Do you think gege knew what he was doing with those volume sukuita covers? I know he's read a lot of lgbt+ manga, and i know hes a fan of reigun as well. And i remember somehwrew gege said Sukuna was based on Knives.

Hi anon!

Well there's a lot of factors to consider here. The popularity of ships at times can get authors to allude to certain things and deliver material. This is what we call fanservice. Afaik, sukuita is popular in the east (not as popular as goyuu but close, I'm sure these recent chapters close to the ending gave skit a big boost though because they are insane lol), so it could be that Gege was just adding more for the sake of us– shippers.

But then... sukuita is pretty central to the story and is nearly the guiding force of it. The manga starts with them and ends with them. It lowkey reminds me of Naruto... and Sasuke and Naruto. Anyone who's read the manga or watched the anime knows just how crazy the author went on them and that their relationship was gay as hell. sukuita reminds me of them in some ways... rivals, stuck in a cycle of fighting each other, separated, lonely, one longs for power the other for friendship, sun and moon, soulmates, etc... especially the whole "reincarnated family makes it not gay" thing lmfao (because sasunaru too got the "reincarnated family" *brothers, in this case* treatment 💀). I like to say that the gay is too strong when it has to be explained away like this. As is usual, not one sn shipper gave a shit about it, just like sukuita shippers don't as well. Hell, we even embrace it because why not.

It could be that Gege just might be into them too. After all, they did drop 265 (the sukuita date chapter) on sukuita week, and they had expressed their admiration for certain BL stories. The biggest evidence is that sukuita's general relationship in canon is... certainly something. I doubt anyone would be planning for their protagonist/antagonist to have raw tension and to be so tied and obsessed with each other. I swear sukuita could've easily had that "reincarnated lovers" trope because the amount of things Sukuna and Yuuji share is far too deep for it to be "just enemies" or "just ????"

Fun fact is that I've started reading one work Gege had expressed admiration for and the relationship the characters had was quite intriguing and unique. The work in question is "Behind me, Nikaidou" a short story in the collection "Captivated, by You" and I suggest you give it a read yourself too. Let's say that the vibes are there and I have to admit it does remind me of sukuita a bit.

I also wanted to read "The Night Beyond Tri-cornered Window" (the work which Gege had also cited they liked) but can't get around to doing it because I'm busy.

Could they be canon? I say they could. They have a unique relationship, insane chemistry and Gege easily could've spun a crazy side plot about Yuuji being like Sukuna's past lover or something (they could've given us a spin-off set in the Heian era) and the plot could've ended the same way it ended originally. All in all, it's quite plausible because there's so much stuff there in jjk about them that it drives me crazy at times.

thanks for breaking down the fanon vx canon part. i feel the same way about naruto even tho sasunaru is my fave. i still feel like the way the relationships were handled wasn't necessarily fair and felt cheap.

i also agree that if ppl made it clear that they like fanon, it would be easier. ngl i don't really see how fanom supersedes canon/source material at all but i guess lalaland is appealing for some lol

For me, the only times I like fanon over canon is when I feel like the conclusion to a work does not match the narration we were set up with. Like, if mdzs had swerved into a cql ending, I’d have thrown a fit. With Naruto, you’re not gonna tell me I read 500 chapters of an unloved orphan learning how to build friendships and community just for the sequel to come out and tell me that he puts paperwork above his actual factual family. No fucking way am I accepting that cognitive dissonance, therefore I prefer fanon. I think my opinions are better than canon in this case (because the canon is suffering from weak writing), but they will never supersede canon because the og work is inevitably not my own creation.

I also like fanon if I can see an alternative sequence of events happening that canon opened up a possibility for, such as me not minding sasunaru because their relationship in canon is very intense to being almost all-consuming. I can even see the the reasoning behind why some ships are popular, such as fengqing or beefleaf. I simply reject trying to shoehorn those in as “canon” when they are very plainly and obviously not. Fun little “what ifs” can and should be just that: fun little “what ifs,” not a “secret canon” I have to try to backwards justify. A story is not a scientific experiment. You do not create a hypothesis on a source material you’ve yet to consume and then go to the actual source to justify it.

One Piece Fanfic Crossover Idea [includes LawLu]

Alright. So recently after having binge-reading a lot of Lawlu fanfic, and falling back into the rabbit hole that is One Piece. I have managed to brew up a really silly lawlu storyline that honestly is more law-centric than anything. Although it has a lot of romance elements, probably more than it should. But uh, it's not entirely focused on Lawlu? That’s what I get for thinking throwing in my past 3 OTPs from my previous fandoms and 1 very old one would be a great idea. =w=;;

And if that got your attention then buckle up this is gonna get slightly cracky and very long. Not much plot but plenty of detail lol

So the story starts with the Blackbeard battle on Whipper Island which still goes the same as canon. The only difference is that somehow Bepo, Shachi, Penguin and Ikkaku were the only ones in the crew to have survived the attacks. All of them escape with Law as in canon and regroup at a further away barren island or something. Not very detailed here.

Anyway, let’s just say a passing benevolent godly entity who favors Law (me lol) sees his situation, and decides to meddle as a way to help him out. They send Law a vision as a way to explain what will happen and why some random people will be suddenly appearing in front of them. That explanation being that they are sending possible new crewmates that will definitely be strong enough to survive the New World and help Law on his new quest for revenge against Blackbeard. Obviously Law protests against this at first but is unable to refuse since all these people were already being transported from outside their universe's domain  and can’t be returned because of their own universal rules. The Entity was just kind enough to nudge them on the path to the One Piece universe. When instead they could have continued hurling into the void between universes.

So after his forced agreement, various types of portals opened up, dropping off a whole bunch of confused people. A few of which were injured. A list also happened to appear that conveniently had information on them with their previous occupations and abilities. After everyone was done panicking, being suspicious, and first aid was administered. Law explained what the Lady Entity told him about their situations. He then asked them how they all got transported outside their universes. Here follows their situations:

[Naruto] SasuNaru

Naruto and Sasuke were sealing Kaguya away when she was able to get one last shot in that was a dimensional portal that had sucked in the two ninja while they were exhausted. They weren’t able to dodge it and Sakura was barely saved from being sucked in like they were since she was less exhausted and farther away from the portal.

[SVSSS] Moshang

LGJ got the drop on MBJ during the accession ceremony and SQH was able to distract him enough to get to MBJ. He used his return to home function while gripping MBJ as a last attempt to escape LQJ since MBJ was heavily injured. When Law arrived, Strange and Naruto were able to heal him enough not to die. Also during their explanation SQH realizes that he isn't bound by the system any more and has essentially been freed. Which means he can reveal his past life secrets if he wants too.

[MDZS] Wangxian

Their group had been ambushed by masked men during a very suspicious night hunt. They were caught in an array that had Wei Wuxian try to use a prototype transportation talisman to help escape or counteract it. Instead it made it into a very unstable dimensional travel array. The array that was used had something to do with time. [Include Wen Ning & Lan Sizhui]

[MCU] StrangeIron

All three were thrown out of their universe by the infinity stones themselves because the space/soul/time stones convinced the others to let them leave since they really liked Strange/Tony/Peter and didn’t want them to die. Initially only Tony was gonna use the stones but Peter joined in to help him and Stephen joined in to try to keep either of them from dying from power overload. So now they are banned from returning to their universe since they are supposed to be dead. That's the price for saving their universe. Also in this universe Tony had used a very low dose version of extremis to survive chest surgery after Siberia which is why he was able to survive the snap with the help of the other 2. This has Tony looking like late thirties.

After hearing their various situations, with all of them sounding very outlandish to the Heart Pirates, Law is both amazed and dreading having them all as possibly future crew members. But still Law throws out the offer of them joining his pirate crew and explains why it's a good idea. While explaining he also informs them about what this universe is like. Which includes devil fruits, the marines, the world government, the pirate era and the most famous pirates currently.

This in turn leads to Law’s bounty and infamy which also reveals Law’s newest quest for revenge against Blackbeard for killing most of his crew and destroying the Polar Tang. Sasuke, Wei Wuxian, and Mobei jun can relate to wanting revenge. Collectively they agree to join Law since the Heart pirates were the only ones that knew about their otherworldly situations and abilities. Plus none of them had any interest in being recruited or kidnapped by the Marines for their powers. Also not one of them would have been able to live normally without attracting some sort of attention, besides maybe SQH on his own.

After this Law goes over the list that Entity gave him. Which also included the tip of rejoining the StrawHats as an Ally again. Since they are eventually going to have a run-in with Blackbeard. Plus they needed time for his new crew to figure out how they fared against the fighters here. As well as get over the culture shock they're gonna have being in a new world. And possibly learn how to sail a normal boat and not a submarine. At least until they buy or steal a new one.

Luffy becomes super jealous of Law for having 2 ninjas on his crew and tries to convince one of them to join his crew. Naruto doesn’t want to separate from Sasuke, and Sasuke would rather die than join a crew with 2 Narutos.

Franky & Ussop are amazed by the stuff that Tony and Peter make considering they do not use cola and are untraceable to the Marines. Tony was horrified by the fact that Cola could be used essentially like oil and that their phones were living organisms. Created various devices by hand and maybe recreated the Arc reactor to power their new Boat/Sub?

New Boat/Sub was made by a combination of Tony, Peter, Ikakku, Franky & Naruto who used his clones as workers.

Stephen gets his hands fixed with the help of Law and Naruto. Law with taking the pins out and attaching the nerves. And Naruto helped to regrow them and heal them. [hand wavy medicine]

On the boat when people are having relationship problems they go to wangxian since they were the only ones in a relationship and technically married with a son. MBJ is the first one to ask LWJ about how to court a cultivator since they are both introverted.

People confuse Tony & Steph as a couple because they parent Peter and think he is their son. This is before they actually get together.  

Peter, LSH, Naruto, and Sasuke are seen as the Kid group. Although Law does treat them as adults when needed. Everyone tends to be protective of them. MBJ & Law are Sasuke’s favorite crewmates because they are all cat-like.

Have a whole thing about trying to revive WN back to life since his body is in a state of stasis and his soul is bound to his body by force. Get his body to work again like Frankenstein. Group project between WWX, Law, Stephen, and MBJ. Possible outcome that WN turns into a Demon since he is saturated in Resentful energy.

SQH and Peter are the only ones to have an idea about the One Piece and Naruto worlds. SQH had his OTPs SasuNaru and LawLu while Peter had his favorite characters aka Sas, Naru, Law and Lu. Decide together to try and help the couples along with SQH taking LawLu and Peter getting SasuNaru. Peter has no clue how to, so just suggests ways to hang out.

Law while an introvert and masking as a Stern stoic badass. Is very much a secret chaotic dumbass when provoked by Luffy and others. Also he can’t seem to seriously fight Luffy without a good reason otherwise it turns into a slapstick fight lol. Is willing to wear stupid clothes/costumes although some might be in his eccentric style.

Shachi is a swordsman but only because Law needed someone to train and spar against while growing up and traveling through the North sea before they took on the grandline. He's a lot more comfortable with fighting hand to hand like a brawler/street fighter. Although he's also pretty good at using blunt weapons [bats, knuckles]. Possibly have him learn how to use armament haki to coat his fists and weapons. Maybe learn with Naruto and Peter to fight better with hand to hand techniques and parkour techniques aka move around larger opponents like Peter. [All the flipping and jumping] Possibly learn how to use advanced armament haki techniques with the help of Naruto and Sasuke. Similar to Sage techniques and Sakura’s strength techniques.

Penguin joins up with Shachi to learn better hand to hand combat. Can't seem to get the hang of using a weapon so at some point asks Stephen if he can learn his magic? Stephen gives it a try at teaching him. Penguin can only use a few magic spells since he isn't a genius like Stephen but tries to be creative with them. [Portals, Mandala shields, Eldritch whips, Energy sword, pure energy saw blasts, possible water element?] Help with MBJ, and Peter somehow, learns to water bend using magic.

Ikkaku gets trained by Tony, SQH, and surprisingly Sasuke. She focuses on hand to hand combat, gun/sniper training, using daggers, and figuring out how to use observation haki. She focused on presence sensing and intent sensing that she wishes to develop into future vision. Trains to make sure her concentration can't be easily broken, plus to increase her endurance and stamina. Possibly ask Stephen to teach her how to transmute items so she never runs out of bullets or without a dagger and some mild telekinesis to throw them/manipulate them. 

Law trains with his new crew mates to better use his devil fruit and his own body. Possibly have him unlock his own Conquerors haki like Luffy. Maybe have WWX give him some tips on using Jiang techniques since they were more adaptable while he spars LWJ & LSH to learn proper sword fighting. While also learning how to fight either bare handed or with only his fruit abilities with Strange and Sasuke.

WWX totally treats Law like a little brother since his tsundere tendencies remind him of JC. While WN likes him since he reminds him of WQ and his harsh bedside manner but caring actions for those he loves. Peter, Naruto, and Sasuke are new ducklings to teach and protect in WWX’s eyes. LWJ respects Law's authority and experiences, and at times acts like an advisor for battles [war experience]. Naruto/Peter = cool older friend while LSH treats him like a senior disciple. MBJ is willing to follow only because of SQH but watches Law like a hawk and forces him to grow stronger to be worthy of following him [demon stuff]. Stephen treats him as a colleague because both are genius surgeons and Protectors. Tony likes to mess with him and treats him like a youngsters aka Peter. Same with the other OG heart pirates although gives slightly more respect to Ikkaku for withstanding their bullshit [Sees Pepper/May in her]. Sasuke and Law at times butt heads because Sasuke isn't good with authority figures, and while Law understands that, it can be frustrating since he is the authority for this crew.

MBJ was the one to push Law to train to get stronger. Reason 1) cause it the demon way to only be the subordinate of someone if they were stronger than them. Reason 2) sees that Law needs to be pushed after having fallen into depression for failing his previous crew. So decides to motivate him by fueling him with Anger, Revenge and Spit like any proper demon would. Sasuke and WWX help at this point because they understand. This also causes the other OG hearts to also start training which leads to others offering their help for training.

While shopping for clothes SQH and WWX go ham looking for clothes. SQH convinces WWX to try on these great form fitting black coats and pants with low heeled boots. Also tells him that they aren't obligated to wear multiple layers so they can experiment with fashion now. WWX is very excited by this both from not having to be so formal and to tease LWJ. Tony and Peter go and decide they want to look the part of actually being pirates and drag Stephen along. They give Stephen the full pirate look with Levi turning into an overcoat. MBJ decides to wear the least amount of clothes since the seas are very hot and he can't be bothered to wear layers here. LWJ on the other hand struggles to find clothes that he is comfortable wearing. Gets help from SQH after he and WWX are finished with their choices. Sasuke and Naruto go and try to find the best reinforced clothes they can buy but choose to alter the few clothes they had to fit in.

Shang Qinghua: System gives him the ability to have a RPG game system interface to use in real life for completing PIDW storyline. He gains unlimited inventory space, Analysis ability, Spotify, Library, Map, Internet.

KARAOKE/DANCE NIGHTS SQH goes ham with the Spotify ability because it has modern songs which has Peter and Tony joining in. Everyone gets curious about the different music which ends up with them having Karaoke/dance nights where they sing or have dance offs to different songs. Even Law finds songs that he enjoys and is willing to sing to although rarely. Shachi and Penguin during those times are always his back up dancers or singers by force.

Itafushi (Jujutsu Kaisen)

It's my number 1 right now, like i love them so much! Their ship is really cute and i love the contrast between them and how they work so well together as friends and more! I'm always giggling and shit when i think about them even if they're doomed by the narrative :(

Zolu (One Piece Live Action/Animanga)

I really liked their dynamic after watching the live action so i mainly ship opla! zolu, but any content of this ship is cute and catches my interest! This ship literally made me write fanfics again lol More Zolu please!

Miyusawa/Misawa (Ace of Diamond)

Miyusawa my beloved ❤️ The first time i watched this anime it had been an instant ship, their chemistry is amazing, the pitcher/catcher dynamic is chef's kiss and just the development of their relationship throughout the show was the highlight for me! I watched everything again recently and i still love this ship very much, fave fave fave :')

They are everything honestly! The angst of it all and their beautiful relationship is just aaaah and the show is INCREDIBLE?? Whether it's friendship or more, they love each other so much. In my head they're canon, i mean after what Lu Guang did, for me that's just proof of his love for Cheng Xiaoshi... they make me ill

Renga (Sk8 the Infinity)

Sk8 was the anime of the season when it came out, the serotonin was just high with this one, especially during covid time. Reki and Langa's friendship was the cutest thing to watch and it was so genuine and then ep 7 happened and the ship just sailed really hard for me! So many cute moments while a beautiful relationship blossomed in front of our eyes!! Love!!

Kazurei (Buddy Daddies)

A new favorite from last year! The premise of the show was so engaging to me when it first came out and even though i knew Kazuki and Rei weren't going to be canon, we were still fed so well? Like Queerplatonic, same-sex parentality, friends to lovers trope??? we got everything and more, especially last episode like omg they're canon idc!!

Dreamling (The Sandman)

Fell in love with this ship instantly with just one episode and little content... the fandom got my back though, i was well fed and shipped them even harder thanks to all the fanarts and fanfics! i want season 2 right now and more of them!!

Not my first wlw ship but definitely my favorite! From the first episode i knew they were soulmates and i wanted more of them together! The show gave us everything we wanted and i'm glad i got to witness it :)

Satosugu (Jujutsu Kaisen)

They're not Itafushi but they are Itafushi in some ways?? like parallels we can't ignore. It's a big ship in the fandom but i'm not as invested as many stsg shippers are, though i really like the ship, i read fanfics about them and i love their story in the first part of season 2! So much angst though...

Nobamaki (Jujutsu Kaisen)

I love them together, i think their ship is cute and has a lot of potential! I don't obssess with them enough and i should read more fanfics, but they're amazing so they stay at the top of my list!

I'll start first:

Most popular ships/crack ships kinda sucks for me.

Even NaruHina I have sum problems, but I still ship it because it's cute af.

I think the most overrated are (you already know) SasuNaru and ShikaTema...

I just feel like they are waay too overrated 😭 🙏...

Another unpopular opinion is Jiraiya.

Idk but the past week I grew to really dislike him... Because of his prevert-ness...

The last one is that I feel like Naruto and spoilers had one of the best friendship development, I was and is still a massive fanboy of their team.

Idk if I really have unpopular opinions.... Maybe that people should care less about ships and what is canon or not because in the end it's just ninjas printed on paper. (Idk I always see people arguing about what is canon like it's a Bible and the novels or filler don't count but I think that you can just chose what to take into account when you write a fic or make a Fanart or just talk about it because not everyone will like every part of the story. And there can be different versions of the same story. It really doesn't matter.)

I also really like the movie The Last !! The animation is very pretty !! And i love the begining and Hinata being shy and cute but also brave and akzjj2kzjj1jzbzn

My most unpopular opinion would probably that I think that overall Naruto is pretty badly written, but it's something I like about it so idk. And also my poor girl Hinata should get a breast reduction, I worry for her back. I don't really have unpopular opinions lol.

Also I'm at the fight between itachi and Sasuke, and Jiraya just died. (Which... I don't care that much because I never really liked him. But it made me sad for Naruto because their relationship is very beautiful.)

The constant feeling they're not good enough for the other, that they're both burnt out in different ways in where they have 'nothing'. Shit hurts. The lyrics don't fully fit but the vibe hurts me to think about it in regards to them so I'm inflicting it on yall.

Fear & Delight - The Correspondents

This song makes it on to every single OTP playlist and this is no exception. "I don't show it but I quiver whenever you come near. And I cannot decipher between the thrill and the fear. I wanna stop it but like it too much to let it stop here. It's wrong but I want you tonight." Insane. Absolutely insane. Cid being madly in love with a man who can and would tear him apart if he had even 1% less of self control over himself, and him being completely into it. Monsterfucker Cid is so real. This is what I would consider to be the most 'love song' of this playlist and should hammer home how I think Cid feels about Vincent.

Victim - Mili

not so much a valenwind song as Vincent & Lucrecia - not x, mind you. "When will it be my turn, my turn. I'm not just some tragic victim. But when will I learn, I learn. It's just me in this world, I'm alone, I'm complete." The aura around the song makes me think of him emerging from the floor of the basement, post experiment, covered in blood and awake as Chaos.

All Around Me - Flyleaf

This would be the song I would attribute as Vincent's feelings towards Cid. The song itself has religious backstory (it is literally a religious song) and I think that holds true for them. "Holding on to what I'm feeling. Savoring this heart that's healing" Two broken souls trying to fix each other.

sorry for the long wait. I think I'm too sleep deprived to understand if you ask for specific names or general types of ships haha

the two media pieces that were my entrance point to fandom were naruto and harry potter, so I feel it's been inevitable for me to develop strong preference for some form of enemies-to-lovers (drarry, dramione, pansy/ron, sasunaru fits a bit less here, but they had their share of conflict. I wonder now I never looked into gaara/naruto or other sand/leaf pairings but I was like 11 at the time and didn't know anything yet lol)

tbh because I'd been in hp fandom for the entirety of my formative years and beyond, and it's been enormous, I never truly got engaged in other fandoms nearly close as much, because I had all I needed covered there and it's been familiar.

but in general terms, enemies-to-lovers/ ships with a lot of conflict and headbutting are my go to (sophie/howl, zutara, catradora...)

What makes this even more pathetic is that Im not even exaggerating, they've gotten so blatantly hypocritical their even trying to use the Minato one-shot as foreshadowing for Bsa, keep in mind these are the same people who claim to want something new and different, are using a one shot set in the past for an OG ship that happened WAY before Bsa even existed all because of the vortex symbolism and the sequel just happened to have the name vortex in it they think its some kind of parallel/foreshadowing for the pair...which is utterly ridiculous but this aint the post for that, but just friendly reminder the Shippuden in the Naruto sequel meant Hurricane chronicles/legends and the Uzumaki clan has always been symbolized with whirlpools/vortex way before Boruto was even thought of, hell their clan symbol is a literal swirl like a vortex...nuff said, this aint the post to delve deeper into that.

Im mentioning this purely to point out the hypocrisy of wanting something 'different' yet using every possible OG thing thats even remotely similar to boost your ship and show how canon it is, yet KawaSara and BoruSumi cant because then its Naruto 2.0.

Their newest thing lately I've been seein the most is that BoruSara is like MinaKushi and NaruHina because Sarada stalks Boruto etc, so I thought I'd bring this reality check back since these same ppl talkin about other shippers just wanting Naruto 2.0 again.

PS: This aint the post to go into this either, but like I mentioned earlier that Bsa is actually the most unoriginal new gen ship, I could literally make a separate post showing how that is and how KawaSara and BoruSumi are actually the more unique ships of the options. You may have noticed I havent mentioned Ksu at all in this...thats because its a joke atp that I nor anybody besides their shippers take seriously, but if I must address it its literally just poorly done SS and SH with a dash of SK so why would I even bother with such a joke of a ship that exists solely to play keep away for Bsa but not because theres any legitimate basis in canon and thrives purely off headcanon and Hondas rewriting of events that amounted to nothing because, shocker, the manga wasnt building anything between them, so Honda created a completely made up foundation for nothing that they scrapped immediately and never acknowledged it again. So much for 'the anime is the complete version of the manga' yea funny how they backtracked alot of their mistakes when they saw the manga contradicting it, cuz at the end of the day the manga is the MAIN source material, so what happens there is more canon than anything the anime does afterwards.

But why would I NOT take the chance to share more OTPs that I love, especially if I can dip into some of my favorite non canon ships too and now ive got some new ones and from other media as well. 🤣 the limitations of only 10 though is always hard. Here are another 10 of my current favorite ships I obsess over. I won't include any from the post above though even though I'm still in love with ALL of them too. Some of my favorite couples, 10 of them, in no particular order:

Victuuri (Yuri On Ice, Anime)

I watched this anime and fell in love with it and their chaotic but adorable and sweet relationship SO HARD. And the relationship is right there in canon which is SO NICE to see in anime where it's just another small portion of their lives. The way they are both obsessed with each other too 😍

Edwin and Royai (FMAB, Anime)

Both canon. Royai is canon, argue with the wall! Lol I guess Royai is like half canon, but whatever. Explicit confirmation is not needed to know those 2 are married. Ed and Winry are the peak childhood friends to lovers arc in the most adorable. Plus she is a badass mechanic. HIS badass mechanic. The way their love grew organically is adorable and so sweet. They take such good care of each other. And Royai are the epitome of a married couple. They also are both so equally badass and have such infinite and complete trust in each other?? It's AMAZING. The way they literally trust each other with their lives and their mental well being. The way Roy literally trusts her to be his eyes when needed also? He literally calls her his queen. I love them so much

Clexa (The 100, TV Show)

CANON yet they did us dirty with the bury your gays trope. But like the "I'm only soft for you" bullshit they had going on. UGH I ate it up so hard. Lol they are both such extreme badasses, morally Grey anti heroes. OF COURSE THEIR RELATIONSHIP WAS INTENSELY PERFECT TOO! I love the bellarke ship with the best of them too, but out of all Clarke's relationships, the best and my favorite will always be with Lexa. She loved her SO MUCH and the way Lexa always protected her 😭

SasuNaru (Naruto, Anime)

Not canon, I know, but I'm obsessed with the ship anyway because it SHOULDVE BEEN CANON. I could write whole essays over how painfully gay and queer coded these 2 are. Canonically soulmates and everything. Lol their characters and their relationship was the most flushed out in the show and therefore, them being shipped together just makes sense. Especially with how homoromantic and angsty half the shit they did was.

Shakadolin (Stormlight Archive, Book)

Not canon, but the author said it would've been in a different timeline and that even in the current on, Adolin and Shallan (the Canon couple) probably would've been willing to go for it. Lol you can't convince me otherwise thay they aren't both lowkey in love with Kaladin. They invite him to be their bodygaurd on all their dates for a reason! 😂

HuaLian (TGCF, Donghua)

I've read these books for the first time recently and now these 2 live rent free. Like honestly, the OBSESSION with each other. The adorableness. The respectfulness of boundaries. The ICONIC one liners dropped. The do anything cross any line be wherever you need devotion. The way one of them is the sweetest human alive and the other embodies the "I hate everyone but you" trope. Lol the awkwardness of the positions they find themselves in. The jealousy of each other that they make up themselves. Lol the slow burn is painful!! It's been literally 800 years just tell each other you love each other and get married!!!!

So many ATLA ships lol but I love a good Zukka, Sukka, Zutara, Kataang, Korrasami, Rangshi, Suzukki as my ot3 love too lol (TV Show)

There is a good mix of canon and non canon ships here lol what can I say, I'm easy to please! But I will say that it speaks to my Sapphic soul in the best way that the wlw ships are CANON! Thank you ATLA universe for that blessing. And they are canon in the most amazing of ways. Korrasami will always be my favorite. The bi icons those girls are and they way they are EVERYTHING and are so freaking sweet and cute and BADASS.

Solangelo (PJO, Book)

Loves of my life, this relationship is grumpy x sunshine trope personified. They are so sweet, so cute, so perfect for each other it hurts. I clearly have a dynamic I love here. Lol because they are also both insanely badass. Plus the ghost king who controls death and his medic doctor boyfriend? Yes please. Literally made for each other and the way they help each other heal and be happy 🥺

The Iron Triangle, aka Yizhi, Shimin, and Zetian (Iron Widow, Book)

Love triangles done correctly and ended perfectly, aka bisexually. Lol to quote the author, "Iron Widow is just 400 pages of Zetian and Shimin suffering nonstop while Yizhi has the most bisexual time of his life." Lmfao. They are the morally Grey anti heros and lowkey villains in love badass scifi/fantasy cast of characters who ALL fall in love with each other and are only stronger for it. And it's a true triangle, where all 3 are in love and feel more complete for it. There is no choosing.

Darrow & Virigina, and Sevro & Victra (Red Rising, Book)

Unhinged characters falling in love. What could be better. They both match energies so well, bring out the best in each other and fight so hard for each other or sometimes fight each other too. These books are so good, but so brutal. Lol the relationships follow suit. But I freaking LOVE them. I cried so much reading it all and yet I'm obsessed and have been since I first read them. It'll probably never stop.

SNS and BakuDeku comparisons are merely superficial in nature. Bakugou and Deku are nothing like Sasuke and Naruto, characterwise. Bakugou and Deku are simply buddies and rivals, you are right, there is no romantic subtext. In fact, it's so silly Bakugou is compared with Sasuke. Just because he is the protag's rival doesn't make him like Sasuke. Bakugo is hot headed, loudmouthed, and a bully. Sasuke is calm and composed and graceful. When he sees others bullying kids, he defends the kids. Like he did when Gaara and his siblings first arrived in Konoha for chuunin exams. Bakugou takes pleasure in being a nuisance lol. It's Todoroki who reminds me of Sasuke in fact, their personalities are similar. Sasuke's past is certainly much darker as compared but disposition wise, they are similar.

Naruto and Deku couldn't be more different. That they are both underdog protags doesn't make them similar. They will share some superficial similarities since they are both shounen protags so they will have character traits such as being hard working and ambitious, they will be the fated ones to resolve their world's conflicts, they would generally get along with people, inspire them, be selfless and have empathy. But that's pretty much about it.

Naruto in fact is an instinctive fighter, Deku is more analytical, he needs to consciously learn how to fight. They both work hard but their fighting styles and motivations are different. Naruto's goal is to be acknowledged so he doesn't feel ostracized, Deku wants to be a hero so he could be like All Might. Deku doesn't have Naruto's past, and one's past determines what kind of a person they will become. Their situations are different. Naruto is who he is because he is an orphan who never had the love or care of a family, not the case with Deku. He has a loving and supportive mum. Deku doesn't have Naruto's struggles, he also grew up in a largely peaceful society, Naruto grew up as an undesirable, his society actively kept him out of their circles. What does Deku know about that? Deku had friends growing up, he was part of a group, even if he was the quirkless loser in it. Naruto had no one. Naruto is guided by his emotions, Deku is guided by his ambition. His emotions are tied up in his ambition, Naruto's emotions are tied up with his tragic past. Naruto is a nuanced character who is struggling with his sexuality in a mindfully established heteronormative world, Deku is a straight dude who is having a typical cutesy high school het romance with a girl in a taken for granted het world. Where is the dilemma, where is the struggle, where is the anxiety, where is the rage? Deku is a pretty vanilla character, there aren't many layers to him, unlike Naruto. He is a mousy dude who largely conforms to society, Naruto is a non conformist (ending not considered), he is reactive and acts with his heart on his sleeve. Naruto was institutionally ostracized which shaped his personality, he became destructive and carried a lot of resentment for a long time, Deku is initially just a quirkless loser who doesn't have any resentment or darkness in his heart, he just wants to become strong so he could fight like All Might and have the glory bestowed on him, number one hero who helps people.

Honestly these comparisons are so shallow, it is clear they are made by fans who don't understand either one's character. Typical fandom stuff. Yes, I will say that Togata seems like a tribute to Naruto. Energy and design wise ie, also Togata is referred to as the shining sun, a good natured guy who wants to help people at the expense of his own life. And even though Amajiki is nothing like Sasuke characterwise, their designs (hair) and colour palettes are very similar. Togata and Amajiki are very close friends as well. Though there's no gay subtext.

Bnha is not dark and contemplative like Naruto and Shippuden, their world building is different. So naturally, their protags will be designed accordingly.

1.) most overrated character?

Itachi, definitely. i love him and his complexity and what he brings to the story but he is nooottttt the "hero" the greater fandom always claims he is (or the "hero" canon tries to portray him as)

5.) can kishi write romance?

yes he can. his problem is that he rarely writes female characters as their own people, which stints all of the canon relationships from achieving their real potential. but we can see from Sasuke and Naruto that he knows how to write devotion and unconditional love. I'm not sure if kishi really understands that romance is not necessarily the "kissy kissy here's a hundred roses and 30lbs of chocolate". I think he's uncomfortable writing that kind of relationship, which is where he confused himself into thinking he can't write romance. even with that, he wrote minato and kushina fine, and they have a pretty hearts and roses relationship. but sns is the greatest romance of all time so clearly,,,, lmaoooo

definitely shitty-ly written, and partially a shitty character. but I think it's more that kishi wrote her shitty-ly from the get-go. her intended purpose from her character was to be a plot device to show Naruto's undesirability, and thus did succeed in what she was inserted into the narrative to do. but after that she never developed a reason for the plot needing her, and thus is just kind of there and doesn't go through any major character arc- which for being one of the adjacent main characters is a glaring issue. we're told very early on that she was the smartest in team seven, and yet Sasuke was the one who placed highest in their class? in part one she was only ever written to be smart for plot convenience so kishi could write her out of the scene (tree climbing and the test exams), and then in part two her aptitude was only used to become a mini-tsunade (which conveniently feels like kishi gave up making her her own character and just copy-pasted). on paper, i love sakura. super strong, very stubborn, smart, secretly nurturing. but in the narrative she's constantly sidelined and turned downright pathetic the moment sasuke is around. she had potential, but kishi gave her no respect literally from the moment she was created.

Fun fact--Sasuke. I first saw him in the shounen jump magazine my friend had, and it was his chunin exam preliminary fight. My first experience seeing the curse mark. I didn't like it. So the anime came out and I immediately had a bias against him--wasn't upset when he 'died' in the land of waves...but over time slowly he grew on me. Now he's my fav and I cry every time I watch/read the land of waves arc. XD;;
