Hi there!
Thank you for all your dedication to reading. šŸ’–šŸ’–šŸ™ If you allow me to ask once again, I'd like to going back a little further in time just to understand a bit...
Considering that they both initially weren't big fans of this friendship between our little doves, but soon accepted the reality of their obvious "friendship"... What did Aunt Mimi and Father Jim think about them? Did they just not like their relationship because of the rock n' roll rebellion or was there an additional fear, if you know what I mean? šŸŒš
Thank again =D
Awwww thank you for trusting me these questions! Also, sorry for taking so much time, but Iā€™ve been stuck in a very interesting (and tiring!) project.
So, to answer the questions I divided them in two.
This is for entertainment purposes only.

What did Mimi think about John and Paul?
Tumblr media
I think at the beginning, Mimi thought about having a lot of patience with them. She didnā€™t like what she saw, but tried her best to remain calm. I think it all suddenly changed, and when she saw Paul, she thought that he was fake as fuck šŸ¤£šŸ˜. I think for her, Paul was someone that was near John just because of his status (how popular he was and how much money he had) and John wasnā€™t aware of that at all. She also thought that John was losing himself in this relationship, also ā€œlosingā€ in the sense that Paul was actually a social climber. So the truth was that for her it was mostly about class. How it was even possible that they were friends? They were doing all kinds of stupid shit šŸ¤£, how it was even possible?! I think it had to pass some time until she saw how they actually started something very beautiful (for me, this is about the band). Was it something that she liked? No. She obviously also realised how much money they were doing together. So that ā€œsoften upā€ her view into the relationship. She in this part in the timeline could see how the things were very different, how they werenā€™t just the stupid children doing stupid stuff, they now were evolved, John had clearly lots of affection for Paul and Paul had lots of affection for John. They seemed good together.
I think Mimi suspected of something going on but she never wanted to believe it. It was like it was there and it wasnā€™t. So I think she rejected them more in the beginning because it was a class thing.
What did Jim think about John and Paul?
Tumblr media
I think Jim since the beginning acted very tough with them, but it was because this relationship was something that he thought was doomed from the start. It was like suddenly Paul was very happy, like out of nowhere. So that was very suspicious.
But Jim saw how they were actually very lovely, it was like he tried very hard to choose his words and actions because of that. They were so tender with each other. But there was an issue that he couldnā€™t ignore and it was money matters. He knew that because of that, this relationship wasnā€™t going to last. So he actually thought that was doing the right thing when he tried to persuade Paul to get out of there. He really thought it was for the best. I think it was very hard for him when Paul actually chose to do other things, when he purposely chose to be around John, it was like he felt he was a failure as a parent. It was like he couldnā€™t stand knowing that Paul was doing all those kind of things (rocking, partying, drinking, etc), how he was obtaining money. What was Paul actually doing? I think he could see how strong the partnership was, but was kind of resentful. Everything that he worked for turned into THAT.
I asked if he suspected that something more happened and I think he did. What the cards are showing me is disappointment. It is the feeling of ā€œwhat did I do wrong for this to happen?ā€. Very interesting energy.

i never know how to phrase it but something about the way beatles biographers and people in general view paul's reflexive placating persona and determination to smooth things over as manipulative or duplicitous and john's reflexive barbed persona and habit of lashing out as brave and subversive despite both being equally defensive mechanisms to shield themselves from the world that resulted in them saying things that weren't true says more about how we culturally view kindness or friendliness as inherently untrustworthy or flimsy and anger and carelessness as more believable as someone's true nature than it says about either of them in actuality

The Psychology of Paul McCartney in Quotes
I think I'll go ahead and post these as they are and invite people to please send in quotes that you think might add something to these because I know they're definitely not complete! Or if you have other Paul Issues TM that you think I should do a compilation on let me know!
As it stands, the docs have the quotes organized chronologically so they tell a story. Some quotes made it into more than one doc because there is a lot of overlap, but I tried to keep it as organized as possible. I think it's pretty head-spinning reading some of these things in the order that they are. It makes him make more sense to me.

To the other lawyers, Lennonā€™s demand was little more than a stunt, something to be expected from the most mercurial of the Beatles. So in conveying the news to Paul, Eastman also offered his belief that Lennonā€™s demand was just a hiccup in the proceedings and would soon be sorted. But Paul was livid. Seemingly unconcerned about leaving Linda and the girls stranded at High Park without a car in the dead of winter, he stormed out of the farmhouse, hopped into ā€œHelen Wheels,ā€ his Land Rover, and took the coastal road out of Scotland and toward Gayton, the Merseyside village where he had bought his father a house, called Rembrandt. Linda contemplated the prospect of staying in Scotland and leaving space for Paul to cool off. But after a few hours, she decided to head for Rembrandt and ordered two cabs to accommodate a traveling party that included Linda and the girls, plus four dogs, each larger than the two youngest girls. Reggie McManus, the owner of the Campbeltown cab company, was taken aback when Linda requested two cars for the nearly 360-mile trip to Gayton but agreed, provided that Linda didnā€™t mind making it an overnight journey. McManus and another driver, Bob Gibson, collected Linda, the girls and their small menagerie at High Park at 12:20 A.M., and delivered them to Rembrandt on Saturday morning at around 10. The marathon journey racked up a fare of Ā£70 ($170), which Linda paid from a roll of banknotes. To Lindaā€™s surprise, when she arrived in Gayton, Paul was having a cheerful breakfast with his father, his rage diffused by the head-clearing drive south.

Just Paul being so angry with John that he stormed out of his farm and drove all the way to his dad's house
