i often think about the fact how it's culturally expected for parents to pierce their baby girls' ears in my country but my parents didn't do it and when i was only 4 my cousin had them done so i begged and begged and begged my parents to get mine done too. i had v little access to mass media and i couldn't read and i didn't go to school and didn't know when i was feeling cold and needed to put on a sweater but performing and embodying girlhood was SO important to me even at that age! fascinating

i have a lot of feelings and opinions about Velma's design changes through the years but genuinely there has been a very specific turn that i dislike in overly-feminizing her. like Guess Who is the closest to the original 1969 Hanna-Barbera style in years where i actually come close to enjoying the content and she just... no longer looks right. her hips are too wide or her waist is too small and she just doesn't feel like Velma Dinkley anymore. i dunno.

It’s such a shame to me when cis characters with characteristics normally assigned to the opposite gender are widely headcanoned to be transgender. Not to take away from trans stories, but it’s reductive to say “you have male characteristics yet are a girl in the story, so you must be transgender” and vice versa. Gendered labels are fucking stupid. Let me have my masculine girls and feminine men. In my opinion it’s much more brave to a man be into “feminine” things or be read more as “feminine” and still say they’re a man than to actually be a woman.
Gender is social construct. We couldn’t even decide if pink was the boy color or the girl color between centuries. I just think if we let characters like things and have characteristics that aren’t hard in fast in “masculine” or “feminine” territories than maybe it reflect better on the world.

and like at first glance mando armor all looks strikingly similar but then you look closer and you realize theres so much variation like even just in the helmet designs you have different little variations in the visor shape, the fucking "cheek indent" shape, the forehead, the ear pieces, etc and then it comes down to like well how much of that can be personal customization, and then what can you potentially say about the person inhabiting the armor by just the armor design? if the helmet is their face, then what does the helmet portray about their personality? but then i also love the idea of like actual mandalorian families who pass on certain armor characteristics like maybe this one family carries on this one specific visor shape or whatever, so despite it being armor you can still somehow see familial resemblance between them. idk i just think its neat. lol

Here's a question about being trans and stuff: How do I figure out my gender?
For context, I recently figured out I was trans (these first few months of therapy have been very productive). And it's strange because I (amab) know I want a different name and a different look, and I am heavily considering taking estrogen to make myself look more androgynous/feminine, but I don't think I consider myself a woman. I think he/him pronouns still fit me, but I wouldn't mind they/them or she/her. And I know these feelings might change, but they're a little overwhelming atm. Did you have a similar experience, and if so, how'd you deal with that?
remind yourself that your pronouns are literally the easiest thing to pivot on it they arent working for you. maybe youre just not comfortable being called "she" yet, or maybe it genuinely just isn't a fit for you, but you shouldnt be afraid to at least try them on. an easier place to test this out than, say, a voice chat, would be in a game lobby. web fishing has been pretty big lately, so you could boot into a game like that, slap on a "she/her" or a "they/them", and wear it for a bit. see how it feels. and if theyre not workin out, stay back on he/him and take estrogen anyway!
frankly, estrogen has a lot of neuroprotectant enzyme-making chemicals in it so even it you just became a gender non-conforming boy, it could still do you a lot of good to start. dont force yourself to think that HRT is reserved for people switching teams from Da Boyz to Da Girlz and vice versa.

Its not a big issue at all like it doesnt make me Upset but. I know its all in good fun but If people could refrain from calling My dirkjake lesbians pls😭
My designs of them both being gay men with their femininity on display and how their arcs are About the fact theyre both not “the right kind of man” and having to grapple with the idea that they can still Be Men without having to meet cisheteronormative expectations or perpetuate negative ideals is like the whole thing with them both even Existing as narrative devices considering bro and grandpas entire deals Hsfkdj
It just rubs me the wrong way because im a trans gay man and i draw dirk like me! It feels a little odd to me i guess. That people see them portrayed more feminine and assume that. Im not trying to do a “get the sapphics AWAY from me” its just .. theres so many canonical lesbians in homestuck HELP and you wouldnt say that on a drawing where theyre both cis would you? Because then theyre totally completely men. IDK felt weird to me for ppl to say that about the explicitly gay man character when hes portrayed as more feminine but esp as a visibly trans guy
I know he does look like a lesbian tho HDSHFJ ive thought of drawing jokes between him and jane about it. But it doesnt mean hes not a man. Thats kind of a point about my dirk design with him being one of the most overtly masculine characters in the whole comic (same with roxy but w being feminine while i draw her with a traditionally masculine build) all about the juxtaposition of your expectations for the way people draw these characters given their gender identities in the comic.. fuckery about the body and presentation and traditional gender ideals going on over here🤔
If somebody called my callieroxy “gay men” or “yaoi” because i draw them both with more masculine builds Id throw hands. Itd be On Site 😐
Like i said its not a huge deal but eeeeh. Scratching my butt. Dont say that abt my dirk pls 👍

Is everyone willingly ignoring it or when are we going to realize this petty label discourse has always been rooted in misogyny. This started long before Bi Lesbians. Some of you are just too new or simply never paid enough attention to realize the history of this hatred of lesbians. Do any of you remember?
First it was "Butches aren't valid" because they were invading wlw spaces with their "masculinity"
Then it was moved onto: "Trans women aren't valid" because actually they were the ones invading wlw spaces with their "masculinity" The exact same arguement being used against cis women as well.
Then "Pan/Bi women aren't valid" because your attraction to men or anyone other than a woman doesn't belong in wlw spaces.
Then it was "Nonbinary lesbians aren't valid" because if you're "not a woman" by my definition you're invading wlw spaces.
"Asexual/Aro women aren't valid" because your lack of "real" attraction to women doesn't belong in wlw spaces.
"Lesboys aren't valid" because you are invading wlw spaces with your "masculinity"
"Bi/Pan lesbians aren't valid" because your attraction to men or anyone other than a woman doesn't belong in wlw spaces.
Oh wait? Where have we heard those last two before? Wasn't everyone arguing about those SAME issues with Butches/Trans wlw and Pan/Bi wlw?
Yes, exactly. Would any of you take ONE look back and realize this is only repetition of problems we have already decided don't dictate our identities?
They say, "You're not a real lesbian unless you do this and that and even if you do that you'll never be good enough." No matter what lesbains do, there will always be a problem. Why? Because this isnt about being a lesbian, this isnt about women, this is rhetoric started by terfs and it will never be anything more.
Sure, you can follow their rules to feel valid, but you'll never be good enough. You're an invader too because they'll sprinkle in little things to feed the insecurities and rules that THEY fucking created.
You're not a real lesbian unless you're a "gold star lesbain" meaning you've never dated or been attracted to a man. You're not a real lesbian unless you're feminine. You're not a real lesbian unless you hate masculinity.
Which is just translation for: You're not a real wlw unless you hate men and don't deviate from gender norms. And, WHO would've thought! Is exactly what terfs want.
They sink their claws into the newer generations because they don't remember what our community has had to go through, all they see is the fake issues created and they think it's a threat because they're being fed "This is what's valid and this is what's not" and it seems like it's never going to end because women being anything other than passive and simple with their identities are immediately taken as a threat to the community by those who are insecure and need to demand the exclusion of anyone who doesn't follow their rules to feel like theyre part of a group.
Anti-Bi/Pan Lesbians have become sheep because they only surround themselves with online discourse instead of the real issues LGBTQ people face and in their attempt to keep a "clean community" They're more unwelcomed than the people they tell to kill themselves. So caught up in fake problems others or themslves have made up that they fail to grasp the simplest of concepts: Labels DO NOT exist in real life. Labels are created to help people describe how they feel or identify. They are not and have NEVER been a final definition.
Labels are worn HOWever and WHENever the owner feels like it. They're not collars. They're not cages. You can't use them as such. You can't use them against us.
When? WHEN? When did we decide that a label- A WORD- matters MORE than the real life feelings that real life people are experiencing?
Why did we dehumanize the ability to feel attraction and expression?

my totally 100% correct opinion on which haikyuu ships would go canon if it were heterosexual
Kagehina: yes. regardless of which of them were a girl. however they would not get together within the canon of the show but have 1 or 2 almost kisses and then after the series ended you'd find out they got married. Like there'd be 2 lines total talking about them getting married and thats it.
Tsukkiyama: yes. regardless of which of them were a girl. they'd be together at the start of the series and be a relatively boring couple basically just there to make weird heteronormative quips (if yamaguchi were the girl, tsukki would roll his eyes a lot at having to go shopping, etc, and if tsukki were the girl, yamaguchi would be way too insecure about other guys looking at her) BUT late in the series there would be a short arc dedicated to them breaking up and then immediately getting back together and I hate to tell you, it would be cute.
Daisuga: my heart and soul - not in any fucking universe. I dont think there would even be jokes or innuendos about it. I think if Suga were the girl there would even be moments of Daichi like straight up not realizing it. "wdym you cant change with us???" bitches are the Pillars of Reliability for Karasuno they wouldnt bother giving them relationships.
Asanoya: if noya were the girl, yes. If Asahi were the girl, no. Noya could be a fiesty little girlfriend but they'd be too chicken to give a short man a big, bashful ladyfriend and that is the ONLY reason they wouldnt be canon.
Iwaoi: sorry to break it to you but probably not. the writers would be pouting and slamming their fists around like "nooooo they see each other like siblings, we wanted to show male-female friendships were possibleeeeee." however I think the chances would be slightly higher if Iwa were the girl. In that annoying tsundere way of "oh she's never going to admit she likes the guy everyone else also likes" but it would probably only be implied, never canon.
Kyohaba: yes! if Yahaba was the girl. Their entire thing would be switched to "kyotani finding a girl who smacks him around and decides to devote himself to her" where Yabaha would pretend she hates it. Less chance if Kyotani were the girl but I suppose not impossible.
Ushiten: Complicated. I think in general if they were male-female their friendship would play a bigger role. But it would be canon if Ushijima were a girl. Only because of the double standard for women. In the same way that all women characters eventually have children even if they claim they dont like them initially, I think the writers would be too chicken to let a woman be mean and formidable and stern and they would have to temper her with her quirky, ecclectic best friend/boyfriend to make sure people understand she's still Woman. They would be canon within the actual text and not just implied/afterwards but it would only be given enough screen time to establish Ushijima as a feminine woman and then be forgotten so Ushijima could proceed to beat the shit out of whatever team they were up against next. However if Tendou were the girl she would 100% have an overt and obvious crush on Ushijima (probably literally saying she was in love with him out loud) BUT they would let Ushijima keep his intensity and it would only serve to make Tendou quirkier and/or played as a joke, it wouldnt be canon.
Arankita: No! Only because if Kita were a girl, Atsukita would be canon. And I think if Aran were a girl, they would be given a much stronger Best Friends energy in that "male-female friendship" way. both a female kita or a female aran would still be "one of the boys."
Bonus: Atsukita: Yes, but only in promotional media or extras, they wouldnt give screen time to it. Like there'd be a bunch of promotional stuff of like Atsumu picking Kita up or teasing her. yknow.
Bokuaka: Yes, obviously, geez. Doesnt matter which is the girl. Thet would already be in a relationship from the time theyre introduced.
Kuroken: Yes, but they wouldnt get together. It would be like a slow burn where they keep looking at each other with flowers in the background, but it would feel like the writers forgot to put them together. Like the series would end and everyone would go "huh. weird we never got a kuroken confession but alright" No kisses, no hand holding, but like 12 extra minutes of gazing at each other and blushing. But only if Kenma was the girl. If Kuroo was the girl they'd be too chicken á la Asanoya and would instead pull an Iwaoi.
Rarepairs as a general rule are a "No" just due to them not being canon for reasons unrelated to gender, however, I want to shoutout these rarepairs:
Kogagoshi: Wouldnt be canon due to not enough screen time, but regardless of who was the girl, Kogane would have been used as a joke developing a spontaneous crush on Goshiki for the camp that is basically just there for comedic relief
Kenhina: regardless of who was the girl this would be an UNBERABLE implied attraction that serves only to create drama between Kagehina. Like nobody who's read love stories with love triangles before would ever think theyd end up together but the writers would try their fucking best to convince you this was plausible over the obviously intended endgame of kageyama.
---
anyway thats just my opinion but Im right so 😌

Tumblr media
the ultra-feminine pretty girl category of perfume. historically, these have been just as common as animalics. in a way theyre equal opposites with how they've represented femininity in fragrance throughout history.
despite its modern reputation, florals do not have to be boring or overtly mature. the reason we associate certain florals like rose with 'old ladies' is because those were the scents they wore as young women. in 30-40 years there's no doubt that perfumes like burberry her, crystal noir, and delina (perfumes we consider fresh and modern) to be 'old lady' scents as well because trends will change and what was once new will become old!
that said, there's a variety of florals to chose from: yellow florals like lancome poem (sweet, slightly nectar-like, a hint of pollen), white florals like le labo lys 41 (heady, slightly indolic if there's jasmine, sensual) and dewier, fresh florals like anna sui l'amour rose edt (crisp, clean, watery) but here's a collection of florals across many different categories that will make you feel light and feminine.
Tumblr media
chanel chance eau tendre is a wonderful floral that balances sweetness with a little freshness and a gentle musky dry down. it's very deliate, and doesn't have that round sweetness lots of perfumes these days have. it's great for every day and its very delicate so it's an easy entryway to avoid headaches.
Tumblr media
anais anais l'original is a powdery white floral. its reminiscent of applying a gentle powder after a bath. despite being a white floral it's relatively fluffy and avoids being too heady as it has an innocence to it. it's vintage in a way, not because it smells dated, but because of delicate its composed.
Tumblr media
miss dior roses n roses is a great entryway to rose. it's clean, feminine and has a muskiness to it that prevents the rose from being too sharp. it's got a bit of a makeupy smell thats very nostalgic and some ppl get a brighter, zingier rose from the citrus but it all depends on what you pick up.
Tumblr media
ex nihilo fleur narcotique is a bit of an outlier from the rest as this is a more sensual, erotic and well...narcotic floral than the rest. there's a lush juiciness to the scent and it feels more aligned with being a hot and sexy 20-30 something than the more girlish florals above. smells like a vacation beach party where you drink too much rosé.
Tumblr media
anna sui l'amour rose edt is one of my favorites for is crisp almost waterlike rose scent. which is funny because there's no rose notes present! which leads me to believe this is rose as in pink. and it doe's smell pink, it's a whisper of a dewy floral that layers well with kitten fur by demeter and is light and comforting enough to wear to sleep.
Tumblr media
delina la rosee. my preferred of the delina line, its fresher than the original and the exclusif as the lychee note isn't as hars hand screechy. its very romantic, it reminds me a lot of charlotte york from satc. an absolute mod booster that can be worn at any time when you want to feel pretty.
Tumblr media
dolce & gabbana dolce is pretty and sweet. the florals dry down to a musky skin-like scent. it reminds some of fresh laundry, like a floral detergent or fabric softener but that isn't necessarily negative. in a ay its comforting.
Tumblr media
burberry brit sheer is a clean, soapy kind of fresh floral. the citrus gives it a bright and effervescent opening that's great for every day. it lives up to its name with its sheer musky drydown.
Tumblr media
gardenia petale is unique in is creaminess. it's cool with that white floral zing with a refreshing greenness to it that's kind of wet and dewy. over time it settles to something more powdery

Hey I know this is kinda stupid but ur little joke comics of siffrin having a bald spot being treated like any other sorta funny thing siffrin has going on is genuinely really affirming as a trans man who might lose his hair one day
ehh its not stupid at all. ill pull back the curtain and say that oh yeah these jokes are supposed to be lighthearted and affirming in that way so like. walk w me here
cuz thats the thing this joke works regardless of headcanon for siffrin/your own gender presentation bc like. transmasc, amab nb, transfem, intersex, hell even just pick-a-rando-off-the-street cis people worry abt going bald because it's just like. a distinct possibility. whether your testosterone is home grown or store bought its just one of the things that it can and may do.
obviously, there's ways to mitigate hair loss. transmascs especially have really good resource gathering for this, it seems? and it's very good to have the options to control your body and how you want to appear.
but that's the thing. weird uncontrollable shit happening to your body as you age is The Great Equalizer. And we'd probably all be better off if we didn't treat it so weirdly or like such a taboo. So making jokes about it the same way you would like, your back getting bad or joints getting creaky normalises it. Because it is normal, and there should be some humour in all shared experience !!!
making this joke abt Siffrin in particular is also not done without intentionality, also. like 1, as you said they already have so much shit going on that adding more is just funny to start with, 2. it makes logical sense with how stressed and deceptively old they are and 3. theyre like. a twink. they aren't particularly masculine (especially owing to the fact that, canonically, they don't consider themselves a man.) and people really do not see balding as anything other than hyper-masculine. so it can cause a lot of perception issues if you want to be seen as... literally anything else. ie. genderless, feminine, or just femme? So it stops people from depicting characters who aren't hyper masculine as balding at all/worse still makes people irl feel ashamed if they Are balding but don't want to be that level of masc. But it shouldn't be that way, because it's not like your genetic response to T (and stress..) cares what either society presently thinks Or what your personal sense of style is. And y'know. just in general. it's cruel to be judgemental about things beyond ones control.
... This is a lot of words for "thank god. im so glad drawing this twink balding is making people feel better because i hope everyone knows i'm not making this joke in meanspiritedness" now go forth and like. be fine with being bald someday. it happens to the best of us

so much of terf rhetoric is riddled with ableist and racist nonsense and they still call themselves allies to the disabled community and communities of poc.
"a woman is supposed to have periods and specific hormones and organs"
okay so all women with pcos or hormone imbalances or missing wombs/ovaries or any kind of reproductive health issue are just not women then okay
"no woman should have facial hair or thick or dark hair or a strong chin or jawline or be over 5'4" or have broad shoulders or have small lips or small eyes or a big nose or big ears or big feet or long legs or big calves or big arms"
okay well you just described half of the human race but specifically targeted people of like. literally every ethnicity except for a small select few europeans originating from England, Wales, Britain, and Scandinavia if you ignore the fact that most nords are actually tall with strong bone structure. But they usually get a pass because theyre Extra White so their femininity can never be put into question, right?
And not all women have tiny little barely there wad of gum vaginas. In fact, most women don't. It's very rare and the concept that a woman should be flat with a small clitoris and labia is 100% rooted in transphobia. I want to argue that its ableism as well, but classifying an enlarged clitoris as some sort of medical disorder is also deeply rooted in transphobia.
So many cis women argue that theyre protecting women while simultaneously degrading any woman who isnt a busty short little light skinned europoean with absolutely no body hair and a porn stars highly modified sexual reproductive system. Then it becomes clear that so much of it is truthfully also rooted in racism and eugenics.
