i see "men bad" jokes as very similar to suicide jokes. like making them every once in a while isn't the worst thing, but if you Keep making them constantly. it DOES shape how you start thinking and you WILL become a more unpleasant and bitter person and also make people around you uncomfortable. and sometimes you just gotta choose to not make or engage with certain jokes, even if they are amusing to you, because its just not who you wanna be
#reblog#masculinity#sooo I actually tend to dislike the all men are bad takes#and ik ive had to use some of that verbage to get to the point of political discussions that disproportionately favor cis hetero white men#and it sucks#I can understand to a degree painting with a broad brush but it completely removes the point when you are still ostracizing an entire group#over characteristics they cannot control#for every one “bad' man there are hundreds of ”good' men. generalization hurts more than helps in the wider scheme of things#it just feels like a major reason as to why exteremist subsections of movements have more of a platform#and I agree that making these jokes to shape how you think since then youre reinforcing and normalizing that idea#and that goes for any topic. gender. sexuality. race. ethnicity. culture. mental health. physical health. etc#id rather not make these jokes or be around people who make them regularly#since hating a group of people or even just yourself has never made a change for the better

The latest 11.0 update means that Google Analytics is a thing on the switch and turned on. What that means is that Nintendo has a deal with Google to share with them your data for advertisement purposes.
To turn it off
go to the eShop
go to your profile where your funds and account info is
go down to the bottom of the page
there you will see “Google Analytics Preferences”
select the Change
select “Don’t Share”
Please spread the word. Really shitty of Nintendo to just quietly start allowing Google to spy on users for advertising.

its true that complimenting strangers is fun and nice. people will go "awwww really" when you say their hair is cute. people will go "thanks" and straighten up a little when you compliment the colors they're wearing. people will say "oh yeah i got it at (place)" if you say a charm on their bag is cool. people really do appreciate it and its very whimsy and you can just do this for free

This is especially frustrating because the only reason we know the wind speed is because NOAA's Hurricane Hunters literally fly into the hurricane and collect vital data. They fly in and out of the storm over and over in 8 hour shifts.
This brave team flies two identical Lockheed P3s called Kermit and Miss Piggy.
You can see the dangling ornaments in the videos to determine which plane they are in.
And when I say they fly into the hurricane, I mean they fly *into* the hurricane.
Here they are in the eye of Milton.
And here they are in the eye of Irma.

As you may notice, this flight was in Kermit.
So the next time you see live data about a hurricane's wind speed and pressure, just remember how that was collected and don't be a giant turd about it.
And please vote because conservatives want to kill NOAA.

saddest thing ever is seeing new 18-22 year olds talk about how Christmas doesn't feel magical anymore during their transition from it being a super special day of the year to kinda just another average day of the year. I remember that feeling well, and I just want to say to those young people specifically: if you want the magic back you have to create it yourself now, the way you want to. it's your magic now
