just noticed that all of the characters doors are on one side of the hallway. except pomni. whos door is on the other side. which is the side kaufmos door was on
#tadc#this likely doesnt mean anything but like#i am always on the lookout for weird little bits of symbolism in things#and this is interesting to me....#idk what it would even mean but now im thinking about it#i feel like its also worth noting?#that pomnis room is directly across from jax'#and gangles room is directly across from kaufmos#im def reading too much into it but like. room placement in universe is def random#considering pomnis is before kaufmo but theres more before hers too#and that gangles is after zoobles despite zooble being newer#so inuniverse ud expect the doors to be more randomly placed and not all but one on the same side#even queenies door is on the same side as the rest of them

Congratulations you made it to the wedding between me and Kaufmo (aka my 100 day anniversary officially simping for Kaufmo)
Happy July 1st (art fight is haunting me) (side note I ramble in the tags)
To start of let’s watch several silly CapCut edit before getting into the wedding art
⚠️❗️WARNING FOR LOUD SCREAMING/SOUNDS❗️⚠️
Thank again @leafryoworks for the offer of letting me use one of their Kaufmo art for an edit
Original art post by leafy link here
Now that the edit are over you can have a silly terrible Terrible doodle as well. (I can’t bring Kaufmo amazing ness justice with my art but I try. Also I had no idea what to do for poses help)
Didn’t put Kaufmo in a black and white tuxedo because the color are apart of his charm(I was lazy)
We had to change wedding officiant to ( @saytrrose/) kenji rose because kinger couldn’t take Jax and gangle interrupting anymore. (They called dibs after all)
And of course can’t forget to our friends leafy. It’s like I can still hear them now.
(they just have school this week so they couldn’t see the post until this Weekend) imagine having school you nerd/ /silly /joke
Oh and also
Kaufmo gallery update: 520

Thank for viewing my silly wedding post about Kaufmo. I will continue to simp for a clown like a loser.
And remember everyone

According to Gooseworx, Jax as a song is "Don't Fence Me In..."
Looking at Jax as someone who wants and values freedom above anything else definitely clarifies /why/ he would be drawn to something like TADC. His impulsive actions that prioritize instant gratification above everything else can be seen as him embracing the “freedom” of the digital world. But it also introduces an interesting contradiction as TADC is a place defined by its constraints.
In TADC, you can't change your appearance. You can't decide what to eat or when. You can’t swear or smoke or have sex. You can’t change the lighting or temperature. You can't age or die. Every day is the same and what is allowed is beyond your control, ultimately decided by people you don't know and will never meet.
Looking at it this way, being trapped in TADC is hell for Jax because of the constraint it imposes upon him. To cope, he immerses himself in what TADC offers - a chance to act in ways that would be unfeasible without considerable risk of repercussion IRL. But these actions are also a constant reminder of what TADC cannot provide him - genuine freedom.
#chatter.txt#jax posting#I cannot think of a more “fenced in” life than what the TADC cast has going on#if we analyze jax w/ ‘freedom’ in mind it’s also very apparent he imposes a lot of restrictions on himself!#negative emotions are only expressed through destructive behaviors#(see: Candy Canyon Chaos and note how his antics are book-ended by a funeral service for Kaufmo which he SKIPS)#positive emotions are only allowed if they’re in response to other ppl’s misfortune (see: the whole show)#no one’s telling him - you can’t cry. you can’t laugh. you can’t show weakness. you have to be tough.#we don’t know anything about jax's past (both IRL and circus-side)#but we've been shown TADC excels at exacerbating ppl’s preexisting hangups#so i find all of it fascinating.#“send me off forever but i ask you please. don't fence me in.” <- please don't make me sad about the purple guy#gooseworx i'm begging you.

so I'm re watching pilot and

i saw this
there obviously is an exit that Caine is trying to hide, it's pretty obvious from the entire "DIGITAL HALLUCINATIONS" thing with pomni. this got my REALLY curious tho.
how do they abstract? do they really just go insane and eventually lose sense of reality? (key word is eventually). or does some big THING happen? my guess is that it's always the same thing. charactar find exit, Caine goes crazy and charactar loses their mind. Caine has control over everything, so he definately knew about kaufmo. I mean, he literally said. "one of the few things I dont have control over are your minds"so he knew thar kaufmo abstracted. I'm really curious to see more abstraction thingys it's so fascinating.

Pomni, Kinger, Caine & Jax's reaction to their s/o abstracting
warning(s): angst, hurt no comfort, self-blame, "death" of the reader, implied "death"/abstraction of another character (spoiler: Kinger), hopeful outcome note(s): There's nothing incredibly heavy or detailed, just tread carefully if "death" is something you are sensitive to, please. The "hopeful outcome" implies that Caine will at some point in time be able to fix those who've abstracted. A/N: I was feeling particularly cruel and wanted to write some angst, this came to mind and I'll be honest. I made myself a little sad.
Pomni
She never saw it coming, of course, you were acting different lately but she didn’t think it would… lead to you abstracting…
It took forever for things to get some semblance of normalcy, and you being with her was a major part of it.
Sure the relationship in a place like this was a bit, weird, but you cared about her, and she cared about you.
You kept her sane and grounded, so when you were found abstracted? It felt like she failed you.
Ragatha tries to assure her that you aren’t completely gone. Like Kaufmo you’re being kept in the cellar. Caine claims the abstracted are being kept there until he can find a way to “fix” them. (Whether he’s genuine or not though, none of them know.)
It’s all empty promises though, she still feels like she failed you.
Kinger
Not again…
Kinger silently promised himself not again, he was fine being friendly with everyone else that fell into the circus, but he had no intentions of being more than that.
But then you happened, and while he was still in shambles from the time and the insanity spent here, you were there beside him. Like a knight in shining armor.
He hadn’t been around when you abstracted, in fact, he didn’t know you abstracted until there was yelling, and boom an abstraction was causing chaos.
Kinger didn’t know who it was until it was sent off to the cellar, actually, he didn’t know who it was until he realized everyone was present except you.
There’s a high probability that losing someone again, losing you, is what ends up being his own downfall. The other’s (not including Jax) try their all to get him to calm down but it’s not enough, it’s too late…

Caine
Of all the humans to be pulled in he never once got attached.
This was never supposed to happen, he’s incapable of love.
Caine does his best to keep the humans from abstracting, and as many eyes as he has over the place, there are always ones that slip through his grasp.
Of course, he’s not around when you abstract, it takes a bunch of hooting and hollering from everyone before he shows up and oh hey an abstraction.
At an immediate glance, he knows it’s you, abstractions never remotely look like the person they were before but he knows it’s you. You don’t recognize him as you lash out, of course you don’t, you can’t.
He’s unsure about tossing you with the others in the cellar, there’s nowhere else he can truthfully keep you without causing problems. So into the cellar, you go.
Caine visits you though, not for long but he does check in on you. Not that anything changes, but out of all the abstractions down there, he knows exactly which one is you.
You’ll be the first human he fixes as soon as he’s able to.
Jax
His s/o abstracted? Nice joke, though it’s in poor taste. You’re completely fine, he just saw you earlier.
Jax doesn’t believe it until he sees it, and seeing it absolutely ruins him. He’s seen countless others get abstracted and thrown into the cellar, but why, why does it have to be you?
Why couldn’t it have been literally anyone else? He didn’t give a shit about anyone else, the one person he cared for, and you…
Similarly to Pomni, he feels it’s his fault like he could’ve, no should’ve done more. Was he so wrapped up in everything else that he didn’t notice the signs? Why didn’t you talk to him? You didn’t, didn’t do that on purpose, did you?
For the first time ever, the others are genuinely worried about Jax, they all saw/know how much you meant to him. The two of you even spoke fondly about what the two of you would do if you got out of the circus.
For a while Jax becomes even more irrational and unhinged, they try not to hold it against him too badly, even when he oversteps. He’s grieving and none of them know just how long that’ll go on.
Jax isn’t quite the same afterward, but he makes sure that nobody else tries to worm their way into his heart.
If it’s possible, he’ll make sure Caine fixes you the second he’s able to. Even if Caine can fix only one person, it’s going to be you.

okay i NEED to talk about something that's been driving me INSANE since the very first episode of the amazing digital circus.
okay so. in the first episode, when caine snaps his fingers to bring Ragatha back to normal, the scene places a strange amount of emphasis on the fact that this action also causes pomni's hand to go back to normal even though caine didn't know anything was wrong with her.
why?
well, y'know the gloink queen? she never actually... dies. kaufmo falls on her, causing her to spit out zooble, beats her up, glitches her out, but she's never destroyed. even as the gang leaves the gloink caves, you can hear her screaming.
she glitches out, but she's never destroyed.
and when caine snapped his fingers, everything stopped glitching, and they wanted to make sure you'd notice that.
but like. she's the gloink queen. she's just a tutorial boss. she's obviously not gonna come back, right? how would that even work? twist reveal that she was the mastermind all along?
then episode two came out, and my suspicions grew. episode two has a whole scene introducing a new character, The Fudge. The Fudge then dies via a truck from the sky, something that tragically happens all too often. The Fudge is never relevant again.
at the end of the episode, it's revealed that Jax left the gate open anyway, the Fudge survived, and he is now terrorizing the kingdom...
but... this is of absolutely no consequence. it's completely irrelevant. the gang just leaves.
okay so that's TWO big gloopy monsters that have a strange amount of emphasis placed on the fact they survived despite the fact that this never winds up addressed in the episode.
okay. so how about episoOh My God.
AGAIN. they have two whole shots dedicated to showing you that the creature survived, with scare chords and everything, and yet this STILL never comes up again!!!!!! what!! the hell!!! and fuck!!!!!
we've also had an entire episode focused on the concept of NPCs, and NPCs becoming self-aware.
so these monsters are obviously going to come back at some point. they HAVE TO. it'd be utterly ridiculous for them not to!
i just needed to get this off my chest. i need SOMEONE to know this.!!!! okay, bye!
bonus note: Gloink Queen says "GOD will be gloinks!" at the end of her evil monologue. we didn't know this at the time, but all of the NPCs refer to Caine as God.

Gotta say the new digital circus episode slapped and imma have to rewatch it to unpack all that
However one thing I did notice that I find interesting is how while in the pilot people were noting the dynamics being opposite between Ragatha and Jax (I had noticed too tbh), but now with the second episode? I think if anyone's gonna be a parallel/foil to Jax it's gonna be Zooble.
We see right off the bat Zooble refuses to participate in any of the adventures, and presume they're distant or "edgy" or whatnot because of that, but episode two proves that seems to be the opposite. They're the one who set up Kaufmo's funeral, and make it so everyone can come together and remember Kaufmo (it's important to note they're the latest arrival before Pomni, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't have witnessed abstraction before). They engage with others, and really keep the real, human feelings about what's pretty much death
Jax, on the other hand? Dives right first into the adventures, doesn't care about the others' feelings, and needs intense situations. However, he's completely distant from the others, really driven home by the fact he doesn't even bother to attend the funeral.
The takeaway I got from it is Jax needs escapism to cope, while Zooble refuses to engage with this. On the other side, Zooble copes by trying to stay connected to "reality" and the feelings that come with it, while Jax doesn't wanna touch that with a ten foot pole

hey guys. did you know that pomni has 354 words of dialogue in the pilot, which makes up 14.38% of all words spoken in the episode (of which there are 2462 words in total)? her word count of 354 beats the average word count of all characters in the pilot (not counting the sun, who does not make any sound- kaufmo was counted, however, as he does vocalize) by 130.18 words, since the average word count for each character in the pilot is 223.82
the character who speaks the most in the pilot is caine, who has 710 spoken words of dialogue, making up 28.84% of all words in the pilot, and surpassing the average word count by 486.18 words
The character who speaks the least is kaufmo, who speaks 0 words (but he does make 9 noises, and with the word count including noises for the whole episode being 2543- making the total 81 'words' higher and changing every percentage- causes him to make up 0.35% of the words+sounds total in the episode, and puts him at 222.18 words+sounds below average)
aside from characters lacking speaking roles, the moon says 5 words, which is 0.20% of all words spoken in the episode and 2457 words below average
of the proper main cast, bubble and gangle speak the least, at 42 (1.71%) and 65 (2.64%) words respectively. bubble speaks 181.82 words less than the average and gangle speaks 158.82 words less than the average
i did not include dr football
#tadc#the amazing digital circus#yeah here have this#im gonna do this for all episodes overall#then make some charts maybe...#i can make a chart for episode 1 right now though :)#i have a lot more numbers than this btw i just found the fun stuff#well. fun to me#note for the future:#i didnt include dr football or the sun and im making it so characters listed in credits are the only ones included#that does mean i probably shouldnt count kaufmo#but hes only even in the counts that dooont mean a lot... hm#i think i might just go with#'character must exist in-universe and must have a voice'#and yknow what yeah even though dr football has a voice#he literally only exists for a bit#this does apply to the moon but the moon also has a listed va#i think priority goes to characters listed in the credits (the moon falls under additional voices)#and then a character that isnt in the credits can be counted if theyre actually relevant to multiple scenes and not just a bit#this is all very convoluted i just dont wanna redo numbers

SPOILER TADC EPISODE 4 ANALYSIS BELOW
so, generally, these episodes keep getting better and better. one is with the facial expressions, pomni’s and jax’s especially felt very nuanced and added more opportunity to read their characters. but i do also mean writing-wise.
this episode definitely felt like it gave us a much larger glimpse into these characters as people:
while she’s “high,” ragatha mentions a lot of things (horses, dancing, etc.) that seem to be memories of her past life. she’s also more genuine about her feelings regarding the other characters, saying that especially harsh thing of gangle being more annoying with her comedy mask. generally, we’re getting more of a peek at how ragatha feels internally.
zooble is given a chance to be a bit more of the straight-person or the emotional stability for other characters to lean on, and is just more present than ever before.
pomni hasn’t evolved as much from her previous characterization, but she’s more in a position this time to be stable and not in constant mental peril.
jax is forcibly toned down as the day goes on, his underlayer of apathy and depression beginning to take over for his usual sadistic vigor.
there’s so many examples with gangle, but i’ll be getting into those later.
notably, especially by the end of the day, the humans aren’t acting like it’s the end of their adventure, but the end of an actual shift, as if this is their actual job that they drive from to their actual home somewhere. i find this interesting, especially for someone like pomni, who seems to take the idea of closing the shift most seriously—as if it’s real—despite her previously being the one most conscious about the artificiality of the adventures. i think this speaks to how in a normal setting, the characters kind of assimilate into it much quicker; the normalcy of this artificial mockery of real life attracts them as respite from the existential dread in being in a world that isn’t theirs. it also seems to awaken a bit more of their underlying selves.
pomni and gummigoo, man that was a powerful scene. we had all been dreading it, but i think i was pleasantly surprised at how mature and quiet pomni was in handling the situation—so many in the fandom tend to kinda infantilize her and so assumed that when she’d see gummigoo that she’d have some sort of breakdown, but the more frazzled and nuanced reaction she actually had feels much more realistic and true to her character.
i noticed gummigoo at least has the same name as before, as when pomni speaks it he reacts by reaching his hand out with some expression of concern. some have interpreted his mannerisms in this episode as that he actually remembered pomni and his previous self when she called his name but didn’t want to say anything to make the situation more complicated, which isn’t exactly 100% confirmed but is a cool theory regardless. i just really like him as a character in general, so it’s cool to see him again.
and i also really like how pomni’s interaction with him ended on a resolute and bittersweet note. like yeah, she’s definitely sad over the situation, but she’s not completely heartbroken—she seems glad to just have seen him again, even if he didn’t quite remember their time together beforehand. her feelings when seeing him are equally positive and negative, not this abject heartbreak that makes her drown in sorrow. she’s even briefly sorta infatuated with him at the counter, which is fun considering how ragatha on an offhand comment basically confirms funnygummy to be canon.
gotta say, maybe a little sadistic, i like seeing jax actually frightened. it seems like the only thing that ends up bringing out any remote amount of good in him, which we implicitly saw in episode 1 when he seemingly pulls gangle and kinger away from the kaufmo situation (perhaps out of fear for their safety?). i’m hoping we get to see his facade further broken down.
ragatha being high was really funny and very intriguing, as we get more of a glimpse at her “true self” underneath her mary-sue-esque facade.
zooble, i love zooble, man. i think to an extent they’re possibly one of the more heartwarming characters in the whole show just on the merit that their “coolness” isn’t quite a facade to distance themself like jax and they actually show care for their friends. i feel like zooble is less of a character we’ll need a dedicated episode for, and moreso one that will consistently show a bit more of themselves throughout.
and then
GANGLE.
i love how many layers there are to gangle’s “dissection” this episode. we see a glimpse into an excellent representation of bipolar disorder and manic episodes, and so much beyond that with her specifically. i love how her mention of the comic artist thing in jax’s “training video” was clearly a projection of her insecurities over her inability to chase her dreams in her past life, which is set up in the beginning by her mentioning her experience as a shift manager. the adventure’s promise of “normalcy”—a relief from her emotional instability, perhaps—quickly devolves into the horror of being left alone with your thoughts and surrounded by the infinite horizon of crushed dreams and mediocrity, that being the spudsy’s itself.
this adventure clearly awoke some old memories of her past life, making her wallow further in her grief over her not being perfect or excelling all the time. i found it amazing how well the pacing of the episode was able to add these layers one scene at a time to build up both the viewer’s understanding of gangle’s struggles and gangle’s struggles building up with the increasing stress of her job.
that scene at the end with her dancing into the traffic felt very reminiscent of a certain scene in DanDaDan episode 7 (i won’t spoil any of that). it’s interesting how happy she appears, yet it’s revealed to be a suicidal moment in some manners—her joy is derived from a destruction of self and the feelings of pressures being lifted that comes with that. when she throws the weird mask away, she’s lifting the burdens of “normalcy” and social responsibility off of herself, and her joy is not necessarily happiness itself but a cathartic feeling of being able to have a true moment of her own. it highlights, perhaps, why people engage in self-destructive behavior—it lets them let go of the burdens and expectations weighing on them, even for a moment.
i like the touch of how this moment doesn’t actually end in making her feel better—she ends up devastated over how she “ruined” everything by having that moment and being emotionally “selfish” for once. zooble makes her realize that no one is mad at her for having that moment (although the circus might be pissed over her time being all of their boss). i do find that in particular interesting, as it’s sort of a continuation of the sentiment both ragatha and jax express that they find gangle more tolerable with her tragedy mask. they’re unkind words, but the episode, and zooble’s moment of comforting her makes clear why those two were saying that—gangle is more of her “true self” without these overlaying masks (with the mask in this episode specifically, i think it represents the expectations of success and normalcy that capitalistic society imposes on us). it’s not that it’s wrong or unwarranted for gangle to want a happier mask, but the show demonstrates that gangle is the most genuine with her tragedy mask, when she has shed the masks that present her as being “acceptable” in a way that actally makes everyone more distant from her.
the “normalcy” of this adventure seemed to be what got to gangle, as the societal expectations of “normalcy” that come with that might have been gangle’s biggest struggle in her previous life. i love that ironically, the two characters that read the most “normal”—pomni and zooble—actually end up being the ones that connect with her, not to demonstrate that normalcy is good but the opposite: expectations of “fitting in” are bullshit, no one fits in or needs to, and pomni and zooble are demonstrating that.
one more thing i have to mention is i actually like how the show is aware of the pattern of “pomni sits and has a heartfelt conversation with another character in the dark at the act 2 low point” of episodes 2 and 3, and breaks the pattern during that scene with pomni and gangle outside in two ways, one of which being pomni’s “here we go again” attitude with the scenario when it begins, and how gangle forcibly ends the conversation before it gets too far for comfort, leaving the emotional resolution a bit more ambiguous and taking more of a journey to get resolved by the end.
my rambles only make slight bits of sense, but i hope you found something interesting to talk about in here. chat with me in the comments if ya want!

something about kinger being in the circus "the longest" and him still openly caring about the other members and striving to be kind to them makes me emotional actually.
like yes the scene where he comforts ragatha but also the "pomni, take this" scenes. putting a bucket on ragatha's head after jax's licorice-hair comment -- said in front of a monster that eats candy people. winning rock-paper-scissors and being so excited to get to help zooble. remarking "oh, thank GOD you're okay," when zooble gets ejected from the gloink queen. he can be a great source of comfort in his moments of lucidity, but even when he's not quite there, he really does try his best to protect his friends -- even if his efforts come across as goofy or nonsensical.
I find it especially interesting that these moments are really the only times he actively involves himself in the adventures. yes he makes a few comments here and there, but when he isn't trying to help someone, he tends to just let things happen around him. he's largely absent in most of episode one (mostly because he seems to be freaking out about his own safety -- and granted, we don't know whether or not he was just having an especially bad day, but I think it's worth noting) and he doesn't get involved with the adventure at all until he's told to find zooble. he's also shown to be very observant of the people around him, like how he accurately predicted that kaufmo had completely lost it, when no one else picked up on the signs.
more than anything, though, I think kinger's conversation with ragatha shows some of his philosophy when it comes to the other players. "it's a lot for anybody to go through; don't take it too personally," is likely a learned sentiment -- and consciously or not, I think he doesn't have any bad blood with the other members (see: kinger being the only one (from what we've seen so far) that jax doesn't actively torment) because he understands why they act the way they do and doesn't hold it against them. everyone copes differently, and like I said before, he's very observant, especially when it comes to the emotions of others.
and idk. I just think it's nice the longest standing member of the circus didn't survive this long by learning not to care.
#i think it says something about him#that even through all his issues#his memory his stability how many people hes lost how long hes been there#that his compassion for other members is so unwavering#even if his efforts are. comically stupid. hes still trying and i do think that means a lot in a world where nothing *really* matters.#anyway. can you tell who my favorite character is JSHFKSKCKD#the amazing digital circus#tadc#tadc kinger

Looking at it this such an oddly nice room... I don't know why but I expected it to be more goofy looking?
What she say? O_O
#tadc#pomni#then again the only room we saw is kaufmo's if i remember correctly so maybe its hard to draw a comparison -#considering the state of kaufmo himself reflected on his room with all his scribbles#maybe caine wants them to have a good time by giving them fancy rooms? or maybe this is more of a reflection (lmao) on pomni herself -#- and what kind of place SHE would feel more comfortable in? 🤔#reflecting reflecting#worth noting that it IS still very empty in spite of everything. at least from this angle#the curtains.... THERES NO WINDOWS😭 WHAT WILL YOU USE THEM FOR
