Jordancon In July
Jordancon In July - Jordancon is happening this year and this time it will be in July
Normally we have Jordancon in April and pollen is a big concern.  This year since we are having it in July I want to talk to everyone about the heat and humidity. It is hot in Atlanta……it is humid in Atlanta…..it is hot and humid in Atlanta in July. This increases the chances for heat stroke and heat sickness. Also is you have asthma the humidity will not be your friend My number one piece of…

JordanCONline - The Ultimate Couch Con
JordanCONline – The Ultimate Couch Con
This weekend should have been Jordancon 2020. Unfortunately, the coronavirus didn’t allow for it to happen in person. Not to be thwarted the Jordancon Team put together an amazing online con in an incredibly short period of time.
JordanCONline took place April 17th -19th, the same weekend set aside for Jordancon 2020. This online con was free and open to the public, just not Jordancon 2020 ticket…

National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month and since I don’t have much else to do I am going to try to write a poem a day.  I don’t know if inspiration will strike every day, but we will see. Anyway here is today’s first poem.
(Untitled)
Days of solitude
Nights of grandeur
Starlit skies
light the way
  Nights of grandeur
Days of solitude
Winds of time
Uncover a Path

Nights of grandeur

Navigating the New Normal
Navigating the new normal. That is a phrase that I am hearing a lot.  It almost sounds like an oxymoron. How can something be new and normal?
Yet here we are trying to figure out how to work from home or in some cases what to donow that we are unemployed, trying to figure out this whole “distance learning” thing whether for ourselves or our kids and basically learning how to be social but at a…

Quarantine is A Scary Word(A Poem of Sorts)
Quarantine is a scary word.
So we change it to Social Distancing and no one listens.
We shut down schools to keep kids safe and they congregate in other places.
Spring breakers can’t resist the idea of a party so they endanger themselves and others high off the hubris of youth.
Some leaders pay us lip service and do nothing.
Some leaders lead and suffer heavy criticism.
Truck Drivers drive to…

I wanted to write
So today I felt the need to write something. I mean I have a lot of time on my hands now, and I felt the urge. And I wanted to reach out to people.
I wanted to talk to the people that may be struggling with social distancing. It is not an easy thing for many.  Humans, for the most part, are social by nature. Even introverts like human companionship some times.
I wanted to reach out to the people…

Covid-19. It is here. It is very much here and very much disrupting our lives.
Covid-19. It is here. It is very much here and very much disrupting our lives.
Before I go any further I want to say everything beyond that first sentence is strictly my opinion. I am not a medical professional of any sort, I think I have the average amount of common sense…ok, maybe above average, and like most opinion pieces you should take this with a grain of salt and move about your day.

I want to be a writer, but what should I write?
I want to be a writer, but what should I write?
Today during my Facebook ponderings I remarked upon the fact that I wished I had fulfilled my childhood dream of being a writer.  Of course, my friends were right there telling me I still could be a writer, the only thing stopping me was me. Which is, of course, true….but sometimes your biggest obstacle is yourself.  However, I don’t know if it is the sunshine or my promise to be more optimistic…

What happens when you don't have a Tribe?
What happens when you don’t have a Tribe?
It isn’t a rhetorical question. What really happens when you don’t have a local group of friends to spend time with and to depend on?
Everything tells us, especially women, that you need to have a group of friends to lift you up and hold you down.  When you don’t have that you feel like less.
What is wrong with you that you can’t make those connections? And the older you are the worse it is.…

It was a Beginning.......
It was a Beginning…….
Today is the 12th anniversary of the death of Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time, but it is also a special day for fans because it is the first day of principal photography for the upcoming Wheel of Time television series on Amazon Prime.  While this new beginning fills the fandom with mixed emotions on this day one thing is for sure. September 16th will always be a special day in the WoT…

I miss Ohio
I miss Ohio. Not necessarily the state but the life we had built there. As a military family we move, we have been fortunate to not have to have moved a lot (only 5 moves in 18 years) but this one is different.
We lived in Ohio for 8 years, which is almost unheard of. And in those 8 years, I feel like we laid deep roots.  Our youngest child was born there, we built a house( which I love), both…

You're going to write about what?!
You’re going to write about what?!
I recently moved, as military spouses do, and as a result, I have a lot of free time on my hands as I look for a job. And since there is only so much housework one can do, I thought “Hey I should get back to writing my blog” Great Idea, right?  Except the thing is I don’t really know what to write about. That is the thing with personal blogs, what is your subject matter going to be.

To Cast A Villain: Liandrin Guirale
I originally posted this on http://www.wheeloftime.tv/
Last week I told you guys that I had an actress picked out to play the Liandrin and that actress is Margot Robbie. She definitely has the acting chops and, with the exception of eye color, she is exactly how I picture Liandrin.

Now there are two reasons I don’t think this is feasible. The first reason is not a huge…

Joar Addam Nessosin, a noted composer of music and child prodigy during the Age Of Legends that never seemed to quite reached his full potential in adulthood. Apparently, this was something that caused him a great deal of shame and anger.
So what does this great artist do?
