I think it's important to remember that every single religion can be twisted for violence and oppression and abuse and control. Yes, including the one that you think can't be. But quickly, before anti-theists start saying that religion is an inherently evil violence accelerant, remember that this is true for any ideology, including anti-theism. Violence and oppression and abuse and control happens wherever there are people who think that those things will help them get what they want.

Tenets of the Fire Pious
These are guiding principles that inform the way that we engage each other and approach problems.
1. Destruction is necessary, Malice is not. Transformation requires break down, but cruelty in our actions is never needed.
2. Evil is Oppression, not Destruction. As Destruction is necessary, it is the Abuse of Power and denying others their Needs that must be confronted and eliminated.
3. The Forest without the Flame cannot survive. If what is old and dead refuses to give way, what is new cannot thrive.
4. What isn't shared is lost. Our thoughts are not being recorded. Possibilities are endless and entirely out of our reach. It is only what is made manifest into the physical world that can be shared, and until something is shared, it is inherently lost. Share your love and passion with the world. Tell the ones you love how they matter to you.
5. Perfection is a goal with an endless journey. Do what you can. It will never be perfect. There will be flaws, and there will be those to notice. Respect kind criticism and strive to do better every day. The journey of self-improvement is its own reward.
6. None more dangerous than one self-assured. Danger is the potential for destruction. Destruction is not inherently evil, but check yourself that you have not missed a more constructive alternative. Listen when others are uncertain of you.
7. Diversity gives us choice; choice gives us change. Diversity strengthens and gives us depth by offering alternative choices and new perspectives. Choice allows an adaptability that can help us solve new problems.
8. Stagnation is death. Absolute preservation is impossible. All things are at all times, in some capacity, in a state of decay that requires alternating growth, maintenance, and change to solve.
9. In all things that repeat, there is difference; in all things that are different, there is repetition. Even the most similar of things and situations have differences and nuances that change them. Even the most unique experiences resonate with systemic truth. All things exist unto themselves.
10. We allow ourselves to be held accountable, so that we may hold others accountable in turn. Many of us come from backgrounds that did not allow for us to not unlearn much of what we knew to be true. Give others space and patience to learn what you did. When you fail, do not deflect or decry familiarity in an alternate situation. Hold yourself to your own standards and allow others to hold you to your standards, and you can do the same to them. We are not those that enable the worst of our natures, nor nitpicks every percieved infraction.
11. One must be cared for before they can care for others. Ensure that you have what you need before you tend to anothers'. Recognize that you cannot ask someone to give what they do not have. Everyone has bad days. We can choose to be spiteful for those that denied us kindness, or we can give them kindness so they have some to give back.
12. Not all things live, but all things have a soul. The spirit or soul of something is not the same as its lifeforce or vitality. If it can be named, it has a soul. If it can be written down, understood, and analyzed, it has a soul.
13. All souls have a beginning, a middle, and an end. Everything that exists will end. Conversely, it also had a beginning. Nothing is eternal and everlasting.

Some of my favorite magic side effects:
-Nosebleeds. Never gets old.
-Coughing up blood. The good ol’ “cough into your hand and pull it back to see blood” also never gets old.
-Headaches. You keep fighting as your head pounds, desperately telling you to take a break. At first they fade within minutes when you stop using magic, but overtime, they become chronic.
-Fatigue. After a big battle, you stand triumphant, and then just fall asleep on the spot.
-In a similar vein, overuse causing you to straight up faint rather than just fall asleep. Darkness begins to overtake your vision in the middle of battle, unconsciousness abruptly looming over you.
-Any of the side effects happening to another person. Maybe two close characters are connected, and whatever side effects character A would normally endure are transferred to character B. When A uses a blast of magic B screams loudly because holy shit that hurt.
-Magic gradually deteriorating your mind. Using it too much eventually caused hallucinations and an inability to retain memories, or even larger scale memory loss.

Potentially hot take, but I actually think it's really important for white witches and pagans to learn about black and brown spiritual practices (from practitioners of those traditions choosing to talk about what they're comfortable sharing with outsiders) not in a "I'm going to learn hoodoo!" kind of way but in a "these conversations are how we kill harmful stereotypes and learn how to be a good ally" kind of way.

It is my firm belief that the overall goal to the culture war issues that the GOP are participating in is a lead up to the repeal of the 14th Amendment, which is the ultimate method to instilling American Christian Fascism. I believe by continuously spoon-feeding these culture issues to their base, they are priming for support to repeal the 14th amendment.
Roe v. Wade was dependent on the 14th.
Obergefell v. Hodges, which enshrines gay marriage, is dependent on the 14th.
Many racial protections, such as with Loving v. Virginia for interracial marriage, or Brown v. Board of Education ending segregated schooling, are dependent on the 14th.
Even the Civil Rights Act, a congressional act instead of judicial ruling and which granted full voting rights to Black Americans, is dependent on the 14th.
Now, do not get me wrong, they are a racist, bigoted people, but it has always confused me as to what, if any, bigger end goal exists beyond simply uniting behind hate. From the voter block, sure it’s the hate, among many deeply selfish reasons, but groups like the Heritage Foundation have a touch more purpose and strategy behind their actions. They don’t just want to win the game, they want to take the house.
They are planning ahead, and as much as it’s obvious what they are doing and why they’re doing it, the how is a bit trickier, and frankly Project 2025 is too granular, too public, and too obvious to fully succeed. But what it, and their entire strategy thus far, does is prime their base against the 14th amendment. Since all the ‘culture wars’ find their basis in the 14th, enough distrust in the peripheries could easily translate into convincing people the 14th should be repealed.
But why?
Well, we all know the what and the why of the 14th; enshrining Black Americans as US Citizens and giving them the (disgustingly limited) right to vote, but how it did this is essential to understanding this endgame, and that’s found in the first section:
“Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
The 14th overrules a states right to define their citizenship requirements, and defines it by the federal standard of any person born or naturalized in the United States. Additionally if you are a US Citizen, this amendment says the State’s can’t fuck with your federal rights.
Get rid of this and the ruling party can decide who gets treated as a citizen in their borders.
Period.
