TODAY ... THE DAY OF THE K-MODS DIRECTX11 UPDATE :)

Hello everyone :)

Here we are, after 2 weeks of intensive hard work :D we finally made most of our Sims 4 creations compliant with the pesky direct x11 update ...

As we thought, it has nothing to do with square or non square pictures ( maxis make non square pictures since the Sims 2 ) as we read around the web. So, do not waste your time with this point.

The difference between before the directX11 and after the directX11 is that now, strictly x2 multiple .dds are required.

Mainly, the minimum sizes of images in the Sims are 128 and/or 256 ( except thumbnails and some tiny specular which are smaller ) ...

Based on this, before the directX11, we could make images based on multiple of 128 and/or 256 such as 768x768 - 1536x1536 and so on, which was convenient to render a better image without growing too high in size/weight. It was a kinda suitable tolerance which is accepted by almost all games !

But now, every image which is not a perfect x2 multiple brings the famous question mark on it.

Curiously, this statement does not apply to ... Walls ! 256 base multiple is still working ( 256x768 - 256x1024 - 256x1280 ) Illogical as fuck but well ... here we are ;)

WHAT WE UPDATED TOO ...

We still didn't update the fences of the k-606. It will take some time. Be patient ;)

As we're currently updating our website, we re-organized the whole k-303 stuff which was a real deal :D But everything related to the k-303 is now direct x11 updated :) ( such as Willow Creek trolleys )

We corrected a few files too. Easier since we had to check so many files :D And we added some new stuff ( such as Outdoor Retreat small replacements )

This update changes everything for the ones who made the x11 update. It changes almost nothing for those who didn't make the x11 update. It just updates our files ;)

Everything is not yet over and finished. We just made the essentials.

Our walls are working fine ( except the thumbnails ... As we didn't make those thumbnails, we search the issue )

Many of our creations are ok. But not everything indeed. We didn't yet check everything. That's a job at work :) So, you know, if you notice something, send us a message. A detailed one of course ...

THE UPDATES WERE MADE POSSIBLE BECAUSE 2 FANTASTIC TESTERS WHO MADE THE DIRECT X11 UPDATE HELPED US. THEY WERE OUR EYES ON THIS PROJECT :)

ANOTHER CLICHÉ LOVE STORY

synopsis: the three times Minghao tried to buy you coffee, not cuz he thought you were cute or anything. At least that is what he told himself or; the one time you beat him to it pairing: xu minghao x gn!reader genre: fluff warnings: none w.c: 606 a/n: I'm sorry I like cliches a bit too much, requested by @haecien ♡

Minghao didn't even like coffee that much. He had always preferred tea over coffee. Yet here he was in line for the third time this week. It had become a routine, almost a ritual for him now. His eyes look across the room searching for something or someone. A sigh escapes his mouth when he sees you, tucked away in your favorite corner of the shop, nose buried in a book, occasionally stealing glances at the world outside the café's window.

He imagined what your voice must sound like, soft and melodious, with a hint of warmth that matched the gentle smile he often caught glimpses of. Or how your eyes would crinkle up when you laughed if they would light up with a spark of mischief or shine with genuine joy. "If you stared any longer, you'd burn a hole in them," Seungkwan teased, nudging him with a playful smirk.

"What no! I'm not staring at them. I'm looking at how beautiful the sky is" Minghao said trying to defend himself. "Yeah, the sky that's completely hidden by the thick fog," Dino said almost rolling his eyes at his friend. "If you're into them, you should try talking to them or something?" he suggested.

Minghao shook his head, thinking how could he like you when he had never even talked to you. Yes, you were the only person on his mind for days but that doesn't mean he likes you. Seungkwan leaned in, "You'll never know if you don't make a move. Just talk to them, man. Maybe buy them a coffee and see where it goes," he encouraged.

Minghao hesitantly approached the counter. He was so nervous that he stumbled over his words. "I'll pay for their coffee," he blurted out, only to be met with a confused look from the barista who informed him that you had already paid for yours.

The second time he tried to buy you coffee, he confidently approached the counter (with shaking legs). The barista grinned at him, "Your friend's coffee's on the house today. They're a regular."

Third time's the charm, right? Minghao certainly hoped so as he stood in line at the coffee shop once again. But just as he reached the front of the line, his phone buzzed insistently in his pocket. Minghao frowned, recognizing the number as his manager's. With a sinking feeling in his stomach, he answered the call, only to be met with urgent instructions to rush back immediately.

Minghao entered the café, scanning the familiar surroundings in search of you, his heart sinking as he failed to spot you anywhere. Disappointed, he turned to leave, resigned to try again another day. But just as he reached for the door handle, he froze in his tracks, his eyes widening in surprise as he saw you walking towards him. You held two cups of coffee in your hands, a warm smile gracing your lips as you approached him. "Hey...," you greeted him, offering one of the cups of coffee. "I am Y/N. I got you this. I hope you don't mind. I… uh, I thought you were cute and I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me?" Minghao's heart skipped a beat, his mind struggling to process the sudden turn of events. He stared at you in disbelief, a flush spreading across his cheeks as he tried to find the words to respond. "Y-yeah, I'd love to," he stammered, a shy smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I mean, yeah, that would be great."

Maybe that's how this was supposed to happen, one cup of coffee at a time.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST ... TOMARANG K-505 - K-101 - K-606

Hello everyone and of course Happy New Year :)

To begin 2024, let's start with something bold :D the ALL textures override of Tomarang ( 4 Rent expansion ) aka k-505 Terrain Mod ...

While some are experiencing new forms of torture with their Sims ( landlord harassing tenants or tenants harassing landlord ) and others are marveling on exotic or homy surroundings, we were wondering how to tackle Tomarang ...

Indeed, it is a nice place and we had a special spot for it since the first images. Urbanization thought differently. So many trees, so many corners to explore ! So, we tackled, nature, urban and roads of Tomarang. Details and textures. Also minor corrections to better up the world. Like the lotus flowers. Or the hidden temples. Well, they are not really hidden but they are quite far away and not accessible which is a loss for all of us. And all the Sims ! See people, that’s how Sims-story is forgotten, when you can’t access to cultural landmarks.

We also updated the Architek Mod ( k-606 ) and the Builder Mod ( k-101 ) : Tomarang’s roof are fully re-texturized and floors are partly re-texturized and available for your own build :) We left the tiled floors untouched until further notice ;) or not ... We rather think to make addendum for those ones :)

Well ... 250 files has been reworked, most of them in a Maxis match style. That's why we waited for this new year to release the k-Mods ...

the k-707 for Tomarang is not yet available .. Because it is next on the roadmap : we are working on trees - sometimes it feels like we are always saying this ?_? : what we are really working on is an overhaul of the k-707 Mod ... A HUGE ONE ... It is becoming nearly impossible to work properly and across all EP/GP. Expect something on that … sometimes soon. Because we really have to work the trees in a different order ... We'll talk about this

As not to burn ourselves, we’ll probably make some k-303 releases along the road ( such as our new Natural Clouds, for example ) And keep an eye on what’s cooking at EAxis …

Gosh ! 2024 is already a full of projects year ... And as already said, there are too the Sims 3 Worlds projects :D

Who is Cheikh Amadou Bamba?

Perhaps the most popular image in all of Senegal, is the portrait of Cheik Amadou Bamba (Paoletti, 2018). On our two week visit to Senegal between this May and June (2024), we witnessed his portrait across the city of Dakar especially on taxis, street walls, store walls, etc. He was a Sufi saint, poet, teacher and hero of the cultural resistance against the French colonial administration where he maintained an ‘unfazed’ approach as he continued inviting people to Allah, rather than struggling for independence. He had many names (Freedom Fighter of Senegal, Sergine Touba, wali Allah) and is widely remembered throughout Senegal and West Africa; a legacy that lives on through his family and followers (Seesemann, 2010). 

Bamba aimed to become a religious scholar and joined the Qadiriyya and Tijaniyya orders when he was young. In the 1880s, after his father's death, he became a local religious leader with a growing number of followers. Guided by a vision, he founded Touba, which would become the holy city of the Mourides. His community kept expanding, which made the French administrators nervous and see it as a threat. Despite Bamba repeatedly denying any plans for jihad, he was exiled to Gabon, where he stayed from 1895 to 1902 (Haikal, 2015). Amadou Bamba is remembered as a hero of anti-colonial resistance and a miracle worker who defied the French colonial government. He gave hope to impoverished people and former slaves, promoted the spread of Islam and the Muridiyya, and constantly wrote religious books and poetry, reportedly using seven tons of paper to produce 200 works and 222 additional Islamic poems (Haikal, 2015).  He lived from 1853 to 1927.
