Alrighty, I just queued my Whumptober posts through Friday! So far, I have Baldur's Gate 3 (expect plenty of that this event), Dragon Age, Devil May Cry, and The Old Guard. What other fandoms pr characters would you guys like to see me writing for this event? My Devil May Cry prompts always seem to be a favorite, so I'll try to get some more of those in!

my thoughts after first period:

- i will NEVER get tired of seeing quinn during the anthems ever

- i love the atmosphere in the arena. everyone’s so friendly and energetic and i love to be a part of it

- DANIEL FUCKING SPRONG. i’m so excited to see him play throughout the season

-BROCK BOESER!!! i have a feeling (i know for a fact) he’s definitely breaking some of his personal milestones this year

- J.T miller. i love you. provides phenomenal plays AND a fight. 10/10 keep it up king (also his wife and kids being there 🥹)

- NOW CONOR GARLAND MY SHORT KING. truly an amazing player to watch

- quinn hughes. oh where do i begin. you can already see the impact he’s having on the team in his second year has barely started. i’m so excited to see where he’s taking this team.

overall, i can’t wait for the rest of this season and im very hopeful that Canada can bring the cup home (hopefully vancouver but ill be happy regardless who it goes to as long as its a canadian team 🥰)

I wanna take Starlo to an observatory. Like an OLD one, all the vintage aesthetics. Watching the stars through a transparent dome, a telescope nearby with books all around. Astrology and space and stars and planets. Dancing under the low light of everything, stars and candles.

i'm not trying to start anything, but i'm confused. if ludinus cared and trusted in people and respected them to make decisions... then why was a a raging racist towards groups of people? i can't fully see how that could possibly match up.

because his hypocrisy is his most center trait, that made him a villain and also parraleled the gods, a neverending cycle of those who think they know best for others when they have descended into selfish ways - but, as with c3's themes, can we bear to accept that someone was terrible but that they were radicalized into it as scared and powerless moments? he did care for exandria. immensely. maybe more than the pantheon did. he would rend himself apart and break everything if it meant everyone was safe from what he saw as the greatest tyranny. but his festering anger and focus on only one goal, his growing power & privelege as he raged with no one to ever guide him away from radicalization from his trauma, meant he both lashed out at others, and thought destruction was a necessary if disgusting trade off for a final peace for those he lashed out at - that was what happened in the calamity, after all, wasnt it, to secure "peace"?

to our knowledge he didnt hate the kryn for being the kryn - he hated them because he couldnt bear to imagine a calamity survivor would worship an object of science, exacerbated by being in charge of an empire so long that he could only see xhorhas through imperialist value. he didnt want everyone in molaesmyr to die, it clearly haunted him - but his hatred of their forgetfulness of what the archheart did isolated him entirely til he grew desperate enough that he destroyed them for his plans (and even then, he remembered them - "justifying" that their deaths wouldnt be in vain). he despised trent and the imperium and it went against his morals enough he faltered talking to caleb about one of them, but they furthered his end goal and then their abuse wouldnt matter anymore, because the real abusers, they would be gone in his eyes. he hurt everyone around him because he was hurt, and his position and his experience gave him the cruel chance to.

he cared but he learned to steel himself against truly caring. after hundreds of years feeling powerless and alone in a changing world he began to know nothing but the most extreme and final option. war changes and radicalizes people, and eventually even when we think we are kind or intelligent we can break and fall to bigotry and extremity through insanely punitive justice if it means we think it will end suffering. he is us. the bells are us. liliana is us. frankly the pantheon is us too. i see them in this world every day. i think that is the truth of where that hypocrisy is important. we are all suffering people and we have to find some way in the web of the world to meet folk who do not enable our worst but also reach a hand out at our worst. ludinus never found that. and frankly many of us havent either.

Okay, time for something actually relating to my telling of Casper. Which by that, I just mean me rambling.

I don't know why I chose Stretch to be last to die. Honestly, it just sort of came out that way. Not to mention the way he did.

Admittedly, I did have some trouble on how that would come to be. And the one thing I landed on was him attempting to get answers from J.T. More so because that man didn't seem to care about a single person that died unexpectedly. Not even his own boy. Then again, J.T never built that bond a father and son should have.

Not that he could anyways, that child was scared of him.

Genuinely terrified, as the one instance he tried to speak to J.T when he was seven, he ran away. With Stretch or Simon in this case hearing from Franklin that the boy couldn't let go of his pant leg. Quietly whispering to his uncle that he (J.T) wasn't a nice man. Franklin was going to assure Casper that he wasn't so bad, but when he saw Casper's eyes? His usual jovial demeanor fell instantly.

This kid was really terrified. J.T had never touched or even spoke to his son, yet one meeting alone made Casper wish he had never seen him.

And going forward, Casper never wanted to hear a thing about J.T. Didn't want to see him either and quickly forgot his face as time went by. And his father off to do God knows what.

So, very different from the 1995 movie that many ppl seem to compare mine to. Can't be mad though cause I still use some of the material. Not by much as things have changed with mine :p
