The first time I read this fic I think I was still living at my mums house.

Or I at least still had a job.

I worked in a popular cosmetic retail pharmacy in Australia for a few years.

I've always had anxiety, social or other wise.

But then bad things happened at that job.

Customers abused me, coworkers mistreated me. The system betrayed me.

I was physically threatened by my supervisor, a family friend who had originally gotten me that job, after she denied my disability (ADHD, "you're not in a wheelchair you're fine") and she went around to people outside of the workplace, my mother included, telling them I'm a r*t*rd and a fuckwit and when I took the situation to HR, they made me redundant.

That was 3 years ago.

My anxiety developed to the point of a General Anxiety Disorder diagnosis and Agoraphobia.

I get everything delivered. I set up the delivery to not need a signature. I wait until the postman is gone to answer the door.

I can't go out alone unless I mentally prepare for it for days.

And even then I go through self check out if I can.

And that's only a recent development.

This story, this chapter, reading "you're not broken" in the context of the same issue I have, was so validating.
