Getting flowers for one anniversary? Very cutesy, very demure.
Getting flowers for the second anniversary? Okay, maybe still cutesy, a little less mindful.
Boy if you’re still getting me the same flowers for an anniversary by the tenth year, I’m calling my divorce lawyer.

All Is Forgiven | Tommy Shelby x Reader
Request: @runnning-outof-time
Summary: Tommy seeks comfort from Y/N after a job for Campbell results in the murder of an innocent man.
Content Warning: talks of violence, talks of murder.
Word Count: 1,002
A/N: Thank you to K for the request! This is my first imagine and I had a lot of fun thinking up this story, I hope it does Fluff! Tommy the justice he deserves <3
The house had been quieter than ever before, Shelby Company Limited was in full swing and you were left to your own devices while Tommy was out on business. He was always somewhere else, he left early and came home late. What bothered you the most was how distant you had become to him, he was never truly there anymore. You had heard stories from Polly about how he used to be, long before you had ever met Tommy, long before France. How his smile used to light up the room and how his laugh could be heard from miles away. You thought you were beginning to bring him back to life, to how things used to be. You accepted him long before you were wed, you knew what you were getting into.
The clock read a quarter past midnight, with nothing else left to do it was time for another drink. You moved towards the makeshift bar Tommy had installed in the living room, grabbed a glass from the wooden shelf, and poured the whiskey.
“To you Tommy” you mutter as you toast to the empty room.
Another night and another drink without him. You thought it odd that you were never invited to the Garrison for a drink with your husbands family. You had heard stories from Esme about how loud and rowdy the boys could get, Tommy always kept his composure. You wondered if he ever joined in on these nights without you. Whenever your absence at these family events was a topic of conversation, Tommy’s only excuse was that it was for your own good, as if being purposefully excluded was best for anyone. Esme went to family meetings, you didnt, that thought alone was enough to prickle your eyes with tears. Your spirits lifted however when you saw him. He had entered so quietly, you didnt hear his boots pound against the wooden floors. You were about to tell him how you felt about being left alone every hour of the day until you noticed there was something different about him. The way his eyes sunk into his face, how his head tilted slightly towards the floor, his shoulders slouched.
“Tom?” You spoke softly, gripping the arms of the chair and raising yourself up, walking over towards him. He brushed his fingers over his chin as if he were thinking hard about his next words.
“(Y/N) I need you” He murmured as he held his arms out for you, then wrapping them around your waist pulling you into him. In return you threw your arms up around his neck, kissing his cheek lightly. Holding him, you felt his muscles which were tensed seconds earlier loosen around you.
“The plans were wrong” He whispered defeatedly
“What plans Tom? What happened tonight?” you asked softly, you knew better than to ask such personal questions about his business, the business which he kept so closely to him and so far away from you. Tonight was different, the air drier, the walls around you closer, and the atmosphere heavier. You looked up at him, his face red and wet with tears.
“I killed a boy, a young boy- couldnt have been older than twenty. He wasnt supposed to be there, the plans were wrong we had the wrong man, Campbell told me it was the right place he said-” He recounted.
“Campell?” You interuppted “Inspector Campell? The copper sent from Mr. Churchill? I thought his business here was done?”
“He weasled his way back into my life like the rat he is, told me to go to this address at this time and kill a man that Mr. Churchill needs dead” He spoke rapidly “I did what he asked and now an innocent man is dead”
You brushed your fingers across his face wiping away his tears, you had seen him cry before albeit on very rare occasions but not like this, never like this. You felt your heart shatter for him, you knew your husband had killed before but it always had a purpose for the betterment of the family. This time was unlike any other you had seen before.
“Oh Tommy” you mutter, as he sobbed silently into your shoulder. “It will all be sorted out, this blood isnt on your hands, it’s on Campbells he must have sent you there on purpose, i’d kill him if I could”.
“I pulled the trigger (Y/N) not Campell, this is my fault” he sobbed
“He sent you out there, this is his fault darling not yours” you grabbed his hand
“I’m the devil (Y/N) you married the devil himself” he whimpered
“No, I married you, you are the strongest, smartest, and kindest man I know. Thats why I married you, thats why I love you. You have never made me think otherwise, and nothing, not even what happened tonight could change that”
You lead him over to the couch and sat him down, handing him a glass and pouring his favorite Irish Whiskey into it. “Drink this my love, this too shall pass, and tonight we will honor this man together, we will toast to him and you can let me take care of you Tom” you spoke gently, taking your seat next to him on the couch.
Tommy nodded, taking a swig of his whiskey and sinking down into the couch. You wrapped your arms around him, kissing him gently.
“I’d quite like that, i dont know what would come of me if I didnt have you my beautiful girl” he spoke, his eyes held less darkness than before.
“There wouldnt be a me without you, and with time you will be okay and I promise Tommy, you are forgiven” you smiled.
This was the first but not the last of many midnight conversations between you and Thomas, he stopped hiding things from you because he knew you could take it. He knew you would love him no matter what he did because you knew he did it all for you.

They didn't know we were seeds
chapter 23
cw: mentions of infant death by natural causes, disability caused by injury, past sexual assault, abuse of power.
taglist @justrainandcoffee @emotionalcadaver @peakyswritings
Despite the new armor the Peacekeepers sport and the tighter restrictions, things had returned to what could almost pass as normal.
Eva continues her businesses, her cousins go unbothered by Campbell and his men and, despite the alarming rise in public floggings and the blatant abuse of power, there is no proof Eva is involved in any rebel activity.
But the Inspector, now Major, has not given up.
The Shelbys have taken their sweet time taking care of the pig, the victory tour is set to start soon, and the man is still six feet above ground.
“Your son takes after his father; in ten years they will be betting how well his genetics help in the arena.” Campbell is waiting for her in the only café that can cater to him. He wrinkles his nose at the aromas of a typical 10 foods, the rich foods that are the norm here deemed disgusting for those with weaker palates like Chester Campbell.
“That is still a long time from now, a lot could change by then.” Because if it doesn’t, we’ll all be dead anyways.
“Your status as Victor won’t keep him from the reaping bowl. Your kind has grown confident that winning a game will save them from justice.” The man speaks and Eva feels her skin crawl.
Your kind. He was of the same cloth Evertt and all those monsters were.
No wonder Jack feared the man. Who knows what things Campbell did when he was in Two,
“I never said I could save him from the reaping bowl with my status.” Eva drinks her coffee with feigned calmness as she reminds him what sort of dangers a district already has. “Who is to say Laurie won’t die in an accident or illness, or become disabled? Just yesterday a newborn girl died eaten by ants when they crept inside her Panem-issued formula, a week ago a twelve-year-old boy fell into the canals playing with frogs and now he can’t even walk or collect tesserae. The world is filled with perils, sir.”
“Laws state a Peacekeeper can remove children who are in danger from her own parents, I would hate to see them take your little boy from you because you’ve gone insane, Miss. Smith.” The man sits there thinking she’d go as far as hurting and killing her son to keep him from the games.
Good. It means that he and his superiors will think she is desperate enough to agree to anything for Laurie’s sake.
Eva doesn’t care if Campbell acts on his suspicions, she just needs him to file that report and send it straight to Snow.
“Have you seen the white roses in my front lawn, Major?” the woman hides her smile as the man nods knowing they were a gift from Snow. The Victor has made sure everyone and their dog knows it, shown how loyal she is to him and his freak show by proudly displaying them for everyone to see.
“President Snow gave me the first one. A lovely white damask rose with a strong smell that lasts almost three times as long as the average ones, didn’t take long to grow roots under my care and now I have three bushes.” Eva grows bold enough to take one of the colorful little pastries the good major has left untouched and picking a piece off it breaking all those rules she was taught by her aunt and later Clemens. “Anyways, he had cut it from its branch because the acidity in the soil gave it a pink tone and its defect ruined the scene. The rose was a warning of what he does to those who rebel against him, and if you remember my games, you will remember that I won due to my cunning and not strength or skill with a weapon. Those roses I care for so much are my way of assuring President Snow I know my limits and will not cross them.
I am not Katniss nor Peeta, in fact, if those two could be more like me, we wouldn’t be in this mess and the rules wouldn’t have changed after seventy-four years.”
“Then why do you and Mr. Nelson meet in secret at your farm? Did you really believe I don’t know he comes here disguised as a Peacekeeper?” the man shows the card he’d hidden under his sleeve and if falls like ice down her back.
They knew. They knew! THEY KNEW!
It takes Eva’s all to keep the mask from breaking.
Who? Had Laurie told the wrong person? No, she knew his teachers would have warned her. Her farmhands who’d seen a man leave some mornings. No, they assumed he was a married man from town.
Who?
“One or two raids and the two of you would be dead, your families reduced to avoxes and your sweet little son in a home waiting for his twelfth birthday so he can join the two of you in death.” The man smiles as if he had delivered her the best of news. “All because his father stole an identity of a dead man.”
They had to kill him. If Shelby didn’t fucking do it, then Eva would.
When Eva calls, it is always when Jack is home from work and at once Atia’s son would then lock himself in his bedroom with the house phone for privacy.
This time Atia is alone, having a relaxing spa day on her day off. She’d done the things she needed at work, sent the latest developments in the new line of bombers Snow’s Minister of Defense had approved and received instructions on how to make the prototype of a disruptor for the fences’ electrical system.
Atia Nelson once trained to become a pilot, only an incident at a training camp put an end to that and sent her down the path of aeronautical engineering. Had she never fucked around with her roommate and a young man from the northern villages, the redhead wouldn’t have found her true calling nor had her three children. And now her expertise served a greater purpose: avenging Laurie and Gina.
“Jack isn’t home.” Atia says thinking it’s one of those days where Eva calls to have a private moment with her husband.
“They know.”
They know.
It made sense now, why Jack was never caught, why it was all too easy these years. Shelby may have thought himself safe, but no one is. They never have been.
“Who?” not who betrayed them, but who holds this information.
“Campbell. He’s threatened to raid the farm and take Laurie from me.”
Jack had warned her, kept her here and going alone to visit his family to keep her from getting caught in Campbell’s crosshairs.
But it had still happened and now they couldn’t wait for Shelby and his people to kill the pig. Things since the last games and the Victory Tour had become worse and would only get worse until it finally ends.
And because of that, the three of them cannot afford to wait any longer.
The memory of his hands on her, in her, as he used her knowing she’d do anything for her children still sickens her these days. She feels as helpless as then and fears what he would do to Eva, to their families, to Laurie whose only crime was to be born to people from different districts.
“Here’s what we’ll do.”
The prototype would be functional in less than an hour, she could try it out before the week is up and if not, she knows enough about these fences to know a pair of jump cables, gloves and the rubber handled wire cutters in the tool box did the job just as good.
Jack would be the bait; Laurie would be safely kept in Eva’s home with her aunt and Atia will show the man Jack’s skills didn’t just come from his sperm donor. She was great with a whip even now.
She’s never killed a soul, but lucky for her, Chester Campbell doesn’t have one.
The first test failed, but with all the adjustments Atia has made to it after has it work like a charm. Jack leaves as Sejanus Smith and not Sulla Felix knowing his old badge would set the dogs after him.
Her son hesitates when she tells him she will be using Beetee’s device to reach the farm alone.
“Don’t worry about your mama, little rabbit.” She assures him as she helps him don the riot gear and kissed the top of his head just as she always did when he was scared. Her grown-up son still as scared as he was that day he was taken to the juvenile correctional facility. “Once its over, it will be over for good.”

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 – Recap
Callen found out everything about his past including the guy who brutally abused him as a child is actually a pretty OK person because he suggested Sam as a possible partner (please don’t slip on the puddle of sarcasm – safety first!). Sam was being primed to talk over the Hetty/Temporary Nell/Kilbride position. Deeks and Detective Whiting are in a good place. Fatima saved a Naval officer from a forced marriage. Kilbride was a Simon Williams.
With the casts’ limited work schedules, there were some interesting pairings with Kensi and Fatima, Sam and Deeks being favorites. Callen, Sam and Deeks worked on a task force together, leaving Kensi to work with Lance Hamilton and Vostanik Sabatino on a case. Callen joined Sam on a taskforce leaving Deeks to be Swedish nobility to save Arkady.
As for family, Callen married Anna and I guess got Arkady in the deal. Sam was all family this season as he dealt with Raymond’s condition and Aiden’s near death experience while reminded Kam that he loves her for who she is. Kensi got to be a good Mom to Rosa before learning she was becoming a mother again. Deeks had Dad-Jokes for days and a conversation with Bertie about their past together. Fatima tried to figure out if Akhil is Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now. Rountree rekindled a relationship with FBI Agent Summer Morehurst, who he dated in the FBI. Rountree and his sister Jordyn got some money but not a lot of justice from the LAPD. Kilbride had some time with his ex-wife before visiting his troubled son in San Francisco.
The OSP worked with the NCIS teams from Washington and Los Angeles, the CIA, FBI, ATF, US Marshal’s Service and LAPD. There was Daisy the NCIS Cold Case Agent who should have joined the show in season eight or nine. Nina Barnes also would have been a delightful addition several seasons ago.
There were return appearances from Arkady and Anna Kolchek, Raymond, Aiden, Kam, Roberta Deeks, Rosa Reyes, Akhil Ali, Jordyn Rountree, Shyla Dahr, Nate Getz, Nina Barnes, Lisa Rand, Lance Hamilton, Ellen Whiting, Vostanik Sabatino, Pembrook, Leah Novak, Tom Olsen and those awful Body Stitchers people.
Agent Campbell was ‘this close’ to be a regular (and maybe getting a first name like Callen). Nell was a delightful surprise at the end of the show’s run. I’d like video of Eric’s TED Talk.
Trips included Callen to San Diego, Kensi to Utah, Kensi and Fatima to the US Allegiance, Kilbride in San Francisco, Callen and Sam to Washington DC, Sam was kidnapped to Hawai’i with Callen showing up in the Aloha State to help rescue him. Deeks passed on a trip to Costa Rica as part of being a good husband so Rountree went instead. Callen put off his honeymoon in Greece to go Hetty hunting with Sam, Nate, Sabatino and the New Guy in Morocco.
Three best episodes: “Glory of the Sea” “Flesh and Blood” “New Beginnings Part II”
Worst episodes: All the Drona drama.
Most frustrating episode: “Body Stitchers” – while I’ll happily admit that “The Monster” isn’t my “go to episode when I want to have a good mind cleansing hour, that was a tense, well done hour. When I saw they were bringing them back, I thought we’d have a tense, well done hour where the bad guys (and gal) got caught. Instead, there were new baddies including a government weirdo in a bad tie. When a show is in season 14, it’s time to start wrapping up storylines, not introducing new ones. ---
I missed the show since it ended. I like The Equalizer, like Tracker, the new Watson series with Morris Chestnut looks right up my alley but I miss the program on Sundays (and Tuesdays and Mondays). It was a fun run.

❂ jolene mcgowan was a metalsmith, by trade, she created beautiful jewellery by smelting gold and silver, set with precious stones and shards of sea glass she collected near her home in the coastal town of cherryfield, maine. she crafted beautiful blooms with leaves which would never wilt, never die, blew glass, she mended timepieces, clocks and pocket watches with deft and reverent hands. these are the soft calloused palms that hephaestus fell hopelessly into; warm and welcoming and good-humoured.
❂ 1943 dawned, rough and unkind as she fought with her family to protect the identity of the father of her baby, born out of wedlock in a small town. the little boy would never make it over the brow of the hill in long island, halfway through massachusetts he falls.
❂ she didn't learn the lesson, though she was stripped of some of the light that drew the god to her in the first place, they reunited yet again and another child was to be born from the glint in their eyes.
❂ red hair and green eyes like her mother, billie is full of fight from the minute she stretches her mouth open and begins to scream, her mother joking that she always had something to say ever since.
❂ wilhelmina, a mouthful for such a small child and even harder to spell, shortened to mina and then through protest changed to will, then to billie.
❂ billie watched her mother hollow out before her very eyes, harden herself to the inevitability of her daughter's demise. if jolene drew back far enough, fast enough, she wouldn't be hurt when the gods didn't favour her offspring once again. wilhelmina yearned for attention, to feel that warmth fall over her once more but instead, she struck out, becoming a problem.
❂ this rejection seared her edges, though the fall from her mother's graces wasn't as far or as fast as her father's fall from olympus, she vowed to herself to always stand up for what she believed in, no matter the personal cost. cowards irk her, though of course, the greek doesn't fall far from the tree, she can be a hypocrite.
❂ billie was a constant flight risk, disappearing for days at a time on a whim but the concern their family felt ebbed, even when they started to see things, when inexplicable things began happening to them.
❂ it took a year and a half to make it to camp half blood, billie never running with crowds long enough for satyrs to catch hold of her. disappearing like smoke between their fingers. billie has some pretty extensive scarring over most of her body from her years on the run but spite is a powerful motivator, the fire she draws from within helped her survive and still does. (might have some collateral damage from this use of flame, she tries not to think about it.)
❂ strode into camp with their head held high, and attacked every part of training with unwavering tenacity no matter how many times they were knocked down. not the most naturally skilled fighter but she makes up for it in spades with ferocity, dogged relentlessness and sheer power. billie never knows when to stay down.
❂ is often caught intercepting tourists and mortals by yelling extremely creative obscenities and insults at them, it gets them to leave, at least she stopped draping her hair over her face and running at them screaming in tongues when chiron asked nicely.
❂ the chip on billie's shoulder is big, anyone who knows her can see it but she's filled in the cracks with liquid gold and moves with the hurt. her word is her bond and though trickery is almost a sure shot, she'll never let you forget that you're a liar and you'll be paying until your final breath. billie hates bullies.
❂ an excellent craftsman and smith, billie will usually help anyone with the forges if they ask, for several years refused to partake in her cabin and father's vocation out of pettiness but now loves the way it takes her out of her head to bear something new into the world.
❂ pinball champion, has never worn a matching pair of socks in her life, feeds the raccoons around camp, used to be a state champion gymnast, will fire-eat and fire dance for special occasions like her friends' birthdays, can remember all the lyrics to any song she hears and hoards music like gold, spends a ridiculous amount of time and money on taking polaroids and buying film, will burn your monopoly board, drums on every nearby surface at all times, accidentally burns things to a crisp when she sneezes, can and will nap absolutely anywhere it's kind of ridiculous.

Piers Morgan will find many ways to deny phone hacking – but how long before his number is up?
Archie Bland
Following a judge’s ruling in favour of Prince Harry, the former Daily Mirror editor’s confected outrage is starting to look a little desperate
Mon 18 Dec 2023 14.15 GMT
So how much, exactly, did Piers Morgan know about phone hacking when he was editor of the Daily Mirror? It depends when you ask him. And since he edited the newspaper for nine years when hacking was at its zenith, and since other people similarly accused have spent time in prison, this seems important for reasons that do not depend on your feelings about Prince Harry.
On Friday, for example, Morgan had a simple line for reporters gathered outside his house. Perhaps his thinking had been clarified by the unfortunate news that a judge ruling on claims from Harry and others had found that there had been extensive hacking going on at the Daily Mirror, and that there was no doubt Morgan knew about it. Similar evidence has been presented to the Leveson inquiry and in previous litigation, but never as extensively or with such a powerful endorsement from a judge as this. But it’s all nonsense, Morgan sputtered, who would do such a thing? “I’ve never hacked a phone, or told anybody else to hack a phone,” he said. Simple.
As he also said, this is a line he’s maintained for a long time. You would be amazed at how carefully he has maintained it. He used exactly the same words to the BBC in September. He used exactly the same words to the BBC in May. He used exactly the same words on Twitter (now X) in 2015. He used exactly the same words to the Guardian in 2014. He used exactly the same words on CNN in 2011. Ask Piers Morgan what his favourite biscuit is at any point in the last 15 years and the response is likely to have been that he never hacked a phone, and he never told anyone else to, either.
If you view the narrow precision of Morgan’s repetition as interesting, you will probably go looking for other things he’s said about phone hacking. And you will find a laundry list of public statements from a bygone era that don’t exactly contradict his later recitations, but do cast them in a different light. In 2003, he told Charlotte Church that she should change the security number on her phone to stop reporters from accessing her voicemails. In 2006, he wrote that he had been “played a tape of a message Paul [McCartney] had left for Heather [Mills] on her mobile phone”. In 2007, he told Press Gazette that hacking was “an investigative practice that everyone knows was going on”.
What are we to make of this change of emphasis? If we take him at his word, we will have to conclude that Morgan knew absolutely loads about phone hacking, but had absolutely nothing to do with commissioning it. You might wonder if there was any need to tell the voicemail interception specialists used by the Mirror to hack a phone, and reflect that when you get the plumber round because your sink is blocked, you don’t need to encourage them to bring a plunger.
Alastair Campbell at Hay festival, Hay on Wye, UK, May 2018
‘Alastair Campbell gave ‘compelling evidence’ pointing to illegal techniques being used by the Mirror’s agents to obtain details of his mortgage.’ Photograph: Steven May/Alamy
The thing is, Mr Justice Fancourt didn’t take him at his word, and went to great lengths to explain why.
In rejecting the judge’s 386-page ruling, Morgan dwelled on the evidence of Omid Scobie, who was once an intern at the Mirror. Scobie said that he had heard Morgan being told that a story about Kylie Minogue was sourced from a voicemail. Morgan said Scobie was a “deluded fantasist”. As for Alastair Campbell, who, according to the judge, gave “compelling evidence” pointing to illegal techniques being used by the Mirror’s agents to obtain details of his mortgage: he is “another proven liar who spun this country into an illegal war”.
Now, you might not trust Scobie or Campbell. But what Morgan left out is that Scobie’s story fits precisely with invoices, numbers on a Mirror reporter’s phone, and a matching article about Minogue bylined to someone the judge described as “a known phone hacker”. Campbell’s claims, meanwhile, are lent considerable weight by the fact that the Mirror had just used the same private investigators to do exactly the same thing to Peter Mandelson. The corroboration for Morgan’s claim of innocence, on the other hand, is simply that he keeps making it.
Set Scobie and Campbell aside, if you think they have sold the judge a pup. Perhaps because it was cold outside, Morgan didn’t find time in his doorstep speech to critique the rest of the evidence cited in the judgment.
Melanie Cantor, an agent and publicist, said that Morgan “always seemed to be the first person to know about events that had recently happened” involving her clients, and that invoices and phone records demonstrated that she had been repeatedly hacked by the Mirror’s reporters. The judge concluded that “sensitive information … was passed to Mr Morgan, who must have known how it had been obtained”.
Benjamin Wegg-Prosser, the head of strategic communications at Downing Street under Tony Blair, said that Morgan had explained to him how hacking had been used to get a story about Ulrika Jonsson’s affair with Sven-Göran Eriksson. And David Seymour, the Mirror’s political editor, said that he had watched Morgan playing that McCartney voicemail to a group of reporters. Morgan, he added, was “unreliable and boastful [and] apt to tell untruths when it suited him”. The judge said he accepted Seymour’s evidence “without hesitation”.
Those are just the human sources. The judge also drew on mountains of invoices, emails and phone records. Still, Morgan had another card to play, another that he turns to quite a lot: an enthusiastic swing at the motivations of Prince Harry, who he said was on a mission with his wife, Meghan, to “destroy the British monarchy”.
If that is the purpose of Harry’s exhaustive legal crusade against the Mirror, the Daily Mail, and the Sun, it seems an odd way of going about it. But hacking has never just been about Harry. Even on Friday, there were three other claimants. The wider litigation involved more than 100 others.
Hacking was certainly not just about Morgan, either. But his confected outrage as the evidence against him mounts does give a sense of how we can expect the story to continue from here.
The financial consequences are instructive, too. Harry won £141,000 in damages; another claimant won £32,000; another two didn’t get a penny, because their claims were made too late. Morgan will not have to pay any of it. Meanwhile, he is under contract at Rupert Murdoch’s TalkTV and the Sun, on a deal reportedly worth about £50m. Both outlets would have had ample evidence to suggest his involvement in hacking before this case even began, and neither has shown any signs of abandoning their man, who never hacked a phone, and never told anyone else to.

ANOTHER AU!? I know what you're saying... Gwen, you're nuts. But not only are you absolutely right, I think this one might be my most ambitious one yet. As a young nerd, there were two groups. The Marvel fans and the DC fans. And while the rivalry certainly has calmed down a bit, I was almost always torn. So, earlier in the week, I decided to do the one thing that every fanfic writer has tried at least once.
A Marvel/DC crossover.
But unlike the typical realm merger, to put it in Mortal Kombat terms, this is a universe where both properties coexist. For example, picture a group of people walking to a Big Belly Burger while listening to Just the Facts with J. Jonah Jameson. That's just a fraction. I have an ENTIRE starting cast as well.
Welcome... to Earth-812
JUSTICE LEAGUE
Bruce Wayne/Batman (Alex Organ/Edward Bosco)
Clark Kent/Superman (Talon Warburton)
Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Grey DeLisle)
Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk (Sean Chiplock/Lou Ferrigno)

Antoinette Stark/Iron Man (Erica Lindbeck/Andrew Bowen)
Steve Rogers/Captain America (Roger Craig Smith)
TEEN TITANS

"Convict Shot Dead In Break Attempt," Winnipeg Tribune. October 27, 1943. Page 1 & 4. --- JOHN Ashton "Pat" Barnett, serving a 20-year term at Stony Mountain penitentiary, was killed Tuesday night in an exchange of shots with a guard named Ferguson after he had got out of his cell and was trying to make his escape through the cell-yard.
Prison authorities today would make no comment on the shooting. Warden Alex H. Campbell said he was making a report to Ottawa and whatever statement was made would have to come from the department.
Barnett was sentenced to 20 years on Oct. 15, 1940, after a trial in Winnipeg in connection with the death of Const. John McDonald, of the city police force. Const. McDonald was shot while Barnett and two others were attempting to rob the Radio building.
Barnett made his breakout attempt about 6 p.m., Tuesday. In some way he had got out of his cell and was in possession of a gun. There is no information on how he got it. As soon as he got out he encountered Ferguson in the prison corridor, pulled the gun on him, and demanded that he hand over the keys to unlock the door to the cell yard.
From Information obtained outside of the prison authorities, it is claimed Ferguson handed over the key. Barnett is said to have fired the gun, and Ferguson returned the fire. The convict was killed almost instantly.
Dr. T. Evelin, provincial coroner, will hold an inquest at Stony Mountain tonight.
The crime for which Barnett was sentenced occurred in Winnipeg on Feb. 10, 1940, He and John Andrusiak and "Mike the Horse" Attamanchuk broke into the Radio building and made their escape while police were attempting to arrest them in the building. In the melee Constable McDonald was shot and killed.
The principal suspect in connection with the killing was Attamanchuk. Barnett and Andrusiak were picked up and held on coroner's warrants shortly after, but police continued the search for Attaman- chuk, believing he was the key man in the shooting.
Three days after, Attamanchuk was located in a hide-out in the Brant block on Logan ave. While police were attempting to force open the door of the suite where he was hiding he put a bullet through his heart and died almost instantly.
Murder charges were laid against both Barnett and Andrusiak.
A jury verdict for acquittal was directed by Mr. Justice Robson, the trial judge. The Crown laid new charges against both men as being accessories after the fact to Const. McDonald's murder. Both pleaded guilty and each was sentenced to 20 years.
Andrusiak is serving his term in Stony Mountain.

Rose at 1. Captain M’Dowell called before I had breakfasted. Walked with him to Leith. The docks. Engaged to dine with him on Friday. On return, found cards of Baron Norton and Colonel Smith. Note to Dr. Home to inform M'lle Brown of the address of Miss M’Pherson, and asking for Ashe’s “Travels.” Read two hours in Ashe¹. Full of lies. kissing your lover lazily first thing in the morning . (you know 😎)
♕ kiss & tell . not accepting
Eirene had never been one to give sunrise much attention - it wasn't her favorite part of the day and rising early meant only that a full day was ahead of her. The businesswoman felt more at ease during sunset or the late hours of night - many deals had been closed and celebrated at such moments, and the cover of the black sky and the bright stars was strangely comforting.
The same colors of a chessboard - it felt like home, as if everything was following their exact path as she had predicted them to do.
But now, with the warm rays of sunshine coming through the curtains that they hadn't bothered to fully close during the previous night, it offered Eirene a new perspective. The regal suite that they occupied change little by little, patches of sunlight on the carpeted floor growing larger and advancing inwards until they claimed bits of the luxurious mattress, going on and on to eventually fall onto their creamy, perfect skin. The trademark of those who supposedly led easy lives in Eastside - perhaps true for Nathaniel and his exclusive upbringing, less for for a foreigner like Eirene.
(But almost no one would be able to tell that she had bled and suffered for Bryce Campbell; the woman looked every bit the ice queen she projected to the masses, untouchable and professional.)
Except that it was just an image - one that had been slowly chipped at and melted before the lawyer sharing the bed with her. Eirene had felt her heart going through the same motions as their suite: a black, dark place which was eventually conquered by light - his light. A romantic idea before the eyes of most, surely, but that wasn't what the businesswoman meant - she didn't see Mr. Fox as some sort of pure source of illumination to cleanse her sins and purify the woman in his arms.
Eirene viewed him as the yang to her yin; the other scale of the balance symbolizing the justice; the charm of the spoken word where she had the power of hard cash; a king of the courts to a queen of the boardrooms.
The Campbell heiress was not looking for absolution with him - Nathaniel was just another part of her, one that perhaps had been there for the longest time without either of them realizing it, and now it would be impossible to break them apart. They had been powerful on their own once, respected figures in their professional fields of expertise. Together, however - they were unstoppable.
Above monarchs - more like gods.
As the lawyer stirred, Eirene moved at his side - just enough to find some leverage to use her folded arm to gain a better angle and gaze at him while his consciousness returned and his eyes reacquired their usual sharpness and wit. Bicolored irises blinked in return, a myriad of emotions reflected there without the woman saying anything - she didn't need to, really.
Instead, the businesswoman leaned forward, partially crawling over him and uncaring for how the bedsheets slipped off her frame as she did so. Their lips met and there was no trace of make-up anymore, of the jewelry that adorned them save for the one piercing his tongue, no lingering concern for their appearances to the outside world. There were just the two of them and that hotel room and it was all that mattered.
"Good morning," she murmured upon parting from that greeting, but not much - Eirene quite enjoyed the way their breathing mingled, and how the soft movement of his chest became hers too, moving the president of Quinn gently as she nestled atop Nathaniel, "Or should I say good morning, my dear husband," a small, mischievous grin followed, "Did you sleep well?"
#♔ answered . this is my move#svnsworn#v: checkmate (or is it)#soooo yeah this happened#Eirene is AWAKE#and POSSESSIVE#good luck with the 'until death do you part' thing Nathaniel

Reviewing Great Work: Denny Ja created a new version of Andy Warhol's painting
A work of art can touch the heart and mind at once. Not infrequently a work of art can take the theme of other works of art. As did Denny JA, a businessman, artist, and social activist who created a new version of Andy Warhol's iconic painting. Denny JA is a talent artist and his skills cannot be doubted. He saw the works of art not only as inanimate objects, but as a means to raise awareness and express human feelings. Therefore, he continues to explore various types of art and does not feel awkward to combine traditional arts with modern art. One of his latest art works is a painting titled "New Version of Warhol". Denny JA explores the style of Pop Art Warhol paintings and combines it with Indonesian local cultural elements such as batik and puppets. Warhol paintings generally feature famous figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Campbell Soup Cans. However, Denny Ja chose iconic Indonesian figures such as R.A. Kartini, Bung Tomo, and Mrs. Sud. This Denny Ja artwork contributes added value to the world of Indonesian art. He shows that art does not have to be separated from local culture and history. Instead, artists must be able to penetrate these boundaries and create something unique and different. Behind this amazing artwork, Denny Ja has a message full of meaning. He wants to invite visitors to reflect on human values such as justice, courage, and equality. According to him, everyone must continue to struggle to achieve their goals and not stop at one point. Denny Ja art is included in the contemporary art category. Contemporary art is an art that has many variations in the form, material, and ideas used. There are no definite rules in contemporary art, so that artists are free to create and innovate according to their wishes. Contemporary art has a big impact on social and political change in Indonesia. According to Denny Ja, contemporary arts must be able to present messages that not only build social values, but are also able to vary the media and techniques used. This will provide a different visual experience of previous works. With this latest artwork, Denny Ja proves that art is the right way to communicate important messages to the public. Good works of art are able to steal attention and inspire, so that they can move the heart and mind at once. Through contemporary art, Denny Ja has succeeded in combining elements of local and modern culture, creating something unique and different. Denny Ja continues to create high -quality artwork, which not only provides added value to the Indonesian art world, but also makes an important contribution to the people of Indonesia.

Cherie Blair uses no-win, no-fee deal for libel prosecution despite her six-figure income - Graham Atkins Solicitor
No-win, no-fee: Cherie Blair is using a deal normally provided for those who cannot afford to pursue litigation
But Cherie Blair is using a no-win no-fee deal with her lawyers to sue a Sunday newspaper for libel, it has emerged.
Conditional fee agreements, according to the Ministry of Justice website, are to provide "access to justice for those who could not afford to pursue litigation and who are not eligible for public funding."
Graham Atkins Solicitor
Yet, despite the substantial family fortune, Mrs Blair now joins the ranks of Naomi Campbell and Sharon Stone in taking advantage of the sometimes controversial CFA scheme.
The no-win no-fee arrangement enables people to take legal action knowing they won't have to pay their lawyers' costs if they lose.
Their lawyers risk working for nothing, but if they win their legal team can charge the losing side a "success fee" up to 100 per cent extra on top of their normal rates to compensate them for the risk of failure.
Mrs Blair is suing the News of the World following an article in January that claimed she was engaged in a "secret feud" with Gordon Brown's wife, Sarah. She is complaining about the story, which was printed under the headline: "War of silence: Cherie's secret feud with PM's Sarah". Read more----->>>>>
