hey so i Fully Believe that telemachus was not afraid of odysseus in Hold Them Down

people may have told him stories of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, Athena's chosen Champion, Hero of Troy

but mama's boy telemachus sat by her feet as she wove tapestry after tapestry; and penelope told her little wolf stories of his father

how they met, how he tripped over himself to woo her, how he cried his eyes out when penelope became pregnant, how telemachus wouldn't sleep in his cot as a baby because he was so used to being in his father's arms because odysseus would not put him down; and yes, how viciously he defended their family when the atrides came to retrieve him for the war

telemachus? the child of the Unhinged Power Couple? who knew very well how horrible those suitors were, how they treated him and spoke of his mother?

took one look at his dad viciously protecting their home, their family, and thought he was the coolest, strongest person ever (after mom ofc)

best part about epic is Poseidon (in Ocean) and Zeus (in Wisdom (maybe in Thunder?)) calling Odysseus Greek like it’s a racial slur

Me and My Friend were Screaming to Each Other about the Vengeance & Ithaca Saga and got THE BIGGEST BRAIN IDEAS EVER

Poseidon has Polities’ headband on his trident (he found it in the cave where he died)

When Odysseus defeats him with the trident, he gets the headband and puts it on his forearm (something something heart on sleeve symbolism)

He wears it like this for the remainder of his kingship

When Telemachus becomes King, he crowns him with Polities’ headband (legacy of ‘Open Arms’ or smth you get the idea)

When Ody dies, Telemachus buries Polities’ headband with him (friends reunited at last)

When Odysseus reunites with his fellow brethren in the Underworld, he returns the headband to Polities (what comes around goes around, circle of karma, you know the deal)

I came to yap about EPIC: the Musical

In Survive while fighting Polyphemus Odysseus sings "600 lives at stake, it's just one life to take" saying that no matter who dies the more lives that are saved the better

However in Thunder bringer he choses his own life instead of 42 lives of his crew which shows that he has in fact become someone else who's completely different from who he used to be

And I think that's just so smart and so poetic
