Here's the fluff I spun a wheel and it picked Danganronpa V3 and Demon Slayer characters so..... Here you go make sure you enjoy.
Tumblr media
Characters: (Demon Slayer) Obanai, Mitsuri, Shinobu, Giyuu, Sanemi (Danganronpa V3) Kaede, Shuichi, Korekiyo, Kaito, Kokichi and Maki
Fandoms: Danganronpa V3 and Demon Slayer
Title: sleeping at night with these characters
Tumblr media
Demon Slayer:
Obanai:
Man is a silent sleeper prove me wrong
He is also extremely still so you'd prob think he is dead sometimes
He gets cold easily so in summer it would be fucking perfect but in winter...
He might cling to you in his sleep but that's a small chance of happening
I'm sorry but mans would move away from you and push you in his sleep
Overall 5.5/10 could be better but still very nice to sleep with
Mituri:
My baby
She snores a lil bit tbh but cutely somehow
Will cuddle you in your sleep no debate
Might accidentally punch and kick you in your sleep
If you're bigger/taller than her she will sleep on top of you
If you're smaller/shorter than her she will little spoon you, you have no say
10/10 would recommend if you love physical contact
Shinobu:
I personally she would be a fucking menace.
Prolly can't sleep so messes with you defo
She is a light sleep so don't move too much or she finna get annoyed with you
But if you ignore all of the she's actually a pretty good person to sleep with
Prolly snuggles up to you
But if you sweat in your sleep leave her the fuck alone she hates the moisture
She is smol so she likes being little spooned, but when she wants to feel confident big spoons you
She's a peaceful sleeper when she can finally sleep
A solid 4.5/10 would recommend if you're a deep sleeper if not I totally don't recommend
Giyuu:
Doesn't sleep
...
But when he does end up sleeping like a log
Cuddles you and blushes like a mess when you tell him about it in the morning
Likes to be little spooned simple
Doesn't really like heavy blankets so your just gonna have to suffice
He is cold.
So he loves you're warmth whether in the summer or winter
Prolly cling asf
8.5/10 would recommend
Sanemi:
how do I say this...
Don't sleep with him please he is an absolute menace
A kicker and a puncher no debate
A heavy and light sleeper so he'd switch between the both
He will take your blankets even if you get your own
Pushes you if try to get close while he's light sleeping
But he would wrap his arms and legs around you
Protective so holds you closely and tightly
Won't let you live
Danganronpa V3:
Kaede:
Baby I love her btw
Amazing cuddler
Comfortable body heat
Prolly switches between a light and heavy sleeper through the night
Holds you
Rests her head on your shoulder
10/10 sleep with her, amazing experience
Shuichi:
My love, the reason I wake up
Hugs you, holds you, clings to you. Physical touch is just a must for him
He will not let you go while sleeping
Gets cold easily so you're a liability for him to keep warm
Little spoon frfr
10000/10 Soooooo recommend
Korekiyo:
I love this man like pleasss fuck me with your fingers
Ahem anyways
He is a gentle cuddler
Slight cold body temp
I personally love thinking that he would play with your hair
Sweet nothings while you're falling asleep
Sleeps late so he might coddle you while kissing the crown of your head
10/0 would recommend
Kaito:
Chaotic sleeper ™
Blanket hog
Sleeps right on you despite his weight
Snores
Squeezes you tightly
Big spoon
Sleep-kicker
7.5/10 though he's annoying sometimes he's a great cuddle-bug
Kokichi:
He doesn't like sleeping periodt
So he would be a fucking nuisance
Pokes your face while you sleep
Kicks you purposely
Takes your blankets
Why does he do this? Because he's kinda lonely being awake alone
So you have to mom him
When he gets to sleep he is a cuddle bug
You wanna go get water you have to bring Kokichi with
You wanna pee Kokichi's tagging along
2/10 annoying asf
Maki:
Doesn't sleep
Has trained herself to not sleep
But understands sleep is important
So what's the next best thing for her? She cuddle with you
Very nice body temp she adapts to winter and summer
Your thirsty? She gets you water
You need to pee? She accompanies you
Basically very comforting even if she rarely sleeps
7.5/10 would recommend
Tumblr media
Sorry for not getting this one I live in South Africa so I didn't have lights but I'll get the smut one out as soon as possible. Love you guys

Bro Rei's parents would be having a bad time. Let's see. First not only did Enji 'trick' them by hiding his mutation quirked aspects, all of the possible children are in relationships with those of the same gender, one even having multiple partners, two of them are dating mutation quirked people, and Natsuo, who in their eyes, is the best possible candidate to influence (manipulate) literally laughed in their faces when they asked if he had any plans for a wife in the future. Their plans really went down in flames.
Oh Rei's parents are SO mad about so many things.
For a long time they don't even know about the Mutation Aspect. Though Enji publicly has no issue with Mutation Quirks, he doesn't really talk about his own experiences (Though he's faced some discrimination from people who knew/people who saw him with his dad, his mutations are so minor that it barely counts and he can pass as he doesn't have them so it feels weird to discuss when compared to someone like Kaito who is very obviously a Mutation-Type)
So I have bits and pieces of things written in Road to Hell and like. They kinda throw Rei at him without thought for what kind of person he is because of the Status he has. He's the #2 Hero. Only way he could be 'better' is if he's All Might. And also Rei was 'ruining her chances' by exerting what little agency she had and 'scaring off potential suitors'. So they also do something silly like letting Enji and Rei live together before the wedding.
Then the wedding is a 'red flag' to them because the best man is a Mutation Type.
Then they disappear for like a year and Rei's fine with that because she kinda wants to cut them off because she's realized they're kinda toxic but hesitates out of 'they're still my parents' and also while Enji is a lot better in comparison and encouraging to her, she's also still working on believing that.
Then they show up a little bit after Toya is born. They show up completely unannounced btw Enji is off at work and Rei is home alone with a two-month-old. And this is the next 'red flag ' as far as they're concerned because why is Rei actually like. Doing things? Why is she taking care of the child directly instead of handing him over to a rotating list of nannies and going on vacation? They're not poor why is he making her do things?!
After this Rei and Enji make a more active decision to cut them off. (Rei is hesitant because 'they're your parents!', Enji doesn't want to force her, but both agree that they don't want them influencing the children).
At this point, they're upset because to them? Enji is backing out of the 'Deal'. They gave him Rei, and now he's supposed to give them public and financial support like a good son-in-law should! That was the whole point of this! The entire reason Rei exists was to be part of a Deal to further the Family's interests! How dare he back out?!
But one can be patient. After all, you can still get something out of the children. You just.... need to get them away. So they need to wait until the kids are old enough to be able to get away from Enji to listen.
Toya is option one. Though they hesitate because he wants to be a Hero and thanks to Enji they know Heroes can be a bit too stubborn. Doesn't stop them from trying. From sending a letter all 'sympathetic' and 'oh we're just loviing grandparents who want to meet our grnadkid that was kept from us!'. Toya 'dies' before they get too far. When he comes back, he has those nasty little additions. But with the reveal that someone like AfO exists, well. How dare that villain 'infect' their precious grandbaby with a Mutation?
Fuyumi is the next target. They find it silly how she thinks she can have a 'career'! That's not what a woman does! Women are eiher houswives or trophy wives, depending on your socieoeconomic class! No woman works because she wants to! Just because she's only found failures of men who can't take care of her! They try to contact Fuyumi but she ignores them. She may not know the whole thing, but she believes Enji and Rei are good people so if they cut off contact it's for good reason.
Natsuo is a bit more easy to convince. Due to the bad shit happening and miscommunications, he could totally believe that the grandparents he has no info about are decent people, but Enji was just a controlling bastard that he kept Rei and the kids away from them. He'd figure out eventually that they're not, but that'll be later down the line.
Thankfully Shoto fully dodges a chunk of this because by the time he's a legal adult, the family has had several conversations clearing things up so he Knows Better™ when a letter comes for him.
Swinging back to Rei: Her family is one of the many reasons she and Enji stay married instead of getting a divorce. Given her mental health issues, it'd be easy for her parents to get her deemed mentally unfit to take care of herself and in need of a caretaker. All custody of her and power of attorney and all that could easily go to them as her parents. But being legally married to Enji, even if Rei is deemed unfit to take care of herself, all power would go to her husband by default instead. And even at their worst, Rei trusts Enji more than she trusts her parents.

GUYS I FOUND AN OLD SHUICHI AND KAITO ONESHOT IN MY ANCIENT WATTPAD ACCOUNT’S DRAFTS‼️
It’s very out of context since it’s from my old Animal Motive au that I’m currently rewriting, but I read it and thought it was pretty entertaining. so here u go🤓 ( btw Shuichi is a bilby in this )
Jdxjdjddjd this scenario popped into my head and I wanted to write it down cuz I like it lol.
So the book is up there?" Kaito gazed up at the top shelf. From where they stood it seemed to stretch up all the way to the sky. Monokuma just had to place it in the least convenient place didn't he?(shuichi shows frustration with action) The tip of Kaito's tail stirred near Shuichi's ears, gently brushing them occasionally. It flicked to and fro like a fly trapped in a jar. The tiny detective wondered if his friend was having second thoughts on agreeing to go up there. Last time Shuichi used the ladder it didn't seem too sturdy and he worried if it would be able to withstand Kaito's new weight.
"You don't need to go up there of course!" Shuichi assured, hopping forward to be in line with Kaito's forepaws. Though he abruptly stopped as his friend’s huge paws stomped dangerously close to his whiskers. Kaito was taking several steps back, excitedly kneading the ground in preparation as he did so. Shuichi quickly gave his friend space, not wanting the claws to accidentally tear his nose off. "Nah, watch this!"
Before the smaller boy could protest, Kaito leapt into the air. Shuichi’s heart jumped as the claws made a terrible noise against the old splintered floor, and spewed wood chips in his face. It didn't hurt, but it was enough too startle a pathetic hiss out of him. He bristled, backing up in a craze. Kaito looked down over his shoulder from where he was perched on the ladder, "You good down there man?" Shuichi quickly froze, fur burning up in embarrassment. He completely over reacted because of some small wood chips.
After a few heart beats he managed to flatten his poofed up fur and snapped his head up, "Ah yes!" He called, shuffling closer to the ladder in an attempt to play his panicked fumbling off. "Just- be careful!" Kaito laughed in reply but Shuichi noted that it sounded tauter than his usual ones. The ladder creaked silently and Kaito's voice rang out from higher up, "Don't worry about me Shuichi, I got this!" And without saying anything more, he continued on. Shuichi's stomach lurched at the wood's groan, as if a dozen of bees were trapped inside of the ladder step. But to Shuichi’s relief, the ladder stayed intact and allowed his best friend to continue hauling himself up the steps.
Shuichi spectated below, silently urging Kaito on more and more as the time lengthened. He felt his fur itching as the possibility of him falling buzzed in his head. Exasperation strangled his lungs, and he wanted nothing more than to call the whole plan off and have Kaito climb down safely to him. But as much as the words banged inside his throat he kept his mouth shut, this book was way too important and they had to risk it. ‘Still..’ He thought, ‘I wish there was a safer alternative.’
"I goh ih!"
Kaito's muffled mew of triumph sliced satisfyingly through Shuichi's train of thought. From the sound of it, he had the book securely between his jaws. Shuichi's ears perked up with his spirits, "Great!" He opened his mouth to say more but the loud agonizing SNAP of the ladder cut him off. Next thing they both knew was that Kaito was plummeting to the ground with a muffled yowl of surprise following him on the way down. Without a second thought, Shuichi darted away just before a loud thump replaced him.
"Kaito!" He quickly turned and scurried to his friends side. Shuichi gaped in horror at the frozen lump, and for a few terrible heart beats he wondered if Kaito was dead, but he was thankfully disproven by a disgruntled groan. Shuichi sighed, feeling his heart untwist itself from the fright, before giving Kaito room to stiffly get up and roughly shake out his fur. "You're not badly hurt are you?" The former fretted, stepping closer as he testing the air for any hint of blood. A tail reached out and nudged Shuichi’s snout away to stop his scared sniffing.
"Come on, man," Kaito said, voice muffled once more but it was due to the anxious licking of his own chest. Shuichi's whiskers twitched with amusement when he realized that Kaito was trying to act cool. "It'll take way more than that to stop me!" The detective’s muscles loosened as the rest of his worry flowed out of him, his friend remained as proud and stubborn as ever, he had no reason to worry.
"Right" Shuichi chuckled under his breath, turning his nose to the blue shape lying next to his friend's paws. He gently hopped forward until his nosed grazed the hard worn out cover. He placed a paw on it, feeling the engraved phoenix symbol among the multiple cracks in the old leather. He wondered how many years this book had been here. When was it put in this library? Who had inhabited this run down school before them? Why were they even here to begin with.? ‘Stop’ he scolded himself internally ‘one mystery at a time, or you'll overwhelm yourself again.’ Shuichi hastily shook the thoughts from his head, deciding there was no point in worrying about things bigger than him. Right now they had a good start with this book, ‘focus on that instead.’ he took his paw off the dusty book and smiled up at Kaito expectantly.
Several silent seconds passed by. Shuichi shifted his paws awkwardly, beginning to worry if he had done something wrong, he twitched his ears anxiously as he waited a few moments longer.
"What happened?" Kaito suddenly asked, bending down to sniff at the book questioningly only to recoil back as if it bit him, "man, that's one dusty book," he exclaimed with a congested voice due to him batting at his nose to clear the dust. Shuichi was a Little surprised that he himself hadn't been bothered by the dust, but then he remembered that he was a burrowing animal. His nose could probably withstand more dirt than the other's. "This isn't the wrong book, is it?" Kaito twined once he stopped pestering his nose. Shuichi shook his head, the symbol was there so it had to be the right one.
"then why are you staring at me instead of reading it?" Annoyance pooled at edge of his mew, the same way it always did when Kaito started to loose his patience. Shuichi could already hear the familiar swishing of the lion’s tail as it swatted the air in mild irritation. The words took a few seconds to process. What did he mean? What else was he expected to do? Read it himself? Then realization struck Shuichi like an adder.
Instantly his pelt went aflame with humiliation and he grew more than thankful for the fur covering his face. He had spent the last few minutes staring at Kaito like and idiot. He instantly turned his head towards the closed book, hoping to find some sort of comfort in its lack of color. Why did he expect Kaito to understand? His mind began to race as he fumbled to form some sort of response to his friend's rather simple question. It didn't help that Kaito’s gaze seemed to pierce into the back of his skull. The atmosphere grew heavier, his pelt grew stuffier and his heartbeat quickened until it felt like bursting. He couldn't bear the tension anymore so he forced whatever words he could form out his mouth, "Ah, I.. uh- I can't read..."
Silence.
"What do you mean you can't read?" Kaito asked, sounding as if he were just told that the sky was green. ‘No! You couldn't have worded that any more wrong!’ He inwardly hissed at himself, dumbfounded by how stupid his answer was. But Shuichi's moment of self- depreciation was short lived because the atmosphere promptly weighed down on him once more. It pressed down on his back like he was trying to shoulder a boulder. He snapped his head up at Kaito and opened his mouth in a desperate attempt to fix a situation that didn't really need fixing in the first place. The words came out spaced out and slow as he thought of how to explain himself.
And that’s it-💀 I cut off right there for some reason and I don’t think I’ll write more about this specific variation of the AU since I pretty much abandoned it, but I rlly love Bilby shuichi.. so, maybe,,, i can finish baking this one shot if y’all want *wink wink* Also writing tips and constructive criticism are more then welcome!
Oh yeah Bilbys are basically blind and that’s the whole gig of this fic lol. Shuichi just straight up forgot to tell Kaito abt that and expected him to know… stupid. He’s so stupid.
Have a good daybye! ( thx for reading!<33 )

Hi!
I’ve been following the story for a while but more as a lurker (sorry) and just started checking out your tumblr and other projects (very cool art btw!!)
But I was just kind of curious—if you don’t mind me asking, how do you figure out how long a chapter should be? Do you sort of feel it out or is it about getting a certain part of the story in one section? I dabble in writing but can never figure out chapter lengths, and thought you might have a method when I saw you mention how long 20 was specifically.
Take your time with the chapter, I’ll be waiting patiently! Happy new year and hope life starts going more smoothly haha
Hiya! So nice to hear from you -- and thank you for checking out my art! I'm so glad you like it! :D
So, when it comes to deciding the length of a chapter, I like each one to have its own mini-narrative because that ensures that each chapter is satisfying on its own. I'm gonna use a few examples from Amalgamate, so I'll put them under the cut to avoid spoiling anything for anyone who isn't caught up :)
So, chapter 6 is probably a good example of what I'm talking about. The crux of chapter 6 is: "oh no, there's no antidote, what do we do?" That means the chapter can't reach a satisfying conclusion until we do find the antidote and Maki commits multiple crimes against the Geneva Conventions to make Kokichi drink it. After she does that, however, there's still a major story beat that's not resolved, which is "Kokichi drank the antidote, but is he actually gonna wake up?" The unresolved conclusion to the chapter 6 narrative is what'll make readers want to read chapter 7.
And then chapter 7 follows a similar pattern. The goal is: Kaito needs to tell everyone the entire hangar/Exisal story before Kokichi wakes up. So, Kaito tells the entire story, but the chapter still ends with the question of whether or not Kokichi's actually waking up. The main goal was accomplished in chapter 7, but it still opened up a new path for the narrative of chapter 8.
The mini narratives don't have to be blatantly obvious either, since that runs the risk of making all the chapters seem formulaic. I think chapter 13's a good example. My goal for the chapter was the same as Kokichi's: make a Searchlight speedrun happen. But new readers (and poor Kaito, bless his heart) don't know Kokichi's goal until he finally forces it to happen in the final third of the chapter. Regardless, the chapter's battle plan for me was: set up that Kokichi has a plan (which is secretly the speedrun), trigger the plan (which is to do the speedrun), and set up the next narrative (which is, "what in the world did the speedrun actually do to Kokichi and why is he suddenly acting like a wannabe discount Mikan post-DR2 trial 3?").
But when it comes to the length of chapter 20, I'll admit I didn't actually reach my goal XD Thankfully, that ended up not being a bad thing, though. I went into the chapter with a certain stopping point in mind, but every scene in the chapter ended up requiring so much more time than I expected, and about halfway through, I realized reaching my original goal would make chapter 20 the length of "War and Peace." But there was still a mini goal I could reach on the way, and when I got there, it ended up feeling just as satisfying as the original ending because it still sets up an "okay, and" for the next chapter. Or, at least, I hope it'll feel that way! I guess we'll find out soon ;;;;;
Sorry, I'm rambling way too much here! I get a bit too excited when it comes to writing, so I hope that accidental essay was actually helpful XD Feel free to ask me questions anytime, though! I really do love talking about writing :)

🌙Welcome to Reaper rambles, a "show" where I just ramble for fun because why not. Today's episode is about video games I've played recently and enjoy.🌙
1 - Momotype.
Momotype is a free horror visual novel on Steam about adopting a cute little Momo. You become a parent to an adorable little creature(?) Who only lives for 7 days. Be warned tho, it hides some dark secrets.
The Steam page calls it
"An experimental, horror visual novel about raising a virtual pet."
And boy, it sure is a horror visual novel. Im terrified but gods i love my son(s?) Momo. Someone get me a plushie of Momo please.
2 - Spiritfarer.
A cute yet emotional game about letting go.
You are probably gonna cry lets just be honest here.
I dont got much else to say cuz im still not over letting Stanley go.
(Btw if u have a netflix subscription u can play Spiritfarer for kinda free through their game stuff)
3 - Persona 5 (Og, Royal, and Strikers).
Gods i love Persona 5, so much so that im buying Royal again but for my switch.
I cant say much to Royal as i havent played it myself yet as ive been 100% completing the og Persona 5, but from all the videos ive seen it is just as great as the og if not a bit better.
As for Strikers, i was not planning to play it but a mix up with trying to buy Royal for the switch lend me to play it. And i regret nothing, it builds off the og story is a way that is satisfying, atleast to me.
And gods i love the way the fighting is amazing. Its like Hyrule Warriors but with a story i actually care about (im joking, but also i do care a bit more about P5S' story more then Hyrule Warriors')
ALSO I adore Alice's design and stuff, like damn.
And finally,
4 - Project Sekai/Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage.
The only rhythm game im good at. Im actually serious this is the only one im good at cuz of how i can customize my speed and stuff.
All the characters are great, Nightcord at 25:00 and Wonderland×Showtime are my favorite groups but i love them all almost equally (sorry More More Jump, i love yalls songs but i just dont like idol groups)
In this household we love and appreciate KAITO. We need Niigo (Nightcord at 25:00) KAITO like yesterday, oh and Len my boi we need him too.
Also we need some mixed unit song covers, outside of the anniversary songs. Like gimme Childish War with Akito and Ena.
🌙That wraps up our show for today, come back [LATER] to listen to me ramble about [TOPICS]. No promises that it'll make sense or be readable next time, i cant be """professional""" for longer then a few minutes🌙

Also in remnant v3 au: would Kaede be a remnant too, a Chiaki analogue or just escaped to the FF?
Oh Kaede is gonna be a remnant for sure, she’s one of my all time favourite danganrompa characters (tied for third place with Tsumugi with Mikan as first and Kazuichi in second) so I don’t intend to just kill her off lol.
As generic as it is she likely fills Ibuki's role of performing concerts to corrupt mass amounts of people to despair.
My friend and I were joking that she should drop pianos on people's heads in a very Loony Toons fashion to kill them, and uh yeah lol we’re going with that because I’m hilarious. Imagine just going about your business in the post tragedy world and suddenly just an entire grand piano hits you in the head. Comedy gold.
(Also like, there probably wouldn’t be that many pianos just laying around during the despair era since it’s kinda the apocalypse so Kaede would definitely get despair from destroying them by using them to bonk people to death)
Aside from that, I think her largest source of despair would come from the other remnants. By the time she realized what Junko was doing with her classmates it was too late, and they were all too far gone for her to help them, even Suichi. So whenever she sees them out and about doing all the despair stuff it’s like haha that’s her fault. (It’s not really of course, it’s Junko’s fault, but critical thinking skills aren’t really the remnants strong suit lol)
I think similarly to Kaito she’d keep her usual personality, and still be very upbeat and supportive, it’s just she’s supporting them to do even more evil lol. Those two cheer on the others and make sure they’re being the best, worst, most evilest Despairs they can be!
Tumblr media
Why yes, her outfit is comprised of different bits and pieces of the Evil Queens dresses in Once Upon A Time! It had the right vibes and every once and a while I have to do something that would make middle school era me happy lol. That being said I knew I wanted her to have some kinda necklace/choker thing on her throat (bc hee hoo execution references in designs for brrr) and the music note motif from her skirt can be found on her hair tie and bracelet.

LEN START OF RELATIONSHIP HC!
Tumblr media
Len is more of a "plan all dates ahead guy" than a spontaneous guy lol. He puts so much effort into your dates, but I hc him as being a little clumsy and forgetful, so most of the time the dates don't end up based on his imagination.
One day he planned a picnic (which happens often btw) he bought so much food, even asked Rin to help him bake. But he forgot to check the weather and so when you sat together and he even gave you a dandelion crown he made, it started raining. And y'all had to hide under a tree. All the food was ruined too :(
Things like this happen all the time, and tbh he feels very guilty about this. It's one of his biggest insecurities too, so please don't be mean to him when another date gets ruined. Hug him and say some words of affirmation, it will make him fall for you even harder!
About dates, Len tends to carry a small diary, when he finds a nice park or finds out some kind of festival is about to happen, he always writes it down to not forget it.
Len is also very inexperienced in relationship stuff, so he tends to ask Rin and Miku about lots of things and write them down.
He is very awkward about romantic things, one day y'all were in wonderland Sekai. Sitting on the grass and watching the clouds. When Len wanted to kiss you. But he was so nervous and didn't know what to do. And so he just stared at your lips for three minutes straight.
Until you got insecure thinking you had something on your cheek. He would apologize and run away with a red face probably.
Yes, expect Rin and Miku to tease you a lot. Like you and Len would be standing next to each other and Miku would "accidentally" bump into you, which would make you fall onto Len.
Rin would then randomly start asking her brother (yes I hc as siblings) about you, and if y'all been to date yet, etc. Maybe she would even go to Meiko and start speaking about Len's new s/o.
Meiko would join teasing you and Len and would start speaking about you whenever she could. So expect someone completely random like Saki or Toya randomly walk by and congratulate your relationship.
Luka would fangirl a lot.
Yes, one day Rin would jump around you with a piece of cloth, she would tie it around your eyes and would say that she has a surprise for you. Miku would then take your hand and lead you to wonderland Sekai.
Suddenly you would hear soft classical music and clapping. When Miku took the cloth off your face you could finally see what was happening.
Len is by your side nervously waiting with cloth around your eyes dressed in smoking. And Kaito standing in front of you with a random book.
Did Miku and Rin plan a wedding for you two?
Your face went even redder when Luka gave you some hand-picked flowers and a candy rings ↓
Tumblr media
So yes, dating Kagamine Len is just a mix of constant teasing, awkwardness, picnics, and fluffy moments!

Saimota is a fantastic ship that only improves with age and their respective maturity. Right from the get-go we see this in canon, too! They have a tumultuous first clash at the end of chapter 1 which is immediately turned on its head, and the subsequent growth and development of their in-game relationship really stands out that much more because of it.
This is a long one, so strap in!
Kaito realizes his mistake in his approach after punching him the night before and rectifies it immediately the next morning when he notices Shuichi hasn’t come to breakfast, rightly guessing that he’s stewing in his own grief and misery. And then, being the emotionally intelligent guy he is, he follows up that night and drags him out to exercise (which, y’know, releases endorphins and is scientifically proven to help with mood boosts and even depression) - a move which Shuichi says in chapter 5 saved his life.
A couple days pass and a body drops. Kaito supports him through the investigation knowing that Kaede had been with him last time and that there’s a danger of him relapsing. In the trial, too, Kaito makes every effort to let Shuichi know that he isn’t alone and someone does have his back if he fumbles. This is the real moment that Shuichi chooses to depend on Kaito and is rewarded for it, and while Kaito does get plenty of ego-feed out of it, he believes in Shuichi and his talent wholeheartedly (enough so that it’ll come back to bite him later). But despite it being framed as a ‘hero and sidekick’ relationship, it’s not just for Kaito’s self-worth - it’s to take some of the mental load off of Shuichi, who really, really doesn’t want the pressure of everyone’s lives solely on his shoulders, and is now dealing with the guilt of two cases where uncovering the guilty party hurt him.
(quick chapter 2 interlude! while this is where a lot of the big hero-worship begins for Shuichi and happens to be where I also did his first FTE and got to witness this:
Tumblr media
this is also the chapter when these moments happen, post-breakfast and post-casino scene respectively:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and this happens in the very next FTE:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
mmm yes, the duality of man. Suffice it to say, while Shuichi has definite rose-coloured glasses on for a lot of the game, Kaito is definitely not an invincible, untouchable hero in his eyes)
Interestingly enough, despite Shuichi still very much leaning into their friendship (and vice versa), they don’t spend a lot of time together in Chapter 3 after he brings Maki out to training that first night! While Chapter 4 is their real ‘break’, Kaito spends a lot of time in his room in the second half while Shuichi gets to know Maki better. And while Maki is a much, uh, meaner investigation partner (love you girl, but that tongue is sharp), they make a great team. Shuichi also starts poking at Kaito’s reason for holing up in his room, incorrectly guess that it’s just related to the occult being brought up. Most importantly, Shuichi is able to do an investigation on his own independent of Kaito just a week after the end of Chapter 1.
Chapter 4 and its immediate aftermath in 5 is great because it showcases Kaito’s flaws and insecurity, and what conflict between the two of them look like. It’s because Kaito respects Shuichi so much that cracks in his own confidence start appearing - and while Shuichi can be obtuse and awkward at times, he shows signs of wanting to broach some more sensitive topics with Kaito; if you do FTEs with Kaito in Ch 4, he even has an inner narrative in which he notes that Kaito had said his stomach hurt before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s not so self-absorbed as to not worry about his friend (but narratively we gotta save that juicy plot point and subsequent reveal for the end of the trial) but hey, Kaito wants to chill and just shoot the shit - so why not have some downtime with his friend in the murder school. Btw, their FTE availability ends here - so if Shuichi has completed them with Kaito, he’s already had his canon-saimota thoughts at this point. While I have given Shuichi the side-eye for his ‘I can rely on Kaito for anything’ spiel, he is fully able and willing to stand up to Kaito in the Chapter 4 trial despite his canon feelings for him at that point. By the way, it’s been a week and a half since the end of Chapter 1 at this point. Shuichi and Kaito have had an arc together where they become fast friends in a pressure-cooker situation and bonding over shared grief for Kaede (even if Kaito’s is less obvious), Shuichi starts as dependent on Kaito’s emotional support but learns to stand on his own two feet, and Kaito is forced to confront his own weakness and hero persona, all while classmates are dropping (including Kaito’s own ex-hero figure, a stark reminder that ‘heroes’ do have flaws).
So the beginning of Chapter 5 is wild to me because of how it’s so often misinterpreted as Kaito immaturely giving Shuichi the silent treatment despite the entirety of the game preceding it explicitly showing that Kaito will tell you, loudly, when he’s angry at you, and that’s purely because we’re in Shuichi’s perspective and he thinks that’s what’s going on - but that’s a bit of a tangent. What I like about it is how we get to see what happens when Kaito (as sick as he is at that point) feels badly and embarrassed with someone he is close to; he withdraws as opposed to lashing out. And while Shuichi is really, really bad at reaching out too without an inciting incident (tunnel escape), he does try and broach the topic when push comes to shove. He’s not lost in hero worship, not even close - he is rightfully upset that the person he’s closest to at the school is upset while still maintaining to himself and the others that his actions were correct. He doesn’t waver on this, despite his attempt to offer an olive branch at the window of the hangar’s bathroom. He truly stands by his own choices in the last class trial and know he won't back down on that if push comes to shove, and that's important - he won't yield the point just to appease Kaito. Shuichi then manages the investigation on his own, leads the trial on his own, faces off with Maki (and who he thinks is Kokichi) on his own, because he has *reached* a point where he can be independent. And to bring it back to how we get a look at ‘saimota in conflict’, Shuichi and Kaito both make amends with each other by the end of the chapter. Even if it’s spurred by it being their final goodbye, Shuichi gets to say his piece, Kaito lays out one of his own vulnerabilities so he can make peace with Shuichi - and even if I’d love to have had them delve into all of Kaito's various issues, there is a very murderous robobear overseeing this which makes time a factor - and I firmly believe that if they had more time, they could’ve resolved even more of the issues that would come up for Saimota. The groundwork wasn’t just there; there was already half the structure in place. And that’s what makes saimota even more appealing to me, tbh. We get to see them build a relationship, run into a big issue, struggle through it and resolve it by the end of the game - and it means that there’s precedent for them to do it again as more interpersonal challenges come up! It’s a goldmine of ship exploration, and they care about each other enough to work through it.
… By the way, at this point they are 2 weeks past the end of Chapter 1.
Imagine if they had more time. Imagine if Shuichi, who is absolutely dogged in pursuing an issue once he catches wind of it (despite how he can get wrapped up in his own head), who cares a lot for other people, who doesn’t just find runaways as part of his detective talent, but follows up with them after because he cares about more than just finishing the job, had the chance to spend years with Kaito and realize he uses his hero persona to protect a much more fragile sense of self. Imagine Shuichi forming that initial friendship with Kaito without the albatross of Kaede’s death hanging around his neck; about how he’ll still look up to Kaito and his fantastic positivity, passion and excellence in his chosen field, and that would only be matched by Kaito’s own admiration of Shuichi’s skills as a detective. Imagine if Kaito, who repeatedly shows the ability to reflect and change his mind when presented with evidence against his viewpoint and was able to express his own insecurity and jealousy to Shuichi in the end, was given the breathing room and space to get more comfortable with doing so. Imagine how difficult and emotionally mature they were to navigate as well as they did in a life-or-death situation that took place over a couple of weeks tops, and how much more they could grow if given the time and space for it.
... And this was nearly going to be where I ended the post, until Ira reminded me of TDP and sent me this wonderful Saimota event (which takes place before the final graduation/training trio event):
Tumblr media
Oh hey, Shuichi picked up his catchphrase! It's quite cute how he's finishing Kaito's sentence here - he's spent a couple of years being friends with Kaito at this point, and has even taken up exercising on his own for stress relief. I wonder whose influence that was?
Anyway -
Tumblr media
Shuichi has figured out at this point that he does need to firmly extend that helping hand to Kaito rather than worry and keep it to himself. On the other side, Kaito has learned that it is okay to accept that outstretched hand, even if he doesn't need it right now - that he can admit that some day, he might. He's being blase, sure, but it is a far cry from his in-game 'I don't/won't need help'. Good for you, Kaito - you've grown a lot! And that's the most important thing their TDPs show - their capacity for growth not just as individuals, but in a relationship. Of course there will be bumps along the way - it’s very rare that any relationship won’t have them! - but they've proven that they can work these problems in the worst of circumstances. This is by far one of the strongest ships with canon foundation in the entire series, and my goodness do I still love it years later.

KAITO BREEDING KINK WITH A C H U N K Y AFAB READER,JUST A SMIDGE OF PUDGE(Please I'm so self conscious)
Kaito Momota x Chubby AFAB!Reader
a/n: ...
*screaming internally cause I love me some Kaito and I FEEL you on the self-consciousness aw)*
warnings: well breeding obviously. also the slightly notion of the reader perceived as motherly. + mention of pictures taken without readers knowledge
• • •
You were never skinny, it always bothered you. Understanding that being chubby wasn’t bad, it still did. It made you feel ugly. There were days where you felt thag you couldn’t even look in the mirror. It was that bad. It sure as hell surprised you when your now boyfriend of a year had asked you out, Kaito Momota.
Regardless of his height being taller, you still felt bigger than him. Being vocal of your insecurities, he made sure to reassure you when he heard them. “God, no, baby,” he’d say to you,“You’re beautiful”. He’d smother you in kisses to reassure you. Still, you felt he was slightly repulsed by your physique.
The reality was quite the opposite.
He loved that about you.
There was something about having a bigger s/o, well, chubby s/o that drove him insane. It was just something that gave off a motherly feeling and what can he say? He loves milfs (canon btw). When he first saw you, he thought you were so cute. He dare not act sexually attracted to you, though. Once he did, you thought he was joking and then told him you were insecure about having sex.
So, nothing happened.
He isn’t completely innocent, though. Sure, he won’t express how sexually attracted to you he is in front of you, but it’s different behind closed doors. On your second date you worse a skirt, one exposing your thighs. That was all he thought about. Don’t get me started on beach day. You were dating for 8 months at that point, he waited for you to come out of the bathroom.
“I’m sure you look fine!”
“No! I look terrible!”
“Just come outtt. I’d like to actually spend my day with you”
“Okay, just—I’ll get out in a bit. You go set up”
Kaito had gone to set up your spot, laying down on a sheet he had laid out on the sand. “Hey, I’m here now”. He looked at you and felt his throat dry as you stood in a white and yellow polka dotted two-piece. “Can you hold me so people don’t see me as much”. He eagerly nodded, desperate to have his hands on you. As the day went by, he was able to sneak some photos of you. When he got home, he lay back in bed: cock in one hand and your photos in the other.
He craved you after that day.
Now, you were home and he came to visit. “Hey, baby,” he greeted you and kissed you. “Hiii”. You went straight to the room, cuddling in bed while a movie played on TV. Neither of you had seen it, but it’s not like you were really watching it either. You two were making out, so lost in each other. You decided it’d be best to try something new.
“Can I try something?”
“Sure, go ahead”
You straddled him, Kaito grunting when you landed. “Just let me know if I’m crushing you,” you warned. He nodded, but when you leaned down to kiss him, he nearly gasped, covering his mouth and part of his face. You, for the first time ever, were on his lap, and it wasn’t helping that you had a low cut blouse on.
So just, boobs in his face.
He was shuddering, so you assumed the worse. “I knew it, I’m too heavy,” you mumbled,“I’m sorry”. He grabbed your waist before you could, his hands were shaking. “Can I be honest with you?”. You nodded.
“You’re actually making me really hard right now”
“H-Huh?”
“I need to fuck you. I need to feel you over my cock. I-I want to breed you”
You were blushing. A lot. “Kaito, you shouldn’t say such things,” you whispered,“Especially when you don’t mean them—”. He knocked you over onto the bed, pulling off your shorts. He realized that you weren’t going to believe him unless he proved himself. He got between your legs, kissing your thighs. “K-Kaito,” you sighed, your heart racing as he got closer. He was having the time of his life. “You’re so warm and so soft,” he muttered, taking your panties off,“Your pussy, it’s so pretty...can we try something?”
“Uh, okay. What is it?”
“Can you sit on my face?”
“What?!”
“I’m begging you. Please, just sit on my fucking face”
You blushed. “I’ll crush you for sure!,” you told him, he still didn’t care. “Baby, please”. You eventually went with it. Its not that you didn’t want to, you just genuinely believed you’d hurt him. He lay down and you got into the position. “Is this okay?”
“Lower”
“Okay...How’s—ah!”
Before you could even process anything, Kaito was already lapping up your folds, eating you as if your pussy was the Last Supper. Your moans and soft whimpers fueled him to have less mercy on you. You then noticed the tent he was pitching in his jeans. Quickly, you bent over, undoing his button and zipper. You pulled his cock out, quickly putting your mouth over it. He groaned against your pussy, locking around your thighs. “Are you enjoying yourself, baby?,” he asked, placing kisses on your clit every now and then.
“Hah- Yes..”
“Get off now”
You did as you were told, laying down. He spread your legs and held them up. “I’m going to destroy that pretty pussy,” he whispered before slamming right into you. He groaned softly feeling how wet you were around him. This was just what he wanted, it was also just what you needed. His hips were good to you, just as he was good at reading you. Based on how noisy you were, that’s how he’d fuck you. He would try hitting different spots, finally finding the one that made your whines grow louder. “You like that, don’t you?,” he teased, holding your jaw.
“I-I...”
“Mmm, just ease into it, baby. God, you’re so pretty..”
“Kaito, I-”
“I love every inch of you. Fuck, it makes me so hard..Your body is just so hot. I’ve wanted to have it all for myself for so long. I needed it”
Your walls involuntarily clenched around him, he winced slightly as he felt himself closer to cumming. “S-Sorry,” you whined, but all he did was shush you. He kissed you, which helped shutting your apologetic self up and also tasting your kind lips. After feeling that he’s kissed you to your heart’s content, he grabbed your legs. Pushing them back, he thrust harder into you. “K-Kaito! Y-You’re gonna make me cum...,” you whined.
You were in ruins as you hit your first climax, but he wouldn’t be finished when he hit his. You felt his first load shoot inside you, flipping you on your stomach after. He thrust into you without warning, holding your waist. His fingers dug into your skin and his hands were cold. “You’re so soft,” he muttered. Kaito’s face was terribly flushed. His face was red and he knew he wouldn’t last long inside you, but he wanted to keep filling you. Your body was more than he had ever imagined. When he jerked off, he took his time. It usually took him about an hour and a few minutes to finish. Now that he was inside you, that time was going to be cut by half, if not, more.
You tried your best not to cum so quick. Especially, for a second time. Yet, you were already so sensitive and you couldn’t hold it in much longer. The feeling of Kaito grabbing your waist and slamming into your spot was too much. “K-Kaito?”.
“Yeah?”
“Can I cum?”
“You don’t needa ask me. Relax”
He held your hair, tugging it slightly. He was ramming into you at full force, his hips slapping against your ass. Your stomach immediately sank and you felt like you were falling. You were a mess of moans, your walls pulsating around his cock. He grunt, thrusting faster as his load shot into you. You came right after that, now his loads inside you enough to feel. You fell onto the bed, he joined you. He caressed your cheek. Panting, he asked,“C-Can you go for one more?”. You knew your body was going to be in a state of shock tomorrow, but you wanted him so bad. You nodded and he kissed you.
“I’ll take it slow, but I need you on top of me again. You’re gonna ride me now”
You almost moaned at his words and now extremely nervous. “O-Okay, lay down”. You got up and straddled him, positioning yourself above his cock. Slowly you lowered yourself, letting him penetrate you. His breath was sharp as he covered his face. He was in deep, using his last bit of strength to stop himself from immediately bucking his hips and fucking right up into you. “I-Is this okay?,” you asked him. It was more than okay to him. He nodded, now quieter than before. “I’m gonna move now, okay?”. He nodded once again. You slowly rolled your hips as he was inside you, stimulating yourself a little. He suddenly didn’t know where to put his hands, although he wanted them to be everywhere at once. Eventually, with one hand covering his mouth, the other grabbed your thigh. Now, you were ruining him. He was so shy and so quiet.
You’ve gotta admit: it was kinda cute.
You began to raise you hips, just a little, then dropping back onto his cock; earning a moan from him. He was resisting the urge to fuck you to the next day, but it was getting so hard to do so. Without saying a word, he pulled you torso down. Your tits in his face, he began to suck on your nipple as his free hand pinched and played with the other. You whined, riding him a little faster, grinding down a little when you landed. It felt even better since you were filled with his cum and awaiting another load.
Now, you wanted him to fuck you and you wanted him to fuck you hard. “K-Kaito, I need you to fuck me,” you whispered,“Make me yours, please. I need it to ache”. Without hesitation, he let his hips break and slam right up into you. He bounced you as he wrapped his arms around you almost in a hug. You felt buildup in your tear ducts as he kept hitting your sweetest of spots. It wasn’t fair, you thought. How he was able to make you feel so good.
That’s when you began to explore him. As he fucked you, you lowered yourself more to kiss him. You kissed his nose, focusing on his lips for a bit. You then brought your kisses lower. He loved when you kissed his neck, but that wasn’t his spot. You brought your kisses a little bit higher. As you did, his breath hitched and you knew you were getting closer. Finally, you reached his jaw. A snicker that broke into a sweet moan escaped your lips as you began kissing his jaw. He gasped, moaning softly. “Gotcha,” you whispered, bitting his ear lobe and kissing his jaw again. You felt him twitch inside you as you did and he kept fucking you harder and harder. Kaito was in pure bliss, knowing he wasn’t going to last much longer. He was going to make sure to warn you, whilst you didn’t say anything because you couldn’t control it.
“I’m gonna..”
“What is it?”
He didn’t even repeat himself, he just begged you to kiss him. His tongue entered your mouth, refusing to build up to that. His hands placed on your boobs, squeezing them as he came. You moaned, arching your back and collapsing on his chest. He wrapped his arms around you, kissing the top of your head and still inside you. “You’re so good,” he said between kisses,“You’re so fucking good”. He held you as you got up and lay next to him, all shaky. He parted your legs, spreading your pussy just to watch his cum spill out. You covered your face and turned around. He laughed and pulled you to him.
“You’re really hot”
“Really?”
“Yes, doll. I love you”
He threw a blanket over the two of you, cuddling nude. You were exhausted, nuzzling his chest. “You going to bed?”. You nodded, eyes closed. He chuckled. “I love you, Kaito...”. You just knocked out like that. “Alright, baby,” he whispered, kissing you,“Sleep tight”.

Chapter 57 Analysis
I’m alive!!! I apologize for taking so long to talk about this chapter. I had been struggling gathering enough energy to do this due to some mild health issues and honestly barely got through my CLAMPtober drawings (thank you SO much for all the support during all of that btw. You guys really helped keep me going). I had intended to even write fics and post one of them on Halloween too, but it turns out severe anemia is no fun at all and just throws a wrench in things. Lol. I’m recovering slowly and starting to feel a little more like myself, but I know it might take some time to fully get back to normal.
This chapter had very little Syaoran (much to my dismay), but was still fascinating and brought up a lot of interesting details that are definitely getting the theory gears turning for the fandom. There were some things that also very much amused me. Hehe.
Without further ado, let’s dig right in! See under the cut due to length and spoilers!
Tumblr media
As usual, I’ll start off talking about the beautiful color spread. We’ve had seen an image before of Momo, Kero, and Suppi in their disguise forms, but this is the first image we’ve had of all of them in their true forms!!! Momo looks absolutely stunning once again, and it just makes me want to draw her again. Lmao. I’ll take another crack at it at some point (preferably when thinking about drawing right now doesn’t make me feel exhausted just thinking about it).
The beginning of the actual chapter has a very familiar sight. We’ve all become used to CLAMP’s occasional storybook style storytelling, but another familiar sight is the design of ‘Alice’. We’ve seen this before in episode 55 of the original 90’s anime, “Sakura and Sakura From Wonderland”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s really nice to see this version of Alice continue on through Clear Card now, but the story told is very different from the typical Alice in Wonderland story. It tells the story of a girl named Alice who lived in a separate world. She was raised by a kind family and was kind herself, but she had the unique ability to have premonitory dreams. One might think that this is Akiho, but I feel this actually fits Sakura best in this circumstance. After all, Sakura, unlike Akiho (poor thing), grew up with a happy loving family and has the ability to dream about the future. I don’t want to discount any idea of any hidden abilities Akiho may have being the magical device that her clan turned her into, but she certainly wasn’t able to grow up with a kind family. I believe truly that Akiho’s parents loved her, but Akiho unfortunately never got to know them, so it’s hard to say how much they were able to influence her personality now when she was such a young age during their living years.
What comes next though is both fascinating and amusing. Alice finds a stray cat in one of her dreams and brings it home with her. The shape of the cat’s tail in particular seems to points towards this also being the ‘dragon’ we’ve seen in Sakura’s dreams and on the border of the backstory for Kaito (don’t think I missed those cats on the border of this story looking so similar to the dragons for Kaito’s backstory, CLAMP!!). It seems heavily implied that this cat is Kaito, which if that is the case, then… OMG YUNYA D KAITO IS ACTUALLY A THING?!!! LOL
You might recall me mentioning a while back in July how I was talking to @meimi-haneoka about how I felt Kaito was much like a cat in personality (which also resulted in me drawing two pieces of fanart with Kaito having cat ears), and now I’m starting to think CLAMP feels exactly the same. Hahahahaha.
Alice seems a bit distressed about what to do in this other world in her dreams, which is so different from her own, and she is guided by her cat. She was shown all sorts of things she had never seen before, but the detail in particular that stuck out to her the most was the bending of time (which definitely again points to Kaito).
Alice tries to look for a way back to her own world, and while doing so she meets “The Red Queen”. The bits of the story that CLAMP is willing to divulge at this point stops here, and it leaves me SO curious. It’s difficult for me to tell who has what role in this story, save for Kaito. Alice’s story fits Sakura best, but the part about the cat guiding Alice and showing her all sorts of new things also sounds like Akiho, so I find it difficult to tell who this is meant to be in CLAMP’s telling. Until we know more about the role of the ”Red Queen”, we’ll just have to speculate. I can also imagine Sakura as the Red Queen, considering we’ve already seen her in such an outfit in the second Clear Card opening. However, I honestly think it would be incredibly interesting to see Akiho in that role as well. I’m so excited to hear more of this story.
The chapter flashes back to real life, where even Sakura seems to feel that the Alice story very much matches what is going on with her presently. In fact, it’s so accurate that Kero and Suppi even begin to question if Naoko has some sort of special abilities. However, Suppi mentions that it’s possible for tremendously creative people to possess some sort of a sixth sense, and that they are able to sometimes show something from not just the past, but things that happened long ago and even events that have yet to occur through their works.
And can I just say that...like, something about this part just really resonated with me? Like, call me crazy, but I feel like this is actually incredibly true. I believe that super creative people are able to see the world and events in very unique ways much different than everyone else, so I think it’d make sense for them to inadvertently have a ‘sixth sense’. I honestly think that is something so super cool to think about, and I just love the way CLAMP introduces traits in ordinary people that are so incredible, they’re practically magic (like Tomoyo and her great observation skills). It’s almost like CLAMP is trying to tell us that we too carry our own sort of magic, even if magic itself isn’t real, and I’m just totally feeling it.
Sakura goes on to explain how Naoko described coming up with the idea. We of course knew already that Naoko thought of the two Alices when seeing Sakura and Akiho next to each other, but what ended up truly explaining Naoko’s writing was that Akiho had told her about her ‘Alice in Clockland’ book.  This really goes to show that although it’s a most definitely a special book to Akiho, she speaks about it to anyone who will listen like it is just any regular book. This further proves to me that she doesn’t truly understand what she actually has, but she knows it’s special nonetheless. That’s just something she feels in her heart.
To Akiho, it is a merely her favorite story, however she does not realize that what she reads and dreams about is actually Sakura’s life and adventures capturing the Clear Cards. The book is even in a language she doesn’t recognize but is able to read due to learning/being taught how (it’s unclear which). I’m very interested to know how she came about learning how to read this story, whether someone taught her, whether this was something the book allowed, or if this is a skill she gathered through the magic her clan placed inside of her (they had mentioned wanting to send her to all sorts of places and have her read a great many books). I’m more inclined to believe that the Alice in Clockland book simply allowed her to be the one to read it. Naturally, when we first saw the book in chapter 12 in the manga, Akiho never got a chance to tell Sakura about the content of the story due to a very timely and likely very purposeful interruption from Kaito. After all, if Sakura knew the story, she’d likely recognize the details immediately, and that would obviously ruin Kaito’s very carefully laid out plans.
But what made this chapter the most interesting was the fact that Kero actually had heard of “Alice in Clockland”. It doesn’t seem like he recognized it by name per say, which was very likely due to the fact that this is the name that Akiho has given it while it is in her possession (stated by Momo in chapter 50). I imagine maybe it was something about the mention of clocks that made Kero believe it might be the book he was thinking of, but seeing as the book’s name changes with each owner, it makes sense that he wouldn’t have recognized it for certain without seeing it himself.
Even more intriguing is how sentient in nature the book is implied to be. Sakura goes to find a picture she had taken of it, only to find it gone, and the only way she is even able to show an image of it to Kero and Suppi is via Record. The book appears to really go out of its way to hide from those it doesn’t want to be seen by and only appears to those it wishes.
We then get a bombshell when Kero states that it was once in Clow’s possession, which isn’t entirely surprising. But what is surprising is that the spell that the book supposedly seeks out masters to complete could not be done even by Clow. Whatever the spell may be appears to be more than just forbidden or taboo, but rather labeled impossible. And seeing as Clow himself could not even achieve it and the book promptly yeeted out of his possession by burning up in his hands, it’s understandable how such a spell would be labeled impossible.
I suppose that really raises some very important questions, and that is how strong is this book exactly, and how much magic does it require to complete this ‘impossible’ spell? Well, it seems believed by Kero and Suppi that Sakura was only able to capture it in an image via Record due to the book’s will, and Sakura has proven to be able to show almost literally anything she wants with this card in the past. Sakura’s strength is unreal and was already confirmed at the end of the original series to be stronger than Clow’s, so if the book is able to hide even from her, that really speaks volumes to the strength of Alice in Clockland as well.
So, because Kaito is the one who created a contract with this book and Akiho was the one who named it, reads it, and currently possesses it, what does that say about them? Why did the book choose them when even magicians like Clow were unable to complete the forbidden magic successfully? I don’t think it’s necessarily because of the strength of either in terms of magic. Kaito may be an incredible magician, but Sakura still appears to be able to subdue him if she puts her mind to it, so he is not the strongest magician. And Akiho herself contains no magic at all. So knowing this, why did the book choose them? I think it chose them because it just wanted to see what would happen. Kaito seems willing to die to do this, so the book might be wondering “how far is he willing to go to achieve this?”, and I am even willing to bet that the book isn’t confident that Kaito can succeed either, even with his efforts.
Akiho’s involvement with it could potentially be tied to the magic the clan and association instilled in her as well. The book that the clan and association used on her while performing their spell contained the dragon we’ve seen before on the cover, and we know that this dragon has made appearances in these dreams Sakura has had, so the two could be intertwined in some way.
Tumblr media
Another question that we have continuously had is what this impossible spell may be. Well, the only ‘impossible’ and definitely taboo spell that CLAMP has ever spoken about in any series with magic has been bringing the dead back to life. This topic is specifically mentioned in detail in Tsubasa, and even breaking the laws of the universe wasn’t enough to make that a reality. So my money is on that being the spell in question. I think everyone can relate to wishing that someone lost could be brought back again, but if this were truly what the impossible spell is, that brings up questions again as to why Kaito in particular wants to achieve this. I still believe that Kaito wants to revive someone, and I think that someone is Akiho’s mother. But time will tell for sure what their relationship was even like and what is truly in Kaito’s heart. If it turns out to be a different spell, I’ll be incredibly intrigued, as I cannot think of anything that would be more difficult or more desired by someone. A part of me hopes it is different, honestly, just for the sake of it not following too similar a formula to Tsubasa, because we already know that attempting to such a thing ends badly for everyone.
Sakura then announces that she wants to speak with the book, much to Kero and Suppi’s surprise, but what I love in particular is how Kero says “I trust you on this one Sakura”. It shows that he really does have faith in her and is really going to let her handle things the way she wants now rather than keeping secrets or doing things behind her back to protect her, as most of them (including Syaoran) had been doing until a short time ago.
She’s asked about whether she will accept the role of Alice now, knowing what she knows, and when we get her answer, it is while she is sitting at lunch with Tomoyo and Syaoran. Sakura decides to take the role and that she initially thought to decline it, but ultimately felt that something was going to cause her to end up playing the role anyways. I think what she’s saying here is that the situation feels a bit like fate is involved, and that there is really no use trying to fight it. In fact, she thinks it’s better to trust her instincts this time and go along with the current, and Syaoran, just like Kero, shows that he believes in her as well by agreeing.
I think Tomoyo can sense that things are a bit serious in the discussion, so she wonderfully lightens the mood by fantasizing about how excited she is to make her a dress to wear. I personally cannot wait to see what she comes up with, though I have a feeling it might be the outfit Momo placed her in when she dropped her into the dream where no one knew who she was. I think it would be fitting and certainly has an ‘Alice’ look to it, but I would also love to see something new.
Sakura tells Tomoyo that she cannot wait to wear it, as she had mentioned before that she felt stronger and like she could take on anything while wearing the clothes she makes. She re-emphasizes how if she wears clothing made by her, she’ll be all right no matter what.
After the sweet moment between the two, Syaoran asks the million dollar question of whether or not Akiho will take the other Alice role. Naturally, he must be curious considering all they’ve learned in the last few chapters.
We don’t have to wait long to get our answer as the scene switches over to Akiho and Kaito’s home. Like I thought, Akiho thought about declining due to lack of acting skills, however interestingly enough she answers in exactly the same way as Sakura, claiming that she felt she would end up playing Alice anyways. Akiho, who doesn’t have magic, is also able to feel that pull of fate, and of course she feels it is odd coming from her, and she proactively claims it to be strange for her to say it at all (girl, I’ve been there and totally feel you)..
What breaks my heart about this scene is her sad face in the next panel when she says “I don’t have that kind of power”. It is just another reminder of how she was a failure in the eyes of her family for not having magic, and Kaito appears ready to comfort her by starting to reach out, but suddenly pulls his hand back. It seems evident that there’s a lot he wants to say to her in this moment, but he doesn’t find it appropriate at that point in time. Perhaps a part of him wanted to tell her what he knows? Maybe about what he’s doing? Or maybe he’s just trying to keep his distance to avoid hurting her if he someday disappears. The only thing we know for sure is that in that moment, his heart desperately wanted to be heard, but as per usual, he stopped before treading too far. Once again, Kaito has silenced his heart and his true feelings, keeping them locked carefully inside.
Akiho notices something is off right away, but Kaito smoothly changes the subject by stating that Akiho will not just play Alice, but become her, and this seems to be a lovely piece of foreshadowing by CLAMP. It definitely seems to imply that the climax is approaching and that something huge is going to occur during this play.
Akiho then, being the sharp girl she is, doesn’t even respond to that and insists in a gentle, but assertive way that she wants him to rest while she’s at school. It shows that even though Kaito is pretending to be fine, she can tell that something is very, very wrong, and she wants him to know how important it is to her for him to rest and take care of himself. Kaito naturally pretends to be oblivious to what she means at first, but then agrees, still playing off the situation as if nothing serious is going on at all.
On the way out the door, Momo, being the fucking queen she is, gives the biggest death glare I have seen so far, and I’m living for it. That one glare says “You better fucking rest like she said or I will make you regret it!!!”. Hahahahaha.
Tumblr media
I can’t state enough how much I love how aggressively Momo cares about her family. The way Kaito smiles back though seems to imply that he has zero intention of doing any resting. And as expected, the moment he closes the door, he falls to his feet, shaking and breathing heavy. He says to himself that he can barely make his body move the way he wants anymore, which shows just how hard he had to work just to fake it in front of Akiho. Despite the clearly dangerous situation he’s falling into, he seems to disregard this again by stating that he merely needs to hold on just a little bit longer, and that the story will soon begin for what he has been wishing for. This only serves as further proof that the climax is approaching and particularly with the events of the play.
The chapter ends here, but it seems that this chapter’s main focus was on the Alice in Clockland book. CLAMP wanted to introduce to us the idea of just how strong this book is and give some context as to how powerful the magic Kaito is trying to perform truly is. And then of course it develops more the growth of Sakura and Akiho, but also gives some hope that maybe Kaito will eventually listen to his heart soon. If such a small phrase from Akiho could almost stir him to say something, then it makes me hopeful that he is starting to break his walls just a little, or that at least maybe there’s a crack somewhere that will grow bigger with more time.
Anyways, I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!!

Cantarella: Poison of Blue
Tumblr media
Genres:
Romance
Average Rating: 6.7
Synopsis:
Legend tells of frightful Borgia family, and the poison "Cantarella" that is passed down from succesor to succesor ... The eldest son of the Borgia family, Cesare, is to be the next sucessor. Rejected and ostracized by the public, Cesare's life is a lonely one. But his unexpected salvation may possibly come in the form of his younger sister, Lucrezia, who had been seperated from him sInce birth. Indeed, Lucrezia's return to the castle could have been a new beginning for him, if not for his terrible secret ....
My Rating: 5
My Opinion:
Ok, but lowkey: the art style gives me flashbacks to 00's and early 10's Vocaloid PVs made by fans. And as you can probably guess by the last sentence I have been a Vocaloid fan for quiet some time, almost a decade actually. For all those who aren't familiar: Cantarella is based on a song using two Vocaloids, or vocal synths for vocals. Said song is also called Cantarella and made by Kourosa-P. Check it out btw, it slaps even after it's tenth birthday. Espacially the grace version it's just ... ugh. Yes. Please.
Anyway, so I since I did read a translation of the lyrics at one point I was familiar with the plot of Cantarella and considering that it is actually a pretty interesting premise I was curiois to see what the artist would make out of it. Would they go more of a horror pr thriller route? Would they go for beautiful aristocratic inspired art, like the PV? How would they portray the fucked-up-ness of everything? Only to be answered with a lot of mediocrety. I probably rated this too high because I really like the song but this was so mediocre it kind of hurt. You could do so much with the plot of Cantarella but the artist just delivers the most bare bones adaptation of the plot possible and that's it.
Recommended to:
Hardcore Vocaloid fans, but everyone else will just be bored. Honestly even hardcore Vocaloid fans would be bored ... recommended to hardcore Kaito x Miku shippers who don't care about ... you know ... the Cantarella plot.

Becoming a Family With Him, Part 3 // Shuichi, Hikaru, Rhion, Luke, Eisuke
so this came out, as further celebration for the anni. VERY GOOD, much more appreciated than the prior story set lol that one was kind of boring but i get it
they made the kids for all the... kid-less ones, and the eisuke one that used to be VIP-exclusive is now here for everyone to buy (rip those ppl who gacha for it)
my rambling behind the cut (spoilers!!)
shuichi // as ud expect, shuichi has a literal hime ass looking girl (kikyo) for a daughter. she’s only 6, but is pretty calm and ladylike. She even calls her parents with –sama so... ok luckily shuichi does not strip down all the way in the presence of her daughter and only takes off his suit coat. thanks dad
anyway since shuichi has a break coming up, he wants to have a family trip how nice. but then the dang girl wants to go over to see eisuke WHAT when soryu exists and lives a block away? unrelatable, im closing the app anyway eisuke is her first love, which wtf he’s like 20 yrs older than u. even worse, mc says she’s been in love since she was like 3.
shuichi is reconsidering the benefits of democracy in his mind but eventually relents. but then they’re still following the fucc-days rule they set years ago. well, as he says in the story, RULES ARE RULES
blah blah i don’t want to go over everything bc then it’ll be boring reading the story when it comes out in engl right? also im tired bc it’s 1 am and i just want to play toontown in bed but nothing really bad happens. they are a v cute family bc shuichi is a pleasant and mature dad. kikyo and mc even do a little surprise for him at the end and it is very sweet. i feel like out of all the families, this is the most ideal
mad hatter // so they have twin sons named Rui and Kai. Rui is the childlike one that resembles Rhion in personality, Kai is the more mature one that resembles Al. man i forget that boy’s name but u get me i know they only can use stock bgs but it’s killing me that these dang kids get to sleep in what looks like separate king sized beds.
even though rhion is now a father of two, he still acts like... 10. i mean he still horni but it makes me feel weird
later it’s revealed that Ota teaches them both as an art tutor bc they both showed an interest in art. this is cute bc ota is bad with kids in this universe LOL
the ending on this one was weird cuz the kids didn’t show up in the entirety of the last ep bc it was about WORK. so uh... interesting
hikaru // so their son is named akari. haha get it because it means light. like how hikaru also means light. can mc name her kids unrelated to their father or is that against the Geneva convention
this kid actually acts like an actual little boy. like what hikaru would’ve probably turned into if not for the whole sad backstory. the story starts with akari just bringing a dog randomly home one day. he actually saved the dog (it is very cute bc he did not want the dog to cry), and then after a talk they decide to keep the dog as long as akari knows the responsibility of taking care of an animal.
so next day, the bidders come over to their house and everyone’s like woaw a dog. lol they come into their house as guests and eisuke and mamo still demand for beverages, they all suck
akari names the dog... “Light” (Raito) and i want out of this nightmare. Naturally bc Light is an abandoned dog it’s still kind of bad with interacting with things. But then Light suddenly be giving the ( ╹ਊ╹) to soryu bc remember, animals love him. everyone clowns on soryu for being an unintentional dog whisperer and then akari is like “soryu san pls make me ur apprentice” and he gives some advice like approaching it slowly, and talking to it from the front instead of back.
blah blah there’s a situation where Light goes YEET after a Doberman gets all angry and then hides bc then another dog is scaring it. hikaru swoops in to the save the day as the Real Dog Whisperer. ok it’s cute when hikaru actually gets to look cool  for once LOL
luke // luke is cute on the bc “pre-story” scene he’s actually pretty open to the idea of having kids; he actually goes “well imo we should think abt it pretty soon, but i wanted to hear ur opinion on it” but then he gets horni. and then he’s like “our kids are going to have your collarbones. awesomeee im looking forward to that” ....ok
ok cut to the actual story and they’re in Japan. Luke’s kid looks... strange versus the others. why are his eyes so big? omg voltage his eyes arent going to be saucers just cuz he half white also the kid’s name is Yuri (Or Urey). They couldn’t think of any other Brit-styled names? Like Harry? Henry? William? Wilfred? hey stan be my princess btw he’s pretty cute, though he gives serious “timid kid that gets bullied in the children’s movie” vibes. He calls Luke “daddy” and mc “mammy/mommy”.
so luke talks about his relationship w/ soryu and eisuke and then yuri is like “i want friends like that” wow cute but also find less ethically-complicated friends
so luke lets yuri meet a young patient of his (haru) so they can be friends. they get along so it’s good. haru gets in critical condition later so luke zooms outta there to do the operation.
LOL but at the end yuri is like, “i want to make more friends. (...) can i go to the bidder’s room from now on?” this boy works fast
And then he’s like “Eisuke-san... please be my friend.” HIS POWER. even eisuke was like :O so then eisuke orders a whole bunch of food and books up to the penthouse. But then yuri’s like “...i like eisuke’s eyes” and everyone’s like oh man that’s gonna be his fetish
Baba: why have u started to have an interest in eyes Yuri: I read it from one of daddy’s medical books Hikaru: wtf u can read that at 4??? (...) Soryu: wat Yuri: um... i want soryu to be my friend too Yuri: bc soryu’s eyes are also powerfully cool...
eisuke // ok this gets an extended ramble bc the more annoying the story the longer i must complain
so you might be thinking, “oh so this is gonna be a flashback in some in media res styled story with your 2 kids, u know in the style of the others” and well, no you just go straight to white screen into the flashback, back when eito was smaller and thus a little more cute. well it’s not really false advertising bc they did say “reminisce” in the description. but i wanted to see eito be a good big brother for a moment! or... less good? man i wanted to see kaito go waaaah like a baby idk i wanted to see him exist
so back to the story they cut to small eito. even as a smaller punk he does fight with his dad a little, just w/ a more narrow vocabulary to work with. tho at this point he’s still pretty sweet so clearly eisuke clowning him day and night was a negative effect on his development. (doesn’t treat his child like a child) (child grows up to a punk that doesn’t respect him) (surprised pikachu) being the son of a billionaire means that this child has to go study at a very young age and listen to MOZART. no child of eisuke ichinomiya will be listening to degenerate bops like lee taemin’s criminal next day they all go to the very fancy school that eito will be attending. eisuke does a speech, but then eito is all like “why is papa over there all the time” in reference to how all the other parents in attendance are having fun with their children, but eisuke is busy talking to other people for business and connections etc. etc. mc kind of has a hard time trying to explain it to eito bc... it’s honestly poor parenting... eiji shows up after arriving late, and he’s like “gramps is gonna be with ya today! instead of papa” which is cute but then she’s like psst thanks for coming and im like oh... so grandpa just didn’t randomly come to the open house for fun he’s just gonna be surrogate dad while real dad is busy... aw... and then at the end eito’s like FUC THIS KINDERGARTEN. eisuke is like “(smh) don’t yell in public. (despite everything) you are still the eldest son of the Ichinomiya family”
and so afterwards it’s clear that eito does not want anything to do with this school. he just sits in the classroom until mc is there to pick him up instead of playing in the courtyard or w/e, wanting nothing to do with the other kids.
so later there’s a hiking trip for the students and both of their parents, and mc asks eisuke if he’ll be available for it. eisuke is like, “i have a business trip that day, so I’ll have to adjust my schedule” and he’s been very busy in the opening of a new business or w/e. mc tells him to not do so much for something like that and that it’s ok if she goes alone with eito on the trip.
it’s the day of the trip, and mc goes alone with eito. she notes that a lot of dads did indeed come along for the trip. she apologizes to eito and says that she did talk to eisuke about the trip before, but he’s simply busy for this day. and im like... but girl, you were the one who told him not to change his schedule for the trip. yes a trip may seem less important than business ventures, but don’t make it sound like you weren’t the one who stopped him. lol. idk why im pressed abt this single line of dialogue bc later she does realize she fucced up there well eito is just like w/e about it and has pretty much accepted that sort of thing
anyway eito goes missing later and one of the kids said that he told eito that his dad (eisuke) didn’t come bc his dad thinks that his work is more important than his son. so eito got mad and ran off somewhere
and then mc finally gets the lightbulb moment that eito... wants to see his dad!! he ran off to go try to see him somehow??? !! wow so sweet
it’s raining like a mf but then in her search for eito eisuke randomly pops out of nowhere. He’s like “ho i did not remember saying that i wasn’t coming” and she’s like “im sorrryyy” and both me and him are like “just find the dang kid”
ok yea they find eito, he starts being a good student, and u start to see where he starts being antagonistic towards his dad LOL etc. etc. lol this story annoyed me so i don’t feel like doing the rest of the play by play orz
anyway thanks for reading my garbage LOL

C-love-s and Oranges
Yo! Here's the hot press I mentioned yesterday ;) (This is a bit of an European thing and doesn’t quite fit Japan… but I was searching for a fitting idea for the day and this is what came to my mind…) (Btw. sorry for the cheesy title... I didn't have any better idea, so...)
______________________________________________________________
5th December 21:30… Haibara was waiting in front of the Kudo mansion for the lights to go out. It was freezing. She shuddered. So when after half an hour the lights were still on, she went to the front door and put her ear against the cold wood. It was weirdly silent inside. What are they doing?!“ She thought, carefully sneaking in. As she went up the stairs, she realized that, unfortunately, the light came exactly from where she wanted to go: The tiny room which was currently a living room. (She always asked herself why they used this room in particular… It seemed a bit ridiculous concerning the overall size of the mansion…) Haibara peeked inside the living room and found the boys sleeping on the sofa, huddled against each other. The window was open and it was quite cold. She could see Shinichi shudder and snuggle closer to Kaito out of the corner of her eye. A book was laying open on the coffee table in front of the sofa. Haibara flipped it over to read the title „Les Confidences d'Arsène Lupin“ it said. They read it in french? She wondered. She didn’t even know they spoke french… She laid the book back where it had been then placed the basket of oranges she’d brought next to it. One of the fruit grinned broadly into he world with its clove studded face. It wore a tiny Santa-hat Haibara had sewn herself. She pulled it a bit further over the orange, so it wouldn’t fall off too easily. When she was happy about how it looked, she walked over to the window and closed it as silently as possible. Then she went to get a blanket and carefully covered the boys. Finally she backed out of the room smiling and turned off the lights. „Good night… and happy Saint Nicholas Day!“ She whispered.
______________________________________________________________
Well then... Happy Saint Nick's to you too!!!
Cheer's, Your Santa
———
First of all - happy St Nicolaus day! I hope you got something nice in your boot. I got a chocolate santa who‘s waiting to be snacked away.
Thank you for the very cute story 😭 Haibara giving them Nicolaus presents is so adorable? And the whole scene of them being huddled together like this - they‘re so precious. A very sweet thing to read after a long day and the addition of Haibara was very sweet! Thank you for sharing and I hope you had a nice day too ❤️

“I don’t think my heart can take watching you love someone else again.” With Shuichi/Kaito 👀💕 (I love that prompt list btw,,)
Same prompt twice bby!!! I don’t mind because I love Shuichi & Kaito 🥺
Welcome to COLLEGE AU! We haven’t seen College AU in a long time; it’s nice to see you again!
🌻🌻🌻
“I don’t think my heart can take watching you love someone else again.”
They said the exact same thing at the exact same time.
“Wait, what did you say?” Kaito asked, dumbfounded, pointing a finger at Shuichi
“What did YOU say?” Shuichi asked, just as befuddled
“Hey, I asked first,” Kaito wasn’t backing down
“I, uh, said ‘I don’t think my heart can take watching you love someone else again’,” Shuichi confirmed Kaito’s suspicions, avoiding his gaze
Kaito, however, wasn’t ready to admit that he said the exact same words. He needed absolute certainty they meant the same thing.
They sat in their cramped dorm room on the edges of their beds, feeling like the cinderblock walls were closing in.
Shuichi’s throat was dry. Are we really doing this right now? He looked at Kaito, who looked like he was expecting something. I guess we are.
“Kaito,” Shuichi sighed. He didn’t really think about what he’d say next, but he tried to put the last semester’s thoughts into words, “you know how I’ve told you ‘I’m really glad we ended up being roommates’?”
“Yeah,” Kaito faintly smiled, “How could I forget? Hearing you say that always makes me really happy. It sticks with me for a while.”
Shuichi knew he was getting his hopes up. Whenever he looks at Kaito— tall, handsome, caring, supportive— he knows a man like him is out of his league. He’s too good for him. But they’ve become so incredibly close, since they share a room and bathroom. And they click. But there’s no way someone like him would want to be more than friends with someone like Shuichi. That’s what he tells himself, anyway.
But now he was in a corner. After what he said, there’s no way Kaito would just let him drop the subject. “You mean a lot to me, Kaito. I just don’t want you to run away or anything—“
“Shuichi, do you want me to go first?”
“Huh?” Kaito has a habit of catching Shuichi by surprise.
“I thought of what I want to say, and it seems like you’re still trying to figure it out, that’s all.”
How could he sound so nonchalant? Maybe we aren’t on the same page? Shuichi lightly smacked his temple to erase these thoughts, but nodded ‘yes’ for Kaito to speak, expecting the worst.
“Remember that double date we went on? Back in like September? We took those girls rollerskating.”
Shuichi smiled softly, remembering the day well. Kaito continued, “And you remember how I told you she ghosted me? Yeah, that was a lie.”
Shuichi cocked his head, wanting to hear more. “Yeah, she actually stopped seeing me because,” Kaito grabbed his phone from beside him and scrolled through old messages, “and I quote: ‘get over your fucking roommate first. I’m not going to be your god damn beard’.”
And that got Kaito to laugh. “It’s funny, looking back on it now. She saw it before I did. I was outraged at first, of course, but then I realized she was right.”
Shuichi, hope in his heart, suddenly needed to speak. “But I kept seeing the girl I took out that night. We were together for a couple months; why didn’t you say anything?”
“Because you were happy. I couldn’t take that away from you—“
“I would’ve been happier with you!” Shuichi widened his eyes and had to stop himself from covering his mouth with his hands. He didn’t want to say that out loud, but of course, it’s too late for that.
Kaito slid from the edge of his bed, letting gravity bring his feet to the floor rug they shoddily placed over the cold linoleum tiles between their beds. He raised his eyebrows, indicating he wanted Shuichi to keep talking. So he did. “Every time I came home and you had some random person in your arms, laying in bed together... I couldn’t take it. The envy has been eating me up inside for months.”
Kaito stepped a little closer, his hands in his pockets. “Why didn’t you say anything?” He threw Shuichi’s words back in his face.
Shuichi bit his lip and looked down at his fingers. His knuckles were turning white as he clenched his fists tighter and tighter. “I don’t deserve you.”
“Shuichi,” Kaito uttered the name in disbelief. If anything, he thought he doesn’t deserve someone like Shuichi. He’s gorgeous, intelligent, compassionate... anyone would be lucky to be with him.
Shuichi shut his eyes like drawstrings. He could feel the self-doubt bubbling from his stomach into his throat. Don’t cry don’t cry don’t cry don’t cry
And then he felt strong hands take hold on his arms. He opened his watering eyes to see Kaito, inches away from his face with worry in his eyes. “Hey. You’re okay,” he spoke softly. Kaito is normally so bombastic; hearing his voice be so gentle was actually helping Shuichi calm down, “You are an incredible person. You deserve to be in love with someone who values you, alright? Someone who thinks you’re incredible.”
Kaito used his thumb to wipe a tear from Shuichi’s cheek. “There’s my favorite smile,” and his hand didn’t leave Shuichi’s face
“Kaito, you said I deserve to be with someone who thinks I’m incredible, right?” Shuichi asked, feeling his hands start to tremble, “Wh-why not you?”
“Why not me what?” Kaito chuckled, genuinely a bit lost
But Shuichi had finally connected the dots. It’s now or never. He set his trembling hands on Kaito’s shoulders, stabilizing them as he took grip. Using all of his strength, he pulled Kaito closer, and kissed him with every ounce of longing he had collected for months.
Instinctively, Kaito brought his other hand to hold Shuichi’s face and reciprocated, doing whatever he could to let Shuichi know this felt right.
When the kisses became softer, more delicate, they lingered, as if they were savoring every touch. And they finally pulled back, opening their eyes to see pure bliss: the other smiling back at them.
Kaito chuckled and ran his fingers through Shuichi’s hair, “Hey, you’re pretty good at that. If I’d known I was missing out on that, I would’ve manned up sooner.”

43, 45, 51, and 98 where Shuichi’s s/o who died in the killing game was actually the mastermind? it doesn’t have to be in that order btw
Ohhh wow we’re going for MAXIMUM angst here!
43) “You’re dead to me.” 45) “Why do you look at me like that?” 51) “I thought you died.” 96) “Just shut the hell up.” 98) “I thought you loved me.”
.........
“It’s kinda strange how we didn’t see any blood during [y/n]’s execution, is it not?” Tsumugi brought up. “Unlike every other blackened so far, we didn’t see them actually die in front of us. I don’t know...it’s just my guess. I could be wrong..”
“No, you might be onto something, Tsumugi.” Shuichi cut in, looking towards your empty podium solemnly. Ever since your death, he missed you dearly and struggled to push forward through this game without you by his side...knowing you aren’t here to hold or comfort him when he needed it.
His heart ached every time he thought of you and how you became executed for...trying to save his life.
Condemning you for the crime hurt the most..but you reassured him it was okay. He had to keep facing the truth no matter how painful it was.
But now that he discovered more about the academy, and stood here for a final trial to uncover the mastermind and the truth of Rantaro’s death...he brought up something else:
The unusual circumstances regarding your execution.
Unlike the others--where the culprit’s exact moment of death and their corpses were shown...in yours, you were only pulled back into darkness, never to be seen again. And your room key was tossed in front of Shuichi, who was on his knees in grief and despair.
He didn’t know why that was so..but it gave him hope that you somehow survived.
“Maybe they..teleported out of their execution?” Himiko proposed. “Or maybe they found an exit?”
“We thought Kirumi did..until we realized Monokuma was mocking her desperation to escape. Speaking of which....you’ve been awfully quiet ever since we started talking about [y/n].” Shuichi shot a pointed glare at the family of robotic bears. “Why is that?”
“Huh? I just like hearing ya chat about your dearly-departed lover!” Monokuma giggled. “But maybe my adorable Monokubs can take it from here~!”
“E-Ehh??” Monophanie squeaked in surprise, looking around. “What are we discussing??”
“If [y/n]’s somehow alive or not,” Monosuke explained. “Not that it really matters..I thought yous was chattin’ about the mastermind! [Y/n] is dead and that’s that.”
“You seem awfully defensive. Do you know something we don’t about [y/n]’s execution?” Shuichi pressed. “You’ve all participated in the ones prior...but you weren’t anywhere to be found during theirs.”
“I mean uhh..” Monotaro started to sweat. “W-We Monokubs like to work “behind the scenes” sometimes..y-you know! We could’a chopped [y/n] to bits!”
“But we didn’t! We didn’t even lay a claw on them!” Monophanie blurted out, only for her eyes to widen as she realized her slip-up. “I-I mean..uh..o-oh no...”
“Wait, so you participated in their execution...yet you didn’t hurt them? Why’s that?”
“U-Uh..oh I’m gonna be sick again-”
“DID-YOU-SEE-US-DURING-KAITO’S-EXECUTION?” Monodam interjected. “NO, SO-YOUR-MEMORIES-MUST-BE-WRONG.”
“No, it’s your memories that are wrong. Because I remember a lot of minor details...including the fact you were all present during that trial,” the detective pointed out. “But you suddenly vanished afterwards. Tell me, what really happened to [y/n]? What made them so different from the rest of us?”
At that point, the Kubs were freaking out, though they forced themselves to calm down as their “father” waved the detonator around threateningly.
‘I wonder..why would the Monokubs only spare [y/n] if they’re suppose to be against us? If it’s what I fear..then--’
Suddenly, Shuichi’s whole body tensed up as an overwhelming feeling of dread overtook him. He tried to halt the thought, but it was too late...
His one fear, something he refused to believe in yet couldn’t rule out...
“Shuichi..I..share a similar concern,” K1B0 remarked. “Is it possible that..[y/n] was only spared because they’re....?”
“The mastermind?” Maki finished, which plunged the whole trial room into a tense silence.
“...I-I...I hate that’s a possibility..I wish it wasn’t..” Shuichi put a hand over his chest, feeling that familiar ache in his heart returning as he glanced back at your portrait. “I don’t wanna believe that someone I loved, who gave their life to protect me, could do all of this. [Y/n]..if this is true, please stop hiding...come out and face me!”
Everyone was stunned by his raised tone of voice, though Monokid only laughed hysterically.
“Man that’s a stupid-ass theory! Even stupider than Monodam!” He cackled. “Sheesh just get over it!! Who gives a rat’s ass if they’re the mastermind, huh!?! The dead can’t speak for shit, so it’s useless!”
“No. It’s not useless..because [y/n] isn’t dead!! They’re alive and listening via the Nanokumas right now!” With tears streaming down his face, Shuichi gripped the podium tightly. [Y/n]..I thought you loved me. If you still do...you’d come out and-”
“Fine. I can’t keep this up anymore...I’m so sorry, Shuichi.”
Everyone in the room gasped upon seeing an Exisal descend from the ceiling, landing right behind your portrait. The cockpit then opened, revealing none other than-
“Ta-da~ Here I am! Alive and well!” You jumped off and pushed the portrait to the floor, glancing around at everyone’s stunned expressions...before your eyes landed on Shuichi. “Why do you look at me like that?”
“Why..? I thought you died..” He mumbled, his hands trembling. As much as he wanted to run into your arms...he stayed still. “I was so..broken after losing you..I-I couldn’t eat or sleep for days, and...and only now you decide to show up?! Why?”
But all you could do was smile and sigh. “I know, sweetheart, but I had to stay..out of sight. I needed to keep this game going at all costs--”
“Just shut the hell up. You don’t get to “sweetheart” me anymore..”
You blinked in surprise, stunned by the bitterness in his tone.
“So you admit you’re the mastermind. Is this all it is...it’s all just a game to you?! A game of bullshit rules?! Kaede was innocent..yet you framed her for Rantaro’s death, didn’t you?!”
“.........”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but..you’re dead to me.” More tears leaked from his eyes as he bowed his head, unable to look at you anymore. “I forgave you before, because I still loved you. But I can never forgive you for the suffering you’ve put me and everyone else through...b-but why, [y/n]? Why make us suffer? Make me suffer?? Who is this game being shown to?!!”
“...huh? It’s..not obvious to you all yet?”
“Wh-What?” He looked up, confused.
“What do you mean?” Maki scowled. “You better answer us..or else I’ll-”
“Kill me? Yeah, yeah I got you, “Miss Assassin”..” You put your hands up, your smile--which held no sympathy or remorse--never wavering. “Shuichi unveiled many small truths, but this big truth will be a REAL shocker!”
Nothing could prepare anyone for what you said next:
"Everything you know about this game, this world, and yourselves....is fictional!”

____
Word count: 2800
Summary: The participants of the killing game stay away from Kokichi, and big villain Kokichi antagonizes himself. Meanwhile, Shuichi just wants to have a talk.
____
After Monokuma's new motive, everyone agreed that Kokichi had to be the mastermind. It didn't help that even the boy himself pushed the idea on to his classmates. Shuichi didn't buy into the obvious lie.
The motive put Kokichi at a severe disadvantage; he couldn't access the main school building, the dorms— really, he couldn't get inside any building. Not only that, but he was much easier to spy on and sneak up to. Still, Shuichi could see why it was so easy for his peers to think of Kokichi as the villain hiding among them; on surface level, it would make sense for the mastermind to put himself in a position of power to strike fear and force the killing game to start, and somehow making himself grow taller than every building overnight seemed like a good way to do that.
Shuichi's footsteps were slow with reluctance as he walked through the courtyard. Kaito and Maki wouldn't let him go talk to Kokichi if they knew— at least not alone, but they didn't have to know nor find out. The three of them had already separated long ago after they were done with training, and come to think of it, he hadn't met anyone else wandering out on his way, besides Ryoma who hung around the dorms. He was glad no one would question him, but nervous at the idea of having little to no witness should something happen that night.
Kokichi was thankfully awake, sitting behind the main building and staring hard at his checkered scarf that had for some reason been laid out on the ground. Shuichi felt even more hesitant to break whatever odd thing was going on. All of a sudden, he remembered why he was so nervous; Kokichi looked much, much more intimidating when he could grab anyone in a fist and dangle them twenty feet above ground. Shuichi decided he could try to talk to him another time, and spun on his heels to retreat when a voice made him freeze on the spot.
"My beloved detective! I was just thinking about you~"
When said detective looked over his shoulder, he found a giant Kokichi peering down at him with a radiant smile, and he somehow found himself regretting both his decision to come and to leave.
"Kokichi, ah… Wh-what were you thinking?"His hand unconsciously reached for the hat on his head to pull it further down, and he didn't miss how Kokichi's eyes flickered to the hat and reflected something that vanished too fast for Shuichi to read into.
"Nothing, nothing! Just thinking that you're basically my best target to kill," almost too easily, his smile stretched into a familiar leer, "An investigation without our dearest, coolest detective just wouldn't go the same. Besides, no one could suspect me of killing my beloved, so you're my ticket to get out of this hell school! Ah, or maybe I could bury your dead body so that there would be no body discovery and no class trial, only the pain and despair of loosing yet another classmate. How's that sound?"
What the— that was harsh, and quick, almost instantaneous. Kokichi was definitely on edge, all the more reasons not to talk to him. Still…"Please don't joke about that," Shuichi pulled his hat further down, silently apologizing to Kaede for still being this weak after the death of so many of his friends. He didn't dare look up to the large face of the evil leader.
A beat passed, then another, and when nothing more happened and the boy thought nothing more would happen and he would better leave already, "… Sheesh, fine. I'm sorry you're so sensitive, Shuichi."
"A-ah," the sudden mood swing caught him off guard. Kokichi's voice had fallen much lower and quieter than its usual childish high pitch. "It's fine." He still didn't dare look up, instead focusing his gaze on the scarf that laid on the ground. "I… What were you doing?"
"Oh, this? Nothing, really, just lil' old me playing games with lil' old myself. Hey, maybe I won't kill Saihara if he beats me at a game of chess!" Without looking up, he could feel the giant boy shift and lean above him and saw his shadow stretch until it engulfed him.
"Wha- I didn't- I only wanted to talk a bit."
"Wha-? Ah? I did-didn't- I only want to play a game. So really, it's your choice."
There was really no arguing with him. Maybe Shuichi could get him to talk if he accepted to play with him for a bit. "Alright, but," he stepped closer up, inspecting the scarf. It had been folded into a sixty four squares chessboard, but, "How are we playing without pieces?"
"You just have to imagine real hard that they're there, and suddenly you can see them right in front of you! I also hope you know the algebraic notation, since we'll be needing it." Shuichi tried to ignore the unnerving feeling of the ground faintly shaking under his feet as Kokichi shifted and fidgeted on his spot like an overly excited child.
"I think I do, but doesn't this sounds a little too hard?"
"Geez, Shuichi, I didn't think you of all people would have trouble imagining what's not there. You look like the kid in middle school who only talked to his imaginary friends. Besides, games are always more fun on hard mode anyway." Shuichi sighed and resigned himself to the fact that he was about to waste precious sleep hours playing an impossible game of chess with a giant clown. He stepped closer still and positioned himself in front of the makeshift gameboard, then glanced up to Kokichi. Instead of the mocking smirk he'd expected, he was only met with a big, almost amused grin and eyes sparkling with excitement. Shuichi looked down again, some of the previous tension leaving his body. "Alright, I'll start, since black fits your aesthetic better. E-four."
And if the 'game' itself wasn't already hard enough, Shuichi couldn't, for the life of it, stay focused with how fidgety Kokichi was being. His fingers hammered down on the ground incessantly and his head rocked left and right the same way Angie's would, both motions sending faint vibrations in the ground under Shuichi's feet. He didn't get a break either when it was the others turn to play, since he'd state his next move without missing a beat— almost as if he'd already known what Shuichi would do. It was uncanny yet interesting to get an insight on how the supreme leader's brain worked, only it would have been better if it had happened before the weird growth motive, when Shuichi didn't have to fear he'd get snatched up in the air at any given moment.
Sometime in the next hour, he ended up taking his hat off to help him focus and get a clearer look at the gameboard; gameboard which he stood in the middle of, in an attempt to help him keep track of the pieces' placement. He frowned, spun around and looked left and right as he tried to remember where he'd left his rook. So focused and lost in the game, he failed to notice when his foot got caught in the fabric; on the next step he took, he fell back on his back. Startled and faces reddening, he fumbled to get back on his feet, when a large face came in his view and stopped him in his track.
"Nishishi~ Shuichi, you're really funny being like this." An encore of the insect incident; Kokichi's upside-down face loomed over him, so close he could faintly feel his warm breath ruffling his hair. Shuichi instinctively reached for a hat that wasn't there, before shuffling his hand back down in shame. He wished it had been there for reassurence, but ultimately decided it was for the best that he couldn't hide behind it. He couldn't be anything but intimidated by Kokichi when he towered over him like that and could so easily do so much, but he didn't want to be scared when he knew that Kokichi, despite all the awful things he was (and he was a lot of awful things) wouldn't go far with his games and wouldn't use his new stature to his advantage.
"It's…" he took a second to breath, regain his composure and look the giant supreme leader in the eyes, "It's hard to remember how the board is set after every move," he got up and brushed himself off. Why can you do it so easily? He wouldn't expect a serious answer to that, so he kept the question to himself.
"Oh hush, this is the only excuse you got to justify losing so badly?" He leaned away and smirked, "I could do you a favor and capture a couple more of your pieces, hmm? Or maybe, here," out of the corner of his eyes, Shuichi saw a large hand come his way, and all the courage he'd been building up for so long all but melted away as his eyes shut tight and stumbled several steps back, once again getting his foot caught in fabric and falling back on his butt. Atua help him, at that point, he only wished the fabric would swallow him whole so he wouldn't embarrass himself again.
He kept his eyes closed tight and waited, but when there was no pressure around himself he cracked an eye open and saw, to his relief, the hand hanging a few feet away from him. The relief was quickly replaced with shame, and he felt a little stupid for having gotten scared so easily after having put so much faith in Kokichi. From above, he heard the boy groan and say, "Relax Max, I said I wouldn't kill you until we're done with this game," with a tinge of annoyance. Fear lingered in Shuichi's mind when he saw the hand approaching him once again, but this time he managed to stand his ground when fingers slipped behind his back and easily scooped him up in an open palm.
In the next second, he was lifted and dropped off in one swift movement, leaving him dizzy and slightly sickened. He clutched on to whatever his hands found first, and took a moment to process his position on Kokichi's shoulder, and another moment to answer him when he said, "Better? Now you can't come whining that you can't see the board clearly."
"Yeah…" he muttered, still busy trying to find his balance. He found his hand balled up in a fist around a lone lock of purple hair, so he moved closer still until he was huddled against Kokichi's neck, and he hoped the other boy wouldn't hear his heart pounding with unease.
They were able to carry out the game for a while longer. At some point, Kokichi's hand ended up on his lap, and Shuichi, despite his anxiety spiking up at the gesture, stayed quiet about it, deciding to accept the extra bit of safety. He took it as a sign that Kokichi, too, was comfortable enough, so he decided to try to strike up the conversation he'd wanted to have.
"Are you sure you're not cheating ?" Maybe not the best way to start some small talk, but the first to come to mind when he was loosing more and more of his important imaginary pieces with every turn and he was sure Kokichi was somehow cheating.
"Who? M-Me?" Kokichi sniffled, and his shoulder jolted with a faked sob, leaving Shuichi to clutch onto the large hand on his lap like a lifeline. "I can't believe my beloved would accuse me of such- such a nefarious deed! Shuichi, you really broke my heart here."
Then all at once, his voice switched from 'heartbroken' back to nonchalant when he said, "Besides wouldn't you except the mastermind of this thrilling game of murder and betrayal to be good at some kids' strategy games? You know, I lied about my real talent, I'm actually the ultimate chess master…"
"You have poor taste in motives if you're really behind this killing game." Shuichi cut him off before he could drift away from the subject. A perfect opportunity not to waste. "I mean, this is more disadvantageous to you than anything. You can't access any building, nor can you hide anywhere if you need to be discreet for your secret evil plans. And if you were really the mastermind, you wouldn't want to single yourself out and leave our classmates feeling safe and secure…"
More and more inconsistencies came to his mind as he presented his deductions, and Kokichi listened, silent and unmoving. "I think… I think the reason behind this motive is for the mastermind to push our classmates away from you and to," he bit his lip and prepared himself to present yet another truth he didn't want to believe, "To force you to kill someone. The school can't accommodate for you for more than a few days at most, so unless the motive's effect is reversed soon…" he left the end unsaid.
Kokichi remained silent and still, so much so that Shuichi was almost tempted to reach out to his neck and check for a pulse, when he settled for, "Maan, Shuichi, you really are naive. You really thought this was all there was to this motive?" The hand on his lap slid off, and Kokichi leaned back against the wall behind him in an viciously abrupt movement that made Shuichi slip and almost fall, then he went on without a pause, "You know, your logic doesn't apply to every situation, mister detective. The only reason I care about is my own entertainment, simple as that. And if I get bored, I can reverse the motive whenever I want."
Shuichi couldn't see his face from his angle, but he could imagine the leer easily plastered on it, like a mask worn a hundred times. "Wouldn't you be breaking your own rules then? And admitting defeat to the participants of the game?"
The debate that ensued made Shuichi feel like he was back on trial grounds. Kokichi shot him arguments to prove he was mastermind. They were full of contradictions, half-hearted and shaky as a card castle in the middle of a storm, and too easily, his truth cut through the other's words like a bullet. Kokichi sounded bored, like he'd prefer keeping his lie true but wouldn't mind an outcome in which Shuichi busted him. And Shuichi wanted that, to see through Kokichi's lies, to get a chance to understand why he was so hellbent on making a villain out of himself when he so obviously worked to stop the killing game just like his classmates, he wanted to reach out to him and pull him out of his self-inflicted loneliness and work together with him to save their friends, if only he would take his hand.
Their debate came to a halt when a crash was heard from Miu's lab. Shuichi distinctly felt Kokichi stiffen and tense up at the sound. He brought a hand back up to his smaller classmate and wrapped it around him in a loose fist, before he got up and made his way to the inventor's lab in quiet, quick steps. There, Shuichi was lowered back on solid ground and rushed in the lab.
His knees almost gave out, his mouth hung open in a silent scream. Ryoma's body lay in the middle of the room in a pool of his own blood. Lifeless eyes stared at the detective, and the detective stared back. Shuichi felt his throat constrict, his vision swimming, he clutched his chest and tore his eyes away from the scene. He had let another one of his friends die, he would soon have to investigate the crime, to doom the killer among them by his own hands.
"Shit," he turned around, and there was Kokichi peering in the lab and their classmate's body with a frown. It vanished as quick as it had come and was replaced by a blank face with a click of his tongue. "Well then, Shuichi, I guess I'll leave you here to do your detective work while I go call the others, hmm?" And he got up without waiting for an answer. Before he left, Shuichi heard him mutter, "I hope the next motive doesn't make me really tiny or something."
