HIIII ALICE IN BORDERLAND FANDOM ID LIKE TO ADRESS SOME VERY VERY INTERESTING MANGA LORE / ANGST ABOUT KYUMA AND MIRA

So for those who don’t know, all of the game masters during arisu’s time arrived only days after eachother and all met very quickly- almost becoming a group like we see with our protagonists.

Mira met Kuzuryu (the king of diamonds) , and then they came to encounter Shirabi (the king of spades) who was on his fourth day, On kyumas 2nd day he left his band in the morning to go for a run and this is when he bumped into Shirabi, who was exercising to the radio.

Not too long after mira approaches shirabi for the first time, as he was burying someone. She asks why he was burying someone he didn't even know, and he tells her that humans don't want to die atop some asphalt, that it breaks the cycle of life. This fascinates mira who tells him that she'll plant some seeds on top of the graves, and water them everyday until they grow. Eventually, they all start sprouting flower buds.

Every morning they all met up at the same place to do radio calisthenics and to talk. Mira and Kuzuryu played a game of chess once while getting to know each other better. One of my favourite quotes is “she is seen proudly showing off the massive fish she caught to Kyūma.”

It is said on the 87th day of sojourn for the king of spades is when they all had their final game and were given the option to stay or leave the borderlands, this means they spent 87 mornings together and more😭 can you imagine the regular morning meet the day after kyuma died, him simply not turning up after all that time and the group knowing it was because he lost his game and was gone.

When they finally only had one game card left to beat, kyuma suggested a celebration in which they completed it together for the first time. Their first and only group game together was their last before they all chose to stay in the borderlands and became game masters of the cards they beat. This meant their last game was a game of clubs.

and like i don’t fucking care, mira and kyuma were BESTIES i tell you!!! she finds the beauty in human nature and would’ve loved kyumas outlook on life and his little quirks. My favourite platonic rare pair right there!!!

he can tend to get manipulative when things go south, and you match his energy

but the tension is honestly the best part of your relationship

there is so much teasing and banter between the two of you

affection can get really exciting between the two of you because of this. after a day full of teasing it's quite interesting to see who breaks first in terms of relationship things

it's very true that two heads are greater than one

when one person makes the plan, the other will go over it and quickly catch any mistakes or holes that are missing

Definitely asks Karube for some advice on how to deal with jealousy.

Karube:

The hot kind of jealous; he has that jaw-clenching thing down. Karube finds himself being green-eyed frequently. You're with him, and he thinks everyone should respect that but pair that with his trait of being protective, he gets jealous quite a lot. Definitely wouldn't admit to it, but plus side, he looks sexy as he fumes in the corner with his arms crossed over his chest, watching you; well, that's until he begins stalking over to you. Good luck to anyone who tries anything flirty with you.

Usagi:

Doesn't realize she's jealous at first, she gets really annoyed when people flirt with you, but it takes her a while to understand. She'll fight for you, not physically, unless they try to hurt her, then she will protect herself and you. She's the type to stay close by and scoff at your admirer's words, her eyes roll every few minutes, and you can literally hear her teeth grinding, but she gives you a wide smile and thumbs up when you catch her mid-annoyance.

Chishiya:

Honestly, Chishiya's jealousy varies. While he is completely laid back, on the other hand, when it comes to you, he isn't willing to leave things to chance. He believes he is the best choice for you and knows you'd never leave him, but he doesn't like seeing people try their luck. Straight-faced, but no one sees his clenched fists inside his jacket pockets. His sass is 10/10 if he catches your admirer alone; he doesn't want you to see him jealous. Hates when Niragi flirts with you to try and get a reaction out of him.

Kuina:

When Kuina gets jealous, she gets stuck between 'fight and insecure.' While she wants to go and roundhouse kick anyone threatening her relationship with you. She does, unfortunately, feel some sort of insecurity. She wonders if you'll fall for their jokes or looks, but then she remembers you're with her, and then her fight comes back. The type to physically defend you when needed.

Niragi:

He refuses to believe that he gets jealous. He is simply overprotective. You're his, so he's obviously just being protective of you as he glares at anyone daring enough to look in your general direction or brave enough to talk to you. Niragi is the type to take his annoyance out on you because you should have done something to stop that person from flirting with you. In his mind, you're asking for attention if you don't immediately rebuff other's advances.

Ann:

Her jealousy comes out in her emotions, her disgust for people shows clearly on her face. Treats anyone like they're a germ if she catches them flirting with you. She's not the type to get in a physical fight over it, but her sass could kill anyway. If you ask what's wrong, she'll just ignore the question and kiss you in front of the 'perpetrator' side-eyeing them during it.

Mira:

Sits silently like a pouty child, but on the inside, she's plotting murder. Mira's jealousy could be seen as the calm before the storm type. If you question her jealousy, she gives a small giggle and laughs it off, but inside, her wrath is building. ❥ but then, you needed help on a paper for school and arisu was right next to you. you would ask karube, but you knew he wouldnt understand anything you wouldve said, and youve heard from karube that arisu was pretty smart so why not? you asked arisu the for help which he gladly accepted, he was bored anyway. soon enough you got the awnser. (which earned a snort from karube)

❥ then you like MET, MET in a video game

❥ karube and you knew each other fairly well and arisu knew that

❥ so instead of arisu talking to you himself, he seriously asked karube for your instagram

❥ after karube poking fun at arisu for ‘liking you’ he finally got it.

❥ you instagram led to your discord

❥ your discord led to your playstation (please idk if arisu played playstation or xbox.... or neither. kill me.)

❥ he saw you were in a game so he took that as his chance to add you as a friend cause if you were in a game you most likely wouldnt accept or deny it right away

❥ he joined the game you were playing and kinda just like did absolutely nothing

❥ he just watched you play

❥ he ended up being really impressed with how good you were doing tbh

❥ when you were done with the round you were playing you quickly accepted the request from arisu, knowing it was him since karube was laughing his ass off when arisu first texted him about you. 

❥ when you went to meet the guys at the mall the next day you immediately went up to arisu seeing as he was right where he said they would be, talking with karube and chota. 

❥ when you walked up to them karube whistled

❥ slowly turning to face arisu karube said “woooowww! look at that! someone is talking to you man!” 

❥ after another teasing remark towards arisu karube patted both of you on the sholder with a wink before walking away, chota frantically following behind him.

❥ “so..how’d you get my gamer tag hm?” (this is so stupid) you smirked

“i- what? i- i  didnt?” he would lie his thumbs safely tucked into the straps of his backpack over his shoulders. 

 “god your such a bad liar! look at you, not making eye contact at all, squeezing onto the staps of your backpack like im gonna kill you. karube wasent even trying to shut up when you texted him. i mean quite literally, laugh and reading me the text messages.”

 “well seeing as you dont have a problem with any of that.. could i maybe- possibly get your line? or- or something” 

❥ he was so shy it was adorable

❥ and so for a few months, you guys were inseparable.

❥ every time karube was with arisu so were you.

❥ every time you were with karube so was arisu.

❥ yet, you were both still oblivious to your feelings towards each other.

❥ karube was obviously not, still taking ‘sarcastic’ jabs at the two of you.

❥ playing games together, calling, sleeping, going to school, not going to school, pretty much everything was done together. 

❥ however, that included the borederlands.

❥ you were with karube, arisu, and chota when everyone but you guys seemingly disappeared. 

❥ at first it was fun, just you and your best friends with you and not needing to worry about anything at all.

❥ until it wasent.

❥ now it wasent pretty much everything was done together. it was absolutely everything was done together.

❥ but it still wasent until the hearts game that you guys didnt anything officially romantic together.

❥ you had gotten split up from everyone else during another game, earning you to miss the hearts game.

❥ when you went back to the apartment the five of you were staying in you expected to see everyone. chota, karube, arisu, shibuki. everyone. 

❥ instead, you were met with no one. 

❥ panic hit you right away thinking the worst of the worst. ‘they couldve just been getting food right?’

❥ quickly whipping towards the door, you didnt know if you were safe or as you heard the door to the apartment open hurriedly. 

❥ luckily you were.

❥ “oh my god arisu! where were you? wh- wheres everyone else-”

you were cut off from arisu walking towards you, pulling your face to his. his pull was harsh, though you knew he didnt mean it. the feel of his hands on the side of you cheeks were the opposite though. gentle, caring, loving, but.... they were..slightly shaking? before you pulled away, you felt a tear touch your cheek.

“why are you shaking? please tell me something..” you said to him looking in his eyes, trying to find anything other then the tears and almost numbness.

“theyre gone. y/n everyone is gone. but your not, oh thank god your not.” arisu cries. he puts his hands back on your cheeks but he doesnt kiss you this time. his eye just keeps darting all over you almost as if he was questioning if you were really there. “please- please will you be my partner?” he quickly asks breathing heavily.

“what?”

“loosing the others made me realize how much i actually love you i cant loose you i didnt and if i do i cant have you die not knowing how i feel about you” 

“yeah- yeah! yeah ill be your partner” you conform as you drag him over to the couch in the middle of the room. when you guys lay down you end up spooning, him being the little. your arms get rapped in with arisu’s and he tightly grips both of your hands in his, burying his face between his chest and your arms. you press light kisses to his neck and into his hair as he slowly starts to get his breathing down. 

you werent going to make him talk about anything. you figured if he wanted to he would. right now the two of you were fine like this. you tried to imagine what arisu went through, what happend, what happend to karube? he was your best friend. if you couldnt thank him for that you wouldve liked to at least thank him for getting you and arisu to where you are now. 

you eventually get snapped out of your thoughts as you hear soft, even, quiet breathing. arisu had fallen asleep. in your arms. you sniffed slightly thinking about how karube would be making fun of you guys right now and the amount of sex jokes he would try.

you kiss arisu’s head again whispering a ‘i love you too’ into his hair before drifted off to sleep yourself.

you watch as the blonde leans over the counter to whisper something in her ear. he's awfully close for someone who was supposed to be just a coworker to the boss' wife. you just know he would be losing his mind if he knew what was going on, but you just couldn't figure out how he hadn't caught wind of it yet.

karube had only been here for two months, and already he was trying to get into your sister-in-law's pants. you would watch them, rolling your eyes at their pitiful attempts at hiding it from your step-brother. the guy wasn't stupid, you were sure, but how could he be so unbearably blind?

"you should stop while you're ahead." you tell him when your sister-in-law leaves for the day, going home to her husband. it was you and karube's shift now. "she's a snake."

karube looks back at you with a raised brow as he wiped down the tables. it was just after dinner-time, so you would expect only a few customers soon. "what are you talking about?"

you huff back, organising the bottles behind the counter, "you think she likes you for real?"

"well, yeah?" karube responds, "she said she does."

you raise a brow at him, holding your chin in your hand as you watch karube play with the rag. "y'know, when he brought her to our parents' house for the first time, she tried to sleep with me after dinner." you state, seeing karube stop and stare in your direction, "and then the next day when her husband went grocery shopping."

he scoffs, "so what? you sleep with her? saying she's yours?"

"did you not hear a word i said?" you mumble, tilting your head, "i didn't sleep with her. i'm saying she's free range for anybody, so don't feel special."

the tone in your voice makes him clench his jaw. he looks down at the material in his hand. "you gonna' tell on me to your brother?" he questions.

you shake your head. "step-brother. his mother met my father overseas." you explain, finishing with stocking up the bottles. you turn on the sign outside again, watching the flickering lights. "i'm not going to tell him. i haven't told him about the other times she put herself on me, he can find that out himself."

"you don't get along with the boss?" he asks, standing next to you.

"he's an asshole. the only reason i work for him now is because my other job's building needs renovations. otherwise i'd be out of here." you claim. you turn your head to see him listening intently, and then soften your harsh tone. "look, you seem like a good guy, other than you trying to hook up with a married woman, so i'm gonna' tell you this: find someone honest, someone to tell you what's what and won't make you feel like a second choice, like a reverse. it's the least you deserve."

you've heard him on the phone with his friends, and seen them when they come in after hours. you let it slide, noticing how nice they all were together. three peas in a pod. the smart, the sweet, and the strong.

you would hear them from the backroom laughing, or say 'goodbye' to them when leaving. arisu and chota, you heard once. and karube always made sure to clean up after them.

once a customer was being rude to you, and he stepped in and escorted the man out (he pushed him harshly through the front doors, earning him a warning from the boss). he was rough around the edges, but respectful, where it counted.

so when you saw him talking to your sister-in-law in a suggestive way, you couldn't help but think 'what a waste'. such a great guy going after someone like her.

"is that supposed to be something nice? are you trying to compliment me?" he asks in a teasing tone, smiling as he tries to get a good look of your face.

but you turn away, going to refill the soda dispensers beside you. with a bit of embarrassment burning your cheeks, you moved out of his view. "shut up. i'm just saying..." you murmur under your breath.

you've always been this cold character in the bar. while his boss' wife actively threw herself at him, you were distant when your step-brother and the woman were around. but when it was you and karube, you spoke more openly, he's sure you'd crack a joke with him about four times while he was there.

but he knew you were a nice person. he could tell by the way you would 'accidentally leave your extra dinner while he was on close by himself and tell him to keep it since you couldn't be bothered coming back for it. or in the way you would cover up his rookie mistakes by taking responsibility for them. you cared about him, he knew it.

"okay... fine." karube suddenly says, making you look over your shoulder to him, "i'll stop messing around with her. in exchange for a date with you."

"excuse me?" you deadpan, watching the stupid smile on his face grow. karube was dumb sometimes, but now? an idiot. "you're joking."

"no, i'm not." he says, sidling up beside you as you continue to do your task, "if i gotta' stop hanging around her, then i need a distraction, someone else to spend all my spare time with." karube glances down at you, seeing the cautious look in your eyes. "and we're good coworkers, aren't we? help a guy out, y/n. please?"

you can't help but roll your eyes at his immature tone. you knew he was right, he needed a distraction. or else he'd so running back to her. it'd be best if he didn't, then you wouldn't have to deal with your step-brother's nagging.

maybe part of the reason why you thought of his plan well, was because you had grown fond of the blonde. when he wasn't around the wife, he was quite funny. and considerate, with how he gave you your space when you wanted it.

he was a good guy, deep down. maybe his infatuation with something he couldn't have had clouded his vision.

"how about tonight, after we close, we head to this good food joint?" he offers, suddenly enthusiastic about laying his hands off of your married coworker, "i'll treat ya', it'll be worth your time, i promise."

you chuckle, raising a brow at him, "you know we close at midnight, right? and you're on open tomorrow morning."

"ah, that's fine. i can be late. i'm opening with the boss' wife anyway." he states, waving his hand like it was nothing, "she'll get the message."

you couldn't believe he was discussing skipping work with you. but you only smile and respond, "you want to go out to dinner with me that much?"

he shrugs his shoulders, playing with the chain bracelet around his wrist. "i've always liked you, but you just didn't seem like the type to mix business and pleasure." he informed you.

that made you knit your brows, smile growing on your face. you cross your arms, tilting your head. "oh? are you supposed to be pleasure?"

his jaw drops a bit st your tone, and he places a hand against the wall to face you. "what? why're you laughing?" he chuckles along with you, "i'll show you, i'm a fuckin' treat to have around."

when your laughing ceases, karube gets a good look of you. eyes and smile softening, shoulders relaxing. you hands brace themselves against the bench behind you as you stand up straight again. you were cute when you weren't judging him. and he rarely got to see this side of you.

"so is that a yes?" he questions, now hopeful after your reaction.

"i, uh... i'm... not that fun." you say, cleaning your hands. your heart was beating loudly in your ears, and you were suddenly brought back down to earth. uncertainty laced your words. "you can find another distraction, karube."

"but i want you." he says, shrugging his shoulders and slipping a cigarette between his lips, "i'm pretty fun. i know some good spots around the city. i don't think we've ever hung out outside of work." he pulls out his lighter, flicking it a few times. "what d'ya say?"

you let out a long sigh, throwing your head back for a moment before pushing yourself off the bench, "fine. i'll go on a date with you, in exchange for you to stop seeing my sister-in-law. god help me, why do i try to preserve their terrible marriage...?"

it's then that a group of customers come in and you move to serve them at the counter. as you pass karube, you pull the cigarette out of his mouth before he lights it, putting it in the trash. "not on the job, karube."

you take the orders of the group and begin to prepare them on the other side of the bar, karube smiling at your attitude. he grabs the necessary items and place them on the counter, bumping his hip with yours.

"i gotta' loosen you up, huh?" he whispers, leaning close to your ear as you try to concentrate on your work. he smiles at the quirk of your brow, showing how he got to you. his arm lays heavy on your shoulders the next second, making you spill some of the vodka. "i think we're gonna' be just fine, y/n."

you huff back, a small grin on your lips, "yeah, whatever you say."

Now dont get the type foul you. Arisu may do everything you ask him because he is so in love with you. He does not care if you are good or bad with him, whatever you give him he will take it.

However, as I said he will do everything for your love, and that includes killing whoever hurts you, bothers you or whoever he believes are getting too close to you.

Arisu may be the Yandere who plays a protector (obsessive) role in your life, he Will stay close to you, the only thing he cannot do is stay away. You may tell him to stop and to just let you in peace but he wont do it.

He sees you as his Angel and you must be protected.

However, as much as a protector he is, he will make you believe you need a protector and will do it using the worse methods possible.

♤ Chishiya: Insolating + manipulative

Chishiya Will use any method to prove to you how he is the only one you need. Will trash your name so your family and Friends start to get away from you.

Will fake to be you on social media so he can manipulate your Friends into hating you.

Work? Forget about it. He will ruin your resume so no one Will contact you, but thats fine. You can stay at home and play house wife while he works.

He wants you to relay only on him. Cry with him, laught with him, everything must be with him and just him.

♤ Tatta: submissive + manipulative

Did you really think Tatta Will just be your puppy and you his master? Yes Tatta Will let you do with him whatever you want and Will do whatever you ask him.

But he also does not want to be alone, so he will manipulate you with his innocense to keep you away from other people. That friend of yours who gets too close? Yeah he will play the victim card and make you feel bad so you will stop seeing them. He does not have a problem with your family (who loves him), its just....people in general who might get your interest.

♤ Banda Sunato: Eliminating + Manipulative

Forget about being subtle. Banda will kill your Friends, family, however its too close to you he Will make sure they never see the light of the day again.

And he will mock you and blame you because of it. Because you took his interes, because you are too pretty, because you are you.

His emotional manipulation Will go as far as show pics of your dead Friends and family, he then will hug you telling you how dumb you are and how you need someone to take care of you all the time and thats why he is here.

Is he an angel? No he is your personal devil who corrupts you in all the ways.

Forget about consexual sex or touch, the first time he took you by Force during the second night of your abduction, to mark you and make you see how weak you are. Will drug you on daily basis so he can have his way with you and touch you without you screaming at him.

Once you start to break down he will come as innocent and playfull so you start to trust him. You no longer try to scape, you obey the rules and you let him have sex with you whenever he wants.

♤ Karube: Manipulative

Karube wants you to himself but he also wants you to have a bit of life (maybe the less crazy of these).

Now the only people who he trust are Arisu and Chota, so he will kind of Force you to hang out with them. Forget about other male Friends, they are just bad and Karube will be sure to scare them off.

Karube will use alcohol on his favor to get you more careless, he will set you up with a drunk guy and when said drunk guy tries something Karube will appear and take care of it acting as your saviour.

While being drunk Karube Will use this time to get you on his lap, you will ask him what he is doing but he Will just say he is taking care of you. He will kiss you and if you resist then he will sweet talk his way on it.

You two may end together because Karube had sex with you while you were drunk and you cant remember if you gave your consent or not. Its not guilt what makes you end with him but how much he talks about being there for you all the time and how you alwyas had a crush on him (and thats true). Arisu and Chota Will also support Karube's words making you beliving them and ending with him.
