concept: the night spire makes a detour to stop in london for a few days. after dinner with rhy and alucard, kell and lila collapse into bed together, exhausted from the long journey, falling asleep wrapped up in each others’ arms. at some point during the night, esa sneaks her way into the room (probably via the secret corridor between kell and rhy’s rooms), joining the two sleeping antari currently bundled up in the blankets together. the two wake with the sunrise (a habit they both picked up from their time at sea). when lila opens her eyes, head still nuzzled into kells neck, she’s confused (and let’s be honest, somewhat irritated), at the sight of the fluffy white ball curled up on kell’s chest. kell on the other hand, is thrilled with the addition, perfectly content to cuddle them both. this is how lila discovers kell’s love for cats.

max emilian verstappen is a dutch streamer most known for his hilarious sim racing and trying to play call of duty. max has been dating red bull's number 1 driver, y/n l/n, since late 2021. he is 26 years old, only 3 years older than y/n. as of right now, he lives in Monaco with l/n in their shared apartment, but does have another house in the Netherlands close to his mom (y/n and he go there often).

the pair has two bengal cats, jimmy and sassy, that they both love.

max was most known for dating model kelly piquet from 2019 to early 2021, but the couple had a mutual breakup. max first met y/n at a fan event after max placed first in one of the first Red Bull F1 challenges. everyone says they hit it off during summer break.

a little hidden fact is that max used to kart with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc when they were younger. an interview video resurfaced and many fans now love to tease the two whenever they're seen together. click here for the link!

                     " Cooking Halloween Cookies with Them "

★ — Sunny & Mari

     Mari does most of the work like the cooking of the cookies, but you and Sunny do the icing together and help mix the cookie batter (you two sneak a bite of the raw cookie dough, but Mari notices it and just lets it slide with a stifled giggle). Sunny's cookies probably turn out better than yours if you're not experienced with this stuff, the icing being relatively straight, maybe uneven. You and Sunny decided that you would do ghosts and he would do pumpkins, Mari doing other things like witch hats, candles, black cats, the usual, but she doesn't mind. You guys normally make a minimum of 30 cookies so you can share with the others every year since Mari was 9.

     When Halloween day comes around, you bring the cookies over to wherever a Halloween party is being held between the friend group and the cookies are always the best. Whenever it's your guy's turn to make the cookies for this year, it's always good.

     Even after the death of Mari and since Sunny shut himself away, you brought cookies to his door every Halloween with Kel to remind him that you're there for him and to remind him of the good times. ☆

✦ — Hero & Kel

     Again, Hero does most if not all the work while you and Kell goof off. Hero's not mad at all, quite the opposite, and you two normally get only about 3 cookies decorated, which were a couple ghosts and a black cat and a pumpkin. You two eat a lot of the raw cookie dough and he has to scold you guys after your third bite.

     "Kel, [name], you've eaten six total raw cookies, you're lucky I made more batter than needed."

     "Sorry Hero.." You and Kel say in unison, looking away from Hero and each other while you fidgeted with your fingers with your heads down. Hero just sighed and let out a breath of laughter, patting both of your guy's heads while Hero and Kels mom watched on in the back with a smile.

     The friend group loves Hero's cookies. They're always just right and look very nice and people can always tell who decorated what cookie since your guy's is a little messy (especially Kels). You and Kels cookies taste the same though, and Aubery teases you two about your messy decorating job and it turns into a mini playful fight — like always, the others just laugh to themselves.. other than Sunny of course, who just watches on from his sisters side.

     After Maris death, you two made it your mission to get good at making cookies and with the help of Kel and Hero's mom, you succeed, and try to get Hero to have some when Halloween comes around. You two always notice how the couple of cookies you gave him are gone the next day. ✧

★ — Aubrey

      She's actually a pretty good cook. Aubrey always comes over to your house to make them though and if you also don't have the best home life, you go to Mari and Sunny's house to make them. The group likes her cookies and she adds her own little flare to the cats, hats, ghosts and whatever else she decides to make by adding something pink to them. She really does love to cook with you and it always reminds her that her friends and you are there for her.

     She likes to have quality time with her friends and teases Kel for not being able to cook cookies or decorate them properly, which is just playful banter the two have and they still are good friends. Whenever Hero or Mari compliments her cooking, she always beams at the praise and hugs them, to which they reciprocate with gentle laughter.

      Even after Maris death and everyone kinda ditched her, you made sure to stick by her side throughout all her changes and even though her group tells her to ditch you, she can't get rid of her cookie cooking buddy, and still has the little flare to her cookies when it's Halloween. ✧

★ — Basil

     Doesn't actually know how to cook very well. He focuses more on gardening and taking pictures so he doesn't really find much need to cook complex things like cookies. If you're good at cooking, you show him how to make it and if not, Polly helps you two. Basil's very good at decorating though, and he loves to decorate the cookies with you. He decided to make Halloween colored flowers while you made the typical Halloween stuff.

     The group likes how Basil does his cookies even if he didn't exactly cook them himself. When the group and you are just hanging out, like always, he takes pictures of you all and makes sure he gets the cookies in there as well.

     After Maris death, you notice he becomes more jumpy and skittish, but either way, he still makes the cookies with you every Halloween and thoroughly enjoys doing it. It's one of the things that kept him grounded when Mari died and helped him temporarily forget his involvement in the incident. ☆

I just watched Secret of Kells for the first time in the past few weeks and was delighted to see the Pangur Ban poem reference :D

Secret of Kells.... Good....... I mean everything by that studio is good.

The Monk and his Cat is a song by Samuel Barber as a part of a 10 song cycle of music translated from anonymous poems by Irish monks in the middle ages. [Wikipedia informs me theyre from the 8th-13th centuries.]

I think by far my favorite thing about Secret of Kells in particular is how much fun they have retelling history. The animations of the illustrated book at the end are from the actual Book of Kells, and you get little moments like The Monk and his Cat that they decided to add in just to make the world feel a little more real. Adore that studio <3

Not sure if anyone else summarized the bad friends podcast but I listened to it last night:

- he said he was sober after talking about an incident where he got caught with cocaine at LAX 7 or 8 years ago

- he talked about having an ego death in 2022 when he realized that no matter what he did people were still going to dislike him and the hosts said that the people who hated him probably liked him more than his fans

- talked about Casie a lot (which was sweet) when the hosts asked if he had the conversations about her smoking weed or getting tattoos. Kells said he never tried to hide who he was from her so if someone tried to woo her with drugs and stuff she wouldn't think it was so glamorous and he wanted someone to genuinely "court" her (his words)

- talked about a music video and I'm like 100% sure it's for El Pistolero where he got a martial artts creator from Instagram to be in the video and so some kind of ode to DBZ and Naruto

-one of the hosts out rapped him in that really fast part in El pistelro (he also said he did the fast rap as an ode to his fans because we like when he raps fast lol)

- one of the hosts (Bobby) asked if he could play a furry animal in an upcoming music video (this whole part made me laugh so hard lol)

- he mentioned his 3 cats and said he had about 80 different cat beds for them but they all prefer cardboard boxes

- for all the ppl who are afraid to watch or listen for mentioning of *her* she was only mentioned twice. Once by one of the hosts saying he didn't want to puke on her and then by colson in the same context but other than that she was not brought up so it's safe to listen to if you were worried about that 😉

This is hilarious. I will do all of them because why not.

favorite chore: organizing things mostly but sometimes even that sucks, sweeping, or not really a chore--- peeling potatoes

least favorite chore: cleaning anything that's sticky/slimy/etc

aquarium, planetarium, museum, or zoo: it really depends on the kind. The aquarium in my town has a really big otter enclosure, so I love that. I really really like planetariums and museums but don't go enough.

favorite kind of museum: The ones that are pretty much people's houses turned into museums especially big old fancy houses with old artifacts. I do love a good art museum of course too.

cooking or baking (and your favorite thing to cook or bake): baking and apple crisp. It has peeling, cutting, etc.

favorite thing in your room: My bookshelf or all of the quotes stuck up on my wall.

favorite class you’ve ever taken: I haven't gotten much variety yet. I really like choir, Spanish, and English though.

what kinds of clothes do you typically wear?: tshirts, jeans, overalls, sweaters, really anything but if you see it it makes sense.

favorite way to be creative (can be anything: playlists, outfits, drawing, writing, decorating cookies, anything.): WRITING but I actually kind of have done a lot. I paint some. I make cool outfits. I actually painted a bunch of jean jackets last summer while listening to the FLF audiobook. I might do that again.

are you superstitious?: Yes and no. I am in the ways that I think are funny like sayings and jokes and having a "lucky necklace." I used to be more so.

favorite article of clothing you own: It's either this gray sweater I found thrifting, my Evermore sweatshirt, or my best jean jacket.

favorite way to carry things (pockets, purse, backpack, etc): I apologize in advance for the rant this will cause. I want to say pockets, but I can not because WOMEN'S PANTS POCKETS FIT NOTHING. I also have to carry an Epipen which can't even fit in men's pants pockets so a purse. I like satchel like purses that can fit a book.

what things do you usually have on you when you leave the house?: As stated before my Epipen, my phone which has my wallet stuff in it, a purse, a book, headphones, chapstick, some cash, etc.

favorite errand: grocery shopping or essential other things

dream job: a librarian who writes books in her spare time (with a dog and a cat <3)

favorite thing get when going out to eat: a burger or spaghetti usually

when did you lose your first tooth?: first tooth lost was pulled by the dentist, and I didn't know what was going on. It was HORRIBLE. I have gotten many pulled actually. First "naturally" lost was because my friend's friend hit my chin with her knee while we lifted her in the air at recess. I lost it in Spanish class a few days later.

any childhood memory you want to share:

do you like camping?: Yes, but mostly because I was taken a lot as a kid.

have you ever gone to summer camp and did you enjoy it?: I went to girl scout summer camp but family camp, so my mom was there. It was fine.

favorite place to write things: At a table anywhere without too much distractions

place you want to travel to: Broadway or London or the Netherlands (to meet an old online friend)

do you have any pets?: I had a bunny as a little girl. I loved her. I had a dog, but she died two months (ish) ago. I miss her.

do you want any pets that you don’t have?: I want to have a dog again someday. I also will probably have a cat someday. (If I could get an orange cat, I would name it Kell.)

Lila and interactions with animals

Lila being afraid to ride a horse in acol will always amuse me. It's an interesting quirk which reveals more about her character and her trust issues. Animals, unlike people, are unpredictable. She doesn't trust people, how can she trust a horse she can't even control? She didn't even pretend to know how to ride because she knew that the odds that she would lose control and fall were high, and she valued her life too much to even attempt it. She could have gone by foot, but if she did, she'd be left behind, and the situation in that part of the story didn't allow Lila to be picky. So she got on the horse with Kell and trusted him because he was an expert rider, unlike her. And he probably felt her discomfort and tried to offer his support, which was nice.

Another instance where Lila seems uncomfortable with animals is in tftop, when she finds Tes' dead owl Vares and asks what is it. She yelps when the owl comes to life, because she didn't expect it to be "alive". Lila mistrusted Tes as well, and her older sister calls her "little rabbit," which is symbolic of how Tes is a bit of a threat to Lila as well but also the only one who could help them. Ren also has a pet rabbit and Lila creates a little rabbit figure when she shows her magic tricks. It all comes back full circle because after Tes fixes Kell's magic, the first thing he sees it's Ren's rabbit Miros, which again is possible because Tes the "little rabbit" fixed him like she fixed Vares. Rabbits mean fertility and new beginnings so it fits.

Lastly... cats. Lila and Esa don't seem to like each other and she often thinks the cat is glaring at her. Lila is often compared to cats throughout the story, because cats represent mystery, cunning and independence and are also considered sacred and linked to magic. I think Esa might've been a hint about Lila being aven in agos, so the cat perceived her being special just like Alucard could see the silver threads before she even knew she was antari. In tftop, Lila and Esa continue to regard each other warily but you can see that there is a certain degree of distance between them, as the cat is protective of Ren and of course, her fathers. It's like they don't like each other much, yet there is mutual respect because they have the same goal (Lila also cares about Ren's well being).
