the thing is, at the beginning of star rail we had a massive leak of future characters including even some from penacony. and dr. ratio was there as well, so they had many characters prepared even before the release. but planning out worlds must’ve been done earlier than that, even if actual modelling and level designing comes later. by the time of dr. ratio’s banner back in 1.6 they had to have penacony fully completed and already working on amphoreus because it’s just a safe assumption they’re always at least a year in advance (i would bet on even more).

and it’s just SO funny to think that they made that one completely random dude who didn’t fit aesthetic-wise to any of the available worlds or the characters but from their perspective, he looked like a copy-paste of what they’d been working on behind the scenes around the same time. and then not mention him even once (not even acknowledging his existence) when introducing the new world officially asdfghjkl

Self destructive pandora where Mary has the "i can fix her" mentality and literally nobody knows why Mary who can have a pick of anyone she wants, would go for pandora who's pretty fucking batshit and insane and shit and as the relationship progresses you can SEE mary lose her spark and personality and she stops smiling but in the meanwhile pandora keeps sending her messages w shit like "do you acc love me?" And "im so stupid andd annoying ik" the latter she sends almost exclusively after any argument they ever have and anytime they're together they don't even have normal fucking conversations bc pandora keeps interuppting Mary or leaving her on read in the middle of a convo for 3 wks and Mary loves pandora sm and so does pandora but pandora never expresses it properly s so it ends up taxing on mary bc she hates seeing someone she loves self destruct like this and it's taxing on pandora bc "damn specimen 437 is starting to get boring time to move on!!!" And occasional bouts of self doubt where pandora hates herself for ruining this perf human being which just feeds into the cycle

It can also be the other way around (personal fave) where mary is younger than pandora and it starts out like a normal relationship and then mary keeps doing shit on purpose like "oh sorry i kissed that guy at the bar ! I just got rlly drunk...you know how it is" and she leans into pandora and pandora gets distracted and forgets it till the next time where the cycle continues but mary is rlly protective of pandora like if any1 treated her the way she does its over for them and pandora know it's toxic but she continues eventually mary just ghosts her lol

3rd version (secret ending) they're both batshit.

I feel like in a magic au it would be the same except it'd happen aft3r they graduate and it's the interlude bn them graduating and oct 31. Mary finds pandoras shop and hits her up and they hook up and pandora doesn't want to participate in the war and neither does Mary not rlly and so they bond after that and Mary learns pandora is married but doesn't care and she knows pandora does illegal spells and that could kill her but she doesn't care so she even comes and watches and pandora tries her spells on mary and most leave mary hurt but it's ok bc it makes pandora happy when her spell works and then james and lily die and mary obliviztes herself and they never meet again
