♠️ What a day off of games with the aib males can look like. ♠️

A/N: Sorry, I've been absent for two days now, but for good reason. I wasn't feeling too well mentally and needed some time to myself because something happened that put me in quite a hole ... 🥲

Still, I've been thinking about what I could post here next, so I've prepared a few headcanons that define what I think a day off of games with the male characters might look like. 🙈

I hope that some of you are still around and will read through it. Feel free to let me know what you think about it or if you think any of them might have other interests! ✨

Characters: Aguni, Arisu, Chishiya, Karube & Niragi.

It depends on what time we are in.

If the beach still exists, Aguni is often prevented from doing anything with you outside if he already occupies the number one spot.

You would have to live with the fact that you would hardly have any time just for the two of you, because someone from his troupe would always want something from him.

If he realises that this is bothering you - or he is annoyed by it himself - he will turn his boys away and say that they should leave him alone for the next 2 hours as far as possible because he has better things to do.

In general, no matter what time loop we are in, I would say that Aguni would adjust to your needs.

I have the following typical scenario in mind:

Nobody said it would be easy with you, but let's be honest: it's the Borderland, what excited yet relaxing things could you do here so far?

Aguni: "So there are no games waiting for us today. Any ideas what you want to do in our day off?"

Y/N: "Uhm ..."

Aguni: "Come on, you must have been in the mood for something."

Y/N: "Yeah, but I really don't know for what I am in the mood for ..."

If you really don't know what you want to do, he would give some suggestions.

Aguni: "We could go to the pool."

Y/N: "Too cloudy for my taste ..."

Aguni: "We can do some sports together."

Y/N: "Now your expectations are set far too high!"

Aguni: "What about fishing?"

Y/N: "Can't we just get some fresh air and go for a walk together?"

Aguni: "..."

Y/N: "..."

Aguni: "You knew very well what you wanted to do, didn't you?"

Y/N: "Without my lawyer, I won't say anything."

If you want to do something, then Arisu is definitely the right person.

The boy is always up for a lot of nonsense and fun activities.

This is probably also because he doesn't want to constantly think about the terrible circumstances that are happening here.

He has got used to life here, but living in constant fear doesn't get someone anywhere and only has a negative effect on oneself.

So, if he is being trapped in a world that could take his life sooner or later, he at least wants to live every day as if it were his last.

You will not regret spending time with him.

He comes up with the wildest ideas, starting with taking a closer look into the various broken buildings.

Of course, he would still be cautious of entering any places just like that- not that both of you suddenly find yourself in a game, because that's what you're trying to avoid today.

You still wouldn't be able to stop him.

Y/N: "A-Are you sure we should do this, Arisu?"

Arisu: "Nope, but you only live once, so let's check this building out- maybe we'll find some interesting things in here."

Y/N: "Would you define 'corpses' as interesting ...?"

Arisu: "Wow, you really managed to ruin my fun."

Investigating the building would include lots of laughter and piggybacks when your feet get tired from all the walking over ruins and debris.

Eventually you find out that this building was a former arcade.

You can definitely pass the time well there.

Arisu: "Would you like a game of billiards?"

Y/N: "I'm going to rip you off so bad, love."

Listen, this boy is a damn lazy piece of shit.

When there aren't any duties don't expect him to do something special.

He has no problem putting his feet up for a day and literally doing nothing.

Feel honored if he spends his time with you at all.

No matter where you both would be, he would find ways to just doze off and relax while you - after all - lie in his arms and enjoy his closeness.

It's nice that he can do that, but you can't.

He would definitely be a great help to you.

Y/N: "We've been lying around here all day."

Chishiya: "Well realised."

Y/N: "I'm bored."

Chishiya: "Then do something."

Jokes on you, no, he wouldn't.

Making you pout is one of his favorite things to do.

Y/N: "But I wanna do something with you today since we have enough time finally."

Chishiya: "We do something, darling."

Y/N: "Idiot, that's not what I meant!"

How could he be bored if you let him get on your nerves so easily?

In contrast to you, he has something to laugh about and something to amuse himself with.

Nevertheless, he would at least agree to a compromise:

Damn, you love the nightlife.

Chishiya: "How about this? We'll use the time now to laze around and in the evening we'll take a look at the neighbourhood together and see which places are damned by games this time."

Y/N: "We don't take part in any games, our visas count enough days for us."

Chishiya: "Who said anything about taking part in a game?"

Y/N: "So, if I let you lounge around now, you will promise me to stay up late with me?"

Chishiya: "That's a deal."

To me the funniest but most chaotic one.

During the day, at least.

I can well imagine that Karube and you had already planned the day ahead the evening before.

But what would life be like if everything went as planned?

The morning is pleasant. You wake up together and after a intense cuddle-round, you start your routine as usual.

Unfortunately, Karube realizes that he can't find something.

Something very important when it comes to following his routine.

In the end, it all comes down to searching your whole accommodation for his cigarettes.

Karube: "Honey, d'you know where my cigarettes are?"

Y/N: "I don't know where you put them yesterday after you got ready for bed."

I mean, when you do smoke yourself, they can be important for you too ...

If not, well, then you are a very nice and good person!

You can guess where this is going.

Y/N: "Did you found them?"

Karube: "I would have told you when that would be the case."

Y/N: "Sure you didn't throw the box away because you smoked you last one yesterday evening?"

Karube: "I know my pack of cigarettes inside out, there were at least three more in there."

You spend the whole forenoon looking for his damn cigarettes.

You turn the whole accommodation upside down.

Both of you look under every stone.

In every room.

Two times- minimum.

Now he remebers ...

Y/N: "Karube, forget it, you don't have any- ... Darling ...?

Karube: "What is it?"

Y/N: "What's that in your pants pocket ... at the back of your butt?"

Karube: "Uh-... Oh!"

Karube: "You found them! That's right, I put them straight in my jeans yesterday so I couldn't forge- hey!"

Y/N: "Yeah, I threw your boxer shorts at you!"

Oh, my dearest reader-chan, please stay close to him no matter where he goes.

When he has nothing to do, he will go through the city streets looking for people to annoy.

He would look for trouble and find it- even if there's no reason for trouble, he'll just make it happen himself and find his reasons.

I don't know how, but at least you managed to stop him from taking his gun.

That's something you should be very proud of.

However, that doesn't stop him from doing anything and we know that.

So please. Stay. With. Him. Thank you!

In any case, you walk around the area together and check it out a little.

You'll talk about pretty trivial things every now and then, but that's still more pleasant than just talking to each other all the time.

When you meet someone, Niragi is ready to provoke them directly for no reason.

Thank god you had a firm hold on his hand or his arm so you could quickly drag him in another direction to avoid the innocent people.

Y/N: "Oh, look!"

Yes, you also like to pretend to see something that you would find interesting.

… In partially empty shop windows.

The nice thing is that he would still look to something you tell him to look at.

Niragi: "What the fuck should I look for?"

Y/N: "See the rocks there?"

Niragi: "You kidding me, right?"

There could actually be something interesting there.

Well, most of the times at least.

It's nearly impossible but who know?

He will touch his nose and look at you angrily- but not without laughing afterwards at your amiable stupidity.

Y/N: "OH, SEE WHAT I HAVE FOUND TH-"

Niragi: "What is it this time? Another boring and ugly stone you think it's fascinating?"

Y/N: "No ..."

Niragi: "Oh, what is it this time then?"

Y/N: "The tree there."

Damn, he loves you so much for what you are, he can't even be bothered.

I find it mildly humorous that Arisu and Karube went to the tag game to find a doctor for Chota, and they met Chishiya, a doctor (med student in the manga), yet left empty handed cause they never found out that he was one.

and I find it even funnier that even if they did ask, Chishiya would NOT have helped. He would've either straight up lied to their faces and went, "Oh, I'm just an accountant" or just tell them he was a doctor, then leave without helping at all

The only scenario I could see where he would've actually helped out is if Chishiya thought he could use them for one of his plans or smth.

“arisu, look!” (name) shouted towards him flapping his right hand signaling him to come faster. arisu inched closer towards the other, his eyes followed (name)’s in the direction of whatever he was staring at, two glass cups with sunflower designs on the rims. “aren’t they cute? and look they’re only a hundred yen!”

arisu smiled at the sight of his excitement, crossing his arms with a blushed face as he stared at the cups. “little yellow sunflowers?” he narrowed his eyes at the cups watching as (name) held them in his hands.

(name)’s smile faltered as he furrowed his brows, “eh … no good?”

“if you want them then buy them.”

he looked between the cups and arisu before shaking his head, “no, i won’t …” he mumbled placing the cups back into their original spots. arisu snapped his head with a shocked expression watching as he slowly walked away away from the isle.

“what, why not?” he questioned the other male, speedwalking towards him with a sorrow face. (name) stopped in his tracks with a pout forming on his lips, “ ‘cause if you don’t like them, then theres no reason for buying them!” he defended, “what’s the point if we both don’t use them?”

arisu looked between him and cups, raising his eyebrows as an idea formed in his head. a smile formed on his lips, “how about this,” he said walking back towards the shelf to grab the cups back, “as a gift, i’ll pay for all of the stuff we have and i’ll promise to you that we’ll use them every single time we hang out, deal?”

(name) smiled at this, quickly nodding his head as his smile grew bigger, “deal!” arisu placed the items into the basket they were using sharing a smile as equally big as his companions. “,,so you do like sunflowers,” (name) chirped turning his head to look at arisu with a blissful face.

“of course i love sunflowers!” arisu happily answered as he grabbed his hand, “now c’mon, lets get this shopping done before karube and chota start blowing up our phones.” the two laughed at the scenario as they made their way to explore the rest of the store.

“… is this a bad time to mention i don’t have enough money on me?”

“arisu!”

@cassiopeiagarcia can we talk? I think there's been a misunderstanding this morning, given how you just kicked me out of your room out of nowhere. Before reaching... hasty conclusions, I'd like to actually talk about the situation, like mature adults.

(under the cut is what happened right after Cass kicked him out of her room)

Soma exhales one last word and takes a deep breath to replenish all the air he’s lost from his sudden rant, staring at the man standing in front of him and blinking, expectantly waiting to see what he made of all this. Kuzuryuu looks dumbfounded. He’s not having the easiest time processing the words that have come out of Soma’s mouth like verbiage, though to be fair, Soma himself isn’t very much aware of what he’d said for the past ten minutes. All he could grasp from the thoughts flying across his mind were the words ‘Cass’, ‘Niragi’, and ‘Taylor Swift’.

“It’s… not possible, Soma,” offers Kuzuryuu tentatively, immediately drawing an exasperated expression from the younger man. 

“Why not?” He asks, impatient. “Listen, time works differently here, and all I’m saying is maybe we could ask the Joker to keep an eye out in case Taylor Swift maybe falls down the stairs, or suffers a heart attack.”

“I…” Kuzuryuu pauses for a second to pinch his furrowed brow. He’s usually a rather patient man when it comes to Soma’s ravings, but they’d apparently found the limit of it today and it involved trying to get Taylor Swift in the borderlands. “You’re not suggesting this seriously, are you?”

“Keiichi, you’re acting like I’m saying we should kill her!” Outrageous, frankly! Soma wouldn’t hurt a fly, especially not one who released such albums like Folklore. “I’m not! I’m just saying, if the occasion presented itself…”

“You want Taylor Swift, the singer, to come to the borderlands because you want her to write a breakup song for Cass and you,” Keiichi blurts, so quick and suddenly that his chest deflates after he’s done with the sentence. Maybe Soma should’ve suggested they sit down for this conversation, but it’s too late now. 

Soma nods enthusiastically. “You get it. I feel like this could help me process what’s going on; I could just cry it all out and try to stop thinking about it.”

“Couldn’t you do that with an existing song?”

“I mean I could try to, but IF I had the chance —because this is all just me hoping for a best case scenario!— if I had it, then a custom one would be better, no? Besides, it’s Taylor Swift. I’m usually more of a Lana del Rey type of dude, but I feel like Taylor could understand better what I’m going through. Though Marina could perhaps—“

“Soma,” Kuzuryuu interrupts. “How do you know if Cass has actually broken up with you?”

“Well, I mean…” okay, maybe they hadn’t had that conversation yet, but they hadn’t had the conversation of them being a formal couple either, so it’s not like having conversations about things was the glue holding them together. “She’s been flirting with Niragi after I joked about kissing Karube. Which, honestly, such a gorgeous man, so I don’t get wh—“

“No,” says Keiichi, taking off his glasses and slumping on the chair, something that looked like he’d been wanting to do for a while now. “Just… no. Talk to her.”

“But—“

“I’m not entertaining this further until you’ve talked to her and you actually know for a fact she’s broken up with you.”

“And if she has, then we can talk about getting Taylor—“

“Still no,” Kuzuryuu interrupts, turning his chair around to face the desk like there’s work he has to do, but the table’s empty, so the action feels a bit off. “But I could show you a few books that contain the themes of grief and loss which I think you’d rather apprecia—“

Before he can finish the sentence, the door of Keiichi’s room is closed shut and Soma is nowhere to be seen.

If you're ever looking for new ideas to explore, I'd love to see something with Niragi and Karube forced to work together during a spades game, but in a scenario where they're the only ones left standing. The clash of their personalities, combined with the high stakes, would be such a great backdrop for tension, reluctant teamwork, or maybe even something deeper. Of course, no pressure - your current ideas are already gold! I'm just excited to see what you write next 😊

it’s certainly a fun idea and i’ll keep it in mind - but i am running slightly low on game ideas lately haha (been using too many of them for my niragi/oc fic)

i do think karube’s brutality in the seven of hearts game get overlooked. like, that man was fully prepared to kill shibuki and his friends for a few solid minutes there before he came back to himself. i think it’d be fun to play around with that, and for niragi to see that side of him when he has an idea of karube being some ‘good guy hero jock’-type.

Ah, this is what Eve must have been hearing, huh? This is the kind of ringing in her ears she'd tried to describe to Adam. Or maybe he is Adam in this scenario and maybe he's both, maybe Adam and Eve were one person all along, and where the side of him that is Eve had already bitten into the apple and allowed its flesh to stick between his teeth like regurgitated blood and was now trying to convince the rest of him, wholly Adam, that surely it wouldn't be so bad.

Except that Akina isn't the apple, Akina is not Eve, Akina couldn't ever be Adam, and in a way she isn't the snake either. It's easier to equal her to God, placing the tree in a spot so easy to reach, keeping a careful eye on him as he stares back, as they exchange looks written as reliably as the scripture itself, speaking silently of the truth that Karube will reach for it.

He breaks eye contact to pull his cigarette out of his mouth and throw it to the ground.

It's only half-smoked.

He tosses it to the ground like alien smile pulled out of his lungs, as if it burned him, as if it'd infected him, as if he didn't want to see the imprint of his unspoken words on the paper.

He doesn't quite have it in him to smile. Which is why attempting it only leads to something so wry, some part of him would suggest having put better effort into swallowing it might have tasted even sourer but would have turned his expression into something less akin to what he actually feels like.

This isn't a game they're playing. Not anymore at least. Not when he forgets about Emi for days but would know his way to Akina blind.

"What's with this 'deserving' shit," he misses the cigarette already, but he hadn't had anything else to throw. He shifts his back against the wall, slides down ever so slightly to make the balancing act of leaning against the wall like this even more precarious.

"Why?"

Why would you of all people say that? What do you have to gain from that? Why do we talk at all, why are we here, why am I always with you and never with her and why have I stopped giving a fuck-- why am I relieved when she's with him and not with me?

Least she could do is tell him what he already knows.

"Bad-mouthing Emi? Isn't she your friend?"

- daikichi would absolutely LOVE to have an affectionate s/o

- he may be rough around the edges but he really is a soft guy who cares a lot about you

- he can't keep his hands off you, so for you to be the same makes him so happy to know his feelings are reciprocated

- daikichi isn't very good with words, so he tends to show how much he loves you through his actions, so hearing loving words about him gets him easily flustered

- fucking loves hugs from behind, especially early in the morning when he (attempts) cooks food for breakfast before you're awake and he suddenly feels your body pressed against his

- he also does the same to you but it doesn't matter when or where, he'll just walk up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist while resting his chin on your shoulder or head

- always wears this smirk whenever you do something affectionate around arisu and chota because he knows it pisses them off that he has a relationship and they don't

- literally doesn't give a shit what you do in public with him because he loves you so much that you could slap him and he'd be like "thank you"

- daikichi gets very flustered in private though, and it'll be the only times you'll see a blush appear on his cheeks and be at a loss for words

- loves surprise kisses, it just makes him feel all giddy inside when you randomly kiss him when he wasn't expecting it

- it's rare, but sometimes when cuddling daikichi likes to be the little spoon and be held by you, he doesn't know why, but he enjoys the comfort of it and falls asleep much faster

- likes dates with just the two of you alone because it means you two are only focused on each other and no one else, and because he is a little possessive

- goes to the movies with you just so he can have an arm wrapped around you if it's a horror movie (it always is) so he can feel like he's protecting you

- daikichi is a sucker for holding hands, and he loves it even more when you initiate them, it makes him so happy knowing you like holding onto his hand just as much as he enjoys holding onto yours

- daikichi seriously loves you more than anything, and to have you being so affectionate towards him makes him feel like he's doing something right for once in his life, and he doesn't want to fuck it up

You walk like every night to the pub where Karube works, by now it had become a routine for you two. You both enjoyed spending time together, especially after he'd had a hard day at work or had a fight with his boss. Today is one of those days.

You suddenly froze, your eyes wide open and your expression - which until a few seconds before was cheerful - changes completely. He is there, outside the door of the pub, leaning against the wall. His back hits the cold wall behind him, one hand holding a bloodstained handkerchief over his nose. He has a few bruises under his eye, a cut on the lip and a dirty nose. You ran towards him and without realizing it.....you are trembling. He raises his head, trying to wipe his nose as best he can with the wet handkerchief.

- H-hey Sunshine, how ar- -

- Karube...-

Your tears started flowing down your cheeks, you don't want to see him like that, you just can't.

- No no no, hey, don't cry please, please...sssh, don’t cry...-

He throws the handkerchief away somewhere, he didn't care that much. Seeing you cry hurt him much more than his sore nose. He takes your face in his hands, wiping your tears with his thumbs You look up to meet his gaze, his nose has now stopped dripping.

- How can I not cry for you? -

You push him away, pulling away a little from him as he stands still, shocked, while continuing to stare at you with a worried look. He has never been this close and your body feels on fire. You don't want him to be able to feel your tremor, despite being visible.

- If I got too close to you, I apologize, it was not my intention to disrespect you -

You keep shaking, you feel your cheeks on fire, the words don't come out. Why is it so difficult to confess your feelings? You are just afraid, afraid of losing him after your words. But you can't go on living like that, you want him too much.

- No I ... I want you Karube, I like you and I ... I love you -

You stammer, look at the floor as you put your hands to your face and burst into tears. Karube stands still after your confession, the world around him stops. He will go, you know, you scared him and you will lost him as a friend. This is what you think.

You feel strong arms squeezing you and forcing you to rest your cheek on Karube's chest. Feel his lips on your head, he begins to leave you many small and sweet kisses. He holds you tighter when a sob comes out of you. After a few seconds - which seemed like hours to you - of silence, Karube finally speaks.

- I have always loved you Y/N, from the first moment I saw you, you are my Sunshine, my only Sunshine -

The air was frozen around you. No breeze or slight wind was present in the slightest, making the atmosphere unsettling. Even the crows were silent, having lost their usual screeching that rang through everyone’s ears throughout the day.

Your adrenaline has been on a constant flow through your veins since you survived the first game. Watching the young high school girl get penetrated by the laser struck a deep chord within you. You couldn’t move a muscle as Karube pulled you into the next room before you were engulfed in flames.

You’ve never experienced anything like this world. Where has everyone gone? Who is running the games? Are there any other players?

A young woman that you met last night at the first game named Shibuki decided to stick by your sides for a while. You all took refuge in an empty mall, considering the amount of resources that would be available to you that could come in handy for some reason or another.

Shibuki sat everyone down after a good night’s sleep and explained the concept of the world you were now trapped in. She had only been present in the game for a little longer than you, but you still put trust in her as she obviously knew more than the four of you.

Your boyfriend Karube, who you happened to be with at the time of everyone’s disappearance, has become more anxious about your safety. Since things started becoming peculiar, he has remained tight to your side, ready to shield you from god knows what.

That was just his personality. Yes, he could be blunt and impatient sometimes, but he honestly did care about Alice, Chota and you more than you guys could have ever imagined. He knew he was the brawn of your small friendship group, so he took it upon himself to be the protector.

But unfortunately, him and Alice were too confident and curious for their own good. Alice and Karube had a private chat on one of the mall balcony's discussing whether they should go to an extra game to gain an idea about how they play out, but also to see if they were able to find any players that had a past in medical fields to perhaps look at Chota’s searing burn injury on his lower right leg.

When it came to the next day, Karube talked to you in private without the others, wanting to have some alone time with you.

“Wait what?” you asked shocked. “You’re going to another game? Karube, I’m sorry but are you an idiot? You saw what happened in the game we went to, you could die at any moment!” you exclaimed at him. Karube went silent from your outburst but tried to reason with you. “Look Y/N, I know you’re worried but Alice and I need to see how this place works so we can protect you and Chota.” he said, placing a hand on your cheek.

“But what about you? Who’s going to protect you?” you remarked. You were scared more than anything. You didn’t want to wake up the next morning to find that Karube and Alice never returned. It would’ve absolutely shattered your heart.

He looked up at you from his position on the bed in remorse. He felt awful putting you through the stress, but he knew he had to do it if you wanted to stay alive for as long as you could.

“Come here,” he said after a short juncture of silence. You glanced at his stressed face before moving towards the bed and placing your thighs comfortably on his lap. He wrapped his strong arms around your frame and held you tightly against him.

It should’ve felt comforting, but at that moment it didn’t. If anything, you were dreading the hug because it felt like a goodbye.

“I’m so sorry baby, but I have to go.” Karube rested his chin on top of your head. “I promise you I will do everything in my power to make sure I come back safe and sound.”

He felt you move your head up and down in a nod against him. You pressed your face into his orange shirt. “I know you’ll come back. A stupid game wouldn’t get rid of you. The world would have to work much harder to kill you off.”

Karube chuckled and pulled back to look into your eyes. “You’re right. I’ll be back before you know it.” he claimed.

You wished that were true. There you were now, standing out on a stone ledge looking over a big part of Shibuya. The lack of hustling and bustling from thousands of people was strange to get accustomed to. It was unsettling, almost frightening.

“Why the fuck did I let them go?” you cursed, letting out a harsh huff of breath. “This is bullshit. They have another day on their visa. We could have all waited until tomorrow to go to another game together.”

You heard Chota let out an agreeing hum from the table he was seated at  behind you. “It does seem a bit pointless now that we’ve had time to stress about it,” he admitted.

You slouched forward, having hoped for at least a positive response from Chota to reassure you. You continued to keep scanning the streets below you, looking for any sign of another person. Anxiety filled your body the more you looked and couldn’t spot him.

“Shit,” you breathed out, rubbing your face with your hands. “Chota, what if they die?”

“Shh, don’t talk like that. They’ll be fine,” he shushed you quickly, trying to keep worse case scenarios out of his head.

Several hours later after the sun had set, you saw the familiar unpleasant light that indicated where the games were. Karube and Alice had left early to try and look for a doctor for Chota’s leg, so you knew they would then be on their way to the game.

Your heart leapt to your throat and stayed there for several hours as you laid on a couch. You couldn’t help but envision awful ways that Karube could possibly be killed. Before you knew it, hot tears began pooling in your orbs and running down your face onto the pillow underneath your head.

“Oh fuck,” you cried, your voice cracking, “Please be okay Karube. I can’t live on in this world without you.” You let out soft little sobs, trying to stay quiet in order not to alert Chota or Shibuki who were in the room over from you.

Quite literally, you cried yourself to sleep. Your eyes became heavier and heavier alongside the irritation that the tears brought. You closed your eyes and allowed yourself to pass out, manifesting the vision of seeing Karube laying next to you when you wake up. He would be unharmed and have the biggest smile on his handsome face, ready to pepper kisses all over your face to make up for all the stress he put you through for going to the game without you.

Soon enough, you woke abruptly from a loud noise coming from the door of the room, watching as it swung open harshly to reveal Alice holding Karube by the arm, acting as a crutch.

Karube stumbled in clutching his side. He glanced up with stained tears of pain in his eyes and smiled when he saw you still half-asleep on the couch.

You widened your eyes in surprise and breathed a sigh of relief. “Oh my god, Karube! Alice! Thank god.”

You scrambled to your feet and rushed over to the two exhausted men to help Alice out with Karube. Karube lifted his arm and wrapped it around you as you crashed into him in a reunion hug. Karube winced heavily from the huge machete wound in his side stinging.

“It’s okay baby, we’re okay,” he comforted you, pushing his face into your hair and breathing in your scent. You felt tears filling your vision again, the relief of seeing Karube safe and sound in your arms again being too overwhelming.

Ten minutes later, after everyone welcomed Alice and Karube back, you and Karube were sitting on the couch while the others searched for something fresh to eat further in the mall (which would be a challenge). Karube was wincing as you lifted up his black t-shirt to take a look at the wound he gained from the tagger in the ‘Tag’ game.

“Shit babe,” you groaned. Luckily it appeared like the machete hadn’t cut too deep into his abdomen. He wouldn’t need stitches, just disinfectant and a tight bandage to stop the blood flow.

Karube watched you as you walked over to the table to grab the disinfectant and medical bandage to use on him. He felt on edge because you hadn’t said much since he’d returned from the game. He was thinking maybe you were agitated with him.

“Y/N,” he said, catching your attention. “I’m sorry I went to the game. I know it was a mistake now,” he admitted, hanging his head low apologetically.

You shook your head disapprovingly and focused back on his wound. “Yeah, it was a mistake. This is the least that could’ve happened Karube.”

He could tell you were annoyed, because you always got smart with him when he’s angered you.

“Now you’re going to be disadvantaged at your next game with this gaping wound in your side.” You stated. You began pouring the rubbing alcohol onto a cloth. “Just warning you, this is going to hurt but try not to squirm too much.”

Karube nodded and held his black t-shirt up so you could disinfect his injury. As you pressed the cloth to the slice, Karube hissed and placed his hand over yours. “Just be gentle,” he stammered.

You nodded and continued to go slow.

After you managed to clean his injury, he stood up so you could wrap the bandage around his abdomen. He stared at you as you did so, smiling to himself about how lucky he was to have you look after him like this.

When you were done, you brushed off your hands and placed the disinfectant back on the table. Karube sat back down and looked at you.

“Thank you Y/N,” he said in a sweet tone. You glanced over your shoulder and saw him gazing at you lovingly. You grinned, being glad that he was okay.

“You’re welcome,” you answered. “Can you promise me something?” you asked, turning around fully to face him. Karube leant forward and rested his elbows on his knees. “Of course, anything for you.”

“If it ever came to a choice between you or me to continue living, you need to promise me that you’ll choose yourself,” you murmured. Karube’s cheeky smile rolled off his face, replaced by a confused expression.

“Why would I do that? I love you. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I survived but you didn’t.” he said sadly, reaching out his arms to invite you into a hug.

You took the invitation and trudged over to him, standing between his legs and letting him wrap his strong arms around your waist while resting his head on your stomach.

“Yeah, I know you would Karube. I feel the same way but, you have a dream and a bright future ahead of you. I wouldn’t want to take that away from you if it came to that.” you ran your fingers through his coarse, bleached blonde hair and he let out a big sigh.

“But my dream is you Y/N. I want to stay with you,” he professed. “I want to leave this place with you, no one else.”

You felt your heart clutch itself in your chest. You felt awful. You didn’t know what to do or say to make things seem better than they were. That was the horrific reality about that world, nothing you could ever say would make things better or more comforting.

“Why don’t we just focus on surviving and keeping each other alive for now and focus on the more serious stuff when it comes to it,” Karube spoke up, resting his chin against your stomach to look up at you with his big dark eyes.

You stared down at him with so much love. You do anything to keep him with you, to keep him happy and safe. Just his eyes alone show the amount of love and care he holds in his blunt heart.

You smiled slowly and nodded your head in agreement. “Of course. Let’s just focus on staying alive right now so we can have many more moments together.”

The hot kind of jealous; he has that jaw-clenching thing down. Karube finds himself being green-eyed frequently. You're with him, and he thinks everyone should respect that but pair that with his trait of being protective, he gets jealous quite a lot. Definitely wouldn't admit to it, but plus side, he looks sexy as he fumes in the corner with his arms crossed over his chest, watching you; well, that's until he begins stalking over to you. Good luck to anyone who tries anything flirty with you.

Usagi:

Doesn't realize she's jealous at first, she gets really annoyed when people flirt with you, but it takes her a while to understand. She'll fight for you, not physically, unless they try to hurt her, then she will protect herself and you. She's the type to stay close by and scoff at your admirer's words, her eyes roll every few minutes, and you can literally hear her teeth grinding, but she gives you a wide smile and thumbs up when you catch her mid-annoyance.

Chishiya:

Honestly, Chishiya's jealousy varies. While he is completely laid back, on the other hand, when it comes to you, he isn't willing to leave things to chance. He believes he is the best choice for you and knows you'd never leave him, but he doesn't like seeing people try their luck. Straight-faced, but no one sees his clenched fists inside his jacket pockets. His sass is 10/10 if he catches your admirer alone; he doesn't want you to see him jealous. Hates when Niragi flirts with you to try and get a reaction out of him.

Kuina:

When Kuina gets jealous, she gets stuck between 'fight and insecure.' While she wants to go and roundhouse kick anyone threatening her relationship with you. She does, unfortunately, feel some sort of insecurity. She wonders if you'll fall for their jokes or looks, but then she remembers you're with her, and then her fight comes back. The type to physically defend you when needed.

Niragi:

He refuses to believe that he gets jealous. He is simply overprotective. You're his, so he's obviously just being protective of you as he glares at anyone daring enough to look in your general direction or brave enough to talk to you. Niragi is the type to take his annoyance out on you because you should have done something to stop that person from flirting with you. In his mind, you're asking for attention if you don't immediately rebuff other's advances.

Ann:

Her jealousy comes out in her emotions, her disgust for people shows clearly on her face. Treats anyone like they're a germ if she catches them flirting with you. She's not the type to get in a physical fight over it, but her sass could kill anyway. If you ask what's wrong, she'll just ignore the question and kiss you in front of the 'perpetrator' side-eyeing them during it.

Mira:

Sits silently like a pouty child, but on the inside, she's plotting murder. Mira's jealousy could be seen as the calm before the storm type. Niragi had been ignoring you. Normally you couldn’t get him to leave you the hell alone, but now he was going out of his way to stay away from you.

You weren’t sure why, but you convinced yourself it was a blessing. You didn’t attempt conversation with him, the both of you acted as if the other person didn’t exist. It was mostly fine except… he was acting weird.

The Niragi you knew was obnoxious and loud, and excessively violent. He fired his rifle every 2 hours usually, using it to threaten someone or just because he could. This Niragi was quiet, he brooded and glared, staring into space. But this Niragi had also killed an insane amount of people over the past week, the numbers were ridiculous, even for him.

What was his deal?

You weren’t shocked. He could fuck whoever he liked, he could fuck everyone at The Beach and everyone in Tokyo if he felt like it. You had no hold on him, you shouldn’t have cared.

But you did.

You weren’t hurt, per se, more annoyed than anything else. Annoyed and— disappointed? A part of you, however small, had liked him. You had wanted him despite yourself.

You let out a scoff before pushing yourself away from the bar, tearing your eyes away from where Niragi had wrapped himself around a pretty girl. You grabbed your drink and wandered along the edge of the dance floor.

The music had turned sensual, you watched Niragi from the corner of your eye, his hand was on her chest. You took a long sip from your drink, your lips closed around the vibrant, red straw as you cast your eyes down.

“Alright, Y/n?”

You rolled your eyes. Not another psycho.

“Fine, Chishiya. What brings you here? Thought you hated everything human.” you switched to English, stepping closer to the blonde-haired man to better hear him over the booming music.

“I don't hate humans, just the stupid ones.” he replied, his hands stuffed into his pockets and his shoulders were relaxed. But his narrowed gaze gave him away, he was watching everyone and everything around the two of you.

“Ah, so you hate humans.” you retorted, your voice flat even as someone bumped into you, pushing you closer to the cat-like man. He smirked before giving a conceding nod.

“I don't hate you. Does that mean anything?” you laughed, he wanted something from you. You didn't have the same mind for tricks and clever schemes as he did, but you could read people, you knew when someone was trying to manipulate you.

His words became slippery and careful, his posture carefully relaxed and open towards you. You rolled your eyes again, knocking your drink back before looking into his eyes.

“What do you want, kitty?” you questioned, aiming to annoy him with the nickname. He showed no reaction other than a scoffed laugh, he stepped closer until you were chest to chest. He reached a hand out to your waist, his long fingers dug into your flesh slightly.

You remained unimpressed but followed his lead, slinging an arm over his shoulder. He leaned into your ear, his cheek brushed yours.

“What happened between you and Niragi? He had been following you around like a puppy and now he has his hand down a girl’s swimsuit.”

You couldn't help flicking your eyes over to where Niragi had been shoving his tongue down her throat, he didn’t seem as interested anymore. His eyes flickered in your direction and you suddenly understood Chishiya’s true intentions. The girl was kissing Niragi’s neck and pawing at his chest, his hand was down her swimsuit. Your brow furrowed and you scoffed again before pressing your lips to Chishiya’s ear.

“Absolutely nothing. He saved my ass in the last game we went on together and since then he's been pretending I don't exist. I don't know what I did, and I don’t care, he can fuck all the way off and so can you.” you stepped away from Chishiya and turned to go back to the bar, ready for another drink before he attached himself to your back.

He brought a hand to your jaw, turning your ear towards his lips, once more. His other arm wrapped around your waist.

“He’s out of control, somehow he's even worse than before. He’ll kill everyone at The Beach before next week comes around if you don't fix this.” Chishiya’s tone was mild but you could tell he was serious.

You could very clearly see Niragi from the way Chishiya had positioned your face, he had straightened and was barely paying the girl any more attention, pulling his head away from her small hands so he could stay focused on you.

You sighed and relaxed back into Chishiya’s body, he took your weight with ease, he had started moving the two of you to the music and you felt your lips curl in amusement.

“How are his temper tantrums my problem?”

Chishiya was a startlingly good dancer for someone who steered clear of large groups of sweaty, drunk people. He was also surprisingly in tune with your body, you noticed as he guided your hips against his own.

“Because he’s obsessed with you. He might even love you.” your head snapped around, you glared into Chishiya’s cold and calculating eyes. You couldn't help but sense something familiar in that gaze. You huffed a small laugh, he and Niragi really were similar at times.

“He isn't.” you argued, spinning in Chishiya’s arms and wrapping your arms around his neck.

“Then why can't he stop staring at you, Y/n?” he whispered before turning so your back was facing Niragi. You hissed at Chishiya and held yourself back from stomping on his foot as he ground his hips into you, you rolled your body against his, still playing along with him for whatever reason.

You glanced at Chishiya to see his eyes fixed on something behind you, he smirked before turning his nose into your hair, inhaling before flicking his tongue against the shell of your ear.

“Ew, don't lick me, stupid cat.” you grumbled in his mother tongue, his eyes were still empty of any emotion even as his palms settled over the curve of your ass.

“Gotta make it seem convincing, Y/n.” He pushed a thigh between both of yours and you rolled your eyes again, tangling your hands in his hair and pulling hard, exposing his Adam’s apple and collar bones. He let out an impressive groan and you snorted in laughter before leaning closer.

You had just brushed your lips against the underside of his jaw when a harsh hand ripped you away from the blonde-haired man.
