in danny's defense: the word "freak" is. a mini beserker button for him for.... obvious ghostly reasons, so like, even if its not directed at him, he still very much unappreciates Martinez's insults at Battinson. Danny may or may not be projecting.

he's not going to hurt the guy! not in any serious or permanently disfiguring way at least! But he is going to leave mean sticky notes on the square part of his spine that he can't reach, and stick salt in his 3AM Late Night Crime Scene Coffee, and kick the bottom of his heel while he's walking so he stumbles. And other petty, infuriating things that tally up and boil over, over time.

hi! I miss drawing with people in a café and some folks mentioned they'd like to mess with my sketches themselves and that sounds cool so this is now a thing. if u play gartic phone this is basically the complement mode! but without the fucking ring noise that freaks you out right when you're getting into the flow of it

few things are 1/there's no hard deadline! take this at ur own pace if u do, but 2/I'll also be finishing this sketch and I estimate it to take around uhh 3 to 4 days? from the time this is posted. so if that's a structure u like then let's aim for something done in that timespan as well! and 3/if u finish ur piece and post it and want me to see it the best way to do that is to @ this blog! above all we go into this one determined to have fun and enjoy. the reason bones and spock are always arguing is because every time they agree on something the universe will make jim do something completely reckless and stupid just to fill the old married couple bitchiness deficit in the space-time continuum. (also psst if jim hadn't interrupted his husbands in panel two spock would totally have worked his way up to resting his hand on bones' shoulder lmao)

reading animorphs sequentially instead of in whatever random order you can get your hands on them is such a trip because you can see these kids getting progressively better at war and worse at being happy, you can see how traumatic events from one book echo into the next ones but never quite get dealt with because these kids have no real way to take care of their mental health, you can see their relationships deepening but simultaneously gaining friction and faultlines as they learn just how far they'd go for each other but also how far they'd go in general...

obviously this series was meant to be episodic in nature, and i actually think that might be the better way to first encounter it, but the arc of the series in publication order is extremely well-crafted

the most accidentally hilarious moment in NATM 3 is as the tablet is dying and Larry is cradling Dexter while the audience has this clear view of Ahkmenrah, a teenager who was murdered thousands of years ago, is very, very, slowly collapsing to the floor as his body reverts to a decayed mummified corpse. And nobody acknowledges it.

Alright since all of us Ben fans are still recovering from our lamentable defeat, and I thought this might be funny, I would like to humbly suggest to you all some of my own means of dealing which are working thus far, as well as a couple other things that have come to mind 🙂‍↕️

SELF-CARE FOR THE BENJI TALLMADGE TRUTHERS:

- Light a candle. Just do it. :))

- Unplug! Unwind! As @culperscomet suggested here, reconnect with nature!! (Though I am not advocating for the full-on “lay down and let the earth reclaim you” approach here 🤠)

- Do some Ben-inspired moodboards & collaging

- Draw a warm bath Mary Woodhull style, but just relax in lieu of shooting anybody in the ear

- Similarly, should you find yourself near a body of water, visit it, look at it, enjoy the wAvEs, though I doubt any of your respective bodies of water look as blue as Ben’s eyes, do they?

- TREAT 🤪 YOURSELF 🤪 ( interpret that however you want)

- Bask in Seth pictures… they can improve everything

- Which leads me to my next point, actually rewatch some Turn to properly appreciate his beauty some more, if you require any suggestions the first episode that comes to me is S1E2 (Who By Fire), in which Ben is absolutely gorgeous; although he’s having dinner with Simcoe who looks like a feral poodle at the time, even on my first watch of the show that scene had me losing it because god. I wanna be under that table. Don’t you? Ben is delicious.

my biggest hurdle with this: I ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT PARE IT DOWN TO JUST 1 FAVE FOR ANY CATEGORY........ I knew if I had to pick just one I would inevitably be unsatisfied with my choice (I still am, somewhat) so there WAS going to be multiple for almost every box... but the workload would have been intolerable, so tacking on another 11 would have been a really dumb idea because I lose momentum so quickly nowadays that it's been a constant struggle to put other tasks aside to keep working on this..... but this is the year we finish what we started dammit so here are my half-done, not-quite-happy-with-it picks, with the finished art still to come someday hopefully soon-ish! fr tho it took me a full day just to pick which Champions to put down and I already came to this whole thing pre-prepared with a list!!!!! there are 159 Digimon on there and counting........
