Thinking about how prior to the dark war Julian would’ve been the one to help Ty sneak animals into the institute bc then Andrew and/or Helen (+Eleanor before she died) would’ve had to take care of it.

And then them all getting back from Idris and Ty tries to bring in hermit crabs from the beach or a lizard from the desert and Julian knows that it can’t stay in the institute so he finds it to and tells Ty they have to let it go (but Julian intentionally waits a little longer to find it bc it would have taken Andrew or Helen longer, but if Julian wanted to he could’ve found it immediately bc he know’s Ty’s hiding places as the brother who showed Ty where he could hide things so their father and helen (sometimes even mark) couldn’t find them so easily.

thinking about how much Ty hates change & how he was visibly distressed when he thought Julian forgot about the pancakes but he's the one who most desperately wants Mark to take over from Julian. thinking about how Julian's first line in the series is that Ty & Livvy are eating wax and how his hands are covered in wax too. thinking about how Julian thinks of them as his children but they're the siblings closest in age to him, the brother and sister he was probably the closest to growing up

I just can‘t stop thinking about the fact that Kit probably partly said yes to living with Tessa and Jem because not one Blackthorn came to check on him when he spent his days in the Silent City after the battle in QOAAD. He probably thought that they all hated him after what happened with Ty. This also gets really clear in SOBH when Julian and Emma visited the Carstairs family:

the dark artifices has so many moments that just floor me. when diana opens up to gwyn and he tells her she’s the bravest woman he’s ever met and gently asks, Can I hold you? when kieran feels betrayed and mark kneels in front of him to ask for forgiveness and tells him I love you, I wish you could believe me. when julian says to emma “I’ll love you if I never touch you” and emma thinks, I love you more than starlight. kieran telling mark “you are all that exists on the earth and under the sky that I do love.” julian telling dru that “you’re the heart of this family”. ty and kit being each other’s reasons to stay. livvy’s protectiveness over ty; livvy telling julian she wants to be like him. kierarktina dancing together and all being stunned after. there is just such fierce and fragile love in this series in so many different forms, i’m so soft for all of them

I think there should be a scene in twp where Emma, Kit, and Ash all stand in a room together and cause Julian, Ty, and Dru to simultaneously come to the horrifying realisation that they all have the same type (blonde. Jace Herondale adjacent.)
