Hey everyone! I am back. Sorry for leaving the blog in a limbo. I have been working on a personal project and that has been consuming my days and energy. During these months I couldn’t work on the audio, it is only 30 sec longs right now. However, I have worked on a MULTI CHAPTER Sasusaku fic (Kage Sasuke) fanfiction, as I am also fond of writing.
Tumblr has tagged this as ā€˜mature’. Use this link to read the Prolouge for Free! But because of the immense appreciation on the story I will be keeping 30 chapters out of 50 chapters free. The rest are going to be exclusively for my Patreon Paid-tier members, as a token of gratitude for their support.
Will make an audio based on this fiction once I am done with the audio that I promised. SCROLL DOWN FOR THE LINK

As angry as I am at Naruto for being mad at Sasuke for wanting revenge, for expecting Sasuke to defend the village after everything, it makes too much sense.
Itachi set up his own death in a way that gave Sasuke the perfect chance to go back to Konoha. It's kind of why he went to Naruto- to make sure if his own planning fails, Naruto would bring Sasuke back. Naruto expected him to return after Itachi. Itachi did it all for Konoha, so he respects his dear brother's dying wishes and returns.
Unfortunately(fortunately tbh), Sasuke recognized that Itachi's wish for this stems from deeply rooted propaganda to always put the village before anything else. Itachi never managed to break out of the mentality of serving Konoha. I doubt that was even an option for him. Naruto has never considered this either. This is their life. Living up to The Will of Fire is the way by which they defined their self-worth and identity.
There's nothing bigger than Konoha.
Sasuke on the other hand, understood the exploitation for what it was and decided to break free. Every Kage in the 5 Kage summit admitted to war mongering. They know the only way to sustain themselves is through violence so they propagate it. They condemn the Akatsuki outwardly but so many of them used them for self-preservation.
They justify their existences with hypotheticals like "if we aren't there, the other countries might invade". Might??? Konoha is GONE and none of you have invaded. That is a non-issue. The daimyou seem to not have had a hand in any of the shinobi wars. It was them egging each other on.
Why would Sasuke NOT want to end these fuckers????

You know seeing Gaara again at the summit is probably kinda funny from Sasuke’s perspective because Gaara is lecturing Sasuke about morality and shit (operating with very incomplete information) but this is Sasuke’s FIRST TIME seeing Gaara after the timeskip. The last time Sasuke saw Gaara he was a mentally unstable serial killer screaming that Sasuke was his prey hallucinating that he was talking to his dead mother.

impure world reincarnation part 1
Imagine.
Orochimaru ressurects the four hokage during the fourth shinobi war. Hashirama does his whole speech, they get told what’s happening out there, the usual. Suddenly, Tobirama stops silently fighting for control as he’s been doing since he felt the connection to the pure lands shut closed.
ā€œIf Madara is behind this warā€¦ā€ everyone can see the mental calculations in his eyes, ā€œwhere did you steal my Edo Tensei Technique from?ā€
Orochimaru raises an eyebrow. ā€œA laboratory in the northern mountains. The barrier seals were a work of art, a masterpiece of its own.ā€
ā€œDid you discover any of my other labs?ā€
ā€œOther?ā€
The Second Hokage nods continuously, deep into thought.
ā€œUm, Tobirama?ā€ Hashirama asks sternly. ā€œI know that look on your face, what did you do?ā€ Sasuke notes it’s a tone of voice he can vaguely recall Itachi using on him in their youth — an older brother absolutely done with his younger sibling’s antics.
ā€œI… might have an idea. Wait a moment,ā€ and with that, he teleports out of the room.
The non-Kage stare at the empty spot the Second was standing in a moment ago. Minato lights up.
ā€œOh, wow, I’ve always wondered how it originally looked,ā€ Hashirama turns around and looks at him, so the Fourth explains, ā€œI improved and mastered it. It was sort of my signature?ā€ He adds a bit sheepishly. Hashirama gives him a smile.
ā€œI’m glad Tobirama’s work is getting continued, then. He was always a great inventor, he just sometimes didn’t know when to stop.ā€ He pointedly side eyes Orochimaru, who ignores it.
Then, Tobirama snaps back into the room. He’s holding a vial of a red liquid. The snake sannin looks very attentive.
ā€œOkay, don’t be mad,ā€ he starts, looking at Hashirama (who quickly rebutts ā€œHow do you expect me not to get mad if you start off like this?!ā€), ā€œbut I have an idea on how to throw Madara off, if not stop him in his tracks altogether.ā€
ā€œWhat is that?ā€/ā€œWho is that?ā€ Minato and Orochimaru ask at the same time.
ā€œUchiha Izuna’s blood.ā€

Naruto Live Spectacle (and Road of Naruto)
The first two parts of Naruto Live Spectacle run for two hours. The first one retells the first part of the manga, and the parts that do not directly relate to the main storyline (Naruto and Sasuke) are cut out. There are completely no Chunin exams arc and Tsunade search arc. But the Land of Waves arc is shown quite fully there, with all the necessary dialogues about the "most precious" and love and power. Clearly, the priority is on themes and content, rather than battles and events. Next comes the battle with Gaara (which also contains dialogues about love from Yashamaru) and VOTE1. This is probably the best option for adapting the first part in two hours.
The situation is similar with the second part, which adapts the first four arcs of Shippuden. There's nothing that doesn't include Sasuke. There is no Kazekage rescue arc and Team 8's battle against Akatsuki (but there is the creation of a Rasenshuriken). But all the quarrels between Naruto and Sai about Sasuke are included, lol. Priorities here...
This is a kind of Sasuke Shippuden tbh, his arc with Itachi is central here. It's obvious that the director is a Sasuke fan.
Some scenes legally look like a Romeo and Juliet production.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I immediately remembered the PV "Road of Naruto", which also briefly retells Naruto. Everything there consists of battles and there is almost nothing beyond them in general. And there is a very strange prioritization. Chunin exams take the most time (1:55 minutes out of 9:30) there. The Fourth Shinobi World War is mainly shown in a slide show. The battle against Madara at the end lasts 4 seconds, like???
But the funniest thing there is the Kage Summit arc. It SCREAMS that the director hates Sasuke because... Well, first there are intentionally several seconds about how Gokage kicks Sasuke's ass, and not the other way around, and then the emphasis is on all his "terrible crimes" in this arc. In particular, the attack on Sakura, who attacked him first, lol. This is the most disgusting summary you can think of.
I just like the comparison of these two summary. They have a different format, but that's not even the main difference. They focus on different things and it is obvious from them how their creators see "Naruto" as a whole.

Best of Time Travel AU
There are A LOT of time travel fix-it fics, but this isn't my favourite trope. That said, this post might be the only part of the recommendations for this section of Naruto fanfiction.
Uzumaki Revival byĀ Lerya @lerya-fanfic They had been trapped in the ruins of Uzushio for who knows how long, the hastily erected barrier on the point of breaking, which would mean their deaths at the hand of Kaguya, when the Bijuu come with a solution. A solution that requires them to make the ultimate sacrifice, to give them a chance to change it all. - Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi and Obito were reborn as a part of the Uzumaki clan to fix past mistakes. This is my favourite fic, where Naruto is a functioning Kage. Everything is logical in this fanfic. Sakura is a strong and capable woman; everyone in our small group acknowledges how competent as a leader Naruto is. KakaObi and Sns are established relationships; interactions between Sasuke and Naruto are too precious. NaruSasu/SasuNaru | Time Travel AU | Fix it | KakaObi | Kage Naruto | Uzushiogakure (81,338)
French Kissing, the End of the World, and Other Impossible Ordeals byĀ Tsume_Yuki This is it, centuries of excellent genetics, of carefully selected marriages to maximise the potential of future generations and it’s going to be Sasuke who introduces idiocy to the Uchiha bloodline. The ancestors must be rolling in their graves. In which Sasuke is smitten, Naruto is a badass, and timetravel happens. - This fic saved me from depression quite a few times. You could just read it purely for serotonin production. I just can't get over how smitten Sasuke is. They save the world together and live happily ever after. I believe this is the best-written fem Naruto I ever saw.Ā  SasuNaru | Fem Naruto | Time Travel AU | Fix it | Smitten Sasuke | Smart Naruto | BAMF Naruto | Protective Sasuke (16,194)
Two Lifetimes byĀ KinomiAkai @kinomiakai With every passing day, it's becoming clearer and clearer that Sasuke is dead. So what else would Naruto do, if he got the chance to try all over again? - They got another chance to fix everything. Sns is not established YET, but our boys have a happy ending. SasuNaru/NaruSasu | Time Travel AU | Fix it | Eventual romance | Happy ending (11,166)

You can't tell me one day that exterminating the Uchiha was justified because other nations would invade and there would be war, and the next day that attacking the kage summit was wrong because poor kages were innocent. They are either blood-thirsty imperialists or innocent victims, both can't be true. Freaking make up your mind.

it's telling that at sns' pivotal moments, and during the scenes where they discuss their bond when they become more honest about their feelings, it's framed in such a way that distance is put between them and others. their bond is theirs alone.
like during the LoW they're separated physically from the rest by ice mirrors:
Tumblr media
during vote1 it's a battle just between themĀ as they shed previous pretenses:
Tumblr media
during the reunion scene sasuke gets up close and personal with naruto and only naruto as he speaks to him more personally, and enters his headspace as well:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
during the kage summit arc they go to another plane of existence to discuss their bond, where naruto's feelings towards sasuke clearly parallel hinata's feelings towards naruto during her Pein arc confession (which also raises another interesting point - because it's very telling that those particular words were the ones that were 'hidden' from the other characters):Ā
Tumblr media
again during vote2 it's just them, all outside interference stopped in its tracks. even kurama is asleep during sns' emotional reconciliation in 698.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when sasuke leaves the village in 699 he leaves kakashi and sakura behind at the gate much like he did when he left in part 1, when he was able to break off the bond he had with them that night. but it's naruto who comes to see him off outside the village (also reminiscent of part 1 - the one bond sasuke couldn't break). their separation is between them alone, as sasuke takes the headband which has become representative of their bond on his journey with him, keeping naruto close while he travels the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
basically kishimoto keeps others at a distance from witnessing and understanding naruto and sasuke's bond. it's a way to create distance between the other characters, because no other bond, no other relationship comes close to the one that naruto and sasuke have. and even at the end of the story this distance is maintained. it's visual storytelling to reinforce the written text.

Land of Waves Arc role swap AU
The rich, well connected business man commissions one of the big villages to destroy a half-made bridge. The villagers won't have the resources to recover before Gato can take care of the builder with simple hired muscle. Maybe an outright assassination mission is too expensive for his taste when he's had plenty of peasants killed by hired muscle before with no ninja needed.
The poor villagers trying to complete the bridge that will be their lifeline pool their money and can only afford proper protection from a high-level ninja if that ninja is a discounted missing-nin.
Ninja's are killers for hire give me baby Team 7 having to deal with being on an ugly mission that hurts people just because the wrong person had the right amount of money.
It's just a bridge, right? They just have to stick some explosive tags on the right spots.

Do you have any insights into how Sasuke changes his speech patterns towards Sakura throughout their relationship in the context of the original language? Particularly after they marry and have Sarada?
Unfortunately I have not watched a lot of Boruto, only clips here and there. I didn’t particularly care for the premise, and though I tried, it just wasn’t doing it for me. I have done a few lore studies on characters in it that interest me, but I haven’t actually watched very much of it. So at large, I’m probably not a good judge of their dynamic post-canon.
However, in the context of Shippuden, the language doesn’t really change a lot from Sasuke to Sakura; he just gets more sarcastic and rude in general, and that applies to Sakura too. (The only person he isn’t AS much of an ass to is Naruto. Sparingly. lol.)
BUT. Sakura does alter — albeit not the way you’d think.
In pt1, Sakura is pretty formal with Sasuke, in a girlish kind of way. She’s putting him on a pedestal as teenage girls are wont to do with their crushes, and that’s reflected in her speech as well, though she’s not actually that crazy about it; she doesn’t insist on calling him -san, for example, just -kun. For kids, that’s appropriate, and normal formality, which wouldn’t stand out so much if Naruto did the same thing— but he doesn’t, lol. First because he’s trying to be rude, then because he’s actually that close to Sasuke.
It’s one of the things that makes her interactions/feelings with him seem less genuine, in my opinion. Yes, it’s pretty ā€œnormalā€ for girls to insist on being polite with their crushes because they’re trying to impress them with the fawning, (which Sakura isn’t the only girl that over-emphasizes it like that, Ino does too. It’s a common anime/manga thing that insofar as I can tell doesn’t reflect reality so much.)
But ironically, when she addresses him in Shippuden, she drops most honorifics entirely. This, in my view, might have been one of the things to seriously annoy him about her while the team was trying to ā€œsaveā€ him after the 5 Kage summit. Mind, Sasuke has never really seemed to care how people address him, but it DOES come off a little bit…odd, considering how estranged they are at that point, that all of a sudden she’s ā€œacting so informalā€ about him, as if they’d been friends the whole time. It’s not entirely rude, per se, but it feels a little disingenuous, especially since she continues, periodically, to use -kun when addressing him in a bid to reinforce the shadow of what used to be there, I.e. her crush on him. Which doesn’t come across as very nice, or very genuine.
To be fair, although the comparison is a little flat, Naruto does still call Sakura -chan, during moments when he’s being cute or trying to make nice with her. It’s something you expect old friends to do. So she’s probably doing it for that reason more than anything — but it feels kinda fakey and hollow, because her actions don’t immediately match up with her words very much at all. Though I will honestly say that her trying to kill him some time afterwards is likely one of the reasons he decided to ā€œforgiveā€ her at all, inasmuch as that forgiveness was necessary, because in that moment she WAS trying to act genuinely as his friend, in Sasuke’s view. (and let’s not forget, he’s a very unreliable narrator) He respected her for putting her duty before her feelings for once. And yes, I’m sure I’ll get heat for mentioning Sasuke’s need to forgive Sakura, but I didn’t write their relationship like that lol.
So, no, there’s not a lot of change per se for Sakura specifically. He just gets a bit more disrespectful with his language while he’s in Mad With Grief Mode, and turns that on Sakura just as much as Kakashi and everyone else, Sans Naruto a bit. That’s not to say they don’t have different ā€œconversationsā€ there; Sasuke makes his annoyance at Sakura painfully , rudely obvious, whereas the attitude directed at Kakashi is more like a teenager arguing with their parent because they think they’re stupid. Which is on point, since Sasuke doesn’t know that Kakashi knew Itachi personally. So his ā€œpontificatingā€ about what Itachi might have wanted DOES come off a bit Patronizing and disrespectful, from his POV.
I know it’s not what you asked, but frankly it’s one of the big reasons I don’t understand people getting their feelings hurt about how much of an ass Sasuke is in that particular scene. Cause from Sasuke’s perspective, they’re the ones being disrespectful as hell — except Naruto, who actually addresses his feelings instead of trying to tell him he’s wrong for being angry. Which is what Kakashi’s argument comes off like, and Sakura inadvertently prioritizing her own feelings there draws attention away from his, which feels invalidating. So like, yes, he’s going to be a Pissy Teenager about it.
If I had to guess, though, from the handful of clips I’ve seen of them from Boruto, Sasuke seems to address his wife a little more formally than normal, but you have to account for the fact that that’s just how his own parents talked to each other; it’s a traditional sort of ā€œcasual formalityā€ that’s not seen much except in older or more traditional couples. Shikaku and Yoshino, Shikamaru’s parents, do the same thing, so it’s not too out of the ordinary. Sakura, from what I can tell, still just uses his name or -kun in a teasing-ish way. At a glance it makes them seem comfortable with each other, but still respectful in a way married couples are. But as I’ve not watched many of their interactions in Boruto, I can’t really speak on it at large.
Also, necessary caveat that I am still learning Japanese, so there’s quite possibly something I’ve missed or misunderstood in this, but that’s my understanding of it.
Thanks for the ask!
