61. From Hare to Eternity

Can you believe it took them 61 episodes to implement crochet into an Alice in Wonderland show? Took them long enough. XD

I wanted to draw the Queen saving the day, but June Hare called and I had to answer. Here he is telling his Ma all about how he saved the Queen’s life. I know I've already drawn this concept before, but I wanted to draw June again. I just had to. ((I also love the choreography of her using her hip to close the oven. It kills me. ))

I also noticed for the first time that Queenie is wearing sneakers for the “Heroic Hare” number. Probably because she actually had to do some fancy footwork.

The Hartley Siblings !!!

Everyone knows March (and he needs his own post being from the book and not an oc, technically), so!

September is an inventor who is obsessed with the skies and makes machines to try and fly/jump really high - she hasn't figured it out quite just yet so she falls a lot. They're also buddies with The Knight from TTLG (as they live in Looking Glass Land still and have been occasionally commissioned by The White Queen to make robotic toys for Lily)

June is the "Golden" Child of the family, meaning she just married rich and has a kid, but beyond that she is a very lively socialite that uses parties as a way to advertise her art (mostly ceramics and other such pottery like things) - killer on the dance floor, will leave you breathless

December has been perpetually cold since she was a young leveret - no one quite knows why, she hasn't told a soul the reason. The only thing anyone knows is she has her winter coat all year long and lives somewhere in the mountains, creating ice sculptures and singing haunting melodies (sidenote: she's Lavender's favorite aunt, though Lavender loves all her aunts)

THE START . . .

Facet sat quietly in the boot of the van, his breathing stable and slow. After so long of being a victim of contract work, he was finally going to settle down and finally get some stable work. Even better, they provide housing! Or at least, whatever you want to call a singular room lined with bunks as far as the eye can see. That's really the only thing Facet can envision when imagining military service, mostly due to the media surrounding it.

Battery beside him is chatting lowly with Lefty. The two aren't really arguing, but much less... squabbling. Battery prods at Lefty's chest, and Lefty shoves him backwards against Facet in a manner much more harshly than Battery ever poked him. Facet tries to avert his gaze elsewhere, focusing on anything else but the men fighting beside him.

His gaze catches onto Lucky, who is eagerly pestering someone he's much more familiar with, Hare. He and Hare were once close friends, but had somewhat fallen out after a long duration of no contact. Maybe he should spend more time with him. Keep Lucky out of his hair for a while...

Facet has to lean forward to see anyone else, which he realizes... there isn't really any more of them. There's supposed to be fourteen of them, but there's only about six or so in this van. How weird. He distracts himself from that fact with trying to get a good read on everyone else.

Mimic and Wasp sit knee to knee, heads leaning against one another as they sleep. Gross, Facet thinks. The two usher a bit closer as a breeze blows through the back slits of the doors of the van, conserving warmth and their snuggly sitting position.

With no one else to really pay attention to, he sits back and spares his gaze to stare upwards. He sighs softly, his chest heaving with an unsaid exhaustion. The van is quiet for a while, which allows Facet to finally doze. The drive is just about eighteen hours, which leaves a lot of time to do nothing. Facet'll savor that while he has the time to.

Some freshly processed photos from recent weeks/months of Guillemots including bridled, Razorbill, Puffin, Kittiwake, Fulmar and Gannets at or on the sea below RSPB Bempton Cliffs, female Orange Tip butterfly at Magdalen Hill, Cuckoo at Fishlake Meadows, Green Tiger beetle at Strathdearn, Brown Hare at the cottage we stayed in Scotland and a Herring Gull at Bridlington.

I wanted to post some freshly processed images of the first six from the Yorkshire week, what I nicknamed the super six when in Yorkshire six of my favourite birds and some of the ones that inspired and captivated me most in my crucial early birdwatching days which sparked my passion for nature and eventually photography and amazed me once more in Yorkshire. With so many unprocessed images to delve into from both I also wanted to do a post with freshly processed images from my Scotland and Yorkshire trips over the past couple of months our two main holidays this year. I went down an alley building on a thought I had last week that Orange Tip butterfly, Cuckoo, Green Tiger beetle and Brown Hare are four random species with something in common for me this year; I've seen or heard them all in home areas in the south of England and in both Scotland and Yorkshire on the trips. I like little connections like that.

I decided to combine the two posts when I thought that I can say the same for Razorbill, Guillemot and Gannet having seen them in all three areas. Sandwich Tern and Green-veined White are others I can say it about and there are also obviously loads more of the common species that follow the trend, like Herring Gull.

I almost forgot that Jade pulled a last minute win during my polling.

Roxy was in the lead before Jade pulled the rug from under Roxy.

Jake never stood a chance against the Egbert.

Dave was just a faster runner than Jane.

Rose didn’t actually care, she had fun with Dirk.

Now that that’s done.
