late night cuddles/"pillow talk" with kevin >>
"nah, babe, you're goin' next week. we've all run out of stories," kevin said, throwing an arm around you as you both traveled up the stairs.
"sandra hasn't-" you started, already knowing what kevin would say.
he chuckled. his small laugh trailed off as he unconsciously leaned more on you to get upstairs to the 'dorm' hallway. "yeah," he murmured, "sandra has a thing for getting hot 'n' heavy with angels. anything's better than that."
☆☆☆
"'m glad you don't have a roommate," kevin whispered into the inky darkness of your room.
silver tinted light streamed in through your window, landing and reflecting off of kevin's pale skin. his eyes shined brightly as they found yours, a small smile on his face at the comforting intimacy of the easy closeness of the both of you. "yeah?"
kevin's smile got a little wider. "yeah..." he trailed off, raising a hand to trace the features on your face. "otherwise i wouldn't feel this... this peaceful." there was so much raw emotion in that word, and his movements faltered a little. the quiver in his voice showed just how vulnerable he was.
"no one's ever loved me like you have," kevin whimpered. you felt your eyebrows knit together as kevin crumbled in your arms. "i miss you, y/n, i miss you," he sobbed quietly. his shaking form was a far cry from the poised figure looming in a wooden chair in an d library.
"i know, angel. i'm here," you answered, feeling tears prick in your own eyes at kevin's gut wrenching cries. his cries of love, regret, anger, madness... it hurt.
"i don't want you to leave- i don't wanna leave-" he stammered, breaths growing increasingly irratic as he clutched desperately at the fabric of your shirt.
"no one's leaving, sweetheart. no one will. we'll be okay."
"i'm dying," kevin muttered to himself. "we'll be okay?" he asked after abruptly pulling his face from your neck to see your face.
"we'll be okay," you affirmed, brushing a lock of blond hair from kevin's sticky forhead. "just... just go to sleep, love. we'll wake up and we'll be okay. yeah? sound good?"
"yeah." kevin nodded. "yeah that sounds good."
after kevin's hiccup/sniffle concoction finally went away and his breathing even out, you opened your eyes for one last glance before falling into the welcoming arms of unconsciousness. "i love you," you whispered into kevin's ear after a lone kiss to the temple.

A different take on this: Kevin Carter, The Photographer Driven To Suicide By His Work.
Excerpt from above link: All the while, he was surrounded by armed Sudanese soldiers who were there to keep him from interfering. Even if he decided to help the little boy in the famous vulture photos (mistakenly labeled as a girl initially), the soldiers wouldn’t have allowed it.
THE SECOND VULTURE:
In the 1990's there was a widely circulated photo of a vulture waiting for a starving little girl to die and feast on her corp. That photo was taken during the 1993/94 famine in Sudan, by Kevin Carter, a South African photojournalist, who later won the Pulitzer Prize for this 'amazing shot'.*
*However, as Kevin Carter was savouring his feat and being celebrated on major news channels and networks worldwide for such an 'exceptional photographic skill', he lived just for a few months to enjoy his supposed achievement and fame, as he later got depressed and took his own life!*
*Kevin Carter's depression started, when during one of such interviews (a phone-in programme), someone called in and asked him what happened to the little girl. He simply replied, "I didn't wait to find out after this shot, as I had a flight to catch..." Then the caller said, "I put it to you that there were two vultures on that day, one had a camera".*
*Thus, his constant thought of that statement, later led to depression and he ultimately committed suicide. Kevin Carter could have still been alive today and even much more famous, if he had just picked that little girl up and taken her to the United Nations Feeding Center, where she was attempting to reach or at least take her to somewhere safe.*
*Today, regrettably this is what is happening all around the world. The world celebrates stupidity and inhumane act, at the detriment of other. Kevin Carter should have taken the girl away from that place, which will cost him nothing, yet he didn't. Here is the inhuman posture, "he had all time to take his shot, but he had no time to save the girl's life".*
*Thus, we must all understand that, the purpose of life, is to also touch lives. So are you too a Vulture. In whatever we do, let humanity come first, before what we stand to gain out of the situation. In all we do let's always think of others and how we can be of benefit to humanity, how we can lend a helping hand and wipe away tears. Hence, when we seek knowledge, wealth, fame, skills or even positions, let's think of how we can use it to benefit the people and society at large.*
*Today, there is a lot of poverty in the land, so if our God Almighty has blessed you, be a blessing to others, extend a helping hand to those in need. Remember, you giving, is also a way of appreciating divine blessings, bounties, and favour of God Almighty upon you. Therefore, it is very important that we all should help the poor and needy, the orphans and widows amongst us, so that they can meet their needs. Please don't be a Kevin Carter, be human and think humanity.*
*Beware, we humans are not humans, if we lack humaneness in all we do.*

“Although it is challenging to determine the exact figures of malnutrition worldwide, according to the United Nations in 2022, approximately 9% of the world's population, or around 690 million people, experienced chronic hunger. Shockingly, this dire situation leads to approximately 25,000 people dying of hunger-related causes every day, with over 10,000 of these deaths affecting children.
When we analyze the yearly impact of these daily deaths, it results in a staggering figure of around 9.13 million people succumbing to hunger annually. Over a decade, the cumulative toll reaches a heartbreaking total of approximately 91.3 million lives lost. These numbers underscore the urgent need for global efforts to address food insecurity, poverty, and malnutrition, as hunger remains a devastating challenge that affects millions of lives worldwide.”
(The photograph was taken by South African photojournalist Kevin Carter in Sudan in March 1993. The photo depicts a emaciated girl crouching, while a vulture lurks in the background. This poignant image is often associated with the famine that was prevalent in the region at the time.
The starving and weakened girl appears to be in a desperate situation, while the vulture symbolizes the imminent threat of death. This photograph elicited emotional reactions and drew global attention to the severity of the famine affecting parts of Africa.
Carter won the Pulitzer Prize for this photo, but controversy surrounding the ethics of photojournalism also emerged. Some criticized Carter for not immediately helping the girl, although the exact circumstances of the shot are not clear. Shortly after winning the Pulitzer Prize, Carter tragically took his own life in 1994.
This photograph remains a powerful symbol of the realities of famine, poverty, and the challenges many people face in different parts of the world. It also highlights the moral dilemmas that photojournalists may encounter when documenting extreme situations.
The fate of the little girl captured in Kevin Carter's photograph in Sudan remains unknown. In the midst of severe famine, her story after that moment is unrecorded. She may have tragically succumbed to the harsh conditions, or perhaps she found a way to survive.)

The X-Men have a lunch meeting with the parents of "Jean Grey" (she's actually Madelyne Pryor) in the X-Mansion. Then, Mr Grey notices that something is wrong with the TV and before Rogue could warn them, the explosion happens. The crackling TV and explosion is caused by none other than Siena Blaze, Hazard and the Marauders who came to the X-Mansion lawn for a rematch. The X-Men fight the villains while Beast and "Jean Grey" help to evacuate the parents out of the mansion. While everyone else are fighting, Wolverine notices that Sabretooth is not with the Marauders. It turns out that Sabretooth is in Sinister's lab, sitting out from the fight because he is waiting for Siena, Hazard and the Marauders to weaken the X-Men so that he could finish Wolverine or any X-Men off if he has the chance.
Back to the mansion, the fight is too evenly-matched for the X-Men and the foes. Once the civilians are evacuated; Beast and "Jean Grey" join in the fight to help the X-Men. As Arclight creates an earthquake to throw Morph, Harpoon, Wolverine and Cyclops off, Cyclops notices the underground pipe and tells the X-Men to knock out Arclight before she makes a gas explosion. Arclight gloats until she gets telepathically knocked out by "Jean Grey". However, "Jean" nearly collapses from overexerting her telepathy because of her pregnancy. The X-Men eventually work together and they switch their opponents. Jubilee switches from fighting Prism to fighting Hazard. Wolverine defeats Prism by using his claws because physical attacks are Prism's weakness. Bishop shoots Harpoon down after switching from Hazard. Rogue partially absorbs Gambit's explosive powers and moves in to pounce on Siena Blaze and scares her by threatening to blow her up. Jubilee, Morph and Storm work together to defeat Hazard. Since Riptide is too distracted by Beast, Gambit manages to knock out the Marauder from behind. Cyclops uses his optic blast to knock down Arclight.

i left nordle out of that future AU art i did a while ago so i felt like this was needed. i think he would take up fred's role in the future but he cares significantly less about the whole ordeal cause he still loosely identifies as 'evil-aligned'. i think he maliciously complies
