(ok I loved the movie the cute romcom it is is ADORABLE but if you're interested in the characters and storyline then boy do I have a treat for you!) NO BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD

- Claremont v Richards is such a well done, realistic political race oh my god it hangs over the whole book it's immaculate

- leaked emails is like a whole fuckin plot point that gets built up to

- Bea is recovering from a major health issue...

- Alex has a sister her name is June and she's a DELIGHT

- there's a whole poly-ish relationship with Nora, June, and Pez

- Liam, Alex's friend from high school

- Alex, not realizing he's bi until it's blindingly obvious to everyone else

- the fuckery that gets Alex on a plane to London after the emails were leaked

- Luna, a gay hispanic senator who is like the center of politics for 2/3 of the book

- Alex overworking himself on the campaign to try not to love Henry

- disagreements between Ellen and Oscar

- Catherine, Bea and Henry's mum

- a shit ton of nuance into Henry's feelings on the UK's queer history and Alex's finding his queer identity

- Henry goes to therapy! his dad dying is like a major part of his life and it's really beautifully handled

- Amy's life! her wife!

- Cash, another secret service agent

- really detailed morning in Paris! they're adorable what can I tell you

Nora. If June was upset after a date, Nora probably was too, and all he wanted was for the two of them to be as happy as he and Henry were. He got out his phone and started typing, unable to find adequate words to say at first:

Are you all right?

What happened?

Can I do anything to help?

I swear, you might be my best friend, but if you've hurt my sister, I'll-

He deleted that last one and just looked at his phone for a minute, at a loss. If he was resorting to saying things like that, clearly he needed to take a step back. He was known for acting and speaking without thinking first sometimes, but this was one of those times that he definitely didn't want to make the situation worse. 

Finally, he settled on a combination of two of the texts he had typed out: What happened? What can I do to help?.

i have received so many lovely comments on i became your device to name and soothe and i just want to tell y’all how unbelievably grateful i am for those of you who have read and enjoyed it :,) !! i’m having so much fun writing this fic, so i’ll be sharing a little sneak peek of chapter 2 ! (and some new Junora fanart from me 😉)

It’s hard to not think about that night, especially when June has gone on pretending as if it had never happened. It makes Nora’s both equal parts frustrated and relieved. Things haven’t been awkward per se, but the energy between them is noticeably different. She’s just waiting for June to call the shots, no matter how badly she wants to reach over and kiss her face again. To have her hands on every single inch of June’s body. And to tell her how good she is.

The prospect of their friendship being ruined if Nora makes the first move is eerily high. So she waits. She waits during the nights they accidentally sleep together in the same bed or on the couch. She waits when June walks through the door, visibly upset and tense after work. She waits and waits and fucking waits. And for once she doesn’t know the probability of June even making the first move.

Waiting is the last thing Nora does, and right now it’s just making her realize how abnormal it feels to be still. Always running headfirst into the things she wants shamelessly—it’s the only reason Nora has gotten so far into her career in analytics. But when she looks at June, she feels the intrinsic need to be tender and forgiving; qualities Nora had never found herself undertaking until two short months of living with June. Nora figures patience is another virtue she has to learn, and for June she’ll do anything.

Nora knew she had to go about her investigating carefully, and with everything going on, it was hard to find the time. 

So when Henry let her go after the first day of simulations, she investigated the area around the Dauntless leaders’ offices. It was hard to figure out which ones they even were, given that all of the nooks and crannies here looked mostly the same, intobut then when she emerged into the main cavern, she looked up and remembered the building with the simulation rooms high above her. How much could she explore them? 

She headed up, looking into each room as much as she could. Most of them, to her dismay, didn't have nameplates- not that she would have known who they belonged to if they did for the most part. 

She walked along, looking into the windows as thoroughly as she dared, but making sure to immediately move along when she saw someone in the office. She moved through one floor, then another, never staying in one place long enough for it to seem suspicious… or so she hoped.

Then she got to the uppermost level, and saw the title on the nameplate. Jackpot.
