I'm so angry about this new bullshit "Poor Sunfyre deserves a better rider." Fuck you. Sunfyre chose Aegon, he loved him and was devoted to him. The interests of the rider are the interests of the dragon. Do you really want to look for some kind of Stockholm syndrome here? Sunfyre was born for Aegon and died for him, and I'm sure he would do it again.

It’s weird man, I’ve realized that most people don’t value honesty in practice. They care about keeping the peace and not rocking the boat. They can know something is wrong, but if it’s unpopular to say, even when they’re given a golden opportunity to say it, they just won’t. I wish more people would just be ok with being disliked. yknow, I am amused that solangelo fanon was so tunnel-vision in like 2014 that in the midst of crawling through literally every time Will had popped up in the series prior, somehow the ONE singular instance of Will referencing something that the fandom did absolutely nothing with was the thing Rick then decided to draw out into being a major character trait for Will.

Like. Nico eats McDonalds once and it becomes a huge fanon thing, but Will references Star Trek and the fandom doesn't make a peep until Rick explicitly canonizes that he's a huge sci fi nerd. and Rick doesn't even keep it consistent! He changes it so Will is a Star Wars nerd instead of Star Trek. smh 😔 /lh

Jayce is with Mel because it's easier. A queer reading of his relationship with Mel and Viktor reveals this dynamic: Viktor's declining health serves as a painful reminder of Jayce's original HexTech goals, yet he's pulled into the politics and trade that he finds easier to navigate.

Jayce struggles between focusing on trade and his true purpose, easily swayed by what feels simpler. His personal relationships mirror this; he connects with Mel due to their similar social standings—both are affluent and politically involved—while Viktor, from the Under City, is different in background and is disabled.

Jayce frequently shifts between Mel and Viktor, exemplified when he leaves Mel after their fling to visit Viktor in the hospital. In the painting scene (heaven's forbade I ever remember what happens each specific episode) scene, while discussing Viktor's prognosis with Mel, she distracts him by sharing her own trauma. I'm not sure if I want to consider this morally unsound, because I understand why Mel would do that, but the point is she did distract Jayce from his own issue.

In that same scene Jayce claims that nothing feels impossible with Mel, highlighting his comfort in her presence. Although he, dare I say, is in love with Viktor, his anxiety about his condition prompt him to seek solace in Mel. And that's just because that's how Jayce's character is. He's self-serving, and making an effort to protect his emotional state.

Since The Dragon Prince is ending (or at least the second arc is ending) in December I'll celebrate that by listing the funniest things I've witnessed in the fandom during these years:

-The Great Aaravos Thirst of 2019.

-Knowing The Thirst™ had been even greater if Tumblr wouldn't have banned porn just a year earlier.

-Aaravos' character designer being very happy with all the thirst posting.

-The Great Virst of 2019 that was balanced out by the people who thought Viren was a total troll.

-Rayla-Claudia-Callum love triangle speculations before s3.

-"Viren actually killed everyone, including Sarai and his ex-wife", speculations during s1-3.

-Aaravos Is A Good Person and a cinnamon roll -speculations.

-Fandom calling Ethari "The Tinker" before his name was revealed and also correctly predicting him and Runaan being a couple long before it got confirmed.

-Jason Simpson (Viren's VA) being grumpy about people shipping Aaravos and Viren while Todd Erik Dellums (Aaravos's VA) egged the fans on and seemed to find the ship pretty funny.

-After the Midnight Star poem's full English translation got released some fans concluded that Elarion was a human girl Aaravos once was in love with and thus Elavos was born. You can still search the ship name on Tumblr to experience the time campsule of 2019 era of the fandom. Yes, people shipped Aaravos with a literal city and I think that's beautiful.

-The drought period of 2019-2022 hiatus where it was just a couple really weird terminally online fans posting their harmless headcanons, including a small fandom of a. ten people forming around Viren's ex-wife Lissa.

-Unhinged TDP fan theories like "Aaravos is Callum's Dad" and "Callum will learn every primal source" aka wanting TDP to be Avatar 2.0 but with elves.

-The fan response that parodied these theories including "Everyone is a Startouch elf, especially Bait"

-The Great FartGate of 2022 aka all of TDP Twitter collectively complaining about the fart jokes in s4.

-These 2024 Valentine's Day posts most likely done by the lead writer Devon Giehl.

-If you search Aaravos on Google the most frequently asked question is about his gender.

-TDP wiki gleefully listing Aaravos and Viren as Sir Sparklepuff's parents after s5.

-The fandom never letting go of the "Viren imprisoned Harrow in Pip" theory.

-Which Primal Source Are You -Quiz from 2018 foreshadowing events of the show like "where would you hide a dangerous magical object" and one of the answers being "in the bottom of the sea" possibly referring to Aaravos' pearl.

-A tweet fans thought was a mistake actually foreshadowed Aaravos being a giant.

Oh yeah, I made these attempts at human designs for the TF One cast like a week ago, but I ended up becoming extremely paranoid I did something wrong so I never posted them

I think it was because that same day I had been reviewing my lectures for my online Anthropology exam due that night, which also talked about the unfortunate history of how anthropology had been used in the past, and that combined with my general overthinking and paranoia and the fact that I don’t know much on how to draw non-white features got me scared

But it’s a week later, I think the paranoia’s gone, and they’re just sitting in my files, so might as well. I was probably overthinking it

I’d say Orion probably looks the best, and Elita’s the worst. She’s probably the most in need of a rework. But overall it isn’t horrible?

Also as mentioned, and it was a thought while I was initially drawing this, I need to learn better how to draw non-white features, though I’m mostly thinking about noses and hair right now. With Bee I realized I don’t really know black hairstyles (though I was attempting to make Bee mixed here), especially for guys. I need to learn more, I’m just not entirely sure how

But yeah, these were some attempts I made. I don’t know if these designs will stick, there’s a chance I’ll rework them, or I might not ever use them again. But I might as well show you them

@rooooooossssssse Cause the ranch wasn’t the reason—I don’t even think Marc believes that. Since the doc, he barely brings it up. For me 2022 Marc is fun as hell when talking about Rosquez because he has this “move on but I’m setting the record straight” vibe. Really think the ranch incident and the whole infamous narrative abaut the race track record around it? That’s just Marc being a dick with his comments (as he shuld). The whole ranch’s thing whit context seem less important in terms of their right or fight cause , Marc didn’t even win that race, and there are multiple accounts of what really went down. Yes they were trying to kill one and another and went crazy but like for all acaunts and videos seems ther were having fun for example, Lacave (who I usually take with a grain of salt but he has a great rosquez article that is well documented and has good sources) wrote a pretty solid piece about the incident. According to that, Uccio was already mad at Marc and tried to badmouth him to Vale, saying, “He comes here with his mechanics, etc.” But even during the ranch race, Vale dismissed most of that drama.

I think what really happened is that Vale probably felt a bit weird seeing Marc show up with his own mechanic to what was supposed to be an amateur-style race. That’s all. The real fallout didn’t start there. It was the result of everything else that year the incidents, the escalating tension, and the whole story we already know from different perspectives.

In my opinion, Vale started to distance himself from Marc(and others people like idk his ex ) because, after the first test and early races in 2015, he realized that this was his year his last real shot to win a championship and finally claim that 10th title. By then, the Vale that Marc met in 2013–14, who was more relaxed and less focused, was kinda gone 2015 Vale was much different, and completely centered on the championship. That’s why he probably felt more vale more distant and acted the way he did like probably at the beginning it wasn’t just about Marc or the fears it was about the pressure of knowing this was his final chance to really get the 10th.
