That Moment When Dreams Start Becoming Reality...

Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger is another individual that I learned about when I was a kid who gave me a lot of inspiration. Sean Astin played him (PERFECTLY) in the movie, “Rudy”, which is all based around a true story.

So, I’m big on rootin’ for underdogs. I think it’s admirable whenever an individual defies the odds & makes dreams become reality. It is stories like Rudy’s that truly show how powerful the human spirit can be when fighting for one’s dreams to come true.

I believe dreams are worth having & worth living for - Especially when the dreams are good & inspire the rest of the dreamers in the world (who still strive & live for the dream to come true).

This is SUCH a good movie (this scene CRUSHES IT)!

You don’t have to be into football to appreciate this story - it’s one of those movies that will make anyone appreciate how much hard work & undying devotion people have towards a dream. Granted, people get really hurt playing football, which makes one admire how much dedication to the game a lot of folks have (and love for the game, too). Although I never played football, I always get inspired when I think about how much HEART & SOUL Rudy put into fulfilling his dream (and how so many people have been just as inspired by his life’s accomplishment as I have).

Highly Recommended Viewing for the dreamers in the world!

After his wife dies, brain surgeon Andy Brown packs up kids Ephram and Delia and moves them all to Everwood, Colorado. The few things I knew going into this: #TreatWilliams and #GregorySmith were in it, and his character had something going on with the nanny. First two seasons were solid; the last two, while still good, leaned into the will they/won’t they of Ephram and Amy a little too much? (May be the age at which I watched it though); and I know Hannah was still in high school while Ephram, Amy and Bright were in college, swear to god they showed up at her school like they were still students at least once though, and all the college campuses looked the same even though I thought they went to different schools. Hannah and Bright were cute (giving him a chance to grow and gain some depth - that shower scene though 👀) if a bit predictable. Also predictable, though I grew to really like it, was the relationship between Andy and Harold Abbott, even with how dour Abbott was in the beginning; their contrasting relationships with their children was interesting. Treat Williams thought it was very Frank Capra-esque and thinks of it as one of the best projects he’s ever been part of. Glad they went with Smith instead of their other choice (Jared Padalecki). And OMG the “famous” cast members and cameos like #ScottWolf (that backstory, that brother...), Marcia Cross, #DylanWalsh (whoamygod that storyline!), Philip Baker Hall, #JamesEarlJones (basically his character from The Sandlot, with a piano), Kate Mara, #BettyWhite!, #BrendaStrong, Kristen Bell, Keith David, #JKSimmons. Cine: Cowboys (2020)

Joe Johnson ha sido, aparentemente, raptada por Troy, su padre (Steve Zahn), tal como lo denuncia Sally, su madre (Jillian Bell), y la policía les sigue la pista por las bellas y agrestes zonas de Montana. Sin embargo la historia posee un trasfondo que la denunciante se niega a reconocer: Joe, nacido como chica e interpretado por el pequeño Sasha Knight (también transexual en la vida real) se niega a usar otra vestimenta que no sea la de cowboy. De hecho, también se niega a usar otra vestimenta que no sea masculina.

La situación de Joe despierta grandes polémicas entre sus padres debido a la inminencia de su adolescencia (y a lo que ello conlleva, especialmente a la hora de ingresar a ese micromundo llamado escuela secundaria) y a lo desconocido de su situación. Cada uno a su lado intenta optar por la opción educativa que cree correcta: mientras Sally se niega a seguirle la corriente e insiste en rechazar sus opciones personales y culturales (como una novela de vaqueros que Joe ansía), es Troy quien más parece aceptarle, permitiendo que se vista a su antojo y emprendiendo la aventura de llevarle a límites canadienses.

Esta historia agridulce y encantadora, mixtura entre road movie y coming-of-age en la que el camino de búsqueda del pequeño se refleja en el de sus padres y en la necesidad de respuestas que no siempre están al alcance de la mano, ha sido escrita, dirigida y coproducida por Anna Kerrigan y cuenta con notables intervenciones de talentos como Ann Dowd (la detective Faith Erickson, que investiga la desaparición), Gary Farmer (Robert Spottedbird),Chris Coy (Jerry) y John Beasley (Ben).
