Number 10. Brave And The Bold - A Silver Age inspired Joker with the Golden Age design and genuine menace. A pretty good combo if you ask me!

Number 9. 1966/Caesar Romero - He's the most iconic of the purely campy Jokers, and honestly he's just fun. I know that's not a heavy reason to like this iteration of the character, but it's true.

Number 8. Gotham - The Valeska Twins share a spot, purely because Cameron Monaghan's performance as them was so great. First there was Jerome, who was originally supposed to be a one-off possible Joker, and remained that way throughout the entire show even as he became somewhat of a Proto-Joker that was simultaneously heinous and fun. Though near the end of the show's 4th season, Jerome dies, but his twin brother Jeremiah ends up getting infected with an insanity gas that his brother cooked up, turning Jeremiah into a Golden Age inspired Proto-Joker who slowly evolves into the clown that we're more familiar with.

Number 7. The Batman 2004 - This clown offers almost everything you'd want, but they're all packed within an extremely different exterior! His bare feet, dreads that resemble a jesters hat, Kevin Michael Richardson voicing him, and just how athletic and animalistic he is make this Joker unique, even if what he brings to the table is still pure fun mixed with genuine heinousness and a bat obsession.

Number 6. Arkhamverse - Despite having that shit final boss and his bad habit of constantly overshadowing other villains, Joker in these games is an absolute blast to see and hear. Doesn't matter that he's a big bad, a secondary antagonist, or just "flirting with Batsy", he's great. It also helps that both Mark Hamill and Troy Baker do a phenomenal job at bringing him to life.

Number 5. Golden Age - Ah, Original!Joker my beloved. A scary as shit cunning sociopath with a haunting grin, clownish exterior, and a nice purple suit who just came outta nowhere. Plain, simple, yet very effective at the time.

Number 4. Nolanverse/Heath Ledger - I swear to god Heath Ledger's take on Joker is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover" because while he kinda spawned more cringeworthy and edgier Jokers (Lookin' at the New 52 & Leto), he also manages to distill the essence of the character perfectly. He's colorful yet subtle, funny yet terrifying, arrogant yet self-deprecating, brilliant yet insane, motivated to cause chaos yet feeling the need to justify that chaos to the rest of the world, hates Batman yet loves him, and he just simply exists.

Number 3. Batman 1989/Jack Nicholson - Perfect casting, perfect costume, feels like he leapt straight outta the comics and onto the big screen, and he has a near perfect origin. If only he wasn't responsible for the death of the Waynes. Still he's a phenomenal elseworlds Joker and an ICON.

Number 2. BTAS/DCAU - Forever the definitive Joker adaptation. Mark Hamill's voice was perfect for the clown, his designs are iconic, his origin being a perfect blend between "we know what he's about" and "we don't know shit," he's still funny yet terrifying, he's a chaotic artist, his toxic dynamic with Harley Quinn was perfect (which is funny since Quinn was invented FOR BTAS), his death and actual defeat were cathartic, and overall this was the Definitive Joker.

Number 1. Post-Crisis Comics - We got Joker's Five-Way Revenge, Laughing Fish, Dreadful Birthday Joker, The Killing Joke, and A Death In The Family out of this iteration of the character, all of which pretty much came to define The Joker in one way or another, for better or worse. Out of all of the reboots of DC's universe, Post-Crisis had the best Comic!Joker, and in all honestly just the best Joker in general.

Nah cuz I’m finally giving Kevin Michael Richardson his flowers for being the best Joker voice actor. His delivery, the way he can change his tone and voice from silly and whimsical to deep and threatening in the same sentence, like I never noticed how much his voice changed and it truly gives him off as unpredictable and insane, his voice is truly iconic.

Happy Birthday Phyllis Logan, born 11th January 1956 in Paisley.

Phyllis was educated at Johnstone High School. She studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and graduated with the top honour, the James Bridie gold medal in 1977, previous winners have included Ian Richardson and Hannah Gordon.

I suppose this is another one of those, depends on what era you grew up in, type posts, for me she will always be Lady Jane Felsham in Lovejoy in the 80’s and 90’s. Of course nowadays most know her as Elsie Hughes/ Carson housekeeper in all 6 series of Downton Abbey. Phyllis has also been in a host of TV shows, Shoestring, Scotch & Wry, Hannay, Holby City and Kavanagh QC to name a few, she also featured in the very last episode of A Touch of Frost as his love interest.

Logan met actor Kevin McNally in 1994, and they married on August 15, 2011.Their son David was born in 1996.

Last year Phyllis appeared in The Last Bus, with the versatile actor Timothy Spall, she was also in the second series of the excellent dark comedy, Guilt.

Phyllis shows no signs of slowing up fans of Downton will know ahe was in Downton Abbey: A New Era last year, she also turned up in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect the true story of Scientist Nambi Narayanan who was falsely accused of being a spy and arrested in 1994. Another one which will be of interest to us in Scotland is Banking on Mr. Toad, an animated biography about Edinburgh born writer Kenneth Grahame, the birth of his iconic story “The Wind In The Willows” and life with wife Elsie and Alastair, their troubled young son, no date for it's release as yet, but it has been completed.

Last year Phyllis appeared in season 8 of Shetland, and was in a movie called Surprised by Oxford, which gets a reasonable 6.5/10 on IMDb, I must look out for it.

Iconic Holiday Special Series Prep & Landing Get Revived At Disney Television Animation In New Special For Disney+.

Disney has announced at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival that it has greenlighted a brand new “Prep & Landing” holiday special, which is called “Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol”.

Stevie and Kevin had a lot of ideas for additional stories starring Lanny, Wayne, and Magee. Unfortunately, Walt Disney Animation Studios seemed to have closed the book on the characters. But now that Stevie and Kevin are at Disney Television Animation on a overall development deal with the studio for new shows,films and specials, they were able to dust off some of their “tinsel” ideas.

In this new instalment of the Emmy-winning holiday specials, the high-tech team of elves from the elite unit known as Prep and Landing is back! When their holiday missions go awry, Wayne thinks he is in BIG trouble with Santa, which opens a vault of merry mishaps from the past. It’s going to be hard to dig their way out of the snowbank this time in “Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol."  Stevie and Kevin could only share a storyboard panel from the new special's introduction. Familiar imagery, like a closeup of the Gingerbread Man (GBM) device, was paired with a new gadget: An angel tree topper whose horn to hark doubles as a fire extinguisher, used to put out the flames of a burning snowman. Stevie and Kevin also confirmed that Dave Foley, Derek Richardson, and Sarah Chalke will reprise their roles as Lanny, Wayne, and Magee.

This brand-new animated special is 22 minutes long and has been produced by Disney Television Animation replacing the previous studio of the specials Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The executive producers include Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton.  Colleen Evanson ("Monsters At Work") worked as the story editor/co-producer, and Melissa Kurtz Melissa Kurtz produced the special.  It was also revealed that Hilary Helding ("Monsters At Work") wrote the special and that Shane Zalvin ("Monsters At Work") directed it.

Top 6 versions of the Joker

1. DC Animated Universe version. Real original choice, I know, but he's not only my first Joker, he's easily the best Joker in terms of getting down absolutely every essential element needed to make Joker who he is as a character, villain, and nemesis for Batman, all held together by Mark Hamill's legendary and iconic voice acting.

2. The Dark Knight version. Why so serious? The writing, the direction, the soundtrack and especially Heath Ledger's character acting for him made this Joker the stuff of myths, horror stories and nightmares. A fascinating, unforgettable take on the villain.

3. Batman (89) version. This movie falls a bit short of the greatness displayed by the similar Superman: The Movie and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, but I don't think anyone could deny the key component to making it work was Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Ominously creepy, entertaining, and quotable as hell, Jack nailed the essence of the character as he was portrayed in the comic books at the time.

4. Joker version. Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck is chillingly good. Look forward to seeing his return to the big screen in two months!

5. Under The Red Hood version. Something about the way the character is designed, John Dimaggio's voice acting, and the things he does in the story leave a massive impact on you well after you've watched this movie. Easily one of the scariest Jokers IMHO.

6. The Batman version. He deviates tremendously from your traditional Joker portrayal and in all his many appearances wasn't quite so strong an arch foe to the Batman as I'd have liked, but he really stands out among the crowd as an enjoyable Joker in his own right, with Kevin Michael Richardson really bringing his voice acting A game with what he was able to do in the role.

Grant Morrison's beloved, Eisner Award-winning vision of Superman's heroic final days on Earth is brought to exquisite, animated life in All-Star Superman. Biography: Everyone has at least heard of Exodia as a monster; one of the original series' most iconic legends, and the one that managed to give Yugi his first victory over Kaiba. Not to mention his role as Shimon's primary monster whose strength rivals the gods themselves! However, while he is intimidating both here and in the Duelscape, Exodia isn't simply an automatic winner of battles.

In fact, he was the first to gain and understand the magic that birthed from the mighty Holactie, and chose to impart this wisdom upon the Duelscape's best and brightest. These included such powerhouses as the Stern Mystic, Airknight Parshath, Gandora the Dragon of Destruction, and many other monsters of various types.

However, Exodia feared that both his wisdom and power may one day be used for evil, so he exiled himself from the Duelscape along with the Egyptian God Cards not long after the defeat of Reshef and Seven-Armed Fiend. However, he promised his students he may one day return to help defeat a great evil that would rebirth the old, evil ones that threatened the Duelscape's very existence.

Yeah, I agree. Leto’s performance was a nice change and look of the iconic character, it ain’t the greatest compared to other legendary performances like Jack Nicholson, late great Heath Ledger, Mark Hamil, or hell even John Diamaggio or Kevin Michael Richardson. But he wasn’t that bad, he was average in my opinion

Happy Birthday Phyllis Logan, born 11th January 1956 in Paisley.

Phyllis was educated at Johnstone High School. She studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and graduated with the top honour, the James Bridie gold medal in 1977, previous winners have included Ian Richardson and Hannah Gordon.

I suppose this is another one of those, depends on what era you grew up in, type posts, for me she will always be Lady Jane Felsham in Lovejoy in the 80’s and 90’s. Of course nowadays most know her as Elsie Hughes/ Carson housekeeper in all 6 series of Downton Abbey. Phyllis has also been in a host of TV shows, Shoestring, Scotch & Wry, Hannay, Holby City and Kavanagh QC to name a few, she also featured in the very last episode of A Touch of Frost as his love interest.

Logan met actor Kevin McNally in 1994, and they married on August 15, 2011.Their son David was born in 1996.

Last year  Phyllis appeared in The Last Bus, with the versatile actor Timothy Spall, she was also in the second series of the excellent dark comedy, Guilt.  

Phyllis shows no signs of slowing up fans of Downton  will know ahe was in Downton Abbey: A New Era last year, she also turned up in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect the true story of  Scientist Nambi Narayanan who was falsely accused of being a spy and arrested in 1994. Surprised by Oxford is a 2022 drama romance set in Oxford

Another one which will be of interest to us in Scotland is  Banking on Mr. Toad, an animated biography about Edinburgh born writer Kenneth Grahame, the birth of his iconic story “The Wind In The Willows” and life with wife Elsie and Alastair, their troubled young son, no date for it's release as yet, but it has been completed.
