovered and speculated upon regarding the series.

KH thoughts again, and I've been really favoring the idea of low empathy Demyx.
Generally speaking, low empathy is considered a sign of villainy in Kingdom Hearts, seeing how the Nobodies lack the empathy that comes with a Heart and that's apparently what makes them evil.
BUT that's stupid because low empathy people aren't more prone to evilness in reality. It's just dumb stereotyping.
Tbh, I think Saix is probably a big character for people pointing at and saying, "he lacks empathy" because of everything with Xion. BUT we have the revelation that he pounds down on Xion because he's worried that Axel will abandon him (and Subject X), which is pretty heavy signs of empathy-leaning thoughts.
His plan to atone would also mean nothing without having that inherent empathy related desires in the first place.
Saix is just an asshole, that's all.
So why low empathy Demyx, you may ask?
I just find it an interesting idea that a lot of his laziness and leaving his work to other people may count of him really not having big empathetic feelings to how they might feel about him not doing the work. Like why would he care? They would do the same as him, right?
Also, in how Larxene seems to dislike him A LOT, which might be linked to how much emotional manipulation she likes to use on the heroes of KH. An emotional manipulation that's a bit weaker on a guy that doesn't feel for others in the same way. She might find it annoying that her preferred tactics don't work as well on Demyx as they do on other Nobodies and/or people.
In KH3, Vexen's first attempt to motivate Demyx through the concept of forgiveness completely fails. Why would a guy that doesn't feel like he's done anything that matters to other people want forgiveness? It's more bribery of being valued for his input (for once) that motivates Demyx, a much less 'sympathy focused' desire.
Does being low empathy make you a bad person? No, it doesn't. But it can lead to others thinking you're a bad person because you have different motivations strats than "hey you would feel bad if this thing happened to you too."

Hmm, how did Sora get his KH4 outfit while in Quadratum?
It came about due to him being in unreality to blend into the world or the munny Sora had left was used besides being in a luxury apartment and anything fancy/looks expensive costs munny.

I have so many thoughts about Namine and Ventus rn but all I'll say is potential parallel between Namine and Strelitzia, and how this could mean Namine is in danger of the same things repeating or just having some sort of future parallel associated with Strelitzia.
Particularly with how Namine is connected to the Book of Prophecies like we see with Jiminy's Journal in Coded (imo maybe because Kairi is a princess of heart and has some sort of connection to the OG X-Blade and maybe Lux and all that??), but especially just the concept that maybe Kairi, Ventus and Namine will all be the ones in more danger form Darkness and how this, specifically, may offer a way for Repliku and Vanitas to return of their own volition, potentially from the Realm of Darkness since it was made more or less clear that dark beings go there when defeated (Maleficent and Repliku post Chain of Memories for example). Though as for how one would do this, seeing as Vexen stated that escaping by yourself is almost impossible, I still can't help but wonder. Especially seeing how much it would work with their development as characters and actually pushing them to consider if they really don't want to exist or if they do but want to escape the pain of their circumstances. It would also work well with exploring how darkness can be a way for hearts to protect itself from breaking/ being harmed: like how anger born from fear is literally just the fight reaction of fight or flight, and just generally the whole "light within darkness; darkness within light" analogy.
This is very unorganised but I have a lot of thoughts here and I'm just very. Thinky rn at around 12:30am-ish lmao

When anyone else holds the keyblade or if it's out of reach and Sora wants it again, it appears in his hands.
However I never noticed this detail. When Riku has it, it doesn't appear back because Riku is the rightful owner.
Tumblr media
You also aren't shown how Riku obtained it. Riku could have summoned it, in Sora's presence but since he was distracted with Donald and Goofy, Sora didn't notice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Riku has to throw it to Sora for him to get it back, unless they battle over who has a stronger heart and see who the keyblade goes to like later in the game where it goes to Riku for awhile.
Tumblr media
Riku probably does know at this time that it probably was meant to be his. And he is wondering why he has it. He's probably feeling jealousy from believing he is being replaced and the keyblade is with Sora.

Pardon me, gentlemen, but what if Riku really is an avatar of Kingdom Hearts and Ansem SOD was trying to turn it kingdom hearts to darkness in order to use its power- much like tried to entice riku towards the darkness in order to use his body/power.
Riku then appears to be condemned to Darkness and must surely believe himself to be darkness,
And when Sora declares kingdom hearts to be light, it's like he's saying he still believes in riku. And that one moment of faith-- of Sora believing in him is enough to help him fight back the darkness rather than succumbing to it.

thinking about girls who aren't "real" people
girls who are dolls, or puppets, or tools, who weren't born but made
but who still think and feel and dream and live (and die </3)
thinking about girls who are real enough <3

General thought I had about Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. I just noticed how it starts with Riku asleep, making the choice to wake up to face the past, and Sora awake with a distinct purpose (finding the king and Riku). Then it ends with Riku awake, with renewed purpose and Sora asleep, confused and making the choice to go have his memory "fixed"(not that I think it was a bad choice). I just think that it's neat way to show how the story affected both characters, and an interesting choice.
