“batman loves his nightwing” this and “batsibs love nightwing that”, what about the batsibs’ friends / team loving nightwing ‼️‼️
YES!!! They love him!
The thing about Dick Grayson is that he has such a unique quality that just draws people in and holds them captive.
Tumblr media
Titans (2016) Issue #26
He has a charisma that's intense. People from all walks of life find themselves just constantly looking at him for friendship, advice, love, guidance, and just something that calls them to him.
It's the impact he has on people that's astounding.
Tumblr media
Titans (2016) Issue #27
They love him so much and they respect him so much that his absence is like a huge gaping hole in their chest. People feel lost without him because they've come to rely so heavily on him. Gar and Steel literally only joined because Dick asked.
This is something Roy catches on to and is well-aware of. He practically hounds Dick into creating the Outsiders with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Outsiders (2003) Issue #1
But you think Roy is the only one to capitalize on Dick's Nightwing effect? Hell no.
Tumblr media
Titans East Special
Dick isn't just a person. He's a home. He's the guiding hand and the ship's steer control. He's special to people because he's everything they want him to be. He's their lover, best friend, brother, and partner. Whatever role they're missing in life they find it him him because he makes himself versatile enough to fill whatever they're looking for.
Tumblr media
Dark Crisis Issue #1
We say batsibs' teams but he's the whole Justice community's everything. He fills the connections of both Batman's side and Superman's side.
He IS the most well-connected person in the entire community.
Tumblr media
Teen Titans (2003) Issue #23
Look at what Kon says -
"Nightwing and Starfire brought wave two. Which is just about everyone whose ever been a Titan. It's a natural thing when Nightwing shows up. None of us are conscious of it, really--but we all look to him for orders. Robin's lucky."
The sheer respect. That Kon has for Nightwing is indomitable. Oh, but you think that's all?
Do you know what the superhero community says about Nightwing? Kon will tell you what they think -
Tumblr media
Teen Titans (2003) Issue #33
Tumblr media
The Titans (1999) Issue #39
He calls. They answer.
Hero-worship of Nightwing is canonically universal. Renaming this the Nightwing Effect

And sometimes this means more than friendship love but still born out of respect. It's so funny to me how Dick goes around friendzoning people.
Cassie
Even when people don't like what he wants they still do it because they respect him. Because he had an impact on them and they were were moved

Titans (2003) Issue #89

Kyle Rayner
Even people he's just met are like - this guy's pretty good!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Green Lantern (1990) Issue #81
Coming from a Green Lantern comic!! Not even a Wondergirl, Wonderwoman, Batman, or Nightwing writer. A green lantern!
Speaking of which, when Hal Jordon dies, a list of people are selected to be The Hal Jordon's replacement and guess who it is?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Action Comics (1938) Issue #642
Hal forces his soul back into his body and comes back to life but DC does a "what-if" thing and shows what it would be like if Dick actually became a Green Lantern.
Tumblr media
Superman/Batman Issue #60
AND BRUCE'S REACTION!! His most favorite son combined with one of his least favorite people 🤣🤣
Tumblr media
Superman/Batman Issue #60
But Bruce's faith in Dick actually elavtes his opinion of Hal.
ALSO!!-
Tumblr media
Superman/Batman Issue #61
I JUST KNOW THAT BRUCE WAS WRITHING IN JEALOUSY!!
But anyway, shows to prove that no matter who Dick is and what identity he takes, he will always be the love of the hero community. Because in this world, each member is a combination of the Justice League AND the Titans.
Tumblr media
Superman/Batman Issue #60
Yet Dick is still the center of it all.
A literal god
Tumblr media
Nightwing (2016) Issue #49
Jon and the hero community
Tumblr media
Justice League: Road to Dark Crisis Issue #1
"It would mean a LOT to people if you came and said--" "You're all overreacting." "We need you."
"You're all overreacting." - Clearly, this isn't the first time someone has already come to Dick about being the center of the community.
Not just by the batfam, but for everyone Dick is the most beloved person in the community. That is a fact.

Alright that’s it my brain is rotting I must make an ask
Mostly for SDV bachelors but if you want to expand on it then go ahead but: who’s into PDA and what kind of PDA do they do?
Hello dear anon 👋 Sorry for the late answer, I took too long...😮‍💨
Thanks for asking and enjoy!
_________________________________________
Alex is not shy about anyone, loves the attention of his s/o, and wants to show the whole world how wonderful his partner is. So no walk is complete without hugs, kisses, holding hands and so on. Also the athlete will be especially into pda if his Farmer has recently been injured adventuring or some stranger has started flirting with them. He pulls the Farmer into his arms, protecting them from a pesky admirer or if he simply senses a tense situation around. Scary dog privilege, and hey, hugs!
Sam just personifies a golden labrador puppy: he always wants attention. He loves showing signs of attention in public, especially in a playful manner. Let's say soft and warm hugs turn into a tickle war, and kisses immediately turn into playful pecking. What can I say - Sammy is a very social guy. However, he will listen to his partner and won't do too much pda if the Farmer is uncomfortable. The poor fellow will have to restrain himself from squeezing or kissing his partner tho, because they are so cute and beautiful and his.
Given his shy nature, Sebastian doesn't seem like the type of person to into pda. Of course, he shows all the affection and care for the Farmer if they are in a more secluded place, but the crowd of people who stare at their cooing stress Sebby (nless it's close friends like Sam and Abigail). The only attention he will show Farmer in public is holding hands and hugging. However, he will not mind if his partner is into pda (although often Sebastian's face will be red like a tomato). He loves them with all his heart, but he still has a hard time showing his love for them in public.
Although Elliott is a hopeless romantic who will dedicate poetry and serenade to his s/o daily, he is not a big fan of pda. A sophisticated writer expresses his love best in words, not in physical touch, especially in public. Elliott lived alone in his little beach house for almost a year, and most likely led a similar lifestyle before he moved to Stardew Valley. True, after a glass of something strong in the Saloon, this is a completely different person: he will be much more courageous to express his love for the Farmer. Here you have passionate kisses, and attempts to carry Farmer in Elliott's arms (which most often end in a fall to the floor, but still!).
To be honest, Shane doesn't give a shit about others opinion, but he cares about the opinion of his partner. Therefore, if the Farmer is unsure because of the pda, then Shane doesn't mind. If the Farmer, on the contrary, manifests pda at any opportunity, then Shane also doesn't mind. He will be fine in any case, such a versatile person this chicken man! Although Shane likes when he and the Farmer hold hands or exchange quick kisses, the Farmer has the final say. Shane knows that they both love each other, and that it is not necessary to prove it to the whole world.
Harvey is a real cinnamon roll: like Shane, he will give the last word about the pda to the Farmer. The doctor of Pelican Town also believes that it's not necessary to show off your love, but also don't mind exchanging light touches, quick kisses, and holding hands. At some points, he may kiss or hug the Farmer longer in public, but he still wants to keep his passion for his partner until they get home... 😉

Amy hot takes.
Amy's Sonic Advance gameplay is still THE superior 2-D gameplay for Amy, and the only reason it hasn't been revisited in newer games is because Sega are cowards still stuck with the "one-button" approach that only works for Sonic and Tails.
Even when games like Origins Plus and Sonic Superstars nerfed down Amy to just two moves, she is still more fun to play as than Sonic.
Amy's gameplay in Sonic Advance >> E-122 Psi Amy hacks >> Amy Mania by Troop Sushi/Codename Gamma >> Sonic Supertars >> Origins Plus.
Sonic X's Amy is the full package of how Amy should be like. Even with her flaws, she was one of the most fun characters to watch, and surprisingly got plenty of moments that humanized her and even explore a bit of how she saw her relation with Sonic, proving she isn't deluded about it like her detractors claim.
Giving Amy a toy hammer is one of the best things Sega did, and wish the full potential of what she can do with it was more explored in gameplay terms.
The tarot cards should be only a back-up weapon, never the main one. Story-wise, the can guide her in her quests, providing the player with hints that they have to interpretate.
IDW's characterization of Amy is alright. The issue if anything, is that she, like the game characters, are hardly the focus of the stories, nor are they allowed to be shown in a more personal manner. Don't care if it's because Sega is too strict, or if the writers only use them to get to the characters that THEY really want to write for. Either way, the situation sucks for the game cast.
I think Amy is better suited to be the franchise's co-protagonist alongside Sonic. She is very versatile as she isn't restricted to be by his side 24/7, and as long as she sees Sonic as her prince in shining armor, there really isn't any reason to keep her from growing into a stronger and more beautiful heroine.
I'd like to see a story where Amy tries to help a character find redemption, but is ultimately unable to, betrayed by them even. I think this would be an interesting change of pace because, even if let down by those Amy tries to help, that she still remain kind of heart would be proof of just how strong her heart is.
Superform. Of all characters not named Sonic, Amy's noble and compassionate heart should be more than worthy of awakening that miracle.
Morio Kishimoto really should go all out with exploring more of Sonic and Amy's relation. I think he is one of the few people capable of doing so and pushing the status quo to ot' limit whole keeping things fresh. After the let down of that last Tailstube where Amy's feelings were again the object of mockery from american writers ( especially HIM), I'd more than welcome the more respectful approach from Japanese writers towards the dynamic of these two characters.
Amy IS part of the main cast, and should be treated accordingly to her status as lead female character. That means, not giving away Amy's roles to less important ones. Wether it's things like her compassion (which Tyson Hesse mentions to be unique) or being the most adventure loving of the girls.
Don't make Amy be "mature" by becoming a party pooper who dislikes fun. This is a very outdated stereotype of women that honestly, doesn't apply to the real Amy. She would join the boys in doing dumb things, while still doing girly things with other girls too.
Enough of sad face Amy. Why the hell is Sega afraid to show an Amy that, no matter what, can be a beacon of hope for those who have lost their faith. Further more, why is she not expressing faith anymore on Sonic? I swear ever since Sonic Boom, only Tails is allowed to do this as an artificial means to push the bff thing, in contrast to previous games and even shows, where Amy did this. It saddens me how in Prime, she complains about Sonic not sticking to the plan, while Tails is the one who reminds that he has never let them down. Like, helloooooo? Amy also knows this, so why treat her like she doesn't?
Sonic, Tails, Amy & Knuckles >> Sonic, Tails and Amy >>>>>> Sonic, Tails & Knuckles.
Writers shouldn't be afraid to show/play out Amy's flaws. I like seeing characters make fools of themselves once in a while, as long as they are also allowed to get out of their mess by also playing out their strengths and positive traits.

Hiya! :D 14, 15, 29 for the ask meme?
14. What’s your favorite fandom to write for?
Hahahah, well I'd definitely say it's One Piece as I've never before had nearly as many individual headcanons or story ideas for any other series. Which considering just the sheer size and scope of One Piece it makes a lot of sense! There is so much versatility in this particular sandbox and it's kept me entertained for a long time now. Who knows what it would have been like for me and my stories if I had picked it up when it first came to the US 😂😂😂
15. What’s the weirdest fandom you’ve ever written for?
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Hands down. It's literally the series of "do whatever you want or think is cool" because that's sure as hell what Araki does lmaoooooo
29. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?
Hmm, let's see... I like to think I have at least several times over the course of my writing history. The first was definitely writing something and posting it on FFN for the first time, and boy was that nerve wracking! But here I am to prove that it worked out swimmingly hahaha~
As for something more recent-ish ehhh... It'd have to probably be writing a series of Reader vignettes for Genshin Impact. I didn't do many of them, but that's the first time I've ever written in 2nd Person Perspective, so it was a fun challenge to kind of prove to myself that I could do it. I'm pretty happy with the results personally.
The other more recent one I can think of is the work I'm doing for the early arcs of my Bleach fic Over the Clouds. I've never written a mystery/thriller before, even though I have tons of experience with horror and suspense in my own works and in collabs, so this is a special sort of challenge to myself to make this work. It's been frustrating for sure! But still definitely fun and I'm happy with what I have so far :)c
Thank you so much for the ask!

Sorry for the late reply, something came up that took a while to fix.
I can't agree more, someone with a personallity like Kafka is someone you'd really don't want to be on the bad side of. No matter the size. The only thing far worst is the anger of a calm man. Or the calm of an angry man. At least in my humble opinion.
Human villains really are quite a versatile bounch, no matter how big or small a role they play. It at least makes it easier for me to properly work things when I finally decided what to do with them. Like I'd said before, things are still in the works.
But now over to the silly stuff.
One of the more pleasent things that has happened since Kafka became tiny, is that he has gotten a play mate of sorts for the dollhouse his living in. In the form of a certain little girl he rescued so long ago.
Ami loves it when Mina lets her and her mother come over to play. The girl just has this air about her that makes Kafka's situation feel lighter somehow. And birngs laughs to everyone.
She's also the only one that can get Kafka to dress up without a fuss. And often takes a lot of her own doll's clothing with her whenever she can for Kafka to try out. Though both Mina and Futaba has gotten Ami to understand that anything frilly or have too much pink in it will just not work on Kafka thanks to his colour scheme.
To even prove it, Kafka let himself be dressed in one just so the girl could see he just looked horrible in that kind of stuff.
He, Mina and Ami even have tea parties together. Which are more fun then you'd expect.
There's a saying that you can't help but wholeheartedly agree with. "Even the Devil fears a good man gone to war."
I love how Ami and Futaba wormed themselves into the fandom over time. Only Kaiju No. 8 can make people care for minor nameless characters. (Someone really needs the ask the writers for their names during a Q and A.)
Kafka would honestly dress up for a kid even if he looks completely silly in the process. Man is dad coded and nobody can say otherwise. His Kaiju side just intensifies it.

'During the countdown to July 21, 2023, much merriment was made about the Barbie versus Oppenheimer double feature. Each film came from a seasoned indie-turned-blockbuster director — Greta Gerwig and Christopher Nolan, respectively — with expansive visions, distinct thematic flairs, and a knack for captivating audience attention in an increasingly distracted world. The internet seized upon the meme opportunities as the internet is wont to do. Creatives on both sides of the metaphorical aisle expressed excitement over their "rival" film. And fortune favors the bold, for this mini pop culture zeitgeist probably helped push both films into impressive opening weekends during a summer box office that's seen as many misses as it has historical hits.
Many cinephiles, myself included, had no stake in the game; two seemingly contradictory films premiering on the same day just celebrated cinema's versatility. But despite the piercingly insightful Barbie serving as an uplifting contrast to Oppenheimer's necessarily solemnity, there's only one true match for Christopher Nolan's twelfth film. If Oppenheimer singles out one man's existential dilemma and the apocalyptic ramifications of the atomic bomb's creation, the 1988 animated classic Grave of the Fireflies from Studio Ghibli and noted director Isao Takahata focuses on two siblings in the wake of the United States's systematic bombings of Japanese cities. It's easy for subsequent generations to feel distant from an event they didn't experience. Fireflies grants no such mercy even to the unaware. Takahata's film makes history as unignorable as it should always be, applying the unbearable weight of honesty and a prevailing intimacy to an atrocity that's inseparable from J. Robert Oppenheimer.
How Are ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Grave of the Fireflies’ Related?
Hailed by many as Christopher Nolan's magnum opus, Oppenheimer is an exquisite three-hour biopic executed by a consummate master of his craft. True to its title, the film follows J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist dubbed "the father of the atomic bomb." As part of the top-secret Manhattan Project and the overseer of the Los Alamos Laboratory, Oppenheimer proved pivotal in the successful designing of the world's first atomic bomb. Evaluating Oppenheimer as a piece of cinema divorced from history, it's an amalgamation of everything responsible for Christopher Nolan's household name status. He's a distinct, beloved, and sometimes controversial figure, and Oppenheimer stands on the pillars of Nolan's established strengths. The writer-director wields Oppenheimer the man with the precision of a scalpel to vivisect history: he interrogates the casualty of human nature with vicious questions about the banality of evil, the corruptive influence of power, and humankind's culpability for the current state of our world. It leaves one feeling appropriately desolate as well as awe-struck.
Released in 1988 by the revered animation house Studio Ghibli, Grave of the Fireflies is often regarded as one of the greatest animated masterpieces and one of the best war films of all time. Since art is subjective by nature, Fireflies is one of the few fictional pieces capable of earning a descriptor like "universal" praise. Unlike Western media, Japan doesn't infantilize the animation medium. Artists and fans treat it like an art form worthy of passionate execution and critical respect comparable to a live-action exercise. Grave of the Fireflies could undoubtedly match any live-action film in sheer artistry and the severity of its lasting emotional impact. It's an experience only animation could render, and it's somehow all the more devastating for that fact: human hands drew a story this unrelentingly affecting.
Grave of the Fireflies derives its story from the semi-autobiographical writings of author, singer, and politician Akiyuki Nosaka. Having come of age during World War II, Nosaka based Fireflies on his experiences as a survivor of the March 1945 firebombings of the Japanese city of Kōbe. At the time, Kōbe was one of Japan's most populous cities as well as home to one of the country's most important ports. Kōbe's citizens were unprepared for and helpless against multiple air raids from American Allied forces that killed thousands of residents and left even more homeless. One of these attacks caused the death of Akiyuki Nosaka's adoptive father while Nosaka's little sister Keiko perished in the aftermath.
Kōbe was one city among many ruthlessly decimated by aerial bombardment (and executed by far too many American soldiers who held no regard for Japanese lives). Days earlier on March 9, Tokyo had suffered what the Encyclopedia Britannica calls "one of the most destructive acts of war in history." In one night alone, tens of thousands perished in an act of unfathomable cruelty described as "the worst single firestorm in recorded history" with "human carnage [...] so great that the blood-red mists and stench of burning flesh [...] wafted up."
What Happens in Studio Ghibli’s ‘Grave of the Fireflies’?
In Studio Ghibli's Grave of the Fireflies adaptation, two siblings are orphaned by the Kōbe bombings after their mother passes away from catastrophic burns. Older brother Seita Yokokawa (Tsutomu Tatsumi), a young teen, and his younger sister Setsuko (Ayano Shiraishi) struggle to survive in a world overrun by apathy, indifference, and evil. There are the adults who wage war without care for human casualties, the aunt who treats her nephew and niece with selfish cruelty, the strangers who refuse to help two starving children, and those so accustomed to dead bodies that the sight barely elicits a reaction let alone sympathy.
Since Setsuko is barely more than a toddler, Seita tries to preserve his sister's innocence as a parental caregiver as well as a brother. He helps her rediscover beauty even while both siblings are slowly, inexorably dying of starvation: they celebrate a buoyant moment on the beach and gaze in rapturous wonder at nature, specifically a group of fireflies' dazzling light. These everyday insects illuminating the night are transcendent, especially for Setsuko. The little girl cares as much for her beloved brother as Seita does her; she tends to him within her limited comprehension, because in such circumstances, children understand enough. No matter how agonizing life becomes, their relationship is one of unconditional tenderness. This contrast between wider malice and concentrated intimacy is Fireflies' thesis statement about the harrowing duality of human existence: the best of life and the worst.
When Setsuko realizes how fleeting a firefly's life is, the metaphor for these human children is unambiguous. The movie never allows viewers to entertain the hope Seita and Setsuko will survive because it opens with their ghosts reuniting. The flashback that follows is a eulogy capturing their lives' tender brevity while depicting their inevitable slide toward death. Being equipped with the knowledge these children are doomed makes Fireflies' outcome no more palatable. Instead, watching every increasingly desperate moment leaves you hollow, with a festering raw grief few movies can hope to match.
What Makes ‘Grave of the Fireflies’ So Devastating?
Writer-director Isao Takahata based Fireflies' air raid imagery on first-hand experience. In 1945, a nine-year-old Takahata lived through the United States bombing Japan's Okayama Prefecture. Takahata remembers waking his sister and stumbling "outside barefoot while still in their pajamas" before witnessing "a sea of fire." Approximately 1,737 civilian lives were lost. Takahata described the memory to Mainichi Shimbun in 2015: "I could not stop shaking, faced with a situation in which I could have died at any moment."
Each of Fireflies' elements is a masterpiece. Assembled, they make a devastating, haunting, and unforgettable experience. The framing of every shot, the colors utilized, the characterization beats, the animation's fluid pacing, the performances, and the script's meticulous nuance contribute to an atmosphere of candid humanization. Takahata's touch is delicate yet ruthless: grave diggers tossing away a candy jar in the first act becomes unbearable with context.
It's not uncommon for even the most casual movie watcher to feel changed by certain films. Most of these experiences are affirming, as if the story unlocked a door to previously undiscovered realizations about yourself. To watch Grave of the Fireflies is to be permanently wounded. It's something you carry in your heart afterward — and, by that right, possibly one of the most important contributions to film.
‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Grave of the Fireflies’ Have Different Goals, Same Outcome
If Grave of the Fireflies portrays dying innocence within a cruel world, then Oppenheimer deals with the full weight of knowledge. White men in the American government have the power to sanction hundreds of thousands of deaths as easily as ordering breakfast. They decide that the lives of Japanese civilians are justifiable losses and debate which cities make the best targets — opting for Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Christopher Nolan doesn't depict the catastrophic destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; arguably, it's not an affluent British man's story to tell. Even if Nolan's intentions were good, graphic imagery might exploit and dehumanize Japanese civilians. The other side of this argument is that it's irresponsible to make a movie about the atomic bomb's creation without showing the ruin it inflicted upon Asian-Pacific lives.
Despite its flaws, Oppenheimer never aims to be anything but a critical incitement. Neither does Grave of the Fireflies, but Fireflies prioritizes the perspective of innocent Japanese children caught in a conflict they neither sought nor participated in. War is an act of unadulterated evil. This has been our world's reality, and it remains a reality. A movie like Grave of the Fireflies is why both the creation and the introspective consumption of art will always be a vitally important part of the human experience. It's why cinema exists: to inform, move, challenge perspectives, and tell the truth.'

Yo! It's been a while since I've posted. By been a while, I mean it's been a whole year! Jk. Anyway. Here's some of my OC's that I worked on for about 7 hrs. I totally did not destroy my body to make this and I'm definitely not sobbing because i want to add more but can't because I still suck at drawing. I accept any and all criticism to improve on my drawing skills!
Tumblr media
If you wanna know more 'bout them, click the read more! If not, I hope you at least inspected my drawing for a bit!
I am slightly ashamed to say this, but my OC came from MHA! I know, cringe. But I still enjoy the action that comes with it! Just not the rushed plot.. anyway. Buckle up 'cause it's a bit long!
The two people in the pic? They're twins, Daughter and Son of Vlad King himself! The twins are rumored to.. have something going on with their quirks. Mainly that it can hold other quirks, but it's just a rumor.
The first born, the one near the window, is named Aoi Sekijiro. The first born twin that has a blood quirk like Vlad, except it is more versatile! Allowing her to control her blood mid-air unlike Vlad who can only eject blood.. I assume at least. Aoi barely talks, opting to use her quirk to spell out what she wants to say! She aspires to become a writer due to her creativity, but because of public pressure and the urge to please her dad, she joins the the Hero Course at UA unwillingly. She has a huge identity crisis deep inside, and would often have panic attacks because of her unresolved problems.. It's not because of the pressure she's under being a hero's child, no! It's because of a strange feeling that she doesn't feel like her body is right. Anyway, she'd rather not talk about it this early in her life. Let's move onto the second born!
The second born, which is the one staring straight into your soul right now is named Kioshi Sekijiro. He has a cat quirk that allows him to transform into either a hybrid or a full on cat! How did he manage to get this quirk? Well, back then, his great×3 grandmother had an affair with a man who had a cat quirk, thus creating a line of cat quirks before it magically disappeared! The cat genes got passed down to Kioshi however, and now he holds the oddball quirk of the family tree. He's an affectionate person and would often use his cat form to comfort people with his purrs! Mostly his twin, as she is stressed out the most. He is loyal and had been one of the few, youngest researchers to research about blood for some.. risky to talk about reasons..
Anyway! Due to the.. ahem. Cat-like behavior of both twins, they form an adoration for animals and cats! They based the cases of their devices on cats and would leave random bowls of food outside to feed any passing strays. They also drew their blood and put it in separate viles, they then exchanged it with each other and now, they wear each other's vile on a necklace! Kioshi often lounges on the windowsill each morning, so they had placed a small pillow and blanket on the sill so he could be comfortable while he relaxes!
The twins have a red spot on the top of their hair that reflects light for some odd reason. People once mistook them for being part of the Todoroki family. Luckily though, because of the harrassment and rumors of Endeavor having an affair, Vlad and Endeavor publicly announced and proved that the twins are infact Vlad's children. They even had DNA test results ready incase some reporters decide to ask devious questions.
That's all for this OC showcase! Also, some context for the drawing;
I actually wanted to caption it with the snapchat caption. It was supposed to say; "this idiot studying stuff they don't and won't understand" but i had no snapchat so, yeah it looks goofy now without it.

I've never watched Heartstopper, so in that sense, I don't go here. But in the sense that I am a bisexual with opinions, I do go here. (I saw that they forced that boy to out himself as bisexual and I have thoughts.)
I just think it's highly ironic that people have taken the inclusive, positive (as in, do something actively to add to the world) concept of 'Own Voices' and made it exclusive, negative (take away stories, police people's identities), and then used it for clout, pretending that they have any moral authority.
LMAO THAT'S ABSURD. YOU ARE ABSURD.
The entire point of 'Own Voices', and having people tell their own stories is to bring more people into the fold. It is to prevent the all too common bullshit of studios and publishing companies and powerful straight white men, of benefiting from marginalized communities while at the same time, leaving them out in the cold.
The point of Own Voices is to put a stop to the common Hollywood phenomenon of "oh look at that brave straight man willing to debase himself and play gay for a role" and lauding him with awards. Meanwhile gay men can't even get in the door because 'you're too femme' or 'no one will believe you as a straight man.'
The point of Own Voices is to address the fact that there are a ton of unemployed trans people because 'we don't know what to do with you' and 'we don't think you are versatile enough to play cis people' or 'we don't need any 'niche' writers, thank you' meanwhile they've got cis people picking up Oscars for the 'brave incredible' act of pretending to be trans for a few months. It's having people lining up to suck you off because 'oh look how much you care about those people' but in real life, they wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.
The issue is, the vast unemployment problem for visibly queer people, and then, us having to watch the people who exclude them parade around acting like their savior.
The answer is always…if the money is flowing, you need to make sure little dams are not being built to keep it from flowing to the communities you are profiting from.
The solution is to make sure marginalized people are in the room in positions of influence, so that the characters aren't mocked. To make sure the stories are told in an authentic manner.
If you are telling queer stories and you haven't got any queer people on the project? That's a problem. If you are making money off communities and excluding them? That's a problem.
Own Voices is a principle that targets the capitalist element of producing art. It looks at the people who fund the project. It takes into account makeup of the project over all. It makes sure that the capital is flowing to the places it is benefiting from.
IT IS NOT an exclusionary principle of 'you have to be of that exact queer identity in order to depict that queer identity'. That's literally absurd. It inhibits empathy. It restricts storytelling. And, it goes in the dead opposite direction of where we want to go!!
AND it is actively homophobic and destructive and malicious, because it leads to policing people's identities. It leads to outing people. It leads to reductive, predatory, behavior, it leads to harassment. And for bisexual people, it creates this constant hostile environment of we cannot just be. We cannot just exist. We have to keep proving ourselves.
I remember when I told one of my friends that I was bisexual. (I talked about this in my day of bi visibility post) She told me she didn't believe me. That all girls like to kiss girls for boys attention and for fun. She told me when I ate pussy, she'd believe me. (lmaooooosob I know!) And this is a common common common attitude towards bisexual people. "I don't believe you. Perform a sex act." PEOPLE I'M NOT KIDDING THIS IS ABSURDLY AWFUL AND HORRIBLE AND YES SOMETIMES FEELS DARKLY COMEDIC BUT IT IS SO HARMFUL AND IT IS SO COMMON. STOP IT.
Now, is there nuance to the question of casting queer people in queer roles? Yes. Of course. As a feminist I would be remiss to not mention trans women. (actual feminists give a fuck about all women not just cis women, just, you know, for the record) For example, with trans women, the most overbearing stereotype of trans women is that they are men in disguise. There are quite literally legal defenses that are built on it that have (and continue to allow) men to murder trans women and escape punishment in America. That they are just men under women's clothes, tricking you. Waiting to spring the truth on you. They are literally murdered behind this vicious bigotry. When you have a cis man playing a trans woman, you risk feeding into that stereotype.
Now. There is more nuance on top of that. If the project involves trans people, trans women are writing it, is it well done, is it humanizing? It may have value! But people also aren't obligated to feel overjoyed about it either. People are allowed to point out that connection and to prefer to see a trans woman in a trans woman role.
BUT THERE IS LITERALLY NO NUANCE ANYWHERE that allows you to take this concept of own voices, and use it to say "you must always be x to portray/write x or we will harass you." THERE IS NO EXPLANATION ANYWHERE that allows you to require people to 'prove' their identities to you. There is LITERALLY NO WIGGLE ROOM for you to demand people to perform sexual or romantic acts for you to 'prove' who they are. That is disgusting. And it is actively hostile to bisexual people.
And when you fix your fingers to get on twitter and say that a boy (HE IS BARELY 18) is APPROPRIATING queer identity because he hasn't fucked a dude for you on camera, I mean lol you don't give a fuck about queer people. STFU lmaooo. You don't look like Marsha P Johnson, you don't look like Harvey Milk. You look like a petty, small minded little asshole with too much time on their hands, trying to get clout on the internet. (I also suspect there is some horny fetishizing behavior at play there because people want to watch him kiss other boys. This is the whole....please understand the difference between fiction and reality. Enjoy fictional queer relationships all you want. Find men hot together all you want. But do not treat REAL LIFE ACTUAL men and boys like they are your little performing dolls ffs. Gross, people. Gross!!)
Anyway,
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE QUEER TO PLAY QUEER. We can demand broad and consistently inclusive projects, AND not be utter assholes and police people's identities. I promise you. We can. In fact, it is perfectly logical, consistent and normal. We can include gay men and bisexual men in projects that depict them, without bullying children. I promise you that. It's easy. It's simple as pie my dears.
And if you get online and use the language of social justice to be a heinous little bully, I hope you know everyone else can see you for what you are. No one thinks you're smart or that you care about social justice. You're just a clout chasing asshole and you need to stop.

TMNT 2003 Fic Rec
A list of some of my favorite fics and writers, in no particular order. Yes, I am aware my favoritism is showing.
Double Vision - Princess Tyler Briefs -  Leo likes to think he understands his family, but some things simply don’t make sense, even to him.
In Another’s Shoes - Splinter -  Mike's the leader? Raph's the engineer? Don's the rebel? Leo's the goof off? What was Splinter thinking? He's thinking he needs some comic relief at his sons' expense. Besides, it's all in the name of learning.
Maybe Just the End - nightwalker3 -  It's Donatello and Leonardo trapped in an elevator at the end of the world. Or maybe just the end of New York; it's hard to tell with the lights out.
Desperate Measures - Superkat -  Donatello spoke angrily under two circumstances: major setbacks to his projects or prolonged periods of intense work without rest. They were guessing the latter this time...
Encounters - hummerhouse -  You can't live in a city of over 8 million people without interacting with a few of them.
And Call Me in the Morning - slipstream - It’s not like Don is doing this for fun, he reminds himself as the olive-skinned turtle makes up four fresh syringes and starts measuring out doses. He’s his doctor and his brother, he only has Mikey’s best interest at—He blinks, eyes suddenly fixed on the band of cloth fixed tight to Don’s upper thigh. “Dude, what’s wrong with your leg?”
Question - Meg720 -  Don's obsessed.
Genius At Work - nightwalker3 -  Donnie's the smart one, but sometimes he misses the obvious.
Without Wings - Princess Tyler Briefs -  If you asked him later, or even if you’d had a chance at the time, Donatello would have been unable to tell you what he was thinking. Pre-Exodus.
Turtles Gone Wild! - Ryan Phelan -  Bishop deploys a hidden camera in the lair to spy on the turtles, and gets a lot more than he bargained for!
The Rebellion of 3024 - Kay the Cricketed -  It's just another day with Mikey, his action figures, and an epic battle on the field of his bedroom floor. Except... usually Leo isn't there.
What Dreams May Come - Princess Tyler Briefs -  Raph confronts Don as to why he didn’t tell them what was going on when he was ill, and learns more about his younger brother than he ever wanted to. Post-Good Genes
Don’s Secret - hummerhouse -  Sharing an emotional burden usually brings relief, but sometimes it's a cause for more fear.
Problem Solving - Goblin Cat KC -  The theft of Donatello's old math books brings past hurts to light, as Donatello discovers that the thief is Leonardo.
We Are the Klunk - PlainSimpleGarak -  A look at life in the turtle's lair and an adventure gone wrong, told from the point of view of Klunk, Michelangelo's cat. Inspired by Terry Bain's novel: We Are the Cat.
EVP - HamsterMasterSamster -  In parapsychology, 'Electronic Voice Phenomena' (or EVP) is a term used to describe the voices of ghosts captured on audio recording devices.
Flicker - RenaRoo -  Donatello has been sick for a long time, much longer than he would ever admit. His family just hopes they can help him before his light flickers out.
Versatility - hummerhouse -  The Turtle's attempts to destroy a drug ring take them out of the city and into a situation they might not be ready for.
Bragging Rights - Cynlee -  Jun is going to prove he is the best Foot, even if it KILLS him. He will bring back the head of Donatello and show them all!
Dinosaurs, PTSD, and Museum Visiting Hours - nightwalker3 -  Donnie never did get to see the dinosaur display.
Waking Up - Flynne -  A 2k3 "Same as it Never Was" what-if story. Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Raphael died in the assault on the Shredder's stronghold. But what if they hadn't?
Making the Grade - Splinter -  How can young Donatello make Splinter understand that he knows just about everything? It's gonna take awhile.
Appliance - dontgiveahoot -  Who repairs the repairer? Who heals the healer? Donatello decides to press on with his workload regardless, with the aid of plenty of coffee and aspirin. After all, it can't be that bad...
The Virtues of Knocking - calliopechild -  Raph is treated to an evening of learning.
Rainy Day Friends - Goblin Cat KC -  Usagi comes to Leonardo for help as he is targeted by an unknown enemy.
Consequentialism - hummerhouse -  Agent John Bishop has acquired a new piece of alien technology. It would be a boon to his cause, if only he could get it to work right.
If you made it through this list, I encourage you to check out other things these authors have written; I’ve taken up enough scroll time already, but all of them have other great fics to peruse. If you have recommendations of your own, feel free to add to this list! Any and all 2003 fics welcome!

This post: take two. Since my computer died in the middle of it. One thing in the little c!Wilbur enthusiast nook of the analysis community I’ve seen is stress about how the narrative will handle him after his revival. Arguably the worst thing is for him to be the ultimate end-all-be-all villain because it erases a lot of depth from his character and reinforces WeirdChamp takes on him, making the narrative overall weaker.  But after reviewing Aliveburs speech today (Quackity stream Apr. 12), I want to alleviate a little of that stress. There’s a lot of quotes and nudges cc!Wilbur has been making, in-character, to Revivebur getting a redemption arc.  First and foremost is Ghostbur’s “A villain is just a hero you haven’t convinced yet,” which is self explanatory.  In that same stream, Ghostbur also tells Ranboo he’s been reading memoirs Alivebur wrote during his time... well... alive. In this discussion he directly says “He was okay, most of the time.” But what about the speech today? Well... “Even if everyone has this good side that you’re talking about, then anyone who wants to prove it has to show their dark side first.”  and “If you have a revolution, everyone will hate you. You will sacrifice everything, and you will lose everything you’ve ever had, but you’ll come back and everything will be changed.” Fuck, man. Even Eight, the song that inspired c!Wilbur, points to a redemption arc. Just look at some of the lyrics in context of his conversation with Quackity, it’s almost 1:1. I suggest you listen to it even if you don’t plan on reading into the roleplay, it’s a banger ass song in general in addition to providing wonderful insight and needs more love.  I have faith in cc!Wilbur as a writer because he doesn’t seem to just say things on accident. He’s very purposeful with the way he acts, just look at the versatility he’s shown. He’s really only played one character (or versions of that one character), but you can clearly tell which point in the story he’s portraying just by the way he speaks. L’manberg-era c!Wilbur, Pogtopia-era c!Wilbur, and Ghostbur are extremely distinct while still being consistent with past framework. It’s almost startling how stable his characterization of President Soot has remained over actual months of roleplay, and I don’t think he would abandon it all to please the audience. We all know the last thing cc!Wilbur Soot wants to do is please the audience /j  I choose to believe that Wilbur knows what he’s doing because he’s good at it. And hopefully this can relieve a little bit of that fear we c!Wilbur enthusiasts feel because of Twitter. Lookin out for y’all :]

Huh... interesting twist in the pokeani episode today...
We really whipped through the third part of the battle between Leon and Ash. Given that both contenders were at half their complement or better, and expecting this to be a three-episode battle, I figured that we’d probably start knocking out pokemon rather quickly.
Rillaboom proved to be a tough nut to crack for Ash, as the grass-type knocked out not one, but two of Ash’s contenders. Most of this was accomplished flexible uses of its Drum Beating attack, which, as pointed out by Professor Oak, seemed to work as well as vine whip in terms of versatility. Even Ash’s Bulbasaur, watching on with the rest, had to acknowledge it. That said, I imagine that this is pretty atypical for how Drum Beating works, given how impressed everyone was. I suppose if Ash can twist moves around to do things they’re not meant to, so can Leon.
With Dragonite and Sirfetch’d down and out thanks to Rillaboom, Ash had to turn back to Dracovish, who still had that weird thing going on with its spikes. It proved helpful again, letting Dracovish wrangle two of Drum Beating’s massive roots and destroy them before they could finally take down the simian terror, spurred on by the spirit of Sirfetch’d as they charged in for the final blow.
It was very nice to see our best boy, Clemont, get a brief moment in the spotlight as they witnessed the end of that match-up considering the prominence both Sirfetch’d and Dracovish had in the series’ visit to Lumiose City.
Sadly, we failed to get any sort of meaningful explanation for these weird glowing spikes/fins on Dracovish before they were punted into the earth by the seemingly invincible Cinderace. It seems like the Libero ability is just as gnarly in the anime as it is in the games.
Of course, with Ash being down to his final contender, Pikachu was sent out to finish up the match. I wholly expected the initial match-up that begun this battle to resume between Cinderace and Pikachu, but Leon is impulsive as Ash apparently, as noted by Dawn earlier in the match.
Leon instead opted to sub in his ace, Charizard, to gigantamax against Pikachu’s massive electric Z-Move. And that’s were the episode went off the rails...
I knew something was going to be up with Eternatus, given last week’s preview, but I wasn’t sure it would have anything to do with the actual match. I figured it might just start causing havoc elsewhere and cut the closing ceremonies short. But apparently, Ash and Leon’s eagerness to outdo each other with the massive power between Gigantamax Wildfire and 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt caused some sort of reaction that replicated, at least locally, the Darkest Day, a phenomenon that we probably didn’t expect to return after having dealt with it much earlier in the series.
I suspect that Eternatus might actually do something to stop it this time, being a loyal pokemon now to Leon, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it did something to make the situation worse again too. Either way, it’s safe to say... the finals are on hold for the moment.
This might be a light blessing for Ash, as it really looked like he wasn’t going to be able to pull this battle off based on how he had to put everything into that final attack, and still had a semi-fresh Cinderace to go up against after. If Leon is as impulsive and cocksure as I think he is though, even if Leon has to exhaust his pokemon to stop any sort of impending disaster, he’ll probably still ask Ash to continue the match, thus evening the odds slightly.
If that’s the case, I wonder if this really will count as a true victory for Ash, given the fact he would not only have that handicap, but the use of all three major pokemon enhancements in one match. If they’re going to write Ash winning... I’d rather the writers have done it in a way that actually legitimized Ash’s skills...
I suppose we’ll see how they handle this next week, but so far, I’m pretty worried for how they’re going to end these finals.
