These two kids are Hamza (the oldest) and Qusai (the youngest).

Their mother shares this video and bids them goodbye. They were both killed by Israeli bombardment 5 days ago. She says:

[Two days before Hamza and Qusai were killed, hamza asked me: "mom, when we die, where will I go?" And I told him: "you will be a bird in heaven, my love." He said: "and Qusai?" "Just like you inshallah."

And indeed, two days later, he left and took his brother with him. It's like he was preparing me for saying goodbye to both of them. Heaven is more beautiful than any place on this Earth, habibi. We will meet and be reunited one day, me, your dad and you two].

Our kids don't deserve to die already thinking about what will happen to them, they don't deserve to die already terrified, anticipating their death because the world failed them and decided their lives mean nothing. We are not numbers. Remember their names and their stories.

there has been more moments than i can count in the past seven months where i felt destroyed by all the death and carnage i've seen due to the colonialism and imperialism of the world. but there was something in particular about hind's death that made me think the world would stop turning bc how could anything continue given how gruesome and inhumane her death was? and yet, the world did not stop. and i thought we were once again left to remember her story only in our minds as she became another number, as her murderers went on killing unpunished, and as her mother grieved with rage when all she wanted was to keep her daughter warm and as safe as she could manage in this man-made hell on earth.

however, hind, a girl who only got to experience her kindergarten graduation, is now being immortalized in universities across the nation. her story did resonate to the masses and we will not let her be forgotten nor forgive those complicit in her death. real justice would be having hind alive, but these students are showing that they will stop the world and burn the status quo it upholds to the ground if it means her people can truly be liberated.

you’re not protecting """minorities""" or """poc""" either. not when the candidate is a cop whose administration has already funneled billions of dollars into the police and the military, who is priding herself on wanting to create the most lethal military, on being tougher on the border&immigration than trump, who is happily continuing to perpetuate racist atrocity propaganda to justify the mass slaughter of palestinians, who continues to reaffirm and support the escalation of imperialism and war even elsewhere in the so-called middle east, who is gladly seeking (and securing) endorsements by racist white supremacist republicans (like dick fucking cheney. come on), whose administration has been for four years enthusiastically accelerating the climate crisis, whose campaign has been littered with examples of both their supporters and the politicians themselves being virulently racist. you’re not protecting us. you’re not helping us.

your candidate wants us dead. your candidate wants me dead. your candidate wants my people in iran dead. your candidate wants my sister peoples in palestine and in lebanon dead. your candidate is actively orchestrating their slaughter.

Suddenly, a week after his birth, my child Abdul Aziz's belly swelled up a lot and I visited several doctors without discovering the reason.. After another week of the child's suffering, I took him to a specialized hospital and the doctors there discovered a blockage in Abdul Aziz's colon that prevented him from excreting stool.. It was decided to perform a surgical operation consisting of an opening in Abdul Aziz's belly to temporarily remove stool from his intestines until the affected part of the colon was removed in another complex surgical operation that cost thousands of dollars..😭😭

I am speaking to you now with great sadness about my child's condition and I ask you to help me and donate to me to collect the costs of the operation within a month from now.

How does one adequately explain to USAmericans that their entire political apparatus is solidly in the grip of what they would call "Nazis"? That their donation posts are basically just leaving supplies outside of Auschwitz for the emaciated inmates to look at while they're gassed to death (and they're starting to hate us for it)? That all Israel has to do now to kill all 2 million of them is to fuck off and let them die of injuries, dehydration and starvation (there's very little food, water and medical supplies left), but they won't do that because they're having too much fun blowing shit up? That the longer it goes on, the closer it gets to exploding into an entire regional conflagration of war? Which will precipitate an oil crisis that will make everyone nostalgic for the one in 1973 that collapsed the global economy, leading the US and UK to go up in flames by next year?

Oh and the rest of us in the global South are going to starve too?

Don't forget Biden has auctioned off the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska to an unprecedented fracking project forecasted to tip the earth over the edge of climate collapse. And they're definitely going to do it because WAR and OIL CRISIS. (Also Rishi Sunak something something oil regulations, I forget, it's really bad.)

I really want someone to tell me this is just doomerism, but there's something fatalistic about trying to explain what a genocide looks like to the only people in the imperial core that can do something about it, except they can only visualise it as people with swastika armbands herding people into gas chambers. And the fact that they've been infighting on the internet so long that they no longer know how to connect with generational movements that know how to organise.

How do I keep this dying plant alive?

I think it's an African Violet but I'm not 100% sure. It was a bit lopsided and wonky when I got it but since then it's gotten worse and lost a ton of leaves. I don't know what's wrong. Maybe it's the cold?

Any and all advice welcome because I don't know how to take care of plants like at all
