most space rabbits are these neutral, earthy colors with at least Some Faint Sort of Pattern (usually that which are leftover from childhood). In my next post ill show some uncommon coats as well!

I just realized I never posted photos of this really pretty harvestman i came across a while back. Note the green pedipalps and the dark and light spots on its back.

every time I see a non-elezen player describe duskwights as primarily defined by having dark skin, I kind of wince
because no actually, not every elezen with a dark skin color is a duskwight! carvallain and jannequinard are wildwoods! marcechamp, from tailfeather? wildwood. lucianne from the archers guild? wildwood.
and sure, there are a couple of prominent duskwight characters with darker skin- grinnaux (who is technically a modified wildwood with the duskwight version of face 1’s scars) and foulques. but. it’s a weird misconception to have when characters like liavinne, shale, jandelaine, mother miounne, and ysayle exist.
and when the character creation can be accessed by anyone to check this. the only playable race in ffxiv that is divided into clans with dark and light skin colors is viera. elezen have the same range of options as miqo’te! but somehow I never see keepers of the moon described as being distinct from seekers in terms of skin color in the same way as elezen.
#ffxiv#elezen#it just bothers me to see this weird misconception#because it feels rooted in weird mainstream racism about how elves can be portrayed#you don’t actually have to perpetuate that#you don’t have to repeat the idea that by default elves are pale#and that dark elves are when elves are brown#because quite honestly that’s terrible and not even something ffxiv perpetuates#this is all to say it’s strange to say Elvaan are similar to duskwights#they have default warm brown skin. which isn’t very duskwight at all.#like if you’re going to touch on that at least bring up Taznavia#which IS a predecessor to Gelmorra narratively in some ways

I’m reading Witch King by Martha Wells, and now that I have read more than one (1) series by this author, I have been suddenly brained with a two-by-four sharpied over with “realizing that I really enjoy novels by Martha Wells because they live in the specific niche created by the intersection of casually and thoroughly queer casts and non-romance storylines”
I am as ever a sucker for non-human main characters struggling with their very human feelings, which is why I jumped on Witch King the moment I saw “the author of Murderbot wrote another book with a main character that’s non-human,” but I live in this dichotomy where I can really enjoy reading queer romances but I don’t really identify with non-ace characters (which is not actually something I figured out how to differentiate until I was Last Week Years Old). so there are lots of books out there that I enjoy reading but it’s comparatively rare for me to read something that feels like it was written For Me and Martha Wells does that very well
anyway, give me more ace it-pronouns human-spliced robot main characters and people-eating demons who consider rank over gender when finding new bodies to inhabit

Looking back at my first drafts of some designs for the iliad characters makes me realize that either I’ve changed them way more than I realized or they’re completely the same

i was gonna post jeor mormont but idk i'm nervous for Northern Fancast Posting because I would say My Vision Of Northern Coloring is like, idk, it makes sense to me? idk about everyone else.
#getting on my soap box#like they say 'northern coloring' but they're vague about what that means.#but it's something people easily clock yet no northerner is mixed up with say a dornish person#i would think there's some variations as well like with the dornish depending on where you live#and note that theon is described as a 'dark' youth so also likely distinct from essosi & iron islands coloring as well#i imagine like. a sort of grey undertone to very light brown skin basically.#whereas dorne is largely warm undertones with usually darker brown skin#and the iron islands varies a lot but more of a yellow undertone vs the red and grey undertones of the north and dorne#to me like. ned is just slightly more brown skinned for a northerner. closer to the middle of the north the more like ned you are#whereas like the neck white harbor bear island have a bit more variation in shade skewing lighter and more pink (andal) in undertone#than the grey kind of sickly look people from like the barrows winterfell etc have

Man idk the argument about hvy being a Chinese company and so they're restricted on having characters with dark skin tones when dislyte is ALSO a Chinese company and they typically are really good at representing the culture they take from for their characters makes it somewhat mute
#Like ppl aren't even asking to make new body models literally just to slap on your darkest (which isn't even that dark mind you!) skin tone#On the characters that is inspired by mostly brown/black cultures#Also it a bad look when you can perfectly design enemies in those regions of having various cultures design such as dreadlocks but -#Not on your playable 'good guys' 😬#Natlan update is gonna be a mess with it characters I'm hoping it won't be as tone deaf like what happen w sumeru#The jeht world quest still fucks with me with how racist paimon became for that like jfc orz#Especially since with dislyte they got in trouble with the character design (half animal and death features) that they made alt costumes bu#Never touch the feature of any of their more ethic diverse characters like lmao?
