Been working on some post-series TGaMM headcanons and designs. I'm sure some designs will change as time goes on but here's what I have so far.
Molly's design was already done due to the times I've had her with timeskip Anne, so it was mostly just to write down some headcanons. Ollie being a ghost therapist I just had to have him dress like Bill Pullman from Casper. Andrea is both fashionable but mostly functionable for her job as a tech genius. Libby is perpetually in relaxation clothes for her to stay at ease to write better and more often. Darryl is supposed to invoke a shady car salesman with little brother vibes. June as an eccentric inventor of ghost devices that actually work just seemed natural for her.

"The Ghost and Molly McGee", Ten Years After
Molly’s ongoing work to improve the economic, cultural, and mental well-being of Brighton has earned her the love and respect of everyone in town, a few write-ups in statewide and national publications… and a full scholarship to the University of Iowa’s civil and environmental engineering program. She’s returned to Brighton, working for City Hall as assistant city planner (with her dad as her boss, which isn’t awkward at all, really) while earning her master’s online.
Molly wasn’t alone while she attended UI—Libby was her dormmate all four years that she was there. She earned a scholarship of her own, majoring in English. She also returned to Brighton after graduating, becoming a part-time reporter for the town newspaper while helping run her mother’s bookstore. All of this is in addition to her literary career. Matias, her father, took a second look at the fantasy novel she wrote and realized it was publication-worthy. It wasn’t a best seller, but the royalties from this and two other books Libby has written since let her live comfortably and pursue her passions in life. Her latest project is a series of books helping small children understand and live with the effects of divorce.
Molly and Ollie hit a rough patch after an admittedly stupid argument during their senior year of high school, and their two-month breakup proved just as hard on their respective families as it was on each other. They got back together just in time for graduation from Brighton High, only to part ways as Molly went to UI and Oliver headed for Iowa State. But they carried out a successful medium-distance relationship (it was only a two-hour drive between the two campuses).
Ollie has parlayed his experience as a researcher for his parents’ MeTube videos into a career as a freelance researcher for an assortment of psychological and medical foundations. While he travels all over the Midwest and occasionally beyond, he’s based out of Brighton… specifically, the rental house he shares with Molly. Ollie and Molly are practically married already, but their parents are eager for them to make it official. The couple are waiting a while to save enough money to stage the dream wedding and after-party they always wanted without breaking the bank.
Several years ago, an ill-advised deal involving a shipment of counterfeit designer smartwatches and the Uzbek mafia landed Darryl in hotter water than usual. He’s lucky all he got away with was lockdown in juvie until his 21st birthday… which got commuted to two hundred hours of community service and time served due to an unexpected (and slightly suspicious) governor’s pardon. At any rate, the whole debacle soured Darryl on similar schemes. He’s kept his nose clean since then, barring a few school detentions. He takes business courses at a local community college with plans to transfer to a four-year institution this fall. His current side hustle involves promotions and advertising for assorted boutiques and under-21 nightclubs that have popped up in Brighton's revitalized downtown.
June lives away from home, majoring at Drake University. But she remains Darryl’s best friend, the only person outside his family who’s consistently been there for him after his schemes blew up in his face—figuratively and almost literally; she was the one who detected that leak in the ammonium nitrate storage tank Darryl stashed out near the water tower. They even dated for a while before mutually acknowledging the situation was “weird” and deciding they were better off as friends. On a related note, maybe Esther shouldn’t have paid out all that money to have her wedding dress remade.
Pete and Sharon are still happily married. Pete takes great pride in the improvements he’s helped make for his adopted hometown of Brighton, and he’s especially flattered that his daughter is following in his footsteps. The town’s successes have become Pete’s successes—in the last ten years, he’s fixed up the family home and bought his first non-used car. He’s even dusted off his vinyl for a few gigs at some of the new clubs downtown. Meanwhile, Sharon offers painting classes at the local community center and retirement home. These days, she primarily uses her Gig Pig account to set up painting parties in and around town, sometimes as far out as Perfektborg.
The Chens’ enlightenment about the true nature of ghosts has led them to step away from their “Ghost Chaser Chens” MeTube channel. Ruben has had far more luck marketing his brand of small-batch root beer, now available in grocery and convenience stores all over the state. Recently, Esther inspired Ruben to introduce a “spiked” version flavored with Habanero peppers. Reception has been mixed.
Grandma Nin and her friend Patty are the self-described “Bad Girls of Brighton Hills”, but their adventures have proven more constructive than mischievous. They’ve organized concerts at the bandshell, joined the Senior Construction Crew on home-repair projects for needy families, and hosted a weekly potluck dinner/board game session in the home’s cafeteria. These dinners always feature Patty’s homemade gumbo—Nin helped her fine-tune the recipe so now it’s actually edible.
The McGees look forward to David and Emmie’s annual visits, a chance to catch up with family and connect with their heritage. The Thai lessons Molly took on Triolingo have helped her feel slightly more at ease when the Suksais come to call. Also, Sharon has tried practicing some Thai dishes, with Pete’s assistance and (critically) while Nin isn’t in the vicinity.
A year after Davenport’s closed its doors, the family rolled the dice and started a supermarket specializing in organic groceries, local produce, and hard-to-find foreign brands… items Bizmart couldn’t or wouldn’t accommodate. The gamble paid off, and Davenport's Turnip Patch sells and ships to customers across the region—yes, even to Perfektborg. (Sharon and Nin are frequent visitors since they carry Thai specialties like jackfruit, pandan extract, and even durian.) Andrea maintains the store’s computer systems but pointedly avoids appearing in advertising. She’s back on her socials, but not as an influencer. Her “Girl Code” series on MeTube provides tips and tricks for entry-level coding enthusiasts. The videos feature occasional cameos by her girlfriend Alina, who’s also taken an interest in the subject.
Three months after Scratch cast off his Chairman’s robes, they settled upon the recently departed spirit of a retired manager of an IRS branch office. Since then, the Ghost Council has basked in bureaucratic bliss, leaving the denizens of Ghost World alone and happy. Not long after Todd left, Molly conducted a séance and told Geoff what happened to Scratch. He realizes it will be a while before he sees his friend again, but at least he has Jeff to keep him company.
Todd and Adia have photographed wild horse herds in Montana, kayaked off the Antarctic Peninsula, biked through Croatia, snorkeled with manta rays in Hawaii, and helped refurbish a centuries-old mosque in Brunei… and that’s just in the last year! Their adventures included a meditation retreat in India where Todd astrally projected his spirit out of his body for a few minutes. He “came back” talking about a young lady back in Brighton who showed him how to live even though he was already “dead”. On their next swing back to the United States, Molly is the first person they plan to visit.

I’ve still got some strong hyperfixation going on for one of my newest fandoms ‘The Ghost and Molly McGee’ (which I will eternally regert not watching sooner) and wanted to share some of my headcanons I’ve come up with over the last four months.
* There are a few months between ‘Jinx vs the Human World’ and ‘The End’, enough for a third season to take place. Most of the leaked scripts occur with a few exceptions: They do not find the ‘Williams’ lunchbox, by extension ‘Scratch from the Past’ doesn’t occur, Dead and Breakfast was revealed to be getting cut before the cancellation so it also doesn’t happen. And ‘Forever Home’ occurs after ‘The End’ (more below)
* I already posted my headcanon conclusion for the Chairman Ollie arc. I was going to post more on that but I’ve decided to wait (more at the bottom of this post)
* Molly is remaining positive for Scratch’s sake after he leaves. She is sad and talks about it with the others when she can…
* Then ‘Forever Home’ occurs (with Geoff in Scratch’s place) a month after Todd leaves. Patty dying and not becoming a ghost hits even harder since the loss of Scratch is still fresh. Molly allows herself to grieve in front of the others but her positivity is noticeably shaken for a week or two after. A movie hits too close to home during date night with Ollie and Molly finally breaks down and fully opens up about her sadness and fear of losing people and being alone. Ollie is the second person she’s ever opened up to about this, Scratch was the first. After that she is truly able to start healing.
* Todd visits Brighton a year later. One scheme and a hug from Molly later and his memories from his time as a wraith return! He remembers Molly first but slowly the rest come back to him.
* After remembering everyone and having a true reunion. One of the things Scratch does on his last day in town is have a one on one talk with Ollie. Scratch figures he’d understand how he feels best since they both suffered memory loss for a time and both care deeply about Molly. Ollie tells him how hard it really was on Molly and how they’ve all been looking out for her.
* Molly and Scratch keep in touch, and Adia is let in on the truth about Todd and ghosts. They have yearly visits to Brighton.
* Scratch and Adia do get married, which may or may not be motivated by tax benefits, and have a quick ceremony at a courthouse. Best Man Geoff brings wraith Molly through a portal so she can be there as their flower girl, she’s already making the joy flowers anyway.
* Molly and Libby go to college in Brighton, while Ollie goes to college in Perfektborg. Being long distance besties with Scratch has prepared Molly for a long distance boyfriend so she’s not freaking out as bad as she would have at 13. They meet every other weekend and video chat frequently.
* Mollie get married once they finish college. Scratch and Adia take an extra trip to attend and the former is the best man. Libby and Andrea are the maids of honor. Libby realizes that with what Molly is planning, Andrea will find out about ghosts one way or another. They break the news early and introduce her to Geoff and Jeff, she’s freaked out but it gives context to some early events.
* Scratch and Adia die in a hang-gliding accident when Molly is in her early 20’s. They don’t reunite right away but Molly figures, and gets Geoff to spill, that Scratch is waiting to make a grand entrance at the funeral. He and Adia scare everyone not in the know at said funeral when they emerge from their graves. Molly and Ollie present the ghost couple with a large dollhouse and they move in with them.
* The girls future’s are pretty obvious, Molly becomes mayor of Brighton, Libby writes novels, June is a scientist, and Andrea marries Alina and her vision board becomes a reality. As for the boys, Ollie becomes a therapist with patients living and dead. Darryl is part of some government task force, that is all he is able to divulge.
* Mollie have their first daughter a few years later, Piper Chen-McGee. She inherits the swoopy hair and living with ghosts her whole life gives her a hyperfixation on the paranormal. From the moment they met and she grabbed his snoot, Scratch has been a doting uncle to her and the two are really close.
* Five years after comes Joy Chen-McGee. I haven’t thought too much about what she would be like but for sure she continues the legacy of enhappifying/engoodifying, enhappigoodifying if you will.
* Once they die, Ollie becomes the chairman for good. He has a white robe made for Molly, it doesn’t have any special powers but she’s already got her unique joy energy.
So I was already planning on writing a Ghost Friends one shot, I was going to save it for Halloween but I’ve decided to move it up and release it in around a month.
In addition, I’ve got two other fics that will be released after; one will be an anthology fic focusing on Ollie, exploring his character, his interactions with different characters, and going through his chairman arc! The other will be Molly and Scratch reuniting, because these two are family and it’s cruel to keep them apart.
I’m not sure how long it’ll take to churn these out, but the Ollie fic should start in June once I finish the Ghost Friends oneshot.

Well, I ended up having more free time to do this than I anticipated.
Here it is… the fifth and final attempt. This chapter is going to be a long one.
The first song used is ‘Next to Me’ by Emeli Sande. Also–hey, June and Andrea cameo!

Which iteration of this character do you prefer?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Further notes:
The Little Women poll was one of the very first ones put up on this blog, so you may actually notice a few more versions are present on this character poll than there were on the general media poll!
There's still several theatrical editions not here; in this case, its less because they seem inaccessible and more because I'm having a bit of difficult untangling some of them from each other (there's a couple versions and its not entirely clear to me right now which are independent adaptations and which are slight revisions of the earlier adaptations) so in order to avoid accidentally duplicating interpretations, I've just decided to simplify the options here a bit. There are also generally several more adaptations, including multiple television versions, etc, that have been left off of this poll to keep it from getting too crowded. A second part of the original poll may be published at some point, and a second part for this one will be considered, as well.
There are images of 1949 Jo, but they were all oriented differently than the rest of the images, and therefore were causing the others to get cut off- so the film's poster has been used instead.
On media polls I would only feature the stage musical as one single adaptation and would not treat individual productions as different versions; I won't follow that rule for character polls and have featured two different Jos from two different productions of the same musical (the OBC Jo [Sutton Foster] and the 2021 London Park Theater production Jo [Lydia White]. I will still mostly stick to using actors from major productions, and won't be trying to necessarily capture every single revival/staging. I'm also not going to be as stringent on character polls about theatrical productions being recorded/licensable/having a published script etc as I am for for media polls.

Gloria's Diary
School's been going well. I always walk with Betsy and Naomi and we love to laugh together. Today Mr. Davenport made everyone give a speech in front of the class. Everyone was nervous but once I got up there I think I did a good job. Having an actress as a mother might've worked to my advantage.
Betsy and Victor invited Salim to study with us 'cause she says Salim is good at history and he can help us in Mr. Davenport's class. Not that I need much help, as my grades are pretty good. We did a lot more joking around than actually studying about the Declaration of Independence, though.

Considering how The Ghost and Molly McGee season 2 ended, if by some miracle we do get a season 3 I have come up with my own idea on how the show could move forward.
Now first thing I want to address is some people have said the show is The Ghost and Molly McGee which means as long as Molly is with a ghost then it's alright, but really now could you possibly imagine the show without Dana Snyder? As much as I like Geoff & Jeff, I don't think they or anyone else could ever replace Scratch.
Tumblr media
Now my thought for the next story is that Todd and Adia have got back together and have been adventuring for some time, but a freak accident causes them to seperate and as a result: Todd dies. He of course becomes Scratch once more and even retains his memories of his time with Molly, he was gonna go back to Adia but couldn't bare to see her heart broken that he had died, so he decided to go back to Brighton and continue to live with the McGees again, not telling them about how he actually died in the off chance they try to confront Adia about it. The season could have Adia trying to find Todd, and it even brings her back to Brighton which can cause conflicts for Scratch, but eventually there can be a warm reunion between the two (I also had thought about what would happen if Adia also died and became a ghost because then they could be together in the afterlife).
The rest of the season can then focus on all the miscellaneous adventures the characters go on: some more time spent building Molly and Ollie's relationship (maybe get a proper kiss between them)
Tumblr media
Andrea could finally meet Scratch face to face, maybe even work in a story that involves her becoming a wraith.
Speaking of which, it was said that Andrea was planning a future business relationship with a girl named Alina, so we could get an episode that further explores their relationship as an actual couple.
Tumblr media
It would be nice to see Libby's father return and actually you know BE THERE FOR HIS DAUGHTER AND WIFE!
Tumblr media
We had an episode where Molly and Scratch switched places, not to mention we've seen the gang as ghosts so an episode where they all swap with each other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now as for a new antagonist and ghost council chairman, I don't really have an idea per say but I'm sure there are plenty of ideas that could be come up with; maybe add in a human villain who wants to try and take over the ghost world.
Tumblr media
And finally we can have one of those "where are they now" type epilogues where we can see Molly and the gang all grown up and living their lives.
Anyways those are just my thoughts, feel free to comment any ideas you might have.
