Did you somehow manage to track the money she used to pay for the alleged dress? How do you even know it was her FIRST HARD EARNED money and not, say, her father's?

I love call the midwife, but other than that I've been watching old sitcoms (half&half, the parkers, sex and the city) don't really have any new stuff I can recommend. Maybe the sandman? I haven't watched season 2 but I felt like season 1 was really good
