i know that everyone is really stuck on mary ann in this whole deal of the rat grinders just being kids/not deserving to die but one thing that i really got caught on was ruben saying "you were killing my friends, i had to psychic scream" as fig is wailing on him. cuz he's right.

the bad kids were downed several times in this battle, and if they didn't fight back they would have died. cuz that was the goal, to kill them, so the only way for them to survive is to kill the rat grinders right back. and yeah that sucks in the ethical scheme of things if you were hoping for a redemption arc (i kinda was too) but both parties were put in an impossible situation by shitty adults and the only way out was to kill eachother, the bad kids just happen to be better at what they do.

911 really is such a good reminder of the particularly kind of joy that is weekly, seasons-long shows with many episodes per season. every character gets a moment to shine even in a truncated season. the satisfaction of seeing characters grapple with stuff that happened YEARS ago. having multi-episode arcs and one-off arcs that are equally enjoyable. beach episodes (metaphorical). I know we're all saying this all the time but why can't more tv be like this

A lot of DCxDP AUs use the idea that the Lazarus Pits are just slightly fucked up Ectoplasm. I love this idea, but it does make me wonder what would happen to Ra's.

So, AU where Ra's dies, and they are confident he is going to stay dead this time. Yay! Except... Ra's turns into a ghost because of all that Ectoplasm.

It takes a while for them to realize this because he is keeping it quiet at first, gathering resources, planning, ect. Plus the bats don't really know anything about ghosts. (Yes, DC has ghosts, but they are like a different breed of ghost or something.)

Maybe they think there is a new player on the scene or something, but they don't think it is Ra's. They don't realize the truth till his plan is already in motion. Maybe he even overshadowed Damian?

Dying has somehow made Ra's into a worse enemy because this time they don't even know how to fight him. Luckily, the ghost hero Phantom is willing to help.

Danny and Damian are twins. Danny was killed by Damian obviously. The normal only one heir business.

When he was put into the pit. Either by a guilt ridden Damian or Talia late in the night. He vanished. Natural portal whipped him away. Right in the path of Jack and Maddie. They adopt the little 8 year old who has no memories of his past.

Normal stuff happens. Danny dies a second time becomes a halfa and befriends cujo.

Now cujo loves Danny and loves to visit him. Too bad cujo gets Damian confused with Danny. But hey. He had two people now. Double the pets.

One day Danny is playing with cujo and cujo unannounced decides his ppl need to meet.

Danny was clearly confused. First where is he? Cujo that was completely naughty behavior. Then there was a dude staring at him. A doppelgänger? Another clone? Like this dude looked nearly identical to him besides the eyes.

Now Damian. Damian recognizes Danny right away. Now he likely thinks this is a clone or something.
