“Shit, fuck,” you heard your girlfriend say when you entered your shared apartment. Kate swore like a trucker, so that was no surprise to hear, but her worried tone made you realize something was wrong. You toed off your shoes and gently closed the door behind you. No one heard you come in, not even your girlfriend’s four-legged companion. The dog was trying to provide some comfort to his distraught owner. The archer was on the couch, her hands covering her face and leaning back.
“Katie girl,” you said softly, not wanting to startle the girl, and sat down next to her. Lucky’s ears pricked up at your sudden appearance, but he kept his head on Kate’s lap. “What’s wrong?” she threw her hands to the side with a huff.
“Problem at the blood bank,” she mumbled. Her left leg started to bounce. “Tony can’t get any.” Ah, there it was. She was hungry.
“When was the last time you ate?” You whispered, even though no one else was in the apartment.
“Last week, maybe. I can’t remember. It’s been busy,” Kate was right. Usually, you were better at picking up on her cues when she was hungry. But you were stretched thing with helping the Avengers and Yelena. “Tony said it might come in tomorrow or the day after, but I-”
“You’re hungry,” you placed your hand on the back of her neck and gave it a comforting squeeze. The contrasting temperature of her skin against yours was one of your favorite things about dating Kate. You knew the archer was different the moment you were introduced to her. With your enhanced senses, you could never hear a heartbeat and never hear her inhale air into her lungs. Sometimes, you caught her eyes flickering from blue to red—her healing ability was on par with or better than yours.
You became fascinated with the archer, and a close friendship turned into you asking her out on a date. She told you the truth about what she was: a vampire. The Bishop family can be traced back to the 18th century.
Sometimes, you forget how powerful your girlfriend is. Most of the time, she was gentle and soft. She was easy to fluster, and she stumbled over her words when you told her how beautiful she looked. She was your Katie girl, the best dog mom, and a little clumsy from time to time. Under all that, she was a predator, and predators needed to be fed.
Which led to the current predicament. Her kind stopped feeding on humans centuries ago due to the donation of blood banks; Tony was in charge of all the paperwork. She was an animal lover and hated the idea of hunting. Besides, she told you that blood tastes weird if the animal had a disease. The same was said for humans. Humans poured junk into their bodies - drugs, alcohol, even vitamins, and it could be tasted in their blood. Clean blood is hard to come by, Kate said.
However, that got you thinking about what you tasted like. You knew you smelt good to her. On movie nights, her nose would be pressed against your neck, and her deep inhales and exhales caused goosebumps to form on your skin. She said you smelt earthy, like the smell of rain - a dampened forest, a mixture of pine and mass. The deep, earthy scent of the Earth after a storm.
Maybe it was wrong to fantasize how it would feel to have her drink from you. The sharp pinch of her teeth and the way she would be filled with your blood. You pushed those selfish thoughts away. “You know,” you said slowly, playing with the baby hairs that couldn’t be pulled into her ponytail. “You could drink from me.” Kate physically recoiled away from you. Your hand fell to the couch.
“No,” she snapped.
“Baby,” you tried to move closer to her, but she stopped you. “You can’t hurt me.”
“We don’t know that,” she countered. Yes, but you’ve endured worse injuries. Even Professor Xavier was impressed with your healing ability. It was as good as Logan’s. There was one time you traveled from Russia way back to the city with a piece of rebar in your side. You were proud of yourself, and you only passed out once.
“You need to eat. I bet you are starting to get a headache,” she allowed you to touch her temples and massage the area. She moaned quietly at the relief. “My little bat,” you cooed. “Aren’t you a little curious about what I taste like?” Her eyes turned red, and every bit of blue was gone, as she looked at the vein in your neck.
“Do you want me to bite you?” Her voice shook. Her resolve was breaking.
“I wouldn’t have offered if I wasn’t 100% okay with it,” you wondered if she could hear your heartbeat. The very idea of it sent your body into overdrive. You were excited, nervous, and maybe a little turned on.
“Okay,” she whispered.
“Okay,” you repeated.
*
Kate brought Lucky upstairs and locked him in your shared room with a Kong, bones, and toys. You changed into a white tank top and a pair of sweatpants. You sat on the couch, patiently waiting for Kate. Tapping your hands on your thighs, you took a few deep breaths to calm yourself down. “You can change your mind,” you turned to see Kate. She also changed into one of your shirts and sleep shots. “I can hear your heart pounding from upstairs.” You chuckled.
“Just anxious,” you told her as she sat beside you. “Just don’t go all Dracula on me.” The archer glared at you.
“I hate that movie,” she said. “It ruined the image of my kind.” You laughed and cupped her cheek.
“I’m sorry, baby, I trust you,” you kissed her softly. “It’s okay. Feed.” You felt her letting out a shaky exhale against your lips.
“Stay still, okay?” You nodded and tried to control your breathing as she leaned into your neck. You expected her to sink her teeth into your skin. Instead, you felt her lips kiss the spot, gently soothing the area with her tongue. It was a nice gesture, but it did not help the beating of your heart. Her cold fingers touched the vein. “Just stay still,” she repeated. “I-” she stopped before she could finish her sentence and sunk her teeth into you.
“Shit,” you grunted in pain, face contracting briefly. Soon, it was replaced with pleasure that washed over your entire body.
You remembered Kate telling you how intimate it was to drink from a person. It was why she tried to avoid it even when it was allowed. This feeling was euphoric, something you’ve experienced before. Her lips on your neck as she sucked and fed on you was sending you into a spiral. Adrenaline was pumping through your veins, and you loved it. You were addicted to it.
You grabbed the nap of her neck and pulled her against you, demanding her to be closer. Her hand moved to your chest, pinning you to the couch. It was a silent reminder to stay still, but the sudden display of strength caused your hips to buckle.
“I said,” she detached herself from your neck. “Stay still,” she licked the wound she created. “Shit,” she said in disbelief. “You do heal fast.” You chuckled and turned to look at her. Her eyes were slowly returning to their normal color, but she needed more. Without any words, you pulled her onto your lap. She gasped at the sudden movement.
“Then bite me again,” you whispered, breathlessly. Kate looked you over, probably checking to make sure you were okay with continuing. The second bite was much less hesitant, and you knew the type of pain to expect. Instead of holding onto her neck, you moved your hands to her hips. Both of your hips buckled into each other. Her moan rattled through your body.
“Fuck,” your eyes rolled in the back of your head and grabbed her ass. It was on instinct to start moving her hips against you. Your body was on fire. Every sense was Kate. Her cold skin against yours. The soft moans in your ears. The smell of her arousal hit your nose. “So fucking beautiful,” you groaned. Your hands traveled underneath her (your) shirt and covered each inch of her skin with your hands. You pinched one of her nipples, and she removed her teeth from you as a quiet moan ripped through her. Kate’s hips stopped moving as her forehead rested against yours. Her eyes were closed, but her chest was heaving like she ran a marathon.
“Did I tell you to stop?” you asked. Her eyes snapped open. Gone was the red, but they were glossy—a look she only got when you pushed her into a certain headspace. “Awe, my poor baby,” you cooed. Did your head get all fuzzy because you are full of my blood?” She wined, eyes rolling back slightly. “Do you always get wet when you feed?” you joked.
“Do you always get wet when someone bites you?” She used your words against you.
“Cheeky little bat,” you smiled, connecting your lips with hers. You pushed your tongue into your mouth and moaned at the taste of your blood. Shit, when did you turn into a freak? “How do I taste?” It was your turn to press kisses against the column of her throat.
“Sweet,” she began to move her hips against yours. “Like honey,” she chuckled breathlessly. “Better than the blood bags.” You took great pride in that statement. You knew you weren’t the greatest with your body, drowning your past in alcohol and the occasional drug use. It must be the serum she was tasting that ran through your veins. Still, if those were going to be a recurring trend, you made a promise to yourself to treat your body better.
“I guess you have your personal blood bag,” you teased, and your hand moved over the top of her shorts. “Shit, baby,” you ran the tip of your fingers over her folds and collected the wetness. “You’re soaked.” Her head fell to your shoulder.
“Please,” the archer mumbled. A simple kiss to your neck sent a shiver of anticipation down your spine.
“Please, what, Katie girl?” You teased. “Use that pretty mouth of yours and tell me.” She huffed and sat up straighter to look down at you.
“Need-” A moan interrupted her as you began to rub her clit. It was such a beautiful sound that made your clit throb. “Need your fingers.” She added a pout and gave you her best puppy dog eyes she could muster; you chuckled and applied more pressure.
“My fingers?” You questioned with a confused tilt of your head. “You have my fingers. I’m touching you right now. Is this not enough?” You were being mean. You knew it was hard for her to form words when she got like this. But you would give it to her. All she had to do was say it.
“Inside,” she groaned, her hips became frantic. “Need your fingers inside. Need to cum all over them.” Bingo. There it was. Usually, it took her longer, but she must be desperate for release. With how busy it has been, you haven’t had time for this.
“Good girl,” you praised. She was wet enough to slip two fingers inside her easily. She gasped at the sudden feeling; her hands gripped both your shoulders, and her eyes rolled back. “So wet and warm, baby,” you moaned and pushed her shirt up. “Come on, little bat,” you encouraged. “Take what you need.” She did, and damn, it was a sight to behold.
Kate rode your fingers with a fierce determination to get herself off. She was gorgeous, and you counted yourself to see her like this. Her pussy squeezed your fingers, and the smell of her arousal mixed with her moans and the blood loss was bringing you embarrassingly close without being touched. Ignoring the ache in your wrist, you leaned forward and swirled your tongue around her nipple. You smirked at the gasp.
She was close. All these months together with Kate, you knew her tells. Her hips would begin to stutter and lose their rhythm. She became more vocal. Your girlfriend wasn’t loud during sex, but it always excited you when you could pull a loud moan from her. The final tell was her eyes. The blue of eyes darkened, almost black. It was intoxicating that you were the one giving her this pleasure. She wore your shirt. She fed on your blood. Your fingers were going to make her cum.
“Close,” she moaned. “‘M so fucking close. I need-”
“Take it, baby,” you encouraged. “Take whatever you need.” You expected her to push your hand closer to her so your palm would be against her clit, or she wanted you to kiss her. Instead, she leaned forward and sunk her teeth into your neck.
“Fuck yes,” you moaned and used your free hand to lite Kate up slightly. The sound was obscene. Your fingers moved faster. You felt her witness drip down your hand. “Cum for me, baby, please,” you pleaded. Her body went ridged against you, and you felt the coil snap deep in the pit of your stomach. You kept your fingers moving to help ride out her high and only stopped when she slumped against you. Her teeth released from your neck, and her nose nuzzled against you. Her breath tickled you. “I’m going to pull my fingers out, okay?” You felt her nod. Removing them slowly, you cooed softly as she hissed from the overestimation. “How are you feeling?”
“Better,” she mumbled. Sleepy.” You chuckled and kept her against your chest as you moved to lay follow on the couch. Slowly, you removed the ponytail from her hair and brushed the strands with your fingers. A list of things ran through your mind. You wanted to draw Kate a bath, let Lucky out, and eat something for yourself. Helen would give you a juice box and an orange when you had donated blood.
“Baby,” you hummed, so Kate knew you heard her. She moved so her chin rested on your chest. Her eyes were back to their normal blue—your favorite color. They were like diamonds—calm but bold, warm but cold. They were windows to her soul, and her gaze felt like home. “Thank you. I don’t know what I would do without you.”
“Always,” you smiled. “I love you, my little bat. Now and forever.”

April Fools - Kate Bishop
Pairings: Kate Bishop x Fem! reader.
Warnings: Fluff, romantic comedy, cuteness overload because I miss Kate, reader is Spider-Girl.
Word count: 1765.
Tumblr media
Kate looks up from her place on the couch to see Y/n in the kitchen with Yelena teaching the blonde how to make her favorite dessert, Brazilian brigadeiro, after they made the whole dinner by themselves. Both were entertained as Y/n made little balls of chocolate and rolled on the sprinkles, completely unaware that Kate is observing Y/n’s every move.
“You look like a stalker,” Clint said next to her, making her, reluctantly, look at him with a questioning look. “Have you ever realized how much you stare Y/n? Every time move she makes is caught because you look at her like a motion detection camera.”
Kate opens her mouth to say something, but it closes quickly. There is nothing she can tell Clint to get out of this position, he caught her, and both know it. The raise of his eyebrow is enough evidence.
“Don’t you think it would be easier if you just talked to her?” He continues to question.
“She is my best friend, Clint.” Kate sighs, looking over her shoulder and seeing Y/n hand Yelena one small chocolate ball, the blonde caught it looking for a few seconds as if inspecting. “I don’t want to ruin our friendship, it’s better if we stay like this.”
“I think that’s stupid.” He bluntly says, shaking his head and sighing. “And you’ll just keep looking at her like a puppy waiting for an owner?”
“Yes.” She said without thinking much, before turning to him quickly. “Wait, that’s rude!”
“It’s the truth.”
“Oh, this is good!” Yelena says in the kitchen, and Kate looks back at them. Yelena has her eyes wide, one hand holding Y/n’s forearm and the other throwing the rest of the chocolate in her mouth. “This is very very good.”
“Right? Now you understand why it’s my favorite.” Y/n replies with a cute small laugh that makes Kate look at her yearning. “Now c’mon, help me make the rest.”
“She will find out, you’re very bad at hiding.” Clint was vocal again, but this time he was getting up, about to stop the commotion in the kitchen due to Yelena making another brigadeiro just to throw in her mouth. “Hey, get out of there, Yelena.”
“Shut up, these are made to be eaten.” Yelena narrows her eyes at him, challenging him.
“Go sit with Kate, Yelena, I will make some extra for you.” Y/n sighs as she points to the living room. “But only if you sit there and don’t steal more brigadeiros.”
“Fine.” She fake complains and gives Clint a hard stare as if saying ‘don’t you dare eat my damn chocolate’.
“Can you make little balls for me, Clint? I’ll make more for Yelena before she kills someone because of chocolate.” Y/n asks before showing Clint what needs to be done.
“Smart girl, I would not hesitate,” Yelena replies as she sits on the couch where the older archer had been before. “You were staring like a creep, Kate Bishop.”
Kate almost chokes on her saliva as she hears it. Not only her mentor, and best friend, had noticed, but now Yelena had noticed too. And maybe Clint was right, it wouldn’t be long until Y/n realizes as well.
Okay, she was a bit slower at noticing romantic advances and Kate would often give really good excuses for her staring, but she wasn’t stupid.
“Is it that obvious?” Kate asks and Yelena nods with a funny face.
“Maybe not to her yet, but she is a superhero. Quick thinking and all of that.”
“Goddamn it!” Kate complains putting her hands on her face with a sigh. “I’m doomed, Yelena.”
“Tomorrow is that day,” Yelena says, trying to remember. “April Fools, use that!”
Kate looks at Yelena clearly confused.
“Do I have to do everything? A prank, that is not a prank.” She rolls her eyes at Kate. “Jesus, Kate Bishop, love made you slow.”
“I’m both offended and grateful.” Kate said as she shook her head.
As the archer leaned her back into the sofa thinking about what she would do tomorrow. Yelena was right, she could use this opportunity to put up to test the strong chemistry between them, but Y/n didn’t make it much clear if she actually felt something romantic for Kate or just as a friend.
Yelena had left Kate’s apartment late at night, Clint went to sleep on Kate’s bed while Kate and Y/n had left early to go to her apartment. Y/n had inconveniently forgotten her Spider-Girl suit charging and the other one was still drying from when she accidentally fell at the lake. But it allowed Clint to have a better night’s rest with Lucky and no unstoppable laughs coming from the girls.
Kate woke up in the morning confused as to why Y/n was screaming her name in desperation, she sat up trying to open her eyes and focus on her distressed best friend.
“I’m up, what’s going on?” Kate asked shoving the covers to the side and getting up, almost falling in the process, vision still blurred.
“I lost my powers!” Y/n said and to make her point she tried to shoot a web and miserably failed.
“What?!”
“Exactly!” Y/n ran her hands through her hair, which was very disheveled. “I have no idea why this is happening, oh my god.”
Kate is still trying to process as she gets close and puts a hand on Y/n’s shoulder. “Is there something stressing you up? We will get to the bottom of this!”
“I mean, yes… My ex texted me saying they want us to get back.” Y/n sighed as she revealed.
“That little shit-“ Kate breathes in angrily. “I have excellent aim Y/n; I will shoot them!”
“Kate, there’s no-“ Y/n interrupts herself and scrunches her nose up, her mouth opening as she is clearly about to sneeze. “A-a-atchoo!”
Y/n sneezes and Kate’s face is suddenly full of webbing. Her best friend laughs out loud, helping to take out all the webbing covering her eyes, nose and mouth.
“Oops, I think it was webbing constipation.” Y/n defends herself poorly. “April fools!”
“Oh, you-!” Kate says as both manage to take the web out of her face, and she goes to the bathroom to take out the rest and brush her teeth, ignoring how Y/n’s cute smile released the whole zoo inside her stomach.
“Sorry, I couldn’t resist!” Y/n defends herself, leaning on the door. “You always do something, so I wanted to get you first!”
Kate silently brushes her teeth taking the rest of the web and Y/n helps clean her hair. Kate finishes brushing her teeth and suddenly pulls the other close, pressing the spiderling against the sink, one hand on each side of the woman. Y/n’s demeanor changes immediately, eyes widening, breath hitching, cheeks burning crimson and making it very visible to the archer her frustration.
“You shouldn’t play with me like that, Y/n.” Kate says slowly, and Y/n visibly gulps looking deep into her dark blue eyes.
Kate’s fall comes quickly after that, Y/n forcefully changes their places and now the archer was the one being pressed against the sink, eyes wide in surprise at the overconfident way her best friend had done that.
“You accepted that the day you turned into my best friend, Bishop, you were very aware and if anything you think I'm funny as hell.”
Kate gulped, before blurting out. “I like you.” Y/n rolled her eyes as the other one added. “Romantically.”
“Haha, Kate, I already know it’s April Fools.” The spiderling answers, shaking her head. “C’mon I thought you could be more original.”
“I am being original; this is reverse April Fools.” Kate defended herself. “I’m telling the truth instead.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Y/n still didn’t believe her as she pulled away.
Kate then put both hands on the sides of Y/n’s face and pulled her in for a long peck. She felt Y/n get rigid, then sigh slightly as she relaxed, however as if a sudden bucket of cold water was thrown in her head, she gently pushed Kate back.
“Katherine!” She said with wide eyes and crimson cheeks.
“I am being serious now; I didn’t know how to tell you and Yelena suggested doing a prank that was real.” The archer started to talk, looking away a bit embarrassed. “I was planning on a more elaborate prank to see if you felt something for me too, but… I kind of lost my cool.”
“I…“ Y/n was speechless, finally downing on her what was happening.
“I am in love with you, reverse April fools!” Kate sings shaking her hands a bit as silence fills the room.
The other woman suddenly scoffs, shaking her head as she clearly cannot believe her ears. But it’s Kate that is shocked when she speaks again.
“It fucking took you long enough, Kate, seriously. Yelena had to suggest that? Jeez.” Y/n rolls her eyes as she gets closer and kisses Kate’s cheek. “I’m also in love with you, idiot.”
“I swear to god if you’re playing me right now-“ Kate narrows her eyes, getting distrustful.
“I will kiss you to prove it.” Y/n shrugged.
“A real one, no bromancing!” The archer raises an eyebrow, defying Y/n to do that. “Bromance without the bro.”
“…Mance?” Y/n asks in confusion.
“I meant romance actually.” Kate corrects herself, sheepishly.
“I think you should stop talking.” Y/n laughs as she shakes her head.
“I am trying to, but you’re taking too long to kiss me!” The other one defends herself yet again.
Y/n makes the last step and kisses Kate, first a long peck, but then both deepened the kiss putting all their bottled-up feelings into it. When they separated, breathing hard, both laughed.
“Okay, this really isn’t a prank.” Kate said, breathless as she looked lovingly into Y/n’s eyes.
“I’m not sure yet, I think you need to keep kissing me to try and convince me.” Y/n says, clearly not meaning it, but making more excuses to kiss Kate.
“Oh, how dreadful.” Kate replies, smiling. "Normally I'd say you need to put more trust in me but... I don't know, we need to really make sure this isn't a prank."
She had to remember to thank Yelena later, maybe pamper the shit out of her with some brigadeiros and spicy food as a thank you. She would definitely be happy with that.
In the meanwhile, Kate would take her time kissing her best friend, current lover, and future girlfriend. They obviously needed to make sure it wasn’t a prank (an excuse they would use even in the future).

Word count: 1.7k

Tumblr media
The air in New York felt crisp as the autumn leaves fell around you. You stuffed your hands deeper into the pockets of your jacket, walking through the bustling streets. The city was the same, but everything felt different now. Sunken, maybe. You passed by the familiar coffee shop where you two used to meet, and the memory hit you like a wave.
You and Kate.
Back then, it felt like you two could conquer the world. You smiled to yourself, thinking about all the times you spent in that very shop, huddled close together in the corner, Kate rambling about a mission gone wrong or some ridiculous thing Clint had said. Those were the days when the rest of the world felt like background noise, and all that mattered was the space you carved out together.
Now, the coffee shop was just a place to pass by on your walk to work. You had gotten good at pretending the memories didn’t sting.
3 years ago
It was summer, and New York was in its usual humid chaos. You and Kate had just returned from a mission, tired but exhilarated. The adrenaline buzzed through your veins as the two of you sat on the rooftop of Kate’s apartment building, passing a bottle of wine between you.
“I told you I’d hit bullseye,” Kate said, smugly nudging your arm.
“Yeah, after like three tries,” you teased leaning back to rest your head on her shoulder. She huffed, but you could feel her smile.
The sky was painted with stars, and the city lights below twinkled like they were reflecting the magic you felt between you. You hadn’t been with Kate long, maybe six months, but it felt like you’d known her forever. Every touch, every look – everything just fit.
“You know, I could get used to this,” Kate said softly, her voice cutting through the night. You turned your head to look at her, and there was something in her expression, something vulnerable. It wasn’t like her usual confidence, but a quiet hope that scared you a little.
“What, being on rooftops, drinking stolen wine?” you joked lightly, trying to deflect the heaviness of the moment.
Kate smiled, but her eyes stayed serious. “No. I mean… us.”
Your heart skipped a beat, and you sat up a little straighter. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” Kate’s hand found yours, and the world seemed to slow down. “I feel like we’re good together, you know? Like, this could be it.”
You stared at her for a long moment, the weight of her words settling over you. You felt the same way – of course you did. But something in you was afraid to say it. Afraid to admit that the thing you had was so precious it could break at any moment.
So you smiled, squeezed her hand, and said, “Yeah, me too.”
But you never said more than that.
Present day
The wind whipped around you as you reached your apartment, the familiar ache of missing her settling deep in your chest. You had tried so hard to move on, but no matter how much time passed, the thoughts of her lingered.
You stepped inside, tossing your keys onto the counter, and your eyes landed on the old Polaroid stuck to your fridge. It was one of the two of you from a summer carnival. Kate had convinced you to go even though you hated crowds. She had her arm slung over your shoulder, the two of you grinning like idiots, her sunglasses askew on her face.
You had never taken it down, even after everything.
You brushed your fingers over the photo, the memory of that day flashing in your mind.
2 years ago
“You can’t seriously think that was fun,” you groaned, rubbing your temples after exiting the dizzying tilt-a-whirl. Kate was laughing beside you, doubling over you as you shot her a glare.
“Oh, come one! You have to admit, it was kind of fun,” she teased, nudging you playfully.
You rolled your eyes but couldn't help but the smile tugging at your lips. “Yeah, sure, if your idea of fun is puking your guts out.”
Kate grinned and wrapped her arm around your waist, pulling you closer. “You’re such a drama queen.”
You leaned into her warmth, your irritation fading. “Only because you’re a bad influence.”
She kissed your cheek, her lips lingering a little longer than usual. “But you love me for it.”
You stiffened, the words hanging in the air between you. Kate hadn’t noticed what she said – at least, not right away. She kept walking, her arm still around you, but you had stopped in your tracks.
Love.
It wasn’t like you hadn’t thought about it. You had. A lot. But Kate was… well, Kate. She was reckless, impulsive, and never seemed to take anything too seriously. You had always figured saying something like that would scare her off, make things too real.
But she had said it so easily, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Kate,” you said softly, causing her to stop and look back at you.
“What?” She frowned, realizing the weight of what she’d said. For a second, her confidence faltered. “I… I didn’t mean-”
But you didn’t let her finish. Instead, you took her face in your hands and kissed her, hard, like you were afraid this moment might slip through your fingers if you didn’t hold tight enough. Kate melted into you, her arms wrapping around your waist as she kissed you back with just as much intensity.
When you finally pulled away, both of you were breathless, but there was a different kind of fire in her eyes now. “I love you too,” you whispered.
And for a while, that was enough.
Present day
You blinked back tears as you stared at the photo, the weight of the memories crashing down on you. Everything had been so perfect once, so effortless. But it wasn’t meant to last.
You grabbed a bottle of wine from the cabinet, unscrewing the cap with shaky hands. Tonight, you were going to let yourself feel it all. You poured a glass and sat on the couch, pulling your knees up to your chest. It had been almost a year since the two of you had called it quits.
1 year ago
You stood in the middle of your apartment, watching Kate pace back and forth. You had been arguing for hours, but it felt like this conversation had been simmering beneath the surface for months.
“You’re always gone, Kate!” you shouted, the frustration boiling over. “You come back from missions, and it’s like I don’t even know you anymore.”
Kate ran a hand through her hair, exasperated. “You knew what this was when we started! You know what my life is like – what I do.”
“That’s not an excuse!” you shot back. “I feel like I’m not even a part of your life anymore.”
She stopped pacing, her eyes meeting yours, and for the first time, you saw the exhaustion there. Not just from missions, but from this constant push and pull between you. “Maybe you’re not.”
The words hit you like a punch to the gut.
You took a step back, your heart hammering in your chest. “What… what are you saying?”
Kate’s jaw clenched, and she looked away, her voice quieter now. “Maybe we’re not meant to be together. Maybe this… isn’t working anymore.”
You felt the ground crumble beneath you, the weight of her words threatening to suffocate you. “You don’t mean that.”
But the look in her eyes told you she did.
You had always known that this could happen. Kate was driven, focused on being a hero, and you love that about her. But somewhere along the way, you had stopped being part of her world, and she stopped being part of yours.
“I think we need to let go,” Kate said softly, her voice thick with emotion. “Before we end up hating each other.”
You wanted to scream, to tell her she was wrong, that you could fix this. But deep down, you knew she was right.
So you let her go.
Present day
The wine tasted bitter as it slid down your throat, but it was nothing compared to the bitterness in your heart. You wondered if she thought about you too, if she missed you the way you missed her.
You had heard about her from time to time, through mutual friends. She was still out there, still saving the world. You had even run into her once at a party, both of you pretending it didn’t hurt to see each other. But you had never talked about what had happened between you, never addressed the elephant in the room.
Maybe it was easier that way.
You took another sip of wine and closed your eyes, letting the music from your old playlist wash over you. Maybe in another life you would be her girl. You felt the tears spill over, but you didn’t stop them.
Kate had been your first real love, and part of you would always wonder what could have been if things had gone differently. If you had fought harder. If you had let her in more. If you hadn’t been so afraid.
But the reality was, she had been the one that got away. And there was nothing you could do to change that.
The sound of your phone vibrating pulled you from your thoughts. You reached for it, your heart skipping a beat when you saw the name on the screen.
Kate.
You stared at the message for a long moment before opening it.
Hey… I’ve been thinking about you.
You started at the words, your heart pounding in your chest. For a second, you considered replying, but then you remembered all the nights you had spent alone, wondering if you had made the right choice.
Some things were better left in the past.
You put the phone down and took a deep breath, wiping the tears from your cheeks. Maybe in another life, things would have been different. But in this one, you had to move on.
You had to let her go.

Kate Bishop | Priorities
Summary: Reader comes face-to-face with his girlfriend, whom he hasn't heard from for days.
Kate Bishop x Reader
Warning: Angst, longing, little cries, some tantrums.
***
You were so worried that Kate hadn't returned any of your calls in the past week and her mom was arrested yesterday. You had your eyes and ears on the phone. You've been watching the news channels so much lately that you didn't care about the gangs that spread terror everywhere.
All you wanted was a message that your girlfriend was safe.
Even you yourself were tired of torturing yourself by remembering your last fight.
Your eyes are filled with tears. Your nose twitched again. You thought your tears had already run out. You're so tired and worn out, but you haven't heard from Kate.
You left the balcony floor where you collapsed with a tired sigh. Maybe even if it was Christmas, Kate wouldn't be near her. Your heart clenched and you stood for a moment on the doorframe. You've been beating yourself up for days and thinking of possibilities that should never have occurred to you, but it had never occurred to you. You didn't even give a chance. Because that's not what your Kate does. She was someone who always loved to give her love and attention. She was never a coward, she stood up and never gave up.
But ... what if she gave up?
What if she's gone?
"No, no," you said, trying to console yourself. Blinking your tired and sore eyes, you tried to get rid of the scary scenarios in your mind. "She will be back."
Kate didn't come back that day.
And in the last three days ahead of it.
When Christmas passed, you apologized to your family and made the excuse that you were too busy at work. You also added that you are planning something special with your girlfriend. They never made it a problem since they've known Kate since you were kids, and they invited you both on their next vacation.
'If she's here,' you stipulated. You didn't even know if she was alive or not.
The cops weren't very helpful to you. After people who returned five years after the blip, there were so many reports of missing persons that no one was even going to be given priority. Of course you were pissed that Kate wasn't on the priority line, but there was nothing you could do. She was all you could do, she.
In your shared flat, the house actually belongs to Kate, it had been a day or so since she had packed some of her belongings into the suitcases. You never gave up on Kate, but standing in a house full of her memories for twenty-four hours was torture. Also, the thought of her leaving you was growing stronger with each passing hour. You just hoped she wouldn't at least do it unawares. Even though she was never like that in all the long years you've known, you both became different people as you grew up. Maybe it was because of her college friends; Could she have hit her head? But you talked to all her friends. Maybe it was because your last fights were so violent? But each time you won each other's hearts.
God... Then why? Why hasn't your girlfriend been around for the last week and a half?
Didn't you do anything? Or have you done something wrong? Forgot to take out the trash? Did you hurt her? Did he think she had given up on him?
Or ... Did something happen to her?
Your heart is tight, you tightened the cabinet doors you were holding. The scattered image you could see in the mirror made you grimace. You looked awful. You're so devoted to finding Kate that you can't even remember if you ate a few hours ago. You didn't eat. Your weight dropped, your face sunk, and you always felt sad. Maybe you didn't realize that much until now, but Kate was the center of your life. She was by your side all your childhood. You grew up with it.
But she is no more.
You sighed.
You took your backpack from your bed, which had been tidy for days, and started pulling the suitcase that had been standing by the door. You didn't want to leave here, but the loneliness began to feel very difficult.
You closed doors that you left open. You're starting to check the windows for the last time. As you walked towards the hall, you heard low voices. Your heart pounded with fear and excitement. Could it have been Kate? Then who was the other person? You tried to maintain your composure.
Kate, who was arguing quietly with Clint, watched your arrival with longing. You stood at the entrance, looking at her expressionlessly. Kate wasn't used to you acting this way. However, she missed you so much that your actions did not go unnoticed. "Baby," she started to pace you.
But suddenly you took a step back, glaring at her sternly. At the same time, you didn't understand what you were doing. Kate hesitated at your movement. "Hold back." You said calmly.
"I know it's very confusing, but I'll explain everything to you-"
"I'm going,"
"You wouldn't believe what happened with Clint - What?" She didn't hesitate. "What do you mean I'm going?"
Your eyes touched the man she called Clint for a few seconds. "You stay with Clint. I mean, I'm going." You said keeping your calm. You weren't sure what to feel. "I'm sorry about your mother. Really. And if you have time, give my family some excuses, please."
"Y/N,"
"Thanks, Kate. Anyway. Nothing matters anymore, right? Besides, there's no excuse for me lying at the police station for a week and a half thinking something happened to you, right?" You mocked. "Oh, or it could be. I'm not worth it after all, huh?"
She gasped for thinking that way. Clint turned to Kate, realizing that the two of you were going to have a private conversation. "I'll be waiting downstairs." He left saying.
You looked behind the man with your mocking eyes. Besides being with the former Avengers member for weeks instead of being with you, she had even seen a message a lot. You couldn't forget that you slept in police stations at night. It's not that easy.
"Honey, I understand that you are angry." Kate began, but couldn't go on when you laughed nervously. Being angry? She really couldn't think that she was just angry. Disappointment burned all her cells. Weren't you justified in being angry?
"Anger? You think I'm angry?" You said with your voice getting louder. "Am I really angry? I've been running around for you for days, dead or alive, to find you. Just texting me was all it took."
"Everything happened so fast and dangerous. I didn't have time to tell anyone, I couldn't communicate with anyone."
"Then how did they arrest your mother?" ' you asked in a calmer tone. You weren't sure how to feel. Even being angry made you tired. Kate was tiring you out right now. Even if you're going crazy with longing, you can't ignore the part where you were wronged.
She didn't answer. Kate pushed you out of there as she started to put heroism at the center of her life. She didn't notice that. Right and wrong became the only thing that mattered to her as she faced the hero she had followed for years and fought back to back. Kate didn't really realize it, but she would understand that it was losing you. She had to set new priorities while you held her before her. Especially if he's going to keep doing this.
"I'm going, Katie," you said softly. You gripped your suitcase tightly and supported yourself from within. "Maybe it's your turn to think."

Silent Treatment- Kate Bishop
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kate Bishop x Reader
Characters: Kate Bishop
Warnings: N/A
Request: Anon- Hi, are you taking requests right now? If so could I request female (avenger?) Reader giving Kate Bishop the silent treatment one-shot??
Word Count: 488
Author: Charlotte
“Come on Y/N,” Kate huffed. “Talk to me.”
You rotated yourself in your seat to turn your back to your girlfriend as you had been repeatedly doing over the last quarter of an hour. Although as a whole you loved Kate dearly, she had annoyed you beyond reason currently and the silent treatment seemed like a fitting punishment for her. It wasn’t something you pulled from your arsenal often, but it was certainly one of the most effective ways to get your point across to Kate.
An exasperated sign escaped Kate, frustration consuming her. Maybe it was immature for you to keep up the silent treatment, but you couldn’t deny the amusement you felt when it came to riling up Kate. Her annoyance had finally bubbled up to her tipping point and she was going to retaliate with an equally heinous response.
Without warning, she leapt on top of you, forcing herself into your lap so that there was no way for you to turn around from her this time- you’d have no choice but to face her. Kate began her onslaught on your sides, tickling you without any remorse. You screamed out for help between pained laughs, no longer able to be silent, rather having to beg her to release you from her heartless attacks.
“Are you going to talk to me?” Kate asked, using her body weight and position to pin you down onto the sofa without any way to escape.
“Whatever,” you screeched. “Let me go.”
She offered you benevolence and stopped tickling you but continued to sit on top of you to make sure that she could restart attacking you at any moment if you didn’t comply with her terms.
“It’s really stupid that you’ve refused to talk to me all day,” she frowned.
“I haven’t got anything to say to you,” you said, scrunching up your nose at her. “You know what you did.”
Kate rolled her eyes at you. “I don’t get why you’re mad at me. I got a chance to be a superhero, it was hardly something I could pause and come get you first.”
Your eyes darted away from hers. It may have been petty, but it was something that had bothered you more than it should have. The two of you had been enamoured with the avengers and how much good they did, you had had dreams that you would be able to do the same and she had been able to live that dream without you.
“I’m not annoyed that you got to be a superhero, I’m annoyed that you didn’t even consider me being your sidekick.”
She laughed, moving a hand to cup your cheek.
“Honey, I was the sidekick. I could hardly have one of my own.”
“I’m still annoyed,” you pouted.
Kate pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. “I promise next time I get to be a superhero I’ll give you a call.”

The spring breeze blew through her bangs as she bounded up the stairs leading to the New Avengers Tower with Lucky in tow. One successful morning run later and they were both ready to refuel before going about their day. Lucky especially had a very busy day ahead of himself, chasing any bird that dared set foot on the balcony.
Once they were inside the elevator, Kate kneeled and took off his leash scratching the back of his ear playfully as he lifted his snout upwards to sniff her chin. She stood as the elevator was coming to a stop and Lucky barked, wagging his tail as he stared at the door. As soon as the doors opened he ran straight towards the kitchen making Kate laugh as she tucked the loose strands of hair behind her ears and followed his lead.
“No pizza for you this morning bud, I’m sorry. Your uncle Pete ate the last one.”
“Kate Bishop you are laaate.” Yelena sang as she walked into the room.
Kate turned around, brows furrowed in confusion as she watched her take a seat at the counter, “Late?”
“Yes, late. You know, the opposite of early, as in not on time” Yelena explained, picking an apple out of the fruit bowl in front of her and tossing it in the air.
“I know what late means you Russian ball of sarcasm,” Kate huffed, taking the seat across from her. “I’m just a little unsure what I’m late for.”
“Oh dear,” Yelena tutted, shaking her head. “Kate Bishop, you are impossible.”
“What… what does that mean exactly?” Kate leaned closer, her expression confused and head tilted to the left trying to catch Yelena’s squirrelly gaze. “We talked about this. Straight forward, clear, concise conversation topics.”
“We also spoke about using your big girl voice,” Yelena quipped, her eyes finally dipping to meet Kate’s.  “And you my pretty plum, have not used your big girl voice on Zara.”
“That was a secret! What did you do—” Kate leans further in, her voice dropping an octave. She’s tried to hide the crush she really has but Yelena was quick and Kate’s tongue always seemed to tie itself in knots around the new recruit. No matter how much she practiced in the mirror her words always came out backwards.
“Yelena no scheming. Please. I can’t! We talked about this too!” Lucky barked in response.
“We talk about a lot of things, you don’t talk enough to Zara. So I am leaving,” Yelena smirks. “I am taking MJ and Kamala with me so you are alone. It’s a perfect… scheme,” she smiles brighter, showing her pretty teeth.
“No. No no no no,” She jumped out of her chair and began to pace as she protested, “no. NO. I am not on training duties today first of all and- and just no. You can’t just spring this on me, Leen.”
“Oh, but you are and I did,” The blonde stated matter-of-factly before she stood and walked over to Kate. Placing her hands on either side of her face before she pressed their foreheads together. Her green eyes bore into Kate’s, serving as a slice of calm amidst the growing heap of nerves in her stomach.
“You are going to be fine, you need to relax and you need to stop avoiding her,” she pulled back from her with a soft smile on her lips and scrunched her nose, “fix your hair a little bit though and hurry, it is not nice to be late.”
“I hate you,” Kate whispered through her teeth, her eyes wide with panic.
“You won’t,” Yelena hummed, backing away from her friend and towards the door.
“I will. Forever. I’ll get you back for this Belova.”
“Yeah? What will you do Kate Bishop? Glare at me?”
“I’ll…I’ll…cut holes in all your pockets. I’ll swap out your hot sauce with ketchup. I’ll…” a look of triumph crossed her face. “I’ll tell Clint!”
Yelena doubled over with laughter and dramatically wiped pretend tears from her eyes.
“You’re funny Kate Bishop.” Then her face turned serious. “Go and train with Zara. Now.”
Yelena turned and headed towards the door. “Fanny, come,” she whistled, and the floofy American Akita rose from her place under the table, cast a disdainful side eye in Kate’s direction, and then followed her mistress out of the door.
Kate stood there and chewed on the inside of her cheek, staring out into the hallway for a minute, trying to both calm the butterflies that had taken over her belly and come up with her revenge plan. Spending the afternoon with Zara didn't sound like the worst idea, but it was the amount of ways she could embarrass herself in the gym that had her worried. She already made a fool of herself every time she tried to speak to her.
The brunette huffed out a breath and turned to look at her reflection in the glass window. She pulled her hair out of its place on top of her head and ran her fingers through it quickly before combing it back into a secure pony.
With a small hum, she turned to the golden retriever lying quietly in the corner, "Lucky, why don't you go train and I'll stay here and take a nap?"
Lucky wagged his tail and barked in response, snapping his teeth playfully.
"Fine, I'm goin-" her words cut off when she saw another avenger walking down the hall and an idea sparked quickly, "Hey Sam! What are you doing? Are you going to the gym? Listen I think I might have strained something on my-"
Sam put his hand up with a laugh and shook his head as he kept walking towards the elevator, "Yelena filled me in already, you're on your own. Buck and I have a mission. The training duties are yours, Bishop! Aren't you late?" he called back.
Kate spun with a nervous huff and picked up her pace. She was moving so fast that when she stumbled past Peter hunched over a desk full of scrap metal she barely had time to stop as she slammed into the door frame.
Peter jumped and metal flew everywhere. She watched it soar through the air before his hands reached out and scooped everything into his chest nervously before it hit the ground.  He swallowed tightly and set it back on the table. “A little warning next time,” he whined, organizing all the parts again.
“Do you wanna—”
“Nope,” he answered before she asked.
“But what if I—”
“Not gonna happen,” he said without looking up.
“What did she threaten you with I can—”
“No way. Last time I helped after Yel told me not to, she shrunk all my suits in the washing machine and turned all my socks pink!” He said with the shake of his head, his curly brown hair bouncy from the movement. “Besides you can do this, you’re an avenger!” He finally looked up at her, his eyes confident and encouraging.
“Right,” Kate chewed her lip, “thanks Pete,” she said, turning to walk away but before she left she stuck her head back in the door. “What are you building?”
“Oh a bomb,” he beamed with pride as if he hadn’t just almost blown up the west wing of the Avengers building not minutes before.
Lucky barked at her feet, just as nervous as she was.
“I’m going to go…” she nodded with a grimace. “I’m late…”
“Good luck!” She heard him call after her as she darted down the hall.
Kate made her way to the stairs deciding they’d likely be faster than waiting for the elevator seeing as the usual training session should have started fifteen minutes ago. She raced down to the basement floor faster than she ever had in her life. Well, she probably ran faster when Yelena was mad but that was a totally different running motivation than right now and her mind was racing just as fast if not more in the anticipation of seeing her.
Her heart pounded against her ribcage as she jumped the last two steps and ran to the training room door. She pulled it open and went inside, her heavy breaths catching in her throat when she saw Zara stretching her legs on the mat.
She looked up through her lashes at Kate and smiled brightly, the playful twinkle that always seemed to be in her eyes when Kate was in the room even more noticeable to the brunette now that they were alone.
“Hi Kate,” she purred, “just us today?”
Kate gulped, eyes wide and feeling slightly light headed. She couldn't figure out if it was from the running or from butterflies causing a storm in her belly from the way the pretty– prettiest girl was looking at her.
Maybe she'd been quiet a little too long because suddenly Zara was coming closer, her sweet rose perfume filling Kate's lungs. A playful grin on her face as she questioned with a raised brow, "Katie?"
“Pretty…I mean sorry! Lorry I’m sate. No! I mean…sorry I’m late! Shit!” Kate fumbled, her face going redder by the second as Zara’s eyes crinkled in amusement.
“Not a problem. If it was anyone else I’d have left already but for you I’ll make an exception. Did you run here just for little old me?” She winked.
Kate imagined she looked like that emoji, the one that was melting onto the floor. Her face flamed and not just from her run to the training room.
“Maybe,” she mumbled, looking anywhere but at the woman she’d harboured a raging crush on since the moment she’d first set eyes on her.
Zara's little giggle escaped her lips and made Kate's heart flutter. She'd just walked into the room and already it was harder to breathe. Her bold, sweet personality took over any room she was in; it was one of the things Kate loved about her.
"Well consider me flattered," Zara scrunched up her nose and lept up to her feet, "what are we training today, boss?"
Kate cleared her throat, and shook her head once, bringing herself back to the present and away from Zara's sparkling blue eyes, "We're uh, we're working on - hand to hand combat," she stuttered.
"Up close and personal?" Zara reached out brushing a hand against Kate's wrist and tugging the extra elastic she had over her hand onto her fingers, "can I borrow this? I forgot mine!"
"Ok," Kate nodded, whispering the word over and over again as she tried to remember the other twenty four letters in the alphabet. She watched as Zara tugged her soft, shoulder length hair up into a ponytail, exposing the long curve of her neck. Kate's bow fingers twitched at her side, itching to touch Zara skin in a way that didn't involve training or combat.
"Kate?" Zara said, her eyes wide as she waited for Kate to come back to earth.
Her head had tilted to the side and she could feel herself drifting into la la land with every smile and touch. I can't do this, she thought, panicking for a moment. And then she remembered what Clint had taught her. She could be brave, hell, she was a god damn Avenger...avenger in training...
"Katie," Zara laughed, reaching out to take her hand, she pulled her into the center of the mat, "you're doing that inner monologue thing again."
“What? I don’t d-” she argued only to be interrupted by a soft squeeze to her hand.
“You do do that, but I think it’s cute.” She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth slightly before she smiled, brushing her thumb across Kate’s knuckles as she let go of her hand slowly.
Kate felt the heat creep up her neck, unable to rip her eyes away from hers and longing for the feel of her skin on hers once more. Thoughts of how the graze of her thumb could feel against her lips set her nerves ablaze but she shook them out of her head before breaking her gaze away from hers.
“I- um, thanks. Ok, are you good to start then?”
“I am, yes” she laughed, “Are you? I know you went for a run but if you need help stretching I’m all for it.”
Kate could feel the blush deepen on her cheeks as heat spread through her face at the thought of Zara helping her stretch, touching her with a purpose. It was enough of a struggle, the little grazes of skin here and there but willingly putting herself under the hands of the woman she was pining over was another thing entirely.
"Uh no– no thank you, I'm all warmed up," she answered dumbly. Watching as a grin took over Zara's face as she took a couple of steps back, took a stance and fixed Kate with a smouldering look as she gestured to her confidently with a come hither motion with her fingers.
"Alright then. Gimme you best, Katie."
“Ok, well I guess we, umm, we should start with, umm…”
“Are you always this articulate?” Zara laughed.
“Just punch me,” Kate forced out through her clenched jaw, “and put me out of my misery,” she finished under her breath.
Zara complied with a swift one-two, keeping her guard up. Kate dodged the swings easily despite being distracted by the way Zara’s lithe frame moved so fluidly.
“Again,” she nodded, indicating for Zara to continue.
Luckily, the concentration of combat quickly took over most Kate's mind as Zara's fist went flying by her face once more. Kate dodged back as she was lunged at, swinging her own hand but she was caught by surprise as Zara grasped her wrist loosely and spun her into her body, holding Kate's free wrist tight against her stomach.
Kate was convinced that Zara could feel the hammering of her heart as the two of them paused and breathed heavily.
"Now what?" Zara mused against Kate's ear.
Through her fuzzy thoughts, Kate swallowed thickly and thought for a second, "That was - good," she muttered, "now you have to stop me from getting free," as soon as the words left her mouth she regretted them. She could have stayed there all day with Zara's arms wrapped around her and her lips brushing the shell of her ear.
Zara didn't waste a moment securing her hold on Kate, brushing her leg out in a sweeping movement; they both rolled through the movement and tumbled to the ground in a pile. Kate rolled beneath her, hoping to get her legs up into her stomach to put space between them but Zara was swift and pushed her legs away before getting control and flattening them against the back.
"What the hell," Kate groaned, dizzy from the tumbling. Zara's leg's pinned Kate to the mat, squeezing tightly as she wiggled beneath her to get free but she was stuck, defeated and embarrassed.
"Lenny taught me that one!" Zara beamed proudly, fixing Kate's hands above her head and leaning over until their faces were inches apart.
"I don't know if I'm upset over the fact that she taught you that and not me, or the fact that she lets you call her Lenny," Kate fought to control her breathing and her lips. Her chin tilting upward against her will and into the gravitational pull of Zara.
She watched Zara’s eyes admiring the green flecks in her iris as she looked down, head slightly tilted almost like she was studying her. Kate took a steadying breath as she felt the hold on her wrists soften, unwilling to let herself get distracted by the brush of their chests together, she pulled her arms down and finally broke her wrists out of her hold. She pushed her legs open until she was able to cross her leg over her calf pushing her weight off the mat and rolling the over until she was on top of Zara pinning her hands down.
The tips of their noses brushed together when she leaned forward to move Zara’s hands up.
“Your hold faltered, I told you not to let me get free.”
Zara smirked beneath her, blue eyes narrowing playfully, “are you? how do you know I didn’t just want you in this position?”
“You should have…wait, what?!” Kate spluttered, completely discombobulated.
A throaty chuckle from the woman pinned below her sent Kate’s brain spiralling.
“You were saying?” Zara teased, her lips raising in a lopsided smile.
“I was?” Kate asked dazedly.
“Yeah, we’re training, remember? I’m lying here eagerly awaiting your instruction.”
“Holy shit.” Kate whispered, not even sure whether it was out loud.
Letting out a deep breath, Kate sat back on her haunches quickly before standing up over Zara and extending her hand to help her up. She knew there were ways that she could have taught Zara to retaliate and get her back, but the thought of rolling around on the mat with the girl made her brain malfunction and she couldn't remember anything other than the small fleck of navy blue that sat at the top of Zara's right iris.
Their fingers tangled together as Kate pulled Zara from the mat, electricity shooting up her arm at the smallest touch. She turned abruptly when her sparring partner was firmly on her feet and walked over to her water, pulling off the cap.
"You're doing a lot better," she complimented before chugging back the last of her.
Zara giggled and swiped her tongue along her bottom lip as she stepped beside Kate, following suit with her water, "Well I've had a pretty good coach," she winked as she sipped at her drink before setting it down again on the bench.
Watching the way her throat bobbed when she swallowed, the brunette realized how hard she was staring and whipped her head back to stare at the wall in front of them, squeezing her eyes shut for just a moment, "I - yeah, Yelena is a really good teacher, she uh -"
"I meant you, Katie," Zara commented quietly, nudging her hip into Kate's and brushing their arms lightly together.
She felt Zara's fingers dance between her own at their sides as if she might tangle them together and hold on but she spun away and grabbed her bottle of water again from the bench against the wall, taking a swig of it before handing it out to Kate.
"What," Zara's nose scrunched up and Kate's chest got warmer, "afraid of my cooties?"
"No," Kate grabbed the bottle, and drowned all the words she did want to say with water. She turned away from Zara but the rookie didn't like that and skipped around her, bringing her big beautiful eyes back in view.  She felt her cheeks flush again, looking up to the clock that hung above the training room. "I know I was late but-" she started.
"Time's up?" Zara finished. "Feels like time always moves a little faster when you're in here with me." She said and Kate's world tipped a little further off its axis then it already was. "I just mean..." Zara started and stopped. "It's my turn to fumble my words I guess," she laughed, "I really like having you as a teacher," she smiled at her.
Kate's eyes widened at her words before shaking her head and shrugging trying to play off the butterflies exploding in her chest.
"Th--thanks, I uh.. I mean.. you--" A laugh bubbled from her throat as Zara brought her fingers to her lips hiding the growing smile, "you make a good student." The last words came out rushed as she sucked in a breath taking another swig from her bottle and silently cursing herself. You can't just play it cool, can you Bishop.
Zara took a step towards her, slowly peeling the bottle from her fingers, "Thanks." Her voice was a whisper and her eyes glued to Kate's as she brought the bottle to her lips. Kate watched as she took a drink, her perfect lips wrapping around the mouth of the bottle before her eyes dragged to where her throat worked to swallow the liquid. Zara's skin gleamed from sweat with the midday sun shining through the gym windows and only spurred on the tornado of wings in her stomach.
Kate gulped in tandem with Zara, her tongue swiping out to moisten her bottom lip.
“I guess we should c-call it a day then,” she stammered, unable to tear her eyes away from the woman before her.
“That’s a shame,” Zara hummed, “I could have done that all day.”
She locked eyes with Kate for a second, the air growing thick around them, before both of them burst into peals of laughter.
“I think that line has been done already,” Kate grinned, nudging her shoulder into Zara.
Their small laughs filled the gym and the two girls stood there, smiling softly at each other. Kate's hazel eyes danced around Zara's features, taking in every inch she could. The way the dimple on her left cheek was slightly deeper than the right, the small freckle that kissed the skin at the base of her jaw, the soft crinkles at the side of her eyes when she smiled so brightly she lit up the whole of New York.
Her breath caught in her throat and Kate cleared it away, "I have to - go feed Lucky..." She mumbled, pulling her lips into a thin line as she spun slowly and walked quickly to the gym doors.
"Thanks for your help today, Kate!" Zara's voice faded as the door shut behind her and Kate pressed herself onto the cold stone wall, letting the feeling wash over her. She bit the inside of her cheek to stop the grin that threatened to take over her lips and she shook her head.
I guess it could have been worse, she thought to herself, finally heading back down the hallway and making her way upstairs.
The hallway was empty when she stepped out onto the floor but she could hear Yelena and  Kamala laughing in the common room. "You best run little Kamala, I can feel her storm from here," Yelena teased and Before Kate even rounded the corner, the door to Kamala's door clicked shut.
"What happened?" Yelena leaned against the red backed couch and crossed her legs, her fingers digging into a bag of pretzels.
"I made a fool of myself," Kate sunk into the couch beside her and grabbed a pretzel, popping it into her mouth only to spit it directly out onto her hand. "Those are disgusting and hotter than the fires of Mordor."
"The what?" Yelena's brows scrunched up in confusion.
"Nevermind, she was flirting with me," Kate sighed, "she was flirting and I called time on class. I sent her away!" She put her face in her hands and groaned loudly.
Yelena threw back her head and laughed, "let me get this straight little arrow."
Kate peeled her hands from her face and glanced up at her.
"She flirted with you and instead of--" Yelena waved her hand in the air, "rolling around on the floor with the girl, you sent her away?"
"I couldn't breathe around her Leen." Kate admitted, "every time I looked at her I got distracted by those big doe eyes." her voice trailed off at the end. She really really really wanted to roll around more but she also knew herself and Kate Bishop was anything but smooth.
Yelena watched her for a moment before popping another pretzel in her mouth, "You know what I think you should do?"
Kate glanced up at her again waiting for whatever advice she had.
"Tell her how you feel!" She laughed, "it's really not that hard."
"That's easy for you to say. Every time I talk to her, my words get jumbled and I turn into Parker trying to tell Bucky a story."
“Come on Kate Biiiiishop, it can’t be that bad!” Yelena urged, wrapping her arm around Kate’s neck and pulling her into a side hug.
“I swear Leena, every time I see her I turn into a total wreck with the worst verbal diarrhoea. I need to be locked up or something.” Kate groaned, turning her head into her friend’s shoulder.
“Does she know you are interested in bondage?”
Kate shoved backwards, looking at Yelena in horror. “That’s not…I didn’t mean…”
“My God, Kate Bishop. I am fucking with you!” Yelena chuckled, rolling her eyes. “But seriously, just talk to her. Tell her how you feel.”
"You know not to do that when I'm in this state, Belova!" Kate whined, leaning back on the couch and throwing her arm over her eyes, "What if she doesn't -"
Laughter echoed through the hallway as Zara and America rounded the corner into the living space, "Hey guys we were thinking of ordering a - sorry did we interrupt something?" Zara questioned, looking between Yelena and a very surprised Kate as she sat up and stared at the blonde next to her.
"Not at all, Kate Bishop here was just telling me about your training session," Yelena mused with a playful smirk, turning her gaze to meet Kate's shocked eyes, "something about ending up on top of you... she said you did good work"
Kate could feel the heat creeping up her neck as she continued to stare daggers at her best friend. This couldn't be happening. Her heart thumped in her chest and she felt frozen, unable to turn around and meet her crush’s eyes.
Zara scrunched up her nose and shook her head with a smile, "Yeah well Kate's a good coach, we did have fun today with it though," she winked and linked her arm with the brunette's beside her.
"Anyway!" America chimed in, "We were going to order shawarma for dinner, Peter already offered to pick it up as he's swinging by, are you guys in?"
"We are," Yelena answered for them. "But Bishop needs to go over your performance review first," she clapped a hand on Kate's back as Zara looked between them all trying to figure out what the hell was going on. "Go now," Yelena clapped and yelled a little louder.
Kate inhaled slowly, as she started to walk toward her room she turned and out of Zara's sight she gave Yelena a dirty look, I'm going to kill you she mouthed and this only made the black widow laugh.
"You can come in here," Kate opened her door.
Zara spun in a lazy circle taking in all the decorations that Kate had used, during the summer most of the younger avengers stayed on the compound like camp but less outhouses and more guns. Kate had put up posters and photos of the original Avengers, to hype herself up and remind herself why she was here but as Zara took it all in she suddenly felt like a little kid.
"So what's this really about?" Zara looked at her, she had let her hair down and was picking at the elastic around her wrist.
Kate’s heart fluttered at the sight, there it was her nervous tick. It was one of those little things that you wouldn’t notice if you didn’t pay attention or didn’t really know a person. But Kate saw her.
She saw it the first time she set foot in the tower and it was one of the things Kate liked most about her. She’d take a breath, flick her hair tie a few times to ground herself and keep talking like nothing had happened.
Zara was the embodiment of the word confidence and she had the ability to turn Kate into a babbling mess with just saying the word “hi” but deep inside she seemed to be just as nervous of being in her presence as her.
Kate let out a nervous laugh before she moved closer to Zara, come on Bishop, it’s now or never. She took her hands in hers and led her over to the edge of the bed urging her to follow her lead as she sat. She tapped her finger against Zara’s knuckle before she lifted her gaze up to hers.
“Ok just, bare with me yeah?”
Zara's brows kissed as she studied Kate's face. "Okay..." She said softly, her hand only squeezing Kate's fingers as if silently urging her.
Kate watched her, sucking in a breath as the four million things she wanted to say scrambled in her head. How was she going to start this? What if she didn't feel the same. Her eyes slid shut and felt Zara's hand pull from hers and delicate fingers rest on the edge of her jaw. "Kate?"
Her hazel eyes flew open. You can do this.
"Would you..." She paused, feeling her heart slam against her chest, "I just- I really," she paused again, sighing as the words once again became jumbled. Zara's thumb trailed along her chin, stopping just below her lip sending fireworks through Kate. "I really like you." She rushed out. "I really really like you." Kate let out a breathy laugh at the ridiculousness of how quickly she said it.
Blue eyes stayed glued to her, as Zara sat there silently for a moment, a soft smile gracing her beautifully pink lips. Kate couldn't help as her eyes flickered down to them, doing anything she could to gauge the reaction she was about to hear. The deafening silence almost making things worse for her while she chewed on her cheek and tried to stop herself from oversharing. It was a bad habit Kate knew she had, continuing to talk when the other person hadn't spoken but in this moment, most words that would have made sense leaked from her mind and they were left with quiet.
Zara's smile grew into a playful smirk as her hand moved to cup Kate's cheek fully, running her thumb over her skin and keeping her gaze held, "It's about time..." she whispered, leaning in slightly and tilting her head.
"Wha - you knew?" Kate questioned, trying to steady her breathing as the tips of their noses brushed.
She giggled softly, moving her other fingertips up Kate's arm to rest on the side of her neck, "Yelena isn't very subtle," Zara admitted, swiping her tongue over her bottom lip, "are you going to kiss me, or not?"
Kate let out a breath, a beat of confidence surging through her as she leaned forward and pressed their lips softly together, taking Zara's top lip between hers. The swarm of butterflies in her body only seemed to get worse in the best way possible, and for the first time all day, every thought in her mind was clear.
"I really really like you too by the way," Zara pulled back and whispered quickly before smiling into another deep kiss.
"Finally," Yelena's voice floated through the door followed by a soft kick from her boot. "I've been waiting out here for ages, Kate Bishop."
"We talked about the eavesdropping Yelena!" Kate sighed, as she pressed her forehead against Zara's, "I'm sorry."
"Don't be, it's a win for her too. Six hundred dollars give or take," Zara shrugged with a laugh, snaking her hand fully around her neck and pulling her back for another kiss before Kate could protest.
The kiss sent sparks through her chest and into her toes as Zara leaned up to deepen the kiss. Her tongue slid easily across Kate's bottom lip and into her mouth without hesitation as they tangled together. Two becoming one. Kate wrapped her arms around Zara and giggled against her lips, enjoying every second of it far too much. She had finally gotten the girl, and she couldn't get enough.
She slid her hands down Zara's back resting them on her hips, her hold on her firm as pushed herself off the bed just a touch and lifted her further onto the bed. She felt Zara kick her shoes off under her before pushing her heel down on the mattress to aid her.
The pads of her fingers dug into Kate's skin as she smiled into the kiss and deepened it further pulling her down with her. Kate pulled away, releasing her lip with a pop. As they caught their breath, Zara tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Is this what you actually wanted to do during that training session, Bishop?"
Kate licked her bottom lip, bringing it between her teeth. "Can I plead the fifth on that one?" She asked lowly, dragging her fingers up Zara's side.
She felt Zara squirm beneath her at the slight touch along her ribcage forcing a giggle from the both of them, "not this time Katie." Zara's hand wrapped around the back of Kate's neck tugging her down to her again as their lips touched. "Ticklish?" Kate asked against her mouth, "interesting."
Zara tilted her head back and laughed giving Kate full access to her neck. She took full advantage and dipped her head, pressing chaste kisses along the column of her soft skin until she reached her pulse point.
"Is this part of my review?" Zara groaned.
"If you want it to be." Kate smirked.
A playful grin graced Zara's lips as she let a short whimper escape, "look who's miss confident now..." she commented, tangling her fingers into Kate's hair and arching her back into her touch.
In truth, Kate was no less nervous now than she was before, but her sense seemed to have taken over, allowing her to move just as far as Zara would let her and take what she'd been longing for for months. The feeling of her soft skin against her lips, her fit body shuddering beneath her from her touch, it was more than Kate had allowed herself to imagine.
Kate ghosted her lips over Zara's throat and across her jaw, to pull her earlobe between her teeth, "only for you," she whispered, moving her lips back to attach to Zara's. Her hand skated farther up her side and rested on her ribs, fingertips digging just enough into her skin as her thumb drew small circles into her, pulling another whine from her girl's lips.
Kate pulled back breathlessly, admiring Zara's kiss stained lips and big glossy eyes, "I have been waiting weeks to do that," Kate confessed, "from the moment I saw you walk into the Avengers compound. I swear my heart started beating in a new pattern around you, that's how nervous you make me and now," she paused, resting their foreheads together.
"Keep going Katie," she urged, watching her with a patient, loving expression.
"Now I have you all to myself and I don't know where to start, what to kiss, how to tell you, it's all one big mess."
"How about I start?" Zara offered.
"Please," she whispered against her lips, eyes fluttering closed when Zara pressed her lips to hers tenderly.
Zara's lips twitched into a smile against hers before she rolled them over on the bed, a huff escaping Kate's lips as her head hit the mattress. She settled atop Kate's lap, fingers dancing up her stomach and chest as widened pupils amidst a sea of blue stared back down at her.
"I think," she began, pressing a kiss to the exposed skin of Kate's stomach, "you are the most amazing," she continued pressing kisses to every bit of unclothed skin she could find as she made her way up her chest with her lips, her hands following closely.
Electricity shot up through Kate's body and her breaths grew heavier in anticipation.
"Woman I have ever laid eyes on, Kate Bishop." she declared, leaving a trail of wet kisses up her neck. Her lips hovered at her ear as her thumbs grazed the hem of her sports bra.
"Tell me when to stop, Katie." she whispered, sending a shiver up Kate's spine.
Kate brought a hand to her neck, urging her to look her way, "Don't stop, please Z."
They smiled at each other before Zara leaned down her lips grazing Kate's slowly, "I've been waiting for you too, and as grateful as I am that we’re finally in this moment... I would wait forever more if you asked me to."
Kate brushed her thumb down her neck before taking her lips in hers. They swallowed each other's moans as Zara's hands continued studying her body deepening their kiss. Kate settled her free hand on the back of her thigh squeezing playfully at her taut skin.
The screech of the door hinge stopped them before Peter's voice sounded through the room, "Food's here guys! OH- oh god I'm so sorry guys I didn't- I should have knocked, I just thought- You did it Kate! Well, not that I mean I don't know right-"
Both girls turned their heads, a snicker slipping from Zara's lips as Kate squeezed her eyes shut, "Pete!"
"Sorry, sorry. Leaving now." he rushed, hands up in surrender.
Their laughs filled the room as the door closed once more. Kate's fingers traced figures absentmindedly at Zara's side as she stared into her eyes, committing every second of this moment between them to memory.
"We should probably go eat." she said with a playful pout on her lips.
Zara pulled her bottom lip down with the pad of her thumb and she pressed her forehead against hers, "Fine, but we have unfinished business Bishop, don't leave me hanging."
Kate smiled and pressed a kiss to her finger, heart hammering against her chest at the thought of everything that was to come between them after today.
"I wouldn't dream of it, sunshine.”

You loved being their princess.
Wanda and Natasha, the powerful mob bosses who run the city with elegance and terror, have a soft spot for you. They made it clear that you're their favorite plaything, cherished and protected. Their desire for you is known to all in their inner circle, and when they’re off handling serious business, they make sure you’re well taken care of—especially during meetings that might take longer than expected.
Today was no different. The luxurious house, well practically a mansion, where they housed you was immaculate, all sleek marble, soft rugs, and leather furniture, everything pristine as a reflection of their control over the world outside.
You had the place to yourself for the most part, but not entirely. Wanda and Natasha left you in the care of three members of their trusted circle: Carol, Val, and Kate.
While you had been left in their hands for protection, it quickly became apparent they had other things in mind.
Carol leaned against the doorway with her arms crossed, her short blonde hair mussed up in that effortless way, the corner of her mouth curled in amusement as she watched you.
Val lounged casually in a nearby chair, swirling a glass of bourbon, her dark eyes gleaming with mischief. Kate, meanwhile, sat beside you on the couch, her posture deceptively relaxed. But you could feel the tension brewing between them.
“So,” Carol said, breaking the silence, “how do you feel about killing time with us until our two bosses come back?” Her eyes raked over you slowly taking in the little outfit Wanda had decided today. A short plaid skirt, a tight low cut top, and a pair of cute slip-on sneakers.
You shifted under their gazes, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks. There was no mistaking their intent. They had been instructed to watch over you, but they clearly had other plans.
Val set her glass down and leaned forward, her smirk widening. “I’d say we’re more than capable of keeping you occupied,” she purred, her voice low and teasing.
Kate’s hand moved to your thigh, her fingers tracing soft patterns on your skin. Your legs instinctively opened, making you bite the inside of your lip. “What do you think?” she asked, her voice playful. “They won’t be back for a while.”
You swallowed, glancing nervously between the three of them. You knew Wanda and Natasha were possessive. You were their favorite, after all. But a part of you couldn’t deny the excitement rushing through your veins.
Val noticed your hesitation and chuckled. “Don’t worry, darling. We won’t tell if you don’t.”
Carol’s smirk deepened as she pushed off the doorframe, moving to join you on the couch, sitting on your other side. “They’ll understand,” she murmured, her fingers brushing your cheek, tilting your chin up to meet her gaze. “You’re theirs, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while they’re gone.”
Kate, already leaning close, pressed a soft kiss to your shoulder, her lips warm against your skin. “We’ll take good care of you,” she whispered.
The combination of their closeness and the promises in their eyes made your pulse quicken. Carol’s grip on your chin tightened slightly as her gaze darkened, while Val’s eyes sparkled with amusement as she watched, clearly enjoying your predicament. Kate’s fingers slid higher up your thigh, and you couldn’t stop the shiver that ran through you.
“I wonder who’s going to leave the most memorable impression,” Val mused with a sly smile, standing up and circling the couch, her eyes never leaving you. “Or maybe it’ll be a little of all of us.”
Your breath hitched, your body betraying you as Carol leaned in, her lips brushing against your ear. “We’re going to have so much fun, sweetheart.”
Kate's hand finally found its spot over your panties, rubbing tight circles against you and pulling a moan out of your lips. Your head lulled back and went to the side as Carol’s lips moved up your neck. Val’s hands found your chest. Pinching your nipples making more moans spill out your lips.
Just as the tension between all of you reached its peak, the sound of the penthouse door unlocking echoed through the room. All eyes snapped toward the entrance, where Wanda and Natasha stepped inside, looking as imposing as ever.
Wanda’s sea-glass eyes swept over the scene, taking in the way you were surrounded by their trusted companions. Natasha’s deep green gaze narrowed slightly as her lips curled into a knowing smile.
“Seems like we’re interrupting,” Natasha remarked, her voice smooth but dangerous.
Wanda raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at her lips. “We leave for one meeting, and you all start without us?”
The three women quickly backed off, looking both amused and a little apprehensive under the gazes of the mob bosses.
Wanda approached you first, cupping your cheek with a possessive touch. “Did they behave themselves?” she asked softly, but the glint in her eyes warned that she already knew the answer.
Natasha came to stand behind you, her hands resting on your shoulders, squeezing them gently. “Don’t worry, printsessa. You’re still ours,” she whispered into your ear, sending a shiver down your spine.
Natasha looks at the three of them before moving over to the loveseat. Letting her muscular arm rest along the back, you felt yourself throb seeing her veins.
“Go on you three. Show us what you can do.” Tasha speaks as she motions Wanda to come sit with her.
Carol was the first to move, pulling out her strap as she lifted you. She sat herself down and then you on her lap, letting you slowly sink down onto her cock.
She had you facing outward. Seeing Wanda and Natasha watch you like their favorite movie while Kate came back over. Moving between your legs and letting her lips wrap around your clit; sucking, making you moan out and your head lull back before Val is grabbing your face and guiding you to her strap.
You let your lips wrap around the faux cock just as you do with Wanda and Tasha. Moans and whimpers come out of you.
Build up after build up happens, but you know there won't be a release not from these three. You're fuzzy and your vision is a little blurry as you look at Mommy.
Wanda is giving you a faux pout, "Go on detka, say it." And you whine out
"I need Mommy and Daddy to cum!" You cry out. You're overstimulated by all the build up. You knew they'd been training you, but you never thought it would actually work.
"Stop." Natasha demands of the others. They all immediately stop what they are doing.
"Let us show you three how it's really done." Wanda walks to you.
You're already all hazy and needy, so you're reaching out for Wanda, and she picks you up right out of Carol’s lap. You can feel her strap and Nat comes up behind you, whispering in your ear, "You need Mommy and Daddy? How about you ride Mommy while Daddy fucks you in the ass?"
All you can do is let out a high-pitched whine and nuzzle into Wanda.
"Those aren't words princess." Tasha whispers in your ear.
"Please let me ride Mommy while Daddy fucks my ass..." You whine out and the two mob bosses smirk at each other.
"Good girl." Wanda kisses your head. Taking the both of you to the couch. She positions herself, laying down with you hovering over her strap. Nat climbs up behind you.
Nat pushes inside of you first and you practically cum just from that. Then Wanda is pulling you down onto her. You're already trembling from them filling you up.
It's all overwhelming but not enough at the same time. You just desperately need them.
"Pl-please... Mommy, Daddy, need you." You whine out.
"Oh our poor girl just needs to be used. Doesn't she?" Wanda asks and you nod frantically.
"Yes Mommy please need you both to use me." And the two of them don't hesitate on their thrusts. Fucking you brainless. You end up losing track of how many times you've cum before both of them empty into you.
You collapse onto Wanda as Nat pulls out to go clean up and grab something for you two. You blink a few times and see the other three girls, naked and looking just as blissed out as you. You'd completely forgotten they were there watching.
Wanda runs her fingers up and down your spine. To sooth you as you nuzzle into her chest. She kisses your head. "Such a good girl for Mommy and Daddy. Such a good toy." She mumbles against your head.
It sends a shiver through you. She'd do it every time to ground you back down. You smile and close your eyes. Wanda looked over at the other three girls. "See that's how you make her cum. Though it was a losing game you were playing. We trained her months ago only to cum for us, by us."
The girls all let out a groan as they lay in a mess of tangled limbs. You let out a little whine, nuzzling and hiding your face against Wanda. She chuckles and shushes you.
Natasha walks back in with bottles of water and some snacks.
"Come on all of you, water, snacks, time for some aftercare." Luckily for everyone the couch was enormous and though you wanted to stay with Wanda you lean up and whisper in her ear,
"Can I snuggle with Kate?" Wanda furrows her brow a moment, but then she notices the slightly hurt expression on Kate's face as Val and Carol get comfy together.
"Go on princess. I've got Tasha." You smile and kiss her before grabbing a blanket and Kate's hand. She's taken by surprise as you pull the two of you over to the chaise and get comfy.
Everyone gets comfy as light flickers from the fireplace and Wanda puts on one of her favorite sitcoms.
You nuzzle into Kate as you slowly drift in and out of sleep. The room is peaceful, with everyone comfortable and snuggled up.
Everyone slowly drifted off to sleep. The last thing on your mind being, it was worth catching Wanda's eyes at the diner that day.

You can't be with her!

Warnings: little bit of angst, fluff, smut, making out, strap-on, top!Kate
Summary: Your moms found out about your relationship with Kate and are not happy with it. They want to keep you safe, unintentionally hurting you while doing that.
Notes: Sorry for my long absence. Here's a new one shot for you. I think it's the longest work I've ever written so far. Enjoy reading this piece.
Word count: 5.2k
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You knew you were in trouble. It was obvious. Especially after they broke into the house and you saw a very angry ex-assassin and a very pissed witch in the living room. But, let’s start from the beginning ‘cause what a story it is.
8 hours earlier
“No, there is no way.” your mom said firmly, standing in the kitchen with her hands on her hips. You stood up from your chair and walked closer to her.
“Why? You can’t just do that.” you fighted back. You couldn’t believe this is happening and centrally won’t let it become the truth. You love your moms and you know they always try to do what’s best for you, but this time they were in the wrong.
“I can and I just did. You can’t see Kate anymore.” Nat said with a stern look, tightening her jaw. You turned from her to your other mom. “Mama, won’t you say anything?” you asked, a pleading look on your face.
Wanda, who was standing and listening to the conversation this whole time, walked closer to her wife. “Y/N, sweety, we’re just looking out for you.” she answered gently. You felt absolutely helpless, hurt and angry.
“You can’t make this decision for me. It’s my life and my relationship.” you spoked, hoping that they will change their minds.
“You are our daughter and still a child. It is as we say.” Nat added, not backing up. It’s hard to fight an assassin, even if it is not a physical fight. “Listen, we don’t want to be the bad guys here or make your life miserable. It’s just..” Nat signed. “Kate is an Avenger. This job is very dangerous and being with her can put you in life threatening danger. It’s already risky considering that you are our daughter.“
“I’m not a child anymore, I’m 21 years old. Nothing bad will happen to me. Please, I love her. Y-you can’t do that.” your eyes started to fill up with tears, your voice’s slowly breaking.
“I’m sorry, but that’s final.” Hearing that, you rushed to your room, locking yourself in it. You threw yourself on your bed and started crying.
Everything was good before. Your moms didn’t know about your relationship. You successfully kept it from them for a little over a year, always saying that you were going out with some friends. But of course, they had to walk in on you and Kate making out in the training room when you were visiting the Avengers in the compound, because they had some stuff to take care of. Nat immediately took you to the car. The drive home was silent, but when you got inside, they started saying that you needed to end things with Kate for “your own good”.
You picked up your phone, opened contacts and dialed the phone number. It was three rings after that the person answered. “Hi, Y/N.” said the angelic voice on the other side. It was all it took you to utter a sob, breaking down more from just hearing her. “Y/N? What’s wrong? Does it have something to do with your moms finding out about us?” Kate asked with a concerned tone. You didn’t want to tell her about your fight because it would make it true and you couldn’t let that happen. However, Kate deserves to know. Maybe you can come up with a solution and everything will be great again. At least you hoped so.
“Kate-” you sobbed. “They want me to break up with you.” you cried out. Silence enveloped the room. You didn’t know if it was because she hung up or she was shocked. Pulling the phone from your ear, you looked at the screen; okay, she’s still there. “Kate? Please, say something.”
After a few seconds, you heard her say, you think she’s also crying. “I don’t know what to say.” she cleared her throat and added. “There’s nothing I can do? Maybe they can still change their mind?”
“I don’t think so.” You said. The truth is, if there was anything that would change this, you would already do it. Sad reality hit you. Your moms don’t want you to be with Kate. Then you wondered if it was even important to you. I mean, of course, you want them to approve of your relationship, but they don’t. They just don’t understand that she’s the love of your life. Your whole heart. Your everything. At that moment, you made up your mind. “You know what? I don’t care what they say; I want to be with you. I love you, Kate. ” you said, determined, wiping the tears from your cheeks with the back of your hand. Your moms are not gonna come in between your love life. You won’t let them.
“I love you too and I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Are you sure, though? I mean, they are your moms. I don’t want your relationship with them to be destroyed because of me.” Kate said, her voice slowly quieting. You can’t help but feel your heart grow bigger with love for her if it is still even possible. She cares about you so much, you couldn’t be more sure about your decision.
“Yes, I want to be with you forever, Katie.” you said truthfully. “I can’t imagine my life without you.”
“I can’t imagine my life without you too. What are we gonna do about your moms?” she asked.
“I don’t know, yet.” you said. You didn’t like to lie to your moms, but in this case, you feel like you have to. “Maybe we can meet up today? I can say that I need to go for a walk to clear my mind or something. You can park your car a few streets away.” you said hopefully. “Sure, be there in an hour.” With that, you ended the call.
Kate will be here in an hour, so you intend to spend this time on getting ready. You had to wear something not too fancy for a walk but not too ugly for a hangout with your girlfriend. ‘Girlfriend’, after all this time you’ve been together, you still can’t believe you get to call her that. It makes your heart flutter every time.
After some time of thinking about what to wear and getting mentally ready to lie to your moms, you were ready to leave. Walking down the stairs, you opt to look upset, but without it looking weird. You know it is hard to lie to a witch and an ex-assassin.
You slowly made your way to put on some shoes when someone called from behind. “And where are you going, young lady?” You turned to see Nat with her arms crossed. “I hope it isn’t the girl I clearly said is dangerous for you to hang out with.” She said sternly.
That got your blood boiling. “If you want to know, I’m going for a walk to clear my head, because my mother said I can’t be with the love of my life!” You shouted, tears started to well up again. Nat stood a little shocked at the outburst but quickly recovered. “Quit the tone; you know I do this for your safety. I just want to protect you.” She said the last part a little softer.
“Whatever.” You said and walked out of the house, shutting the door.
You turned left and started going down the street; hopefully Kate is already there. As you walk, you make yourself slightly more presentable, fixing the hair and wiping the tears that once again started to flow because of the encounter with your mom. Turning left, you see Kate’s car parked on the side of the road. Smiling, you increased your speed and got into the car.
“Hi-” Kate didn’t manage to greet you because you immediately pulled her by her shirt into a long, passionate kiss. Your fist, full of the fabric, pulled Kate closer. Her hands flew to grip the back of your neck. Both missed the physical contact. Your lips, made to fit like two pieces, were moving against each other, stealing breath. Your lungs started to feel like they were on fire, but that didn't stop you from giving yourself to Kate in that kiss.
After a few minutes, you pull away from the kiss but still keep close to Kate. Your hand full of her shirt slightly loosens, yet the grip is still there. “Sorry, I just really missed you.” You said, looking down flustered. Finally, your eyes moved up, looking deeply into hers. “Hi.” you added after a moment of silence.
Kate smiled at you. “Hi.” She replied, giggling breathlessly. “I missed you too. So much.”
It’s so stupid how her smile and the little glint in her eyes can make you all giggly and weak in knees. You know you loved her to the moon and back, you can’t give up on your relationship just because your moms tell you to, not when everything in you is screaming that Kate is the endgame, your endgame.
“Hey, hey, hey. What's wrong?” you felt Kate's hands on your face, thumbs wiping your cheeks. You didn't realize that you were crying. Every emotion's built up in you, and right when you saw her, you just had to let it all go. “It's just, I don't want to be away from you. I love you so much and I'm sick of this sneaking out, or my moms telling me that I can’t be with you.” you sniffled, looking into her eyes. “God, you are everything I want. I want to be with you forever. When I think about my future, I see you and me, and I don’t care what our lives will look like as long as we are together; that's everything I want.” You really poured your heart out there. It’s not typical for you to be this vulnerable in front of Kate—actually in front of anyone; you’ve always kept everything to yourself.
Now that you think of it, you think you might have scared Kate. She’s silent, just staring at you, hands still on your face. You think you blew it, that it was too much for her. After all, you’ve been dating for only a little over a year. Thoughts started to flood your mind, creating the worst scenarios and just when you were about to apologize-
“Marry me.” Kate said, her face not showing any emotions. You were speechless; did you hear it right? Kate asked you to marry her? Well, it wasn’t really a question, more like as if she just admitted to herself that she wants to marry you. Nonetheless, there is still a part of you that believes that you heard it wrong. “What?” You breathed out, your eyes searching for reassurance in hers.
“Marry me.” She repeated more confidently this time as if coming back to life. “I’m serious. I know that we haven’t been dating for long, but I also want to be with you forever. I love you and I don’t want to be with anyone else; you are the only one for me. I want everything with you, I want you. This won’t be easy, but that’s great. Easy is boring.” you both giggled at that. “This is reckless and not normal at all, but let’s just be for real. We are reckless and nothing in our lives is normal, I mean, your moms are a witch and an ex-assassin and I am an Avenger. Nothing ever was normal and nothing will be, and frankly, I love it this way.” Kate ended her heartwarming speech with a big smile on her face, tears now also in her eyes. “So, Y/N Romanoff, will you marry me?”
“Yes!” You said matching her smile. “Of course I will marry you.” Pulling the shirt you still had a grip on, you pull Kate into a slow kiss, filled with salty tears. You think you’ve never been so sure about anything in your life. Honestly, that’s all you ever wanted, to marry the love of your life and that is marrying Kate Bishop.
“Good, cause I thought for a second that I went too far.” Kate started to ramble after pulling away. You thought that the best way to stop her from that was to kiss her again. It didn’t last long though, because after a few seconds she pulled back again. She turned so she’s sitting straight, her back to the seat, and started to wave her hands around. “Oh my, I need to buy a ring. God! I’m so unprepared!” You tried to stop her by calling her name, but that didn’t really work.
“Katherine Elizabeth Bishop!” Using her full name did work. She stopped immediately and looked at you. You giggled at her. “You need to stop worrying about that. I want to marry you, not the ring. I don’t need any rings, just you, okay?” Kate looked at you as if looking for clarification, then she cutely tilted her head and pouted and that just made you want to kiss her.
“I know, but I really want to get you a ring. You deserve that, you deserve a big proposal with-with rose petals, a nice dinner and a big diamond ring, not this. A girl who proposes in her car without even a paper ring.” She started having doubts about herself; you could see that. “I love that girl. I don’t need some rich and stuck-up proposal. I couldn’t have imagined it better than this.” You made sure she was looking at you as you said that to her. That was the truth, so you wanted her to believe you.
“Okay.. okay.” Kate clears her throat, then adds. “So, shall we go and get married now?” you both smiled at each other. Reaching for seat belts in order to fasten them, you answered. “Yes, we shall.”
It turned out it wasn’t that easy. You had to have witnesses. After some thinking, you reached out to Aunt Yelena, while Kate called Clint. Although it took some convincing to get the old man to drive here because, as he said, he doesn’t want to ‘deal with angry mothers anymore’, whatever that means, he might have been referring to Laura, but you’re not sure; you also think that he really just didn’t want to move his three letters.
Well, eventually, he agreed. Yelena didn’t need this much convincing; well, she didn’t need to be convinced at all. She said she’d be happy to piss off her sister; she mentioned something about getting back at her for borrowing, without her knowing, one of her vests and then destroying it on a mission, but you could have misheard.
Kate got anxious again, but this time about clothing. Both of you wore casual clothes, not right for a marriage. So that’s how you got dragged by Kate for a little shopping. It took you both a while, but in Kate's eyes it was worth it, because now you and her looked good.
It wasn’t long before you and Kate signed up the marriage license with Clint and Yelena next to you, and you were good to go. You bit your goodbyes with them, then made your way to Kate’s car. While you were both sitting, the car still not turned on, you realized what just happened. ”We just got married.” Kate stated firmly, her face not showing any emotions while looking straight ahead. You turned your head to look at her. ”We just got married.” She repeated, now with a big smile on her face. Also turning her head to you, she started to giggle. Hearing her laughter, you started to giggle yourself, also not believing that this is real.
Kate leaned in and brought her hand to the back of your neck to pull your foreheads together. ”You are my wife.” She said breathlessly. ”I am your wife.” You said in the same tone. Your wife pulled you into a long, passionate kiss. ”Damn, your moms are really gonna kill me now” Kate said after pulling away. This caused you both to burst out laughing. “Well, if this is my last hour, how about we make the best of it and go back to mine, my wife?“ She asked with a smirk on her face, clearly insinuating on doing something really not PG. Your cheeks turned slightly red, but you matched her smirk. “Lead the way, my wife.”
You’re sure that your superhero broke a few laws driving you to her apartment. Both of you are very eager and excited for what awaits you there. So as soon as the door was closed, Kate pushed you into it, trapping you between the wooden surface and her. Hands flying to your hips, squeezing and pushing more against the hardwood. Lips mingling with yours fastily, tongue pushing into your mouth, exploring the inside. Next thing you know, she was tagging at your pants, trying to take them off. Once you’re free from them, Kate’s hands traveled from your hips, over your ass, stopping on it for a second to squeeze, and then went downwards to the back of your thighs. With one swift movement, you were pulled from the door for a second, only to be pushed against it again, but this time with your legs around Kate’s waist.
Her kisses moved from your lips to nip at your neck, for sure, leaving lots of hickeys. You leaned your head back, revealing more skin on your neck. The particular bite on your pulse point made you moan. Your hands flew to her hair in order to pull her closer. With a mind full of thoughts about Kate, you breathlessly conhered some words. “B-bedroom… now.” you gasped when suddenly Kate pulled you both away from the door and started to blindly walk towards the bedroom. While you were stumbling across the living room, you threw your bag on the table, or at least you hoped it landed on the table, not caring about stuff inside. Though you’re pretty sure that your bag opened from the impact.
After some struggling, your back hit the bed with Kate on top of you. Lips once again connected, Kate started grinding her hips on yours. Suddenly, you felt it—the hardness underneath her pants. “Is-is that-?” You stuttered, then moaned because Kate pressed herself harder on you, so you feel it against your core.
“Mhm, a new one.” Kate smirked at you and again pushed her hips into yours, making you gasp. She leaned down to your neck and started to mark you everywhere she could. When she got to your pulse point, you moaned and gripped the back of her head, burying your fingers into her hair, pulling her closer. You feel hands tagging at your shirt. With your arms up, Kate swiftly takes off your shirt, leaving you in only your panties and bra. However, it doesn’t take long for her to also remove these undergarments. “So pretty.. so delicious, just for me to taste.” Kate’s hands started to wander.
Wanting to see more of Kate, you unbuttoned her shirt, slid it down her arms and then the shirt joined the rest of the clothes on the ground in the bedroom. Your hands immediately flew to her arms to feel her strong muscles. Then, to her abdomen, where she clearly has abs. “One of many perks of being an Avenger; lots of training that makes you have these muscles.” You stare in awe, biting your lip.
Kate leaned down again and nipped at your skin, making her path from your neck to your chest. She took your left nipple in her mouth, sucking on it hard, while her other hand squeezed the right breast. After some time, she switched the breasts and started sucking on the right one. ”Please, Kate… I want you.. now.” you pleaded.
Not wanting to tease you, just this night, Kate pulled away and took off the rest of her clothes, revealing the strap-on. “Purple?” You chuckle a little.
“What? I look good in purple.” Kate grinned and once again got on top of you. The strap was rubbing against your clit, making you shut your eyes and groan softly. “You want my cock, sweetheart?” Kate asked, rubbing her strap even harder.
“Yes! Please, Kate, I want your cock. Please fuck me.” You desperately rumble, your mind full of thoughts of how she can ruin you. This strap is definitely bigger than what you were used to, but you are willing to try this, considering how wet you are for her.
Kate leaned to your ear to whisper. “As you wish, babygirl.” Right after that, she harshly pushed at least a half of the strap in your pussy. Your moans and grunts get louder as she continues to slide in. “Fuck, baby. Always so tight for me.” You shut your eyes tightly as you feel more and more fuller with every second.
Finally, your hips were flush against each other. Your breath is more ragged as you try to get used to the fullness. “Kate… s-so full, fuck, so big” you moaned. After a few more seconds, Kate started to pull out and thrust her hips forward, causing you to let out a loud scream.
Your moans only encouraged Kate to keep going. The thrusts were much harder now; it made your head spin. You wrapped your arms around her back, burying your nails into it. Kate hissed into your ear from the harsh scratches, but it fuelled her to give you more. The room was filled with the sounds of your moans and the slapping of your hips with every thrust. “Kate- shit… I’m going to-” you are cut off by a hoarse groan that bursts out of your throat when Kate hits one particular place.
“It’s okay. Let go for me, baby.” Kate said breathlessly. That was all you needed, and soon your eyes rolled back. You arched your back into her, threw your head back and let out a silent scream. Kate was still thrusting into you as you were falling over the edge.
After you calmed down, she slowly pulled out of you. You groaned at the emptiness as you were trying to catch your breath. Kate was peppering your body with soft kisses. When she got up to your face, you smiled at each other. “That- that was incredible.” you said panting. “Glad you liked it, my love.” she pecked your lips. With a swift move, you turned you both over, so Kate was now on her back with you on top of her. “Let me return the favor.” you grinned and leaned down to kiss her.
 *****
You were lying on the bed with your head on Kate’s chest. Your arm around her abdomen, leg between hers. Kate has her arm wrapped around your bare body. The covers were loosely thrown on both of you as you were lying together in your own, quiet bubble.
“You know… I was thinking..” Kate started. You turned your head to look at her and wait for her to continue. “Since we are married now” this made you smile. You still can’t believe that this is real and that Kate is your wife now. “Maybe, if you want… you could move in with me.” your eyes widen at her words. A smile spread across your face. You lifted slightly from the bed to move closer to her and give her a passionate kiss in which you couldn’t stop smiling. The same goes for Kate.
When you pulled out, you looked her in the eyes. “Of course I want to move in with you!” you both had such big smiles on your faces that your cheeks started to ache. “Great! I was scared for a second that you wouldn’t want that. What will you tell your moms, though? Maybe you should-” as Kate continued to rumble, your heart stopped. Shit. Your moms, they don’t know anything, AND you said you were going for a walk, which is now about six hours long. Shit, shit. Your phone has been on silent since you went to get married. They probably called you and texted you a million times.
“Shit, my moms! They have to wonder where I am!” you said cutting her off and quickly got out of bed, panicking. You throw on yourself one of Kate’s hoodies, put on your panties and some Kate’s shorts. At the corner of your eye, you see that Kate also got up and started to get dressed. You left the bedroom and headed towards the living room, where you left your phone in the bag. Just as you walked into the living room space, your heart stopped at the sight.
So, now you know the story behind why an angry witch and a pissed-off ex-assassin broke into the apartment and were standing in the living room. They had their hands on their hips, with scowls on the faces. “Mom, mama-” You were immediately caught off. “Don’t mamas us!” Wanda scoffed. She rarely got angry, she preferred to do things the calm way. However, when she did get angry, oh boy, hide if you can.
They had every right to be angry and you knew it. So you chose to stay silent this time. “Do you want to explain where you’ve been?” Nat asked with her jaw locked tight. “And why, when I called Clint to ask if he knew something about your whereabouts, he said that he doesn’t want to get involved anymore?” this time Wanda spoke. “Or why, when I called Yelena to ask if she knew something, she just laughed and hung up?” Natasha added. It was as if they talked it through, because they were literally changing after one sentence. It was creepy. “You lied to us, went radio silent and met up with the one person we specifically told you not to see!”
The person, as if on cue, came into the living room and stopped dead in tracks. “Mrs. Romanoff and..” Kate cleared her throat “Mrs. Romanoff.” She stood right next to you, her eyes locked on anything but your moms. The thick tension could be cut with a knife. You didn’t know what they would do now, with Kate next to you.
“And here’s the person in the flesh.” stated firmly Natasha, her eyes shooting daggers at Kate. “Mom, please.” you pleaded. You didn’t want this place to turn into a war zone. “Please what? Y/N, we've forbidden you from seeing her and the next thing you did after that was see her! You don-”
“What is that?” Wanda stopped Natasha from further shouting at you as she noticed something. You turned your head where she was looking, and your face turned pale. Wands was looking at the coffee table where you had thrown your bag earlier. The bag opened from the impact and some things fell out of it on the table. One of the things was your and Kate's marriage license. Your heart stuck in your throat as Wanda walked closer to it. She reached for the paper, picked it up and for a moment there was silence. But only for a short moment.
“You got married?!” Wanda shouted, turning to face you and Kate. Now she was really, really angry. Like the kind of angry when she has her eyes narrowed, eyebrows furrowed so that they are almost touching, and the worst, the little tilt in her head. Now you were fucked. “You what?!” this time Natasha shouted.
“I-... we just..” you wanted to say something, but didn't know what. What do you say in a situation like that, though? It was tough, but fortunately Kate noticed that you were struggling and decided to speak for you. She reached her hand to yours and interlaced your fingers together. Kate cleared her throat, mentally preparing herself for anything that could happen after she spoke. “We did. We got married today.” you didn't think that was possible, but silence was never this loud.
“Why would you do that? And without any of us knowing” Wanda spoke angrily as she handed the married license to Nat.
Natasha read the license, still not believing what she just heard. Her eyes stopped at one point. “Bishop? You changed your last name to Bishop?” Natasha asked in disbelief, interrupting Wanda. “Yeah…” you said, unsure, waiting for the explosion from your parents.
However, there is something else on their faces. Hurt? Disappointment? Sadness? You couldn't tell, but you knew you didn't like it. “Mom, mama, please don't look at me like that.” you said sadly, there is a stone in your heart. “I've never wanted to get married without you there, but I also didn’t want to marry anyone but Kate. And you specifically told me that I can't be with her… I just.. I couldn't let that happen. I just want you to be happy for me.” you reasoned, tears once again pricking in your eyes. You felt Kate's hand smoothing your back, which calmed you a little.
“Mrs. Romanoffs, I really love your daughter. You care about her safety as much as I do. I promise to keep her safe and sound.” Kate calmly said, meaning every word.
Wanda and Nat looked at each other, having a silent conversation. Soon, they turned back to face you and Kate. “Oh God..” Nat groaned, letting out a breath. “Y/N, darling, we didn't want you to feel like that; we just…” she didn't really know how to say it, so Wanda took the wheel. “We just love you so much, we want to keep you safe. However, I admit that we did go a little too far. We shouldn't get between you and Kate.” she says. Your eyes lit up a little, a small smile started to spread on your face. “Does that mean..?” you asked, still not sure you understood what they just said. “Yes, you can see Kate.”
Now you have the biggest smile on your face. You jumped up and down and then pulled your mothers in a hug, squeezing in happiness. Your moms laughed a little and hugged you back. “We love you, darling, and we are happy for you.”
“Thank you. I love you both, very much.” you grinned and pulled away from the hug. You go back to stand next to Kate, whose smile is as big as yours, and interlace your fingers.
“However,” Natasha turned to Kate with a stoic expression. “If you hurt her, I will hunt you down.” Kate started to feel a little nervous again, but tried not to show it. “Of course, I-I would never hurt her; I love her.” she rumbled quickly.
Soon, Wanda and Nat left the apartment, saying that today they will leave you and Kate alone, but tomorrow they want you both at home for dinner.
You went back to bed, lying next to each other. Both of you fell asleep in a loving embrace.
Pool Party
Pairings: milf!wanda x fem!reader
Summary: You and Wanda have been flirting and teasing each other since the day you met. Or, at a pool party, you're not getting enough of Wandas attention.
Wanda is one of your moms best friends. She lives across the street with her two kids, who she shares custody with her ex-husband. When she first moved in across the street it started off innocently. Your mom and you going over and helping them move in, bringing them homemade chocolate chip cookies. You even watched the twins while your mom and Wanda went out with other friends or if Wanda was running late from work.
But the looks. Wanda had a way of giving you very specific looks. Always watching you and every single move you took.
Since the first moment Wanda laid eyes on you, she was completely enamored. She watched you walk over that hot June day in shorts and tank top, beads of sweat dripping down your chest as you offered your help. The way you gave her the most innocent eyes when the two of you found yourselves alone and your mom was in the other room.
Your small town southern accent drove her crazy. She constantly asked you questions just so she could hear you talk. "You're so adorable when you say that." Was something you were used to hearing from Wanda.
As time went on the looks turned into touches.
At first, it was small, fleeting moments where her fingers would brush against your arm. The feeling of her cool metal rings on your skin, causing goosebumps to rise. Sitting next to each other on the couch, watching a movie after the boys had gone to bed, she let her hand drift down to rest on your thigh. She rubbed small circles with her thumb. Saying goodnight to you after babysitting the boys and sending you home with a kiss on the cheek, too close to your lips. Everything about Wanda Maximoff invaded your senses, and you both knew it was wrong.
But neither one of you did a thing about it.
"Harmless flirting," you told your best friend one day. It was an exceptionally hot July day, a year after the Maximoffs had moved across the street. Your mom decided to throw a pool party for the neighbors and some close friends. Currently, you were laid out on a lounge chair in your best-looking swimsuit, crimson red, which you know is Wandas favorite color. Next to you was Kate, laughing and shaking her head at your naivety.
"Oh, Y/N.. you guys should just fuck and get it over with. You'd feel so much better, get all that stress out. Plus, Ms. Maximoff is hot. I'd beg to be with a woman like that." Kate looks through her sunglasses across the yard where Wanda stood talking to your mom and a few other neighbors. "And, she's totally into you. There hasn't been a moment her eyes haven't been on you today."
It was true, Wanda had been watching you closely the entire time. She was at the point where she didn't even care if it was obvious, she couldn't stop staring at that little fucking red bikini you had on. She knew you had worn it for her, and she was on the verge of showing her cards in front of everyone. To try to keep her cool she turned her back on you as you talked to Kate. You frown at her sudden movements.
You had become obsessed with wanting Wandas attention. You were constantly trying to make sure her eyes stayed on you. You wanted her thoughts to be filled with the idea of you. So at this, you felt as if her attention was gone, onto the next.
Fine.
You huff and stand from the chair, grabbing a bottle of sunscreen from the table and looking around the yard. "What are you doi-" Kates words are cut off as you begin to call Buckys name, waving at him. Kate sighs and leans back against the chair, saying, "This should be good," as she watches you adjust your swimsuit.
Everyone knew that Bucky had a thing for you. He always had, ever since freshman year of high school. There were a few kisses, 2 or 3 school dances, many dates, and even a little groping between the two of you throughout the years. Bucky was great and nice and hot, but only you knew the real reason why things would never work out with him.
Bucky smiles at the sound of your voice, which also catches the attention of Wanda again. You smile to yourself as you notice her looking, and you make your way over to Bucky. She watches from across the yard with a closed fist by her side as you strut over to him, standing there soaking wet in his swim trunks. You rest your hand on his arm as you lean up and whisper something in his ear. He smirks and nods, letting out a chuckle as you hand him the bottle of sunscreen.
"God, you look great... it's been too long since we've hung out, doll," Bucky says as you sit in front of him, his hands spreading the cold white sunscreen onto your shoulders and down your back. You smile back at him and return to face forward, making eye contact with Wanda. Her emerald eyes burned into yours as she slowly tilted her head to the side. You swallowed hard as she did and removed your gaze from her. You had seen the head tilt before, but never directed at you, and you would be lying if you said it didn't scare you a little.
"I know, things have just been so crazy since we graduated.. I miss you more than I thought I would," you tease him, making him laugh.
"Uh huh.. I'm sure you did. Bet you really missed this," he says with a smirk on his face before picking you up in his arms and walking to the pool. You let out a playful scream, banging your arms against his chest, but his arms are tight around you. "Bucky no!" You manage to get out before he's throwing you into the water, jumping in right after you and lifting you again in his arms. You're both laughing now as he holds you and pulls you close, "It's definitely working." He whispers in your ear.
"Oh good! I've missed James around the house. I always thought those two would be married one day.. fingers crossed, maybe they've still got a chance," your mom says aloud to Wanda, sipping her wine and smiling at the sight of her daughter in the pool. Wanda, on the other hand, was trying to compose herself, failing miserable. "Are you okay, Wanda?" She asks her neighbor whose face is bright red, staring daggers at the boy in the pool. Wanda gives a small smile, downing the rest of her drink.
"Oh, yes, I'm fine! I think I'm gonna grab another drink," Wanda says and nods to your mom. She stands for a moment, making eye contact with you again. Your face burns at the stern expression she gives you, and you clear your throat as you watch her walk inside.
"I'll be right back," you say to Bucky, who chuckles, shaking his head.
"I'm sure you will, Y/N.."
After getting out of the pool, you wrap a towel around your wet body, walking into the empty house. Besides a certain redhead you know was waiting for you. Many times, Wanda had been over to your house, sneaking up to your bedroom when she could get away. It was bold and exciting, the feeling of being caught any second. You think back to one of the times she had come up.
"I brought you something," Wanda smiles at you after you had let her in, shutting the door behind her.
"For me?" You ask, looking curiously at her hands behind her back. She reveals a book in her hands, but not just any book. A first edition, signed copy of your favorite book. "Wanda! I- you shouldn't have!" You look at her in disbelief, shaking your head, but she puts the book in your hands and sits on the bed next to you.
"You've done so much for me and the twins lately. You deserve it, really.." she says softly, a warm smile on her face as she watches you flip through the pages. You remember thinking Wanda was so thoughtful, so caring that she remembered when you told her this was your favorite book. You turn to face her, eyes bright and a smile so wide, you didn't realize how close the two of you were.
That was the first time Wanda Maximoff had kissed you.
There had been many other moments after that where you and Wanda had snuck off for a private kiss, a heated makeout session. It never went further than that, and none of them were ever as sweet as that first one.
So you walk up the stairs a step at a time, resting your hand on the doorknob to your room and opening it up. Wanda stood there with her fire red hair down past her shoulders, a loose shirt, and shorts concealing her swimsuit underneath. You expected an angry look on her face, but all she did was tilt her head, for the second time today. That was all it took for you to shut the door behind you.
In three steps, Wanda was towering over you, just an inch away from her body touching yours. Her hands went to your towel, making it drop from your body. She lets her fingers slowly move up your arm as she leans her head down closer to your face. "Did you wear this for me, detka?" You bite your lip, hearing her words come out thick in her sokovian accent.
"Yes.." is all you can mutter out, staring up at her with those innocent eyes. Wanda hums, taking another step so your back is pressed against the door. Helpless and trapped between her and the hard surface.
"Yet you let that boy put his hands all over you." Wanda practically spat, facial expression finally showing the truth, she was angry. Jealous. You reach your arms up to rest your hands on her shoulders, rubbing your thumbs softly against her.
"What do you care? What did you call this? Harmless flirting," you spit back, a smirk on your face. "So I assume that means I can do whatever..." You lean up on your tip toes to whisper in her ear, letting your lips rub against the soft skin there. "... or whoever I want." You use your hands to push her away, moving away from the door and from her. She scoffs and lets you walk past her before she grabs your wrist.
"Is that what you think? No.. no, I don't think so," Wanda says and spins you around to see her green eyes darkening as they rake over your body. She walks until the back of your legs hit your bed and she pushes you down onto the mattress. You gasp at the sudden movement, feeling her lift you further up the bed before crawling on top of you. "Oh sweetheart.. I'm going to ruin you."
You can't help the lewd sound that escapes from the back of your throat at her words, and you feel her lips connect to your neck. Your hands find themselves on her back, shoulders, anywhere you can grip onto her. You wanted her as close as possible to you. She begins to suck softly, biting down harshly as she does. Wanda does this over your exposed neck and collarbone, leaving little purple marks each time. You feel one of her hands begin to grope your body, removing your top to reveal your breasts.
"Detka.. You're so pretty for me.. fucking perfect tits," she mutters out, eyes glued to your chest before she's kissing them and sucking on your nipples. "So fucking perfect.." she sighs as she begins to kiss down your stomach. Your breathing becomes harder and she looks up to you with reassuring eyes.
Yes, Wanda Maximoff wanted to ruin you, wreck you. You had teased her beyond usual today, and she needed to show you who she belonged to. But this was also her first time seeing you like this, you letting her touch you, so she also needed to know you were okay. She was also restricted by time. Anyone could come up at any moment and catch the two of you. The thought alone made you crave Wandas touch, immediately.
"You, okay baby? Huh? What do you want, detka?" Wanda spoke between kisses, her fingers running over the top of your bottoms. As you stare down at her, you feel nothing but warmth and comfort. "I want you, Wands.." Your face heats up as you verbally announce it, watching her mouth form into a smirk. She's quick to relieve you from your bottoms, and you're finally bare for her to see.
"Tsk, tsk.. look how wet you are, sweetheart. Who made you this way?" She asks with a tilt of her head, fingers running along your slick folds.
"You, Wanda.. only you," you sigh out, gripping onto the sheets for support. She hums in approval at your words, sticking two fingers inside of you without warning. Her other hand moves to cover your mouth before you can let out any more moans as she continues to rapidly move her fingers in and out of you.
"That's it, detka. Be a good girl for me, huh? I'll fuck you properly later, but for right now you're going to take my fingers," all you can manage is a small nod as her slender fingers curl inside you, hitting your g spot. "So perfect for me, fuck I've been wanting to do this for so long now. I bet you taste so good.." Wanda groans out and bites her lip, squeezing her hand tight against your mouth.
Between Wandas praise and dirty whispers, and the way her fingers were hitting that sweet spot over and over again, you were already on the verge of an orgasm. Wanda watched you squirm underneath her, thinking of all the different ways she would have you now that she could touch you. Her words were true. She had been thinking and literally dreaming of this moment for what seemed like forever.
"I feel your little pussy squeezing around my fingers, detka. Are you going to cum for me?" She speaks lowly, removing her hand from your mouth. A small moan escapes as you manage out in a hushed voice, "Yes, Wands.. fuck I need to cum.."
"That's right, sweetheart.. tell me who you belong to. Tell me who's making you feel so good.."
"You, Wanda! Oh fuck... I belong to you," you whimper, feeling her hand wrap around your throat. You feel her fingers squeeze softly, just enough to bring you even more pleasure.
"Cum for me, detka.. be a good girl and let go.." Wanda groans at the sight of you, the feeling of your wet cunt squeezing around her two fingers.
Your legs begin to tremble, and she smirks as her hand becomes wetter. "That's it, baby... good girl.. just like that.." She talks you through your orgasm, slowing the pace of her fingers until your moans reside and you're left panting on the bed. Wanda moves her hand from around your throat first, then her other from inside you.
Your lips part as you watch her put her two fingers, wet with your own slick, into her mouth. Wanda moans at the taste and closes her eyes shut as she cleans her digits sinfully. "You taste so good, Y/N.." She opens her eyes and smirks down at your surprised expression, then crawls on top of you. Wanda closes the gap between the two of you and kisses you softly.
The kiss is wet and sloppy, your mind still trying to keep up with what just happened, including the multiple times Wanda made you say you belonged to her. Suddenly, a knock at the door causes you both to jump with a gasp.
"Uh.. Y/N? Your mom is looking for you.. just um... fyi.." Kates voice sounds, and you sigh in relief, eyeing Wanda as she stands in front of the mirror trying to freshen herself up. You follow suit and stand up, taking the top of your bikini as Wanda hands it to you.
"Thanks, Kate, I'll be right down!" You shout back through the door, hearing her steps head down the stairs. You give Wanda an apologetic smile, but all she does is walk behind you. Her fingers take the strings of your top, tying it in a tight knot behind your back.
"I meant everything I said. You belong to me," her voice is stern as she meets your eyes in the mirror, her index finger trailing along the marks she left on you, while her other hand rests on your hip. "So that James boy..." she trails off, giving you a confused look at the smile on your face. You let out a small laugh and turn around, bringing your hands up to wrap around her neck.
"Bucky, James, ... is gay," you say and bite your lip, watching for Wandas reaction. Her shoulders relax, and she shakes her head, a laugh leaving her lips.
"But your mom said you two used to.."
"In high school, we kind of made it seem like we were a thing to throw everyone off. He's got a boyfriend now, in New York. I know it was wrong, but.. I just wanted to have all of your attention." Your fingers weave into her hair, your voice becoming quiet at the end of your sentence. Wanda hooks a finger under your chin to make you look up at her.
"You don't have to do anything to get my attention, sweetheart. You always have it, all the time. You always have." She smiles at you, scrunching her nose up in the most adorable way. You giggle at the sight, a sound that fills Wandas chest with warmth. "Now go downstairs before your mother comes up here, okay?"
You nod, leaning up to press your lips to hers. You loved kissing Wanda.. her kisses were all taking. When she kissed you for the first time, you knew you would never belong to anyone else.
"Well?" Kate asks, lifting an eyebrow as you stand next to her.
"Well, what?" You sip your drink.
"You feel better now, don't you?" You can practically hear the smirk on her face, but you don't look to find out if it's there. Instead, you keep your eyes on the older redhead across the yard, who's already gazing back at you.
~~~~~
Hey guys, this is the first story I'm putting out here! Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated, or any ideas you have, I'm open to submissions. Thanks!

To Be With You - Kate Bishop
Tumblr media
Marvel Masterlist
Summary : After having a nightmare about you dying, Kate is scared for your safety but she doesn't know how to talk to you about her fears.
Warnings : character's death in a dream, anxiety, mention of Natasha's death, hurt/comfort, angst, happy ending, maybe some grammatical mistakes as English is not my first language, tell me if you see some or if I missed any warning.
Word count : 2.6k
French version
Song inspiration : Talk Too Much by Reneé Rapp
Fear can be read on Kate’s face, her wide opened eyes are set on you. Her bow is armed with an arrow, she doesn’t know whether she should shoot or find an other solution to save you. On the edge of the building roof, Wilson Fisk has his arm around your neck while his other hand holds a gun against your temple. Your body is shaking and your eyes are full of tears whilst you gaze at Kate, completely terrified.
“You should listen to me, Kate, and give me what I want or you can say goodbye to your girlfriend.” Fisk threatens with a harsh voice. “If you really loved her, you would’ve already saved her.”
“I’m not giving you anything.”
“Are you sure about that?” He replies before shooting you in the legs to prove he’s being serious.
“Let her go!” Kate yells following you cry of pain.
“You know what you have to do to save her life.”
“Fine! I’m gonna give it to you, just let her go.”
“Kate, no!” you scream while Fisk tightens his grip on your neck.
Reluctantly, Kate slowly puts down her bow on the ground whilst looking at you as a way to reassure you. She takes her bag off her back and throws it at Fisk. A machiavellian smirk on his face, Fisk loosens his grip however he still doesn’t let you go. You can finally breathe a bit more easily when Fisk suddenly throws you on the side and grabs the bag. You scream as you feel yourself falling off the roof. Your body goes on the other side of the edge when a pair of hands grabs yours. Looking up, you see Kate holding you with all her might.
“It’s gonna be okay, I’ve got you! I’m gonna pull you up. Hold on.” she comforts you as she tries to haul you up and Fisk runs away from the scene.
“Kate, I don’t have any more strength.”
A tear rolls down your face the second you talk. You’re physically exhausted. Fisk kidnapped you for a whole day to set a trap on Kate and he didn’t go easy on you - he’s known for his cruelty and you’ve seen it first hand. However, you do everything to help Kate to haul you up, in vain.
“I’m gonna find a solution. I’m gonna pull you up. I’m gonna do it.” Kate repeats to reassure you but also herself.
In addition to your fear, acceptance also takes over your body. You know she won’t be able to do it. Kate might be strong yet, you feel your hands slowly slipping from hers so, you tenderly look at her with a comforting smile.
“It’s gonna be okay, Kate. I love you.”
Kate’s panic stops as soon as she hears your sentence, it’s the first time you say ‘I love you’. You’ve only been together for three months and until now, you didn’t dare to say those three words.
“I told you I’m gonna pull you up! Don’t say this as if you-”
“Kate, it’s okay.” you say softly.
“No, stop it. I-”
Kate doesn’t have the time to finish her sentence that your hands slip from hers and you fall down the building. Kate yells your name at the top of her lungs, your fall being engraved in her memory. The thud of your body colliding with the ground resonates and Kate can’t look away from you.
Kate takes a deep breath as she sits on her bed, panting. A hand on her chest, she tries to make sense of her nightmare. Kate brutally waking up makes you open your eyes so you turn around and see her, all shaken up. You sit down and put your hand on her shoulder, at your touch, she abruptly faces you, fear being replaced with relief in her eyes. You barely have the time to notice a tear streaming down her face when Kate throws herself in your arms.
“Kate, what’s wrong?” you question, worried.
“Everything is okay, you’re here.”
“You don’t seem okay.”
“I’m fine, don’t worry. I just had a dream.” she lies, breaking the hug and faking a smile.
“Wanna talk about it? You seem pretty upset because of it.”
“No need. It was nothing. It was just a stupid dream, it didn’t mean anything. I’m fine.” Kate quickly says before standing up from the bed. “I have to go, I have training soon. You can stay here, if you want to or you can do something else, I’ll probably be home late. Be careful and call me if there’s anything weird.”
Kate finishes her rambling by pecking your lips and then, she runs away from her bedroom as if it was on fire. You stare at where she left, completely confused. Despite what she said, you can see right through her and you know this dream upset her. You tell yourself you should talk to her about it once she’s calmed down.
The following days, Kate’s nightmare keeps haunting her mind and she still hasn’t talked about it. Her nightmare made her question herself, more specifically your relationship. Though she’s never said it out loud, she loves you and she can’t lose you. Yet, since she became a vigilante after meeting Clint Barton, she has to take into account the dangers of this new life. Clint mentioned Natasha a few times and even if her death wasn’t like the one in her nightmare, the fact is, the Avengers are in constant danger and by extent their loved ones, too. Besides, since Kate’s mom went to jail, she is even more scared to lose the people she loves.
Now that Kate has realised what it truly means being in a relationship with her, she’s not sure you’ve realised it, too. Kate is afraid to be the cause of your death due to her lifestyle so she wants to push you away, but she also wants to keep you close to her, though she knows it might be selfish on her part. She should talk to you about it, on the other hand if she does, she’ll just fall down a rabbit hole by saying too much and probably breaking up with you, her fears growing everyday so she prefers to stay silent.
Obviously you’ve noticed she acts differently. You’ve tried to put her at ease several times without being too direct, fearing you’ll get her back up, however she always avoids the subject.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?” Kate asks, worried, searching for a potential wound.
She doesn't mention her nightmare even a week after and stays lost in her own thoughts. It kills you to see her distance yourself from you like this. You try to talk to her as much as you can but it's like talking to a brick wall and yet you keep making the conversation even if Kate doesn't seem to pay attention.
One day, whilst you’re both walking in the street, you tell Kate about your last exam. As usual the second you’re talking with someone, you don’t pay attention to where you’re going, focusing on your interlocutor. As you’re talking about how you feel about your exam, you just feel Kate violently grabbing you and making you take a step back then you see a blue car driving fast and honking.
“Thanks to you, I’m fine.”
“You really need to look in front of you when you’re talking, especially while walking in the streets!” she retorts, annoyed, “If I hadn’t been there, you could have had an accident! They were driving super fast, they could have hit you. Do you have any idea how reckless you are? You scared me! What if I hadn’t seen this car, you would have died in front of me!”
“But you saw it just in time and you pulled me back before it could hit me. I’m fine, Kate, we were more scared than hurt.” you calmly affirm, hoping to ease the tension.
“Because you were lucky! You won’t always be, something can happen to you at any given moment.”
Kate’s breath gets more jerky and you understand this goes way deeper than a bad driver. You force Kate to look at you before saying with a reassuring tone:
“Kate, breathe. I’m fine, you’re fine, we’re both fine.”
“I got so scared.”
“I know. Come on, let’s go to my place.” you tell her as you start to drag her in the opposite direction.
“But you wanted to buy the new book you’ve been waiting for months.” Kate protests, confused.
“I’ll buy it another day. We should get home, far away from the cars.” you state with a small smile though Kate isn’t in the mood to laugh. “Too soon?”
“Yes, barely two minutes after your almost accident is too soon.”
“Sorry. Come on.” you say, taking Kate’s hand in yours.
You turn around and start walking to your place whilst you stroke Kate’s hand with your thumb as a way to comfort her. Kate’s reaction confirms you have to make her talk, even if you have to force her. Something is wrong and she’s anxious, more specifically about you and you don’t know why.
Once you get in your small apartment, you let her sit on your couch whilst you make two hot chocolates - no matter the season, Kate loves to drink them. You hope the hot drinks will put her at ease so she’ll talk more easily. As soon as the beverages are ready, you join her on the couch. You let her take a few sips before speaking.
“Kate, we need to talk.”
“I don’t wanna talk about it.” she states, avoiding your gaze.
“You’re clearly anxious about something, you can’t just stay in your fear all alone. Talk to me.”
“I…,” Kate starts with hesitation, “I wonder if you really know what you got yourself into when you decided to date me and if it’s not the case then, I wonder if you’ll still want to be with me when you’ll realise it.”
“Why are you saying that?”
“You died.” she bluntly states.
“Kate, the car didn’t run me over.”
“In my dream.”
“The one you had last week? Why didn’t you tell me?” you question, starting to understand the situation better.
“You died and it was my fault.”
“I’m sure that’s not true.”
“It is,” Kate insists with teary eyes, “Fisk found me again and he wanted my bag - I have no idea what was so precious in this bag but he wouldn’t let it go and to force me to give it to him, he had kidnaped you. He even shot you in the leg and once I finally gave him the bag, he threw you off the building roof - because, yeah we were on a building roof - and I tried to pull you back but I didn’t have enough strength and… and you fell.” she tells you, her voice breaking at her last sentence. “You died and it was my fault. If I had listened to Fisk earlier, if I had had more strength-”
“Kate, it was only a dream.” you interrupt her, taking her hand in yours.
“It didn’t feel like a dream, it felt so real and it made me think.” Kate retorts, putting her cup on the living room table. “At any moment, it could be real. Now that I’ve worked with Hawkeye and with my mom who worked for Fisk, I could be a target and I don’t want you to get hurt because of me. I care about you too much to lose you, especially if it’s my fault. And even if I’m no Spider-man or Captain America, with time, I could have more enemies way more ruthless than Fisk and Fisk is awful enough. This nightmare was like a wake-up call, I can’t be with you because it means you’re in danger and you're already putting yourself in danger when you’re talking in the street without looking where you’re going. Who walks without watching where they’re going seriously?” She rambles before going back to her main argument. “The fact is, by dating me, you put yourself in danger and it’s something you should keep in mind,” Kate adds before taking a deep breath. “Okay, having said all that, do you still wanna be with me? ‘Cause, like, I wanna be with you, maybe even forever, holy shit, maybe not forever. I mean, I’m not saying ‘not forever,’” Kate nervously adds without giving you the time to answer, “I actually have no idea what I’m saying. Are you mad at me because I’m pushing you to break up with me because of a stupid nightmare? You’re mad at me, I’m sure of it and it’s cool if you are, I don’t care. It’s just that with this dream, I can’t stop wondering if it’s a sign, like a premonitory one, you know and if it’s true, I’d forever resent myself for not protecting you by giving you an exit when there was still a chance. And, oh my God, I think I talk too much.” Kate tells herself, “I’m talking too much, aren’t I? I should let you talk. Like you said, we should talk and… Ah! Just shut the fuck up!” she screams, frustrated.
“I haven’t said anything!” you reply, putting your hands up to prove your innocence.
“Not you, sorry, I meant me.” Kate corrects with a guilty face. “I meant I should shut up and let you talk.”
“Can I talk?” you ask after letting her breath for a second. Once she nods, you start speaking again. “Kate, I get your nightmare scared you, but it doesn’t mean it’ll happen. Besides, I knew what I was getting myself into by dating you - I mean, you bragged about working with Hawkeye on our first date so I knew for the whole vigilante thing, potential enemies and everything and I still accepted to go on a second date with you. I’m aware of all of this and despite it, I don’t want us to break up, particularly because of a nightmare.” you add with a soft yet firm voice. “And also, I don’t want to leave you alone. Being a vigilante is already complicated enough, you can’t isolate yourself. You have to talk to me when you’re not okay, especially if you get yourself worried sick. I want to be with you. I might not know how to do archery or fight but I can be here for you. I want to be here for you. You can try and give me every exit you want but I’ll still want to be with you. I love you, Kate.” you confess, looking her straight in the eyes.
“You love me?” Kate questions, stunned.
“Of course.”
“Wow, I didn’t think we were at the stage of our relationship and I didn’t think you’d say it during this kind of conversation. I mean, technically, in my dream, you said it before dying though we should probably forget about that dream. Anyway, I thought you’d say it when we’d be doing something much more romantic. God, I’m rambling again, aren’t I?”
You lightly laugh before putting your hands on both sides of her face and kissing Kate. As she feels your lips on hers, Kate’s fears finally calm down. The kiss only lasts for a few seconds so it can allow Kate to focus on something else, yet it doesn’t mean it’s not full of love and tenderness. Once you break the kiss, Kate gives you a smile you find cute.
“I love you, too.” she says, stroking your right hand on her cheek.
“I love you and I want to be with you, Kate Bishop, no matter what you can say to dissuade me.”
At your words, Kate’s smile gets bigger, grateful she’s found someone so comprehensive and kind as you are. She couldn’t have dreamed of a sweeter girlfriend in this brutal world.

Dog Walker - Kate Bishop
Warnings: Cuteness overload, very short, did it while very sleepy and didn't develop it to its fullest, english isn't my first language.
Summary: You are a dog walker with little interest in anyone with fewer than four feet. Your new client, the beautiful owner of a goofy, Golden Retriever, changes all of that when you begin to bond over your loveable new charge. (The prompt is from servicescape.com, I adapted it.)
Word count: 795.
Tumblr media
There were several jobs Y/n could be doing, admittedly, but truthfully, she would be miserable and last less than a year in any job she had to deal with a human.
Spend most of her day walking cute puppies? It was delightful. Not only was the exercise of the day, she got paid for walking dogs and playing with them. Sometimes she had to pick up some poop, an obvious downside that always scrunched up her nose and let out the most disgusted sounds; various times the dogs had pissed on her legs, intentionally or not. However, by the end of the day, her bank account was substantial (with unexpected but very welcome tips); Y/n was happier and had exercised enough to be considered healthy. A win-win situation, she thought.
It's not like Y/n hated humans so severely she didn't talk to them, friends and family do exist. The difference is that she would rather be with the angels with no wings that don't make judgemental questions about why a twenty-four-year-old wants to work walking dogs.
She had gotten a job walking Lucky, a cute golden retriever that lacked one of his eyes, for an hour. The owner, Kate Bishop, said she would wait downstairs so Y/n didn't have to go up a flight of stairs just for the cuddly little fellow. And as the dog walker neared the building, her breath got stuck in her throat for a few seconds.
Surprise, surprise Kate Bishop is a cute raven-haired woman in her early twenties. Black hair in a tight ponytail, a grey plaid overcoat topped a purple sweater alongside black boots and jeans. Y/n hated how good she looked in purple, it was her favorite color and she would remember Kate for a few weeks after this.
"Hi, I'm here for this cute little guy." Y/n used every ounce of strength in her to move forward and talk to the pretty girl, pointing to the Golden that was now curiously looking at her.
Kate's eyebrows shot up at the sound of a feminine voice next to her and she turned her head to meet the other person, taking a while to process Y/n's gorgeous facial structure before clearing her throat and smiling. "You must be Y/n!"
"Yup, that's me." Y/n nodded, smiling right back and directing her eyes onto the other woman's, making her realize the deep blue color. "You must be Kate Bishop."
"The one and probably not the only one." She then raised Lucky's leash to Y/n. "I'm so relieved someone with that many recommendations got to walk with him; I feel sorry for living in an apartment and leaving him cooped up all day."
"I'm sure you do the best you can, and for what's worth, he seems close to you," Y/n said as she observed Lucky kept sitting right next to his owner. "He didn't jump on me yet."
It wasn't rare for some dogs to stay put, yet it was Y/n's first time seeing a Golden Retriever not immediately jumping on her.
"Just wait." Kate's voice sounded amused, almost like a promise that we would, anytime. "Sorry to cut our conversation short, I can't be late. But I'll see you in an hour?"
"Yes, of course. See you later." Y/n nodded before looking at Lucky. "Let's go, handsome."
Lucky was a cute dog and not very difficult to take care of. He didn't go pissing or pooping everywhere, obeyed orders, and even played a few games with Y/n in the park. By the time they returned, Kate was already outside with her eyes shining as she looked at the dog.
"Pizza dog! How was your walk with the pretty lady?"
Needless to say, Y/n's cheeks burned with the praise, even if it came out without her actually meaning that.
"We played so much in the park. Oh, by the way, he already did his needs there, so you'll be good for a while." The dog walker spoke, looking at Kate. "And this sneaky guy totally kissed me on the lips."
Kate gasped before looking at him. "Lucky, you traitor!"
"Completely my fault, I'm irresistible." It was supposed to be a joke, but with the way Kate looked up from him and smirked, there was no chance the burning on Y/n's face wasn't appearing.
"I can see the appeal." She mumbled, voice a little low and raspy before she turned into a complete mess while saying the following words. "Hm, I've been meaning to ask, can I... get your number?"
Y/n felt absolutely giddy.
"Yes, yes you can."
So it was not like Y/n hated humans, but four-legged little guys were better, after all, if it wasn't for Lucky, the Pizza Dog, she would have never met her favorite human.

Angst warning: Red Room, mention of the forced hysterectomy
——
“Kate, Kate, wait, please- wait-”
Kate freezes the moment her girlfriend utters her name with that tone, her eyes wide as she looks up at the blonde. She has her hands on Yelena’s hips, her body slotted between the woman’s legs. She takes her mouth from where she had been pressing featherlight kisses down her hip and meets Yelena’s panicked gaze, slipping her fingers out from under her waistband.
“Hey, baby, hey, you’re alright,” Kate coos gently, carefully taking her hands from Yelena’s hips. The blonde lets out a distressed whine and quickly slaps them back into place over her waist, her fingers digging into Kate’s knuckles.
“No, no, please…”
“Yelena, my darling.” Kate frowns softly, her brow furrowed as Yelena’s pupils go from blown with arousal to fear-induced, shrunken pin pricks. “Yelena. Sweetheart. Can you breathe with me?”
Yelena doesn’t respond immediately, tears slipping down her cheeks as her bottom lip trembles. Kate bites down against the anxiety brewing in her gut, forcing her hands to stay still underneath the assassin’s palms as Yelena’s keep them settled over her hips. This wasn’t a new occurrence- every time a small kiss or a long hug started to turn steamier, into something more, Yelena would panic, and was only recently learning how to properly articulate that to her girlfriend.
After a few long, frightful moments, Yelena’s breath starts to match Kate’s, and the two women slowly come back down together. Kate is careful and slow and oh-so patient, her eyes open and understanding.
“There you go, baby, you’re doing such a good job,” she murmurs gently, rubbing small circles into Yelena’s hips with her thumbs. The touch seems to bring the blonde back, because she blinks harshly, shoulders jerking and eyes refocusing to zero in on Kate.
“I’m sorry-”
Kate silences her with a gentle kiss, something they had talked about before as an option for grounding her. Yelena’s words fall away and she melts into the archer, her trembling hands pressing harder into those of her girlfriend on her waist. “You don’t ever need to apologize,” Kate whispers against her lips.
Yelena whimpers softly, her hands finally coming away from Kate’s and cradling her face to hold her closer and kiss her harder, her lips salty with tears. Kate holds her tightly and indulges, her mouth gentle.
“It’s okay, you’re okay. Just breathe with me. Can you do that, sweet girl? Can you breathe with me?”
Yelena whines softly in response, her body pressing closer as desperation thickens her accent on her sluggish tongue. “Ekaterina.”
“I’m here, I’m here. You’ve got me. We’re safe. Not goin’ anywhere, baby.”
They end up fully back on the couch, Yelena clinging to Kate as the archer settles her weight comfortably over her. They murmur gently to each other, Yelena in low, nonsensical Russian, and Kate in the most soothing tone she can muster up.
“I’m sorry,” Yelena croaks again after some time, her lips dry and chapped when they brush over the skin of Kate’s neck. She has her arms wrapped tightly around her girlfriend’s shoulders, nose pressed into her jaw to inhale the steady scent of cinnamon and winter.
Kate coos gently to silence her again, running a gentle hand through the choppy length of her hair. “You’re alright, sweet girl. We’re okay.”
“I thought I was doing good,” the blonde whines softly, the tears returning to her eyes as she squeezes them shut. Kate frowns and leans back a little to better see her face.
“Darling, you are doing good, you’re doing so well,” she murmurs, brushing a strand of hair from Yelena’s face. “Getting scared or needing a break doesn’t ever take away from the beautiful progress you make every day.”
The blonde’s pout is in full force. “But I… I don’t want to keep this from you,” she whispers.
Kate feels her heart shatter, and it takes an effort to keep her own tears at bay. “My love. Yelena. Please look at me?” Yelena reluctantly does so, and her irises are a shade of hazel-green Kate could easily lose herself in. “You are not keeping anything from me, baby. All I ever, ever want, is for you to be happy, and safe, and comfortable.”
“But I-”
“You’re perfect.”
Yelena’s words fall away in a weak sob before she buries her head back into Kate’s neck, and the archer lets her, holding her tightly.
“It’s because of my scars. And my… body.”
The confession is seemingly out of nowhere, and so quiet that it takes Kate a moment to realize what was said. When she does, however, she gently scratches her short nails over the sweet spot on Yelena’s scalp. “You don’t have to explain if you don’t want baby-”
“But I do, Kate, I want to, please,” Yelena pleads, her body trembling underneath her.
Kate is silent for a moment before she nods and encourages her to continue.
“My- in… in the Red Room, when they sterilized me…” She stops for a moment, and Kate uses the silence to press her lips gently to her cheek. “It is done with very little care, very little precision. The damage left behind is… disgusting. My body is ruined.”
Kate’s arms tighten around her then, her chest squeezing painfully at the bitterness in Yelena’s tone. “You are not disgusting.”
“Kate-”
“You are not ruined.”
Yelena is silent, her throat tight as tears stain her cheeks. She stays where she is, tucked into Kate’s shoulder, until Kate leans away in order to look at her.
“Yelena, you are the singular most important thing in my life to me.”
The blonde’s responding sob is choked.
“Every day, when I wake up next to you, or with a text from you waiting on my phone, or with you downstairs making me breakfast, I am more and more grateful that I get to call you mine. You have no idea how much that means to me. How much you mean to me. Even though I know I say it a lot. I’ll never stop telling you, not till you get it. And even then I might not shut up. You just… you’re perfect.”
Kate’s words are soft but firm, with no room for argument. Yelena is grateful for it. She’s grateful for Kate. Everything that she is, everything that she stands for. When she finally meets the archer’s gaze again, she hopes that message shines through the tears in her eyes. It must, because Kate’s expression softens and morphs into something so tender Yelena could start crying again.
It’s a few moments before Kate speaks again. “Can I try something, baby?”
Yelena is nodding before she even really thinks about it. “Try what?”
“…Can I kiss your stomach?”
Something ugly wraps around Yelena’s spine, and she stiffens, but at the same time, there’s a heat in her cheeks and in her chest that makes her want to say yes to anything Kate Bishop ever says.
“You can say no, baby. Absolutely no pressure. Literally none,” Kate rushes, her eyes wide again when she sees the tenseness in her girlfriend’s shoulders.
Yelena shakes her head quickly and presses a rough kiss to Kate’s lips, the anxiety in her body making her a bit clumsy. Kate is gentle with her, she always is- kissing her back slowly and leading her to calm back down just a little. When they part after a moment, Yelena keeps her forehead pressed to Kate’s.
“Just my stomach?” Yelena murmurs, the trembling of her bottom lip betraying her nerves.
Kate is nothing if not attentive. She brings a hand up to brush her thumb over the blonde’s pout, breathe catching slightly when Yelena softly clamps her teeth down onto the digit in a sudden need for something else to ground her. Neither of them mention it, but Kate nods.
“Just your stomach, baby. Or more. Or less, whatever you want. Genuinely, I don’t want to do anything that makes you uncomfortable.”
“I know, Kate Bishop.”
The brunette nods, adjusting them so that she’s laying between Yelena’s legs, her head resting on her diaphragm and arms wrapped under her waist. Yelena relaxes after a moment when she realizes that Kate intends to rest this way for a bit, letting both of them adjust and to give Yelena a chance to say no.
The assassin rests her hands on Kate’s head, threading her fingers into soft, dark hair and carding through it slowly. A purr rumbles in Kate’s chest, vibrating into Yelena’s skin and soothing the buzzing in her body. The archer lets her eyes close and smiles softly, nuzzling her nose into her girlfriend’s tummy. It warms Yelena even further, and there’s a soft, comfortable blush on her cheeks.
Kate starts slow, meeting Yelena’s eyes to check her reactions every couple of moments, her hands gentle as she pushes the hem of Yelena’s shirt up her midsection. This was nothing that she hadn’t seen before- Yelena had a habit of walking around in just sweatpants and a sports bra (which Kate would never complain about) but this setting was still new. Being so close to her body like this was new.
And dear lord, Yelena Belova had fucking abs.
Kate tampers down the heat in her spine before it can fully start when she presses her lips to her girlfriend’s skin, but she can’t help but love the way the assassin shivers under her touch. With her eyes trained carefully on Yelena’s face, she starts at her belly button and kisses up the line of muscle and soft tissue, hoping that the love and devotion and adoration burning in her gut is pouring into the action in a way that Yelena can perceive. Her girlfriend doesn’t stop trailing her hands through Kate’s hair, fingers tugging gently here and there and nails scratching softly at her scalp.
“I like this, Kate Bishop,” Yelena whispers softly, her eyes heavy-lidded as she lets out an awed breath through parted lips. Her pupils have darkened, taking in the way Kate seems almost reverent, her motions reminiscent of worship. Yelena supposed it may very well be exactly that.
“And I like you,” Kate murmurs, closing her eyes and pressing her nose into the center of Yelena’s stomach like she wants to inhale her very being.
Yelena’s heart is thundering in her chest, and she’s silently grateful that Kate isn’t closer to a pulse point where she could hear it from.
The assassin raises an eyebrow, the expression of self-assuredy on her face far from how she actually feels. “Only like, Kate Bishop?”
Kate’s eyes snap up to her quickly, the blue of her irises deep and stormy. The intensity catches Yelena off guard, and she can do nothing to protest when Kate kisses a little rougher up her entire stomach and chest, ending with her mouth on the dip between her clavicles. “I love you,” Kate whispers between kisses, her eyelashes brushing over Yelena’s skin. “I adore you. I revere you.”
Yelena is sure her entire body will explode when Kate brushes her lips over the pulsing in her throat.
“Yelena Belova, you are my item of worship. I would fall to my knees at your feet and paint your body in liquid gold if you let me. I would paint the ground you walk on with blood, should you ask me. You are perfection.” Kate’s face is unreadable, but her eyes hold so much to be perceived. “All of you- is perfection.”
Yelena is stunned into silence, her doe eyes wide and mouth parted as she stares with burning cheeks. There are tears on her face, but they don’t distress her. She shudders when Kate kisses them away.
“Ekaterina,” is all she’s able to whisper, and Kate has her in her arms again, their bodies pressed tightly together. “Ekaterina.”
“I love you so much,” the archer whispers. Her strength is warm and sure. “No scar could ever change that. Not in any lifetime. Not in any timeline.”

Wound- Kate Bishop
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kate Bishop x Reader
Characters: Kate Bishop
Warnings: N/A
Request: Anon- Hi 👋 I was wondering if I may be allowed to request being a nurse and dating Kate Bishop? Or a nurse in training and just taking care of all of Kate's wounds when she goes out with Clint or if she ever gets hurt during archery or fencing practice??
Word Count: 500
Author: Charlotte
“Babe!” Kate screamed, as she flung the front door to your apartment open, letting it clang against the wall behind it.
The loud collision of door and wall sent you jumping from the sofa, your highlighter drawing a haphazard line across the page as the textbook and notebook tumbled from your lap, narrowly missing your sock covered toes.
“Bloody hell Kate,” you said, attempting to catch your breath. “You scared me half to-“
Your words fell short when you entered the hallway and saw the state of your girlfriend. Kate was there, holding herself up with help from the doorway but her body was trying to double itself over. You didn’t know if all the blood that was on her was her own but you could see several visible cuts on her face and a growing blood stain on her shirt below where her left hand grasped.
“What the hell happened?” You screamed rushing to her side to help support her as she stumbled into the house. “We’re you jumped?”
“Something like that,” she groaned as you swung the door closed.
You shot her an impressed look. “You were playing hero again, weren’t you?”
Kate tried to give you an innocent smile, but the pain of hobbling along got to her too quickly.
You managed to haul her into the living room and with a loud cry of pain, she was laying on the sofa still gripping onto her side. Without a second thought you gripped the hem of her t-shirt and ripped the material up until you could see the waistband of her bra. Her abdomen was smeared with blood but there was one main wound on her lower left side that was about an inch deep and spitting out blood as she breathed.
“Fucking hell, Kate,” you said, your breath catching in your throat as you observed her injuries. “We need to get you an ambulance.”
You reached out to grab your mobile, but Kate swatted at your hand, stopping you from moving any further, forcing you to look back to her.
“You’re a nurse,” she stated.
“A nursing student,” you corrected. “I’m not even allowed to take someone’s blood pressure unsupervised, let alone stop you from bleeding out.”
“I trust you,” she said with a weak smile. “If I go to the hospital, not only will it bankrupt us, but they’ll also ask questions and I do not want to explain how I was stabbed with an arrow.”
You let out an exasperated groan, running your hands through your hair, not caring that you were smearing blood through them. You overlooked her wound again and tried to make a plan; it wasn’t going to be perfect but hopefully it would work.
“I fucking hate you sometimes,” you huffed standing up from examining her wound. “Don’t hurt yourself whilst I go find stuff.”
Kate called out a weak laughed thank you as you rummaged through your belongings to find anything that could assist you in treating her wound.

Strong arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you flush to her front. It was impossible not to melt against your girlfriend. Her face buried into the crook of your neck, warm breath tickling your skin. “Coffee is almost ready,” you spoke softly, not wanting to ruin the morning’s tranquility. “And I ordered your favorite; it should be here soon.”
“‘M sleepy,” she grumbled. You smiled and turned around in her arms. Kate returned late last night from a mission. Normally, she would spend the next day in bed or lodging around her apartment with you. However, today was Yelena’s birthday, which meant dinner at the tower and bar hopping tonight to celebrate the blonde.
“I know, baby,” you ran your hands through her hair and massaged her scalp. A smile graced your lips as Kate hummed happily. “Once you have breakfast, coffee, and a shower, you’ll feel better,” Kate smirked.
“Are you going to join me in the shower?” You couldn’t say no to that smile and her incredible blue eyes.
“Yes, sweetheart,” she kissed you quickly.
“Go sit on the couch. I’ll make your coffee and wait for the food,” you wanted to protest since Kate needed her rest, but you preferred how she made your coffee. Stealing another kiss, you walked over to the couch and sat down. Immediately, Lucky jumped next to you and rested his head on your lap. You had to thank this little guy for introducing Kate into your life. You were a veterinarian technician and walked the one-eyed golden retriever’s first check-up. It was a little embarrassing how quickly you fell for the archer; her energy matched Luck. The duo came into your life exactly when you needed them to. You found out your girlfriend of 4 years was cheating on you. Kate was everything Ryan wasn’t. Ryan was controlling, manipulative, and easy to anger.
Your phone buzzed, and you groaned, picking it up. You heard your girlfriend chuckling from the kitchen. Knowing it was Yelena’s birthday celebration, you took today and tomorrow off, but they could call you in if they were short-staffed. However, it didn’t work. It was a text from a number you still need to save. A simple hi with a smiley face. Odd. “Is it work?” Kate asked, managing to carry two mugs of coffee and the breakfast. Quickly, you stood up to help her and pushed Lucky off the couch. She gave you an amused smile at your pointed look when she knew you were annoyed she didn’t ask for help.
“No,” you sipped your coffee, moaning at the taste. You loved teasing your girlfriend that she could make an excellent barista if the whole Avenger gig didn’t work. “It’s a wrong number. I’m going to ignore it.”
*
You were a disgusting, sweaty mess. A mob of bodies surrounded you, and Kate’s arms were around your waist, holding you close as you danced against her. After a few rounds of shots, Kate pulled you to the club’s dance floor. This was the group’s third bar of the night, and you were feeling the effects of the drinks. There was a buzz flowing through your veins. It was a mixture of the alcohol and Kate’s lips on your neck. You moaned, her lips attacking a sensitive spot underneath your ear. “Fuck,” she groaned. “I’m so close to ditching everyone and taking you back to my apartment.” You were surprised you heard her over the song’s bass and the voices of the other people in the club. Giggling, you turned around to face her. Your arms moved behind her neck.
“I don’t think Yelena would be pleased,” you yelled over the music. “She may kill you.”
“Worth it,” she kissed your cheek. “You’ve been killing me all night in this outfit.” It was why you wore it. Teasing your girlfriend was your favorite pastime. You pulled her closer, placing your lips against hers, and she quickly depended on it. No one else mattered. She consumed all of your senses; the fruity drink she just finished was on her lips, and the faint scent of her perfume and the callouses on her fingers gripped the skin underneath your shirt. It was over too soon as a hand-pulled you away from Kate.
“I have to pee,” America whined, dragging you towards the bathroom. You laughed at the defeated look on Kate’s face. There was no one in the bathroom and no line. America stumbled into the stall and let out a sigh. “You and Kate look good out there,” she yelled as if she was still on the dance floor. You rolled your eyes and pulled out your phone. A few messages were in the group chat, and a picture was sent to you. It was you and Kate dancing together. The picture was a little blurry, but you could see your smile, and how Kate looked at you made your stomach flip. You quickly saved the photo and made it your lock screen. America left the stall, cleaned her hands, and dragged you back out. You had enough time to put your phone in your pocket.
*
“Someone is popular,” you entered the veterinary clinic with your bag over your shoulder and two iced coffees; one was for you, and the other was for Ashley, your best friend and the receptionist at the clinic. “You got some gifts over there.” You handed her the coffee and walked to the table with boxes, flowers, and stuffed animals. A majority had your name on it, while others had the names of your colleagues. It wasn’t rare that patients sent gifts in the form of gift cards and chocolates to show their appreciation. You preferred the chocolates over everything. Carefully, you picked up the stuffed animal resembling Lucky, even missing an eye.
“Can you divide it up between all of us?” You asked Ashley. “I don’t need all of this.” She nodded, wrapping her hands around the coffee mug, and took a sip.
“Are you keeping Lucky 2.0?” She teased. You nodded your head excitedly.
“It’s so cute!” You cooed, squishing its face against yours. “It has no name. I wonder who sent it. I don’t know who to thank.”
“Probably went with one of these gifts,” she shrugged. “Just ask the patients you see. Someone will take credit for it.”
*
“Honey, I’m home!” Kate’s sing-song voice rang throughout the apartment. It made you smile. Usually, it would put you in a good mood, but not today.
“I’m upstairs,” you called out to her. You heard her take the stairs two at a time to reach you quickly. When the door opened, you refused to move from the cocoon of blankets with Lucky at the foot of the bed. You found yourself spending more and more time at Kate’s apartment than your own: an extra bathroom toothbrush, clothes in her closet, and your shoes by the door. Her apartment was your safe space, so after a brutal day at work, you made your way to her bed and waited for her to come home. Her scent in the blankets tricked your mind into thinking her arms were around you. You were sure Ashley texted Kate to inform her of the day you had. A life-saving surgery went wrong, and you had to consult a grieving family that quickly turned to anger directed at you.
“Hi, baby,” you felt the bed dip under her weight. “What can I do?” You merely shrugged. She sighed, carefully putting her arm around your waist and pulling you into her chest. There was no energy in your body to fight her, and you allowed her to maneuver you until your face was pressed against her chest. Her hair was damp; she must have showered at the tower before rushing over here. “I got you, baby girl. Let go.” You weren’t used to this soft treatment. Kate was always there to pull you into her arms and allow you to fall apart. “I’m so proud of you. You did everything you could,” she praised. You shook your head. The praise felt bitter. You were undeserving of it. “None of that,” she kissed your head. “I know you, sweetheart, you did your best. We can’t save everyone no matter how hard we try.” The tears escaped your eyes, staining the fabric of Kate’s shirt. But she held you tight.
When you arrived at work the next day, a beautiful bouquet of flowers was at your desk with a note. ‘I’ll be thinking about you today.’ There was a heart at the end. You smiled, slipping the note into your wallet. You weren’t sure how Kate had enough time to set this up, but you were grateful. Texting your girlfriend to thank her for the flowers you got to work. It was during lunch that you learned Kate wasn’t the one to send you flowers. Who was it?
*
Something was happening. More gifts were being sent to the clinic and even your apartment. The notes that were attached had a tone of possessiveness to it. They wanted you; to them, no one else could have you. It was scary. At first, you kept it from your girlfriend, not wanting to worry her, but she found out when gifts were being sent to her apartment. All addressed to you. She arranged her Avenger duties to walk you to work and pick you up once your shift was done. During lunch, she delivered food to you, so you didn’t have to leave. It was a little suffocating and restricting, but you knew she was doing all this to keep you safe until the Avengers could figure out who was behind it.
Ashley was on her lunch, so you were asked to watch the front desk. It was a relatively slow day. Therefore, it was a no-brainier for you to help your friend get ahead on administrative tasks, reaching out to patients to confirm appointments, answering emails, and reminding them about billing issues. You were on the phone when the door opened. “I’ll be right with you.” You said, not taking your eyes away from the screen.
“Take your time,” your stomach dropped at the voice. Ryan. You glanced over the counter and saw your ex. She looked like she hadn’t slept in a few weeks, her clothes a little messy, and dark circles under her eyes. “Finish the call, sweet cheeks,” she smiled, leaning against the counter. Now you saw it, the pistol in her hand. “Go on.”
“Sorry, ma’am,” you went back to booking the appointment. “Yes, we have availability at 2 PM on Thursday.” Could they hear how your voice shook? Ryan was flipping through a calendar the clinic had set up on the counter. “Right, of course. We’ll see you then. Have a great day.” You hung up, saved the appointment on the computer, and wrote on a sticky note letting Ashley know about the call. You added Ryan’s name to it.
“What do you want?” You asked and faced her.
“I’m disappointed, sugar,” she closed the calendar and looked at you. Her smile once caused butterflies in your stomach, and now it scared you. “Everything I’ve given you and not a single thank you.”
“What-?” It hit you suddenly. The gifts. The random text messages. Was the photo her, too? You reassured Kate that it couldn’t have been Ryan. You changed your phone number, address, and even the place you worked when you ended it with her.
“You’ve always been so smart,” she smiled. “Come with me, or I’ll start lighting this place up.” You had no choice but to follow her out of the clinic. To the average eye, you and Ryan looked like a loving couple. Her arm wrapped around your shoulders, bringing you closer to her, but those who walked the streets couldn’t see the gun pushed into your side. Ryan opened the passenger door, helped you in, and kissed your hand before closing it. It took a lot of self-control to keep yourself seated. The fear of the unknown of that pistol she had. Would she use it on you? Soon, she got in the driver’s seat and let out a sigh. “Baby,” the pet names were making your stomach twist. It was sickening how much you graved them from her at one point. “Safety first,” she reached over you to buckle your seat belt. You felt paralyzed.
“Where are you taking me?” You finally found your voice to ask.
“I’m taking you home.”
*
Ashley was surprised to walk back into the clinic to find the waiting room filled with patients. Victoria, the other vet tech, was trying to soothe angry humans with equally emotional pets. “What happened?” Ashley asked, walking behind her desk. “Where is Y/n?” She dropped her bag to the floor instead of hanging it up.
“I don’t know,” Victoria said. “But it’s not like her to just leave without letting one of us know.” Ashley frowned but focused her attention on a woman with a very yappy Pomeranian. She smiled, apologized with her best customer service voice, and tried to put out fire after fire.
“Yes,” she said on the phone. “We can reschedule your appointment.” Ashley looked at her calendar and saw the sticky note with your handwriting. It explained that you added another appointment to her online schedule, but Ryan was written at the end of it. Why would you write her name? Unless. “Yes, sorry, I’m here.”
*
Ryan’s hand rested on your thigh, nails digging into the scrubs. The radio was on, filling the empty silence, but you weren’t able to listen to whatever song was playing. Your skin was on fire, and all of your nerve endings were fixated on her hand on you. “Are you excited to go back?” She asked. “It’s been a while since you’ve been.” You were watching the mileage signs, and the exists she was taking. She was driving towards Cape May, New Jersey. It was a 2-hour drive from the city, and her family owned a few properties out there. During the warmer months, you would take the drive and stay at one of the vacation homes. “Come on, sweetheart, why are you so quiet? You love this drive.” You did. Ryan always drove, so it forced her to spend time with you. You cleared your throat.
“How - how have you been?” You asked. “How’s the business?” Ryan’s family was wealthy. Her family owned resorts in a few tropical islands built long before Ryan was born. High-profile guests and celebrities frequented the resorts due to their impeccable service, stunning locations, and commitment to creating unforgettable experiences. But when Ryan’s grandparents inherited Heritage Luxury Resorts, the business began to take a darker turn. They were too focused on maintaining their luxury lifestyle and took advantage of the indigenous population and the land the resorts were built on. Ryan sighed, tightening her hold on you, and winced from the pain.
“Complicated. Mother and father are being difficult.” Before you broke up with Ryan, you overheard a rumor from the staff working in her house that her parents would kick her out of the will. The business would go to her younger brother.
“I’m sorry,” you placed your hand on top of hers. “I know how hard it is to please them.” You had to keep her happy and please her whenever you could.
“See, I knew you would understand,” she picked up your hand and kissed the back of it. “I missed you so much.”
“Missed you too, Ry Ry,” you had to be strong and wait until Kate came to save you.
*
Kate’s blood was boiling. It had been since she received the call from Ashley, and Yelena drove her and America to your work. She watched the security footage of your ex threatening you with a pistol, and you left with her. Her anger was simmering in her stomach, and all she saw was red, but there was lingering guilt. She should have pressed harder for you to take time off, but you loved your job. America placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. “She must want to know she is responsible,” Yelena said. “With her money and resources, she could have hired someone to do it for her.”
“I’ll have FRIDAY flag her and Y/n’s passport,” America added. “Keeping them in the states limits the number of properties Ryan could take her.” Kate nodded.
“We have to find her,” Kate said. “Ryan is deeply unhinged.” You spent one night explaining every awful thing she did to you. “I don’t know what she’ll do to her.”
*
Ryan opened the front door to the house for you to walk inside. You could hear the sound of the ocean and smell the salt. It was once senses that provided you comfort. “Go sit, and I’ll make you something to eat.” She kissed your forehead and laced her hand with yours. She led you to the kitchen island and helped you sit on the bar stool. Round the corner, she began to cook. The pistol was on her back. “I can make your favorite. Shrimp scampi.”
“Sounds great,” you forced a smile. It wasn’t your favorite, but it was the only meal she could cook halfway decently. You looked around the house. It has mostly stayed the same since the last time you were there. “Is this where you’ve been staying?” You asked. Ryan nodded.
“I left for here after you broke up with me,” she flashed you a smile. It scared you. “Which was partly my fault that we broke up, but you also allowed your emotions to get in the way.” Was that her half-ass attempt at an apology? Gaslighting you to believe you acted irrationally. Once upon a time, you would have compromised and taken the blame to keep the peace. But that was before you met Kate, the other Avengers, and learned your worth.
“You’re right,” set a bowl in front of you filled with pasta and shrimp that looked like heated-up leftovers. “I should have stayed and not run.”
“See, like I said, so smart. Now enjoy!” you are as you listen to Ryan droning on and on about the legal battles her family was facing. Never stopped to ask how you were doing. It wasn’t always like this - she showed a loving and caring side for the first year and a half. When you were robed in, trapped, she showed her true colors. She made it impossible for you to leave and broke you down, believing no one could ever love you except her. Once you were both done, you washed the dishes and put the leftover food in the fridge. “I have a surprise for you.” She put her arm around you and brought you upstairs to the master bedroom. She gestured at you to open the closed door, but you hesitated. “Open the door, sweetie.” You wanted to refuse, to be stronger than her, but you needed to keep her calm. You had to make her believe you were on her side. Opening the door, you felt sick. The food you ate turned in your stomach; bile moved up your throat. The windows were covered with blackout curtains; the light bulbs were replaced, so the room glowed red. But the walls were covered with pictures. Most were solo pictures of you going to work, walking Lucky, or shopping. The other photos were of you and Kate. However, Ryan photoshopped her face over Kate’s—the dates Kate took you on, Ryan or someone she hired was there. The worst photos were the ones she somehow got you and Kate in bed. You turned to face her. “Do you like it?”
“How? Why?”
“Oh, sweet girl,” she cupped your cheek. “I told you. You are mine. No one can take you from me. I love you, and I know deep down you love me.” No. No. No. At one point, you did. You loved her so much, but now you hated her. You resented everything she did to you that broke you down.
“No,” you mumbled. Ryan hummed in question. “I don’t love you.” You pushed on her chest and ran for the door. She was quick to react and grab your waist. You fought against her, but she was still stronger than you.
“Pretty girl, please, I don’t want to hurt you,” she threw you on the bed and covered your body with hers, pinning your hands above your head. “Stop struggling.” You kept fighting. You couldn’t give up when you had people waiting for you.
“Please let me go, Ryan, please,” you whimpered, tears forming in the corner of your eyes. “I wanna go home.”
“You are home,” Her voice was sickly sweet, and she kissed your cheek dangerously close to your mouth. “You are mine. Now and forever.”
*
“They cross into New Jersey by the Vincent R. Bridge, and that is where FRIDAY loses them,” Sam explained. Kate found it hard to believe anyone could avoid detection from Tony Stark’s AI. They had footage of you being forced into Ryan’s car and then driving to the bridge. After that, the trail goes dark.
“The Heritages have a few properties in New Jersey,” Maria said. “A few in Newark, Secaucus, and Cape May.”
“Why do you need that many properties in New Jersey?” America mumbled. It was a far point, but Kate was stuck on Cape May. She remembered you telling her stories about a vacation home they owned there. Ryan would take you there after a fight.
“Maria, can you pull up the properties they own in Cape May?” Kate asked.
“If we limit apartment buildings and restaurants,” Jesus, Kate thought, were they trying to create a monopoly? “That leads us to four rental properties.” The front of each house was pulled up on the screen. “Satellite imagining shows vehicles at all 4 of them,” Ryan was brilliant but dangerous, and if they chose the wrong house, she should get tipped off.
“What’s going through your mind, Kate?” Yelena asked.
“She told me that Ryan would bring her to one of these houses after a fight,” Kate explained and stood up. “I just have to think. Give me a second,” she stared at the images, racking her brain for any detail.
‘I know I should hate that place,’ you told her. Your head rested on Kate’s lap with your eyes closed as you told her about your time at Cape May. ‘It was a band-aide that was placed on a serious wound. But I loved being able to walk right on the beach.’
“Remove any of them that don’t have direct access to the beach,” one house was removed. Good. It was a start. Think. Think.
‘There was a pool too. I found myself there when she was off doing god knows what.’
“Do any of them have a pool?” All three pictures remained. “Shit,” she rubbed her hands across her face and crossed her fingers behind her head. It had to be something unique.
‘My favorite part was when we would stay in the master suite, there was a fireplace. I’d love to start a fire and read by it.’
“What house has a fireplace in the master bedroom?” She saw Maria smile, and only one house remained. “That’s where Ryan took her.”
“Are you sure?” Sam asked. Yes. No. Maybe.
“Yes, she’s there.” You had to be.
*
Your body ached as the door opened to Ryan with a glass of water and a wet cloth. She had your arms bonded above your head. Your legs were chained, but she undone them before she had her way with you. Ryan whipped the tears off your face and cleaned between your legs. With even more care, she put on a pair of sleep shorts. “Here,” she held the glass to your lips. “Drink,” you refused to even though you desperately wanted to soothe your throat. Your ex sighed and placed the glass on the nightstand where the pistol was. “What’s wrong, sweetheart? Are you not enjoying our time together?” You closed your eyes, lips quivering. “Hey,” she slapped you on the cheek, and your eyes shut open. “I asked you a question, and I expect an answer.”
“No,” you answered honestly. “I want to leave.” She stood up and rolled her sleeves to her elbows.
“I gave you everything,” she said. “You are nothing without me. You left me,” she banged her fist against her chest. “For a wannabe Avenger. For a washed-up aristocratic.”
“Don’t talk to her like that,” you said. “She is everything you aren’t. You are a -” You let out a shaky breath. “You had your chance, and you blew it. You ripped it up, chewed it, and the more talk you prove it.” Ryan straddled your chest, hand gripping your throat.
“Keep talking. I fucking dare you.” Something snapped inside you. There was so much rage in your stomach.
“You’re such a.” She grabbed the pistol and put it to your temple. “Did you think I would let you crawl back into my life after everything we’ve been through? I’m finally doing better without you.” You spit in her face. A sheering pain rippled through your head. The face before you became unfocused, and it was getting harder to keep your eyes open—a ringing formed in your ears. You couldn’t tell if it was the concussion or if you heard the door was forced open. Suddenly, Ryan’s body was ripped off of you, and different hands grabbed onto you. You knew these hands. Warm, calloused hands. She was saying your name, and your arms were freed.
“Kate?” You whispered.
“Yeah, baby, it’s me,” you choked out a sob and put your arms around her neck, pulling her closer. “I know. I know.” Her voice shook. “You’re safe. Let’s get you home.”
*
For the first time in the Heritage family’s history, their money and power couldn’t protect them. Ryan was sentenced to prison, and you helped the prosecutors bring down the Heritage family and gave the land back to the ingenious people they stole it from.
Recovery was slow. The injury on your head from Ryan hitting you with the pistol healed, but you would flinch at every loud noise whenever someone touched you, and your nightmares made you believe Ryan was coming back for you. Work allowed you as much time off as needed, so you spent your days locked away in Kate’s apartment.
You were sitting on the window ledge, head resting on the glass. Your hand was running through Lucky’s fur. “Hi,” Kate said, sitting down in front of you. The archer put her Avenger duties on hold until you were better. You felt a little guilty for it.
“Hi,” you whispered, grabbing her hand and interlocking your fingers with hers.
“How’s today going?” She never asked how you were doing. You grew tired of everyone asking you, so she changed the wording but meant the same thing.
“Today is good,” you answered honestly. It was good. There was no nightmare last night that woke you up. You joined Kate on her walk with Lucky. “Katie,” you hummed in question. “You are,” you paused. Was there a singular word to describe her? “Everything. I don’t think I could get through this without you.” The archer smiled.
“Of course you would have,” she said. “You are so much stronger than you think you are. So much more than whatever lies she told you. You are my beautiful, wonderful, brilliant, and strong girlfriend.” You whipped away a few tears that escaped your eyes. “And I will remind you every single day.”
“Yeah?” You smiled. “Every single day?” She giggled, kissing the back of your hand.
“You are stuck with me, baby. I sincerely apologize,” her eyes widened slightly. “Unless you want to get rid of me, then I would understand, but I would be sad.” You giggled. With a roll of your eyes, you moved to sit between her legs. She rested her head on your shoulder.
“I love you,” you whispered. She squeaked but covered the surprise noise with kisses on your neck.
“I love you too,” she softly spoke. In your apartment or hers or at the Avenger tower, with Kate’s arms around you, you were home.
