Ouvir seu nome saindo da boca da acompanhante dos tributos do Distrito 11 com certeza estava entre as piores sensações que ele já tinha sentido nessa vida — isso incluindo a vez na qual ele foi chicoteado em praça pública por ser pego comendo uma mísera espiga de milho escondido em horário de trabalho na colheita. Pode ouvir a voz fraca de sua mãe falando um não tão baixo que se ele não tivesse tão próximo a ela não teria ouvido; virou-se para dar um sorriso fraco direcionado a ela, como se dissesse “volto logo, mamãe, não se preocupe” e logo andando a passos lentos até o palco improvisado de onde os nomes dos tributos eram sorteados. Tentou manter a compostura na frente de todos, mas tinha certeza que o medo estava completamente visível e estampado em sua face para todos verem — a garota com quem fazia par parecia tão assustada quanto ele, apenas lhe direcionando um olhar que era um misto de simpatia e puro pânico. Mal pode ouvir o discurso sobre como os jogos eram importantes ou de como eles tinham grandes chances de ganhar, pois, no fundo, Kangin sabia que ele era um homem morto. Está decidido! Os tributos do Distrito 11 da 68ª edição dos Jogos Vorazes!

                                  Por ser de um dos distritos mais pobres e mais afastados da capital, Kangin e a garota-que-ele-não-sabia-o-nome, mas carinhosamente tinha apelidado de Foxie, pela aparência da outra lhe lembrar de uma raposa, foram um dos primeiros a embarcarem no trem que levaria os tributos até a capital; antes, a tripulação do mesmo era composta apenas do staff dos jogos e pelos tributos do Distrito 12, que conseguiam estar em uma situação pior do que eles. Acenou levemente para os dois, que pareciam estar atônicos em suas poltronas — os quatro sabiam que as chances que eles tinham de ganhar os jogos eram ínfimas, então não era pra menos que o sentimento de melancolia prevalecesse sobre qualquer outra emoção. Kangin escolheu uma das poltronas próximas à janela — queria ver seu Distrito pela última vez e também apreciar as paisagens de todos os outros distritos antes de, bem, de morrer. Conforme foram passando pelos Distritos, cada vez mais conseguia ver a diferença entre o seu lar e as outras partes de Panem; lugares muito bonitos, mas com pessoas igualmente chocadas e até mesmo aquelas que não conseguiam mais demonstrar qualquer emoção. Há tempos que os tributos escolhidos não tinham mais restrição máxima de idade, mas, mesmo assim, ver uma criança ser mandada para a morte assim como a garota do Distrito 5, por exemplo, era realmente muito revoltante.

                            Ao se aproximarem do Distrito 2, os olhos curiosos de Kangin passeavam pela paisagem industrial da cidade que claramente era muito mais rica e luxuosa do que qualquer coisa que ele já tivesse visto em vida antes. Uma vida em uma cidade assim não deve ser tão ruim, pensou, apoiando o cotovelo na janela do trem para enfim apoiar o rosto na palma da mão. Ouviu os murmúrios dos outros tributos no trem e a agitação inicial de mais pessoas entrando a bordo, e, por mais que não quisesse dar tanta atenção inicialmente, parecia que uma força magnética sobrenatural o fazia querer olhar — a garota tinha olhos muito redondos, do tipo que a deixava em um estado permanente de alerta e que incomodava depois de um tempo, como se ela soubesse algo sobre você que você quisesse esconder com todas as forças; mas o garoto, meu deus, ele tinha o olhar mais afiado que Seo já tinha visto em sua vida. Os olhares dos dois se encontraram por um segundo e já foi o suficiente para Kangin estremecer de medo e desviar o olhar. Definitivamente ficar longe dos carreiristas do Distrito 2, deixou os pensamentos lhe invadirem, balançando a cabeça em negação e escorregando na poltrona do trem, tentando ficar o mais invisível possível.

Leeteuk

"So.. Fighting for Today! " 

Leeteuk hears from the tone of her voice that there is something wrong, then turns towards her to understand what the problem is. Seeing her expression, the wrinkled forehead for concern, he approaches her and raises her from the couch, ties his arms around her hips. 

"What's going on?" 

"N-nothing.." 

"It's just a music video." 

He knew for days that that idea worried his s/o, but he didn't think up to that point. Being the leader of such a large group, he learned to immediately understand what is hiding behind looks and whispers. With sweetness, he touches her lips and whispers again not to worry, because no one will ever take her place. 

Kangin

He's on the set and the fact that his phone keeps ringing it annoys him a lot. He explained several times that it's only a music video, that there is nothing true and that she shouldn't worry. Her insistence begins to take away that little patience that has left him. With angry he throws his cell phone on the table, moving away and leaving the building to take a breath of air. He can't understand why she should have so little confidence in him. A hand on his shoulder makes him turn and mentions just a salute to his leader, who looks at him with a kind smile. 

"Try to understand her, she loves you and she's just afraid of losing you."

Those simple words are able to make him understand how she must feel at that moment, so as soon as he comes back he takes his phone starting to answer to her texts, trying in every way to reassure her.

Kyuhyun 

Being the maknae of the group has always allowed him to have won on anything and also in his relationships he manages, in some way, to put his s/o on the "wrong" side. Yet when he reads, by pure chance, the exchange of text between her and her friend feels a pang of pain in the stomach. Guilt, sheer guilt. He had liquidated his s/o's worries as if it were pure jealousy, teasing her as he used to do. Without realizing that it was something more, she was really scared to lose him Quickly he comes out of SM building and starts walking towards the shop where she works, fortunately, close to the building. As soon as he enters and her smile welcomes him, the guilt increases considerably. Without even greeting her approaching and ignoring a customer, who had recognized him, makes the turn of the counter and draws her in his arms by going to hide his face between her hair. 

"I'm a jerk, but I swear that I love you and no one will ever replace you;" 

"Wh-" 

"I love you, I love you." 

"I love you too, Kyuhyun." 

Yesung

"So you have to kiss her..?" 

"Yes, but you know it's all fake!" 

Yesung doesn't notice the subtle line that the lips of his girlfriend have just assumed, absorbed in her thoughts and above all her worries. She doesn't want him to shoot that video, she doesn't want anyone approaching the man she loves, but she doesn't want to be the classic jealous girl. She's so lost in her thoughts that when Yesung waving his hand over her face she doesn't notice it and he realizes that something is wrong. He gently caresses her forehead, moving some bangs, watching her with love and trying to figure out what she's worried about. He approaches and begins to leave little kisses on her cheek, then descending on her jawline and at that moment she awakens, looking him with a shocked look. 

"Do you care about the music video?" 

"I.." 

"You can talk to me, why are you always afraid to do it?" He whispers, moving a lock of her hair behind her ear. 

"Because I don’t' want to be a problem.." 

"You have never been a problem and you will never be." 

Donghae

His girlfriend's frowns gaze pierces his back for two hours now, making him oddly silent. Hyunkjae is trying to lighten the atmosphere, but he also feels the tension between them two. And he knows the reason, giggling because the person concerned still doesn't understand it. Donghae didn't think about the fact that filming a music video with an incredibly beautiful girl could be a problem for his s/o. But it's, and now she is sitting in a corner of the set that tries not to look at him badly. Her insecurities are eating her alive and even though she's always been open to talk about it, he doesn't seem to have figured it out yet. 

"Do you understand that she doesn't like this idea or are you too much in your world to get the point, my friend?" 

"What?" 

"Idiot.. You, music video, girl. " And finally, the comprehension strikes Donghae, which made a small bow to the director asks two minutes of pause, which are immediately granted. Running he sits next to her and hugs her, making her hide her face against his own chest. 

"You can also kiss me, so she'll understand that I'm not available" he murmurs with innocence, wanting only to reassure her. And it works, because soon after he receives an "idiot" as a response, making him smile like a happy child. 

Siwon 

He knows. He knows very well what worries her, but at that moment is too stressed to really think about it. After the fight of that morning, he didn't text and didn't call her, not because he didn't want but because he was too busy with the new music video and the upcoming comeback. 

"Your girlfriend really looks down, what's going on??" Siwon turns to the Maknae, which keeps the phone in his hands as he continues to slide his fingers on the screen. Frowning his forehead he approaches him, but Kyuhyun hides the phone against his chest shaking his head. 

"No, find out for yourself!" He makes a tongue and leaves him even more perplexed, so by taking his phone from his pocket, his eyes open wide in seeing the absence of texts or calls. It's not from her, not even when she's more upset. He immediately dials the number, who knows by heart, and when her voice reverberates in the phone a sense of tranquility invades him. 

"I'm taking you out to dinner tonight." 

"Why..?" 

"Because I know it's not your fault if you've fears.. I'm often scared when you have to work with your colleagues for endless hours. " Both sigh and at the same time whisper "I love you", finding themselves to smile more relaxed and happy than that very morning.

Super Junior's Hardship: Just because they are from a big company doesn't mean they had it easy.

This is just some of Super Junior’s Hardship This is like a semi-long history of SJ. Basically SJ has been through a WHOLE TON of shit in their careers. They started as a 12-member project group in 2005 by their label that intended to rotate out members. They originally included a Chinese member named Han Geng and didn’t include Kyuhyun who joined in 2006. They were actually just a collection of leftover trainees from the group that didn’t make it into the original 5-member lineup of DBSK/TVXQ.

SM decided against their original plans and the members were finalized. Against all odds, they started becoming popular in 2006 and in 2009 they released Sorry, Sorry, which among others is considered one of the most well-known KPOP songs. Unfortunately, at this point Han Geng had been having a very difficult time and sued their label for a variety of violations including (unfair contract length, poor profit distribution, not giving him a single day off in 2 years which led to severe illness, and poor handling of his visas-which meant he performed covering his face for a good while and poor individual promotion, etc.). His last appearance in an MV is the Sorry, Sorry Answer video. Another member, Kim Kibum went on hiatus in 2009 to focus on his acting career and never returned; his last MV was It’s You.

In between this period of time we have several other horrible things. In 2006, Donghae’s father succumbed to his battle with cancer-there is an emotional video somewhere on YT where he dedicates their first music show win to his dad. On their way home from the funeral, Heechul was in a car accident and he broke his leg in 5 places and had rods in it for about two years. It’s unfortunate but in some of their live performances you see that he can’t really run and there are some dance moves he just can’t complete from that injury.

In 2007, our poor maknae Kyuhyun was in a horrible car accident with Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, and Shindong. He was pretty much almost dead and in a coma, and the other three members were injured fairly badly as well (Leeteuk got over 100 stitches for glass in his back and eye, etc.). There is a whole long story about that incident as well and if you want to hear about it react to “Strong Heart Kyuhyun talks about accident” (just search it up and get the one with English subs).

Also in 2007, SM created a Mandarin subunit SJ-M with two other members-Henry (Canadian-Taiwanese) and Zhoumi (Chinese). Some fans were terrified that these two new members would ‘replace’ some of the original members (remember the original idea of SJ being a rotational project group?), so these ONLY13 fans protested and basically made Zhoumi and Henry’s lives a living hell (some still do). Fortunately, most ELFs (SJ fans) now consider them to be full members of the group (#Forever15) even though SM prevents them from performing anything except their solos and SJ-M activities at concerts.

In 2009, Kangin got a DUI and an assault charge (that one was later proven to be self-defense), so he became the first member to do his 2-year mandatory military service. In 2014, Leeteuk (the leader) had a pretty horrible thing happen. His father, who was struggling with depression and was under enormous financial burden to take care of his parents, Leeteuk’s grandparents, who both had dementia, killed the grandparents and himself in a murder-suicide.

And all of these awful things happened to them while they were under the stress of just regular idol activities like being overworked, having little sleep, trying to maintain their figures with dieting, and having various members do their military service, and constantly being scrutinized and criticized for being celebrities in the public eye.

Anyway, it’s a miracle that they are still around despite all of the challenge and are still producing and performing great music. They are considered one of the foremost groups in KPOP and are credited with leading the wave of K-pop style music into the western hemisphere.

It was almost 8 pm that night when Kangin saw the current time on his phone. He swallowed hard, asking himself where his date was. The restaurant wasn't going to close soon, but he was getting anxious.

Tonight it was his third date. He was awed at how much you had in common, and how much he actually showed his interest in you. For the first time in years, he felt something different; something that felt good on his soul, but also scared him. He was scared that you might turn him down someday.

More than ever, he was actually scared that you wouldn't show up after weeks of not seeing each other, because, honestly, it was too good to be true. And he understood that you were busy and his schedule wasn't the best either, but he tried everything on his hands to make things right.

You've been friends for a long time, but it was some months ago were you actually became closer. He remembered how you would start to open up to him, and how he did the same with you, finally finding someone who understands his feelings and thoughts without judging him. He was grateful for it and wanted to try more, it wasn't enough just being friends.

The waitress came to the table, and offered him another glass of water that he took immediately. With a small thank you and smile that vanished soon, he saw the lady leaving and he was all alone again.

Tapping his feat under the table, he breathed out one last time.

“Hi! I’m sorry, I had something at work,” you smiled.

He felt a rush of relief running throughout his body when he saw you, taking a seat in front of him with a wide, precious beam of yours that he adored so much.

Kangin chuckled and cleared his throat.

“Don’t worry, it’s okay.”

Truth is, that he was glad now that you showed up.

“Would you like to order now?” he inquired.

“Sure, thank you,” you mumbled with a warm smile. “How is it going?”

“Good, thanks for asking. How are you?”

“Fine, better now that I’m here.”

Kangin smiled at your words while checking the menu.

You felt relieved as well. His company was very much enjoyable and you liked him a lot, that he made you nervous even after going out a couple of times before. Finally you ordered, the meal was delightful and his company made everything better. The talk was nice, and even Kangin offered to pay that night since you paid the last time. You agreed anyway, hoping to go out another day soon.

Both of you walked out the restaurant. You put on your coat and walked on the pavement. It seemed that you already talked about everything by now, the silence was comfortable, but it felt like you had a lot to say still. Your home was nearby, so this wasn’t the first time Kangin joined you until you were there, safe.

Standing outside the door, you turned to see him one more time.

“Thank you for tonight,” you bit your lip. “I enjoyed a lot.”

“It’s nothing, really. I loved it too,” he smiled.

You took his hand all of a sudden, feeling the heat spreading on your cheeks. Taking a step forward to him. His eyes wandered on your beautiful face, trying to read what you were about to do.

“W-what are you-”

You closed the gap between you and him with a kiss. Kangin was shocked for a moment, but after a moment he gave in. With eyes shut, his hand slowly cupped your cheek, and then traveled to the back of your neck to make it deeper.

He broke the kiss, gasping for air.

"Would you like to come in?" you asked against his lips, his hand now drawing patterns on your coat.

"I really shouldn't..." he mumbled.

"I love you," you confessed. "You've been my friend for so long, but I really like you."

Kangin blinked before putting on a shy smile. His confident self always disappeared when he was with you.

"I love you too..."

"Then what's wrong?"

He stayed silent for a moment.

"I just have work tomorrow," he replied, slowly his palm went to your cheek, caressing sweetly your skin.

"Can I see you then?"

He smiled, and pressed his forehead against yours.

"Of course."

You beamed, and felt his lips giving a soft peck on your nose.

"Be my boyfriend. Please."

His words left you speechless, but inside you were aching to hear those words. And if he wasn't able to say it, hell you will say it.

"I am now."

Kangin's chuckle was heaven, so pure and sweet for your ears.

"I love you," he whispered, slowly walking away from your figure.

"Be safe."

He nodded and you saw him leaving the place after taking a cab. You let out a sigh, trying to calm your heartbeat, it felt so good to be with him. And it almost made you feel like a school boy again.

When you entered to your place, you took your phone out after leaving your shoes and your coat near the door. There was a new text from him.

Guess we're not going to have a fourth date...

You smiled at the screen, like if he was able to see you like this and send a message back.

Finding Cinderella | Series | Chapter Three

Title: Finding Cinderella

Pairings: Donghae x reader,(Primary) Heechul x reader (Secondary), Kyuhyun x reader (Secondary)

Author’s Note: I have been planning this story for a while but have been battling many writers’ blocks in doing so. This story will mainly focus on Donghae and the reader but will have branching stories between Heechul, Kyuhyun and two secondary OC characters.

Sidenote: Yes, this series will include Kangin and Sungmin. This was originally started back when the two of them were still active members and in my heart they will always be members so I will include them wherever I see fit.

As promised, Eunmi made a couple of calls and managed to get the pizza and chicken delivered to the company within the fifteen minute deadline. She even managed to get free drinks arranged with the order as service.

Carrying the boxes in her arms she headed to the office, the muffled laughter and complaints drawing louder and louder with every step closer she got. Why did she think it was a good idea to carry all at once on her own? It was heavier than expected. With both her hands filled she eventually kicked the door as means of knocking.

“Food!!” She could collectively heard being called from inside as they apparently had been waiting for her to arrive back.

A few seconds later the door opened, she had forgotten the opened from the inside out and as she was standing too close after kicking it, the force of the swinging door knocked into her and sent her stumbling backwards as she desperately tried to keep her balance and keep the food from falling on the floor.

Just as she had expected to lose her fight with gravity and with eyes pinched shut prepared herself to impact with the floor, she felt two strong hands grab onto her shoulders as her back collided with a warm surface.

“Are you okay?” A soothing voice rang through her ears as she finally opened her eyes and carefully glanced up at the person who caught her before she fell. Her eyes connected with his, glistening like stars, the deep brown coloring expressing warmth, kindness and a playful curiosity that stole her breath away. The scent of his cologne was sweet against her senses as the warmth from his body radiated onto her.

“A-ah… Yes...” Her words trailed off as she quickly dropped her gaze down to his hand still firmly placed on her shoulder, casually guiding her back to balance on her own feet as she was still holding onto the food.

“Hmm… Smells good...” His words seemed to dance on his lips as his voice reached her ears once again.

She felt her cheeks flushing in the brightest color of embarrassment she had ever felt, her eyes once again glancing up to meet his. “G-good?”

His one hand let go of her shoulder, leaving behind the feeling of emptiness and cold on spot it was once placed as he pointed at the boxes in her hands. “The food. It smells good, and I’m starving!”

“Ah! Park-ssi! I’m sorry,” their manager immediately apologized as he realized what had happened, taking the boxes of food out of her hands. “I must not have been paying attention, are you alright?”

“I-I...” She cleared her throat as she tried to regain her composure. “Yes! No! It was my fault, I forgot which way the door opened and stood too close. I’m sorry!”

“Thanks for the food!” Patting her shoulder, Donghae flashed her a smile so sweet it would melt even the most frozen heart as he passed her and re-entered the room, stealing one of the take-out boxes out of his manager’s hands.

“Is… Uh… Is there anything else I can help you with?” She wondered softly, her eyes following the man’s movements from the moment he passed her. She caught a glimpse of several other members seated inside, all of them huddled around several screens as a video of a girl dressed in all blue played before them. So they weren’t kidding when they said the artists would review every video sent in, she couldn’t help but feel sorry as she could imagine the things that they had to endure.

“No, that will be all.” The manager nodded in gratitude as he turned around and headed back into the room, his head tilting back one more time. “Ah, Park-ssi, are you feeling well? Your cheeks look a bit flushed…”

“Alright, make sure to get enough rest though,” he nodded, the door slowly closing behind him. Quickly her eyes darted back up inside, trying to catch one last glimpse of Donghae before it shut.

A long, deep sigh roared through her body and escaped her lips as her right arm slowly moved up towards her left shoulder, brushing away the lingering feeling of warmth his touch had left behind. Her cheeks still felt as if they were burning up with a fever. “Aish… Get a hold of yourself...” She huffed to herself as she patted her cheeks several times. “Maybe I am getting a cold...”

Bzzt bzzt bzzt bzzt

Her eyes kept a tight stare towards the door as her hand instinctively reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone, slowly glancing down to read the message.

FREEDOM!!! We must celebrate!! Drinks on me!!

An amused grin played with her lips as she read the text, she could practically hear her friend’s voice in her head accompanying the words. She knew the university was preparing for the end of the semester exams, which increased the student’s work- and study load considerably, and Miya’s case must not have been any different.

Glancing at the time, she only had 10 more minutes until the end of her shift. And so far it didn’t seem like she had to work overtime today. Normally a person would feel glad if they were able to go home on a reasonable time, but that was not her case. Going home at a reasonable time meant going back to a place she no longer called home, back to the house where her stepmother and stepsiblings were after an entire day of wasting time and money. Going home at a reasonable time meant facing said stepfamily as they held their hands for money to waste on luxury food and other unnecessary things.

And she would give it to them, because in the end they were family. Because she had promised her father to treat them like blood-relatives, to take care of them in his stead.

After such a long and tiring day, she could definitely use some drinks, fun company and most importantly distraction.

After sliding her phone back into her pocket, her eyes couldn’t help but wander back to the closed door one last time, shaking her head to get rid of the feeling that was still plaguing her mind as she turned around and headed on her way.
