I hate complaining on main but it's gonna bother me till I get it out and unless you're going to be nice about it don't count I'm just going to block you.

But I hate the notion that Nicki can't be important because of Louis and he can't be true love for Lestat.

Because for a time I do believe they were true love. I don't believe that what Nicki said when he and Lestat parted was truly what he meant

Because if he did he could have fucked off and died in a ditch like he supposedly wanted.

I believe that Nicki's resentment and hatred only came about when he thought Lestat abandoned him for no reason. He never knew what Lestat went through and how much he wanted to go back to Nicki. All he knew is Lestat was gone in the middle of the night. And the only time he saw him again was doing weird shit. And that he came to see his mother not him.

I'd grow resentful too and want to say things I know would hurt him.

And Lestat isn't in the wrong. He was thrown into a situation he didn't want to be with and wanted Nicki to have a great life.

And none of this takes away that Louis is also just as much his true love. Both things can be true because Nicki is dead. His love will not take away from Louis and Lestat I promise you.

Nicki is a big part of Lestat even still. From saying his words to Lilly to the music box.

Look, I adore descendants and its community. It was the first fandom I joined, it is the fandom of my favorite fic I’ve written, and it genuinely has a very important place in my heart.

That being said, it’s getting fucking tiring with of all of the hate of RoR. If you don’t think Descendants should have gotten more content, than feel free. But, reminder, this ISNT a 4th descendants movie. This is a spin-off, a new chapter of the descendants universe. Don’t treat it as anything more. If you want a 4th movie, fanfic exists.

Please just let people enjoy these goofy little movies, because it’s exhausting seeing only RoR slander. Hell, that’s why I changed my pfp and am posting more, because I need at least one person on this cite that isn’t shitting on this movie that isn’t even out yet.

Everytime I hear someone say that women are more emotional than men or that women talk more than men my eyes roll so far back in my head. A few years ago my social circle was almost only women. Now it's mostly men (unfortunately). Oh how the men yap, oh how they get upset whenever something doesn't go their way. My male friends is like handling toddlers, compared to my female friends. And how they complain! Whoever said women express their feelings more than men have clearly never been around a slightly inconvenienced man. Oh how they yap on and on, only oftentimes disguising it as anger and irritation instead of sadness and distress. (Someone said anger is a secondary emotion, stemming from something deeper? Yeah.). And when they're not distressed? Still yapping. Not about anything interesting either. But yeah, sure. Women are the emotional ones and the ones that never shut up.

So today's random take: you can judge a business by how it does its pizza parties.

Not in the "capitalistic hellscape thinks it can distract its workers from poor pay and poor work conditions through pizza parties" sense. In the "is management aware of everyone's dietary needs and restrictions and is willing and able to compensate for it" sense.

I worked in one place which prided itself on its support of "diversity" and "inclusiveness" and then repeatedly served food at different events without ever adding labels. Do you have religious restrictions? Health restrictions? You're better off bringing your own food. One person was terrified of dying due to her nut allergy and never knowing what was in ANY of the foods.

Imagine working somewhere boasting about its inclusiveness and celebrating with a pizza party, and you're standing in a corner, smiling awkwardly, empty-handed, because you can't eat a single thing there. What the hell. We're doing a Halloween thing at work now, and someone who was helping decorate stated that she couldn't eat any of the snacks she was putting out due to dietary restrictions. I asked what the restrictions were and she told me between apologies and assurances that I didn't need to worry about it. To hell with that! Imagine putting together a celebration with the full awareness that you're excluding a portion of the office for no real reason!

In one office, we made a point of having a variety of treats available so everyone had an option, including healthier items and gluten-free items and vegan items. If you made something at home for the office, you brought in the list of ingredients so no one needed to worry about dying eating a tasty snack.

This is easy stuff. This should be common sense stuff. Is there a religious holiday coming up which involves fasting? Maybe have a party which focuses more on non-edible forms of entertainment. If it's a small work environment, it should be even easier to figure out dietary restrictions!

It's amazing how many inclusive places never think to do this. It's awful how many people apologize for having restrictions or different diets. To hell with all of that! It doesn't take much more time or money to create an inclusive environment. Places shouldn't call themselves inclusive or say anything about "teams" if they can't even figure out that half of their office can't eat the offered pepperoni pizza.

Petition for authors to stop only writing female characters that are 5’5 and shorter and male characters over 6’. Like.. if your girl is 5’3, give her a dude, that is 5’6-5’8. Where are all the tall female characters and the short kings?! At this point just don’t include the height at all 🙄 put ‘he/she was taller/shorter’ and we will imagine what we want 🤌🏼

A Changing Public Consciousness about the role of Droids in SW fanfic

^^^ i came up with a nice title but I'm actually just annoyed

Had a moment the other day when I was writing a droid character and realized they were being creative and that the real world setting around fictional droid and robot characters being creative has changed so much in just a few years because of AI that I need to add a note about my character's existence not being intended as a commentary because I was not thinking of real world AI when I made them. A couple years ago this would've just been a little droid and now someone's gonna (kinda validly) see all this crap surrounding it. Honestly I'm kind of mad about it tbh. Just wanted this droid to be a linguistics nerd and now I have to do politics in my author's note?

If you don't dw, I don't feel like talking about it. I understand if you're curious, just know something bad happened between me and a person, and that person showed private information. I was not comfortable sharing so I didn't want to make it a big deal so I asked them to take it down and censor it or something and they blocked me and told a mutual friend that I was harassing them.

I don't want to say who it is since then I'd be doing the same they did to me by having a picture of all my @s and such. (Saying "don't watch hunt them" but giving all my information to do so 🙄 Idk it just makes me anxious and I'm just hoping it blew over and I'm in the clear now so I can go back to my scheduled program)

Sorry for yapping so much. I just hate that this happens to me a lot - even if this time I did cause the reaction to happen. I just yeah, Idk, still felt like bad things that have happened to me would happen again.
