Navigating the new normal. That is a phrase that I am hearing a lot.  It almost sounds like an oxymoron. How can something be new and normal?

Quarantine is A Scary Word(A Poem of Sorts)

Quarantine is a scary word. 

So we change it to Social Distancing and no one listens.

We shut down schools to keep kids safe and they congregate in other places.

Spring breakers can’t resist the idea of a party so they endanger themselves and others high off the hubris of youth.

Some leaders pay us lip service and do nothing.

So today I felt the need to write something. I mean I have a lot of time on my hands now, and I felt the urge. And I wanted to reach out to people.

Today during my Facebook ponderings I remarked upon the fact that I wished I had fulfilled my childhood dream of being a writer.  Of course, my friends were right there telling me I still could be a writer, the only thing stopping me was me. Today is the 12th anniversary of the death of Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time, but it is also a special day for fans because it is the first day of principal photography for the upcoming Wheel of Time television series on Amazon Prime.  While this new beginning fills the fandom with mixed emotions on this day one thing is for sure. I miss Ohio. Not necessarily the state but the life we had built there. As a military family we move, we have been fortunate to not have to have moved a lot (only 5 moves in 18 years) but this one is different.

We lived in Ohio for 8 years, which is almost unheard of. And in those 8 years, I feel like we laid deep roots.  Our youngest child was born there, we built a house( which I love), both…
