"The Moogai"
This forgettable, flimsy trauma horror film is too similar to ones that came before, and it doesn't break any new ground in the genre.
It’s inevitable that writer-director Jon Bell’s “The Moogai” will encourage comparisons to Jennifer Kent’s 2014 film “The Babadook” due to its similar subject matter and themes. It’s not a carbon copy, but this trauma horror tale doesn’t break any new ground in the genre. Using supernatural and fantasy elements along with Indigenous folklore to create an eerie atmosphere, the film doesn’t make…

Upon seeing this poll & voting, reblogs are sincerely appreciated. Let as many people as you possible see this poll.
The 5 year anniversary of one of the BIGGEST tragedies in entertainment history deserves more recognition this time around.
Lastly, go in detail in reblogs as to why you voted for a certain character.
(This is the last time I ever do a poll on this subject.)

How do you headcanom Jon and Martin to look?
Very different to most of the fandom!
Firstly: Jon is taller. He just is. He's not tall - he's only 5'6" - it's just that Martin is very short (5'0"). Beyond that:
Jon: Skinny but not waifish. He's got enough muscle behind him to haul boxes around the Archives, or indeed to carry a heavy metal pipe while running full tilt through spooky tunnels, without collapsing. He's not winning any body builder contests by a long shot, but people aren't looking at him and worrying that he's malnourished (at least not until the horrors really hit).
He's white to my mind - I love the diverse headcanons the fandom has, but when I really sit down and think about how Jon is written in canon he screams "white guy" to me. Not like, pale-as-porcelain white, just your average peach-crayon-pale.
His face leans toward the "narrow and pointy" side. Dark brown eyes, dark brown hair. Somewhere between wavy and straight - no curls. He keeps it cut short until the Prentiss attack, then lets it grow out for the rest of the show (who has time to go to a barber when your life's in danger?). He either asks Martin to cut it for him in the safehouse, or leaves it long. Post-canon, he cuts it short again.
Martin: Fat, carries the weight mostly in his stomach/chest. He's stronger than you'd think to look at him - again, not like a weightlifter or anything, but he could pick Jon up for a few minutes if he needed to.
Also white, even paler than Jon. Fairly pink-cheeked until the Lonely, then over the course of S4 he looks more and more bloodless, as white as a sheet. He starts to recover color after 159, and even during the apocalypse he looks healthier than he did for months before that.
Round face, especially in the cheeks. Brown eyes. Dark hair - I can never decide if it's actually black or if it's just such a dark brown that it looks black. Short and curly. He gets regular haircuts to keep it trimmed through S3, then stops... honestly probably right after his mum's funeral. One last cut to look nice at the event, right? It grows shaggy over the course of S4, and then Jon cuts it for him at the safehouse.
