Dave's Diner has been drawn once more! Also the phrases are first draft just to put something there - Dave's Diner is Dave's Diner though, that's just the name of the Diner.
First Section, Left to Right: Penny the Poodle, Dave the Dog, and Harl the Husky Second: Midnight is the animatronic and Joe Davis is the guard Third: Crystal, the red fox waitress
This lil universe is vaguely inspired by FNaF but very much has its own lore n stuff.
There are three main categories: The main cast, the waitresses, and the Forest Wolves. The wolves are the only ones that are digitigrade due to them being able to go on all fours. In general, they have a similar structure to fursuits that were modified for machinery but have extra stuffing so they can be hugged comfortably. Especially the Wolves as them going on all fours is used for them to be able to be ridden by children through the maze (with employee help)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also here's the wolves but like a colored sketch i made a few days ago In order Top left to Bottom right: Fang, Midnight, Moon, and Star
Star has teal glitter btw
None of the animatronics are possessed except the old ones that aren't pictured here and that may get retconned if I work on this a bit more or so. Idk drawing them again just reminds me how fun they are - even if I may switch up how they look.
I love these guys and all the guys I made for em its why I can't cut down the amount of animatronics even though having 7 is a bit excessive and fuck it its my lil universe I can have as many lil guys as I want

Oh No! Here Comes Trouble
Tumblr media
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
Oh No! Here Comes Trouble (2023, Taiwan)
Director, Writer & Creator: Lin Kuan Hui
Mini-review:
I don't know why I put off watching this for so long, cause it's really good. It includes so much stuff that I love: laugh-out-loud comedy, heartbreaking stories, supernatural elements and, most of all, a bunch of characters that burrow their way into your heart. The dynamic they share, specially between Yiyong and Guangyan, is incredibly fun. I feel like I could spend hours and hours watching them doing whatever together. And that's exactly what puts this drama miles ahead of other similarly supernatural-themed stories: the character writing is so damn good that you don't even care about the show's flaws, like the weak CGI. It certainly helps that the entire cast does a fantastic job, with Tseng Jing Hua giving a particularly unforgettable perfomance as the main character. Oh No! Here Comes Trouble is exactly what I needed right now, and I hope we get to see these characters again in the future.

Short reviews because I'm so busy trying to study and work at the same time.
In the meantime, I caught up with every BL I have put on hold or lost interest in throughout its run.
Wandee Goodday
The first episodes were really promising. They have very good chemistry and both of them are very good at acting out heart-eyes, making me wish for somebody to look at me like that. The pacing was good as well, the pilot really hit it off. But then the show kind of lost itself, episodes kept being uneventful and I still don't understand why they are oficially together in episode 10 when they both knew they are having feelings since episode 3. It's unnessecarily stretched out while them both overcoming their trauma is poorly written. They both had some issues regarding their parents and self-love and while that is interesting, I feel like their traumas weren't talked about a lot. Dee's trauma was "solved" within one of the four parts of episode 8 (I think?). And Yak overcame his guilt in 3 seconds after Dee showed up at his fight and told him to just let go. In what world does anyone heal that quickly?
The vaccine ads were more present than them overcoming their traumas.
Most episodes felt so long and I've skipped throught the last three. There are so many cringey speeches in front of audiences and love confessions that feel like the same lines are repeated over and over again. And don't get me started on Cher and Yei. I do not care about their relationship even if Cher is cute and Yei is good-looking. I like them with Yak and Dee but they barely had any scenes and then there's a random sex scene, so we feel like we are invested in their story but it's just a poor attempt to make us believe we're having a good time with them.
Rating: 5/10
My stand-in
I was really excited about Up's new series. I LOVED him in "lovely writer" and I couldn't wait to see the angst this show would bring. I still think the first 4 episodes are the best. Joe keeps hinting that something grand is about to happen, that meeting Ming meant his life will turn into a nightmare. I was really shocked when he died but I just cannot agree with Joe's choices. I'm not saying it doesn't make sense but it's very self-destructive to go back to the same agency and be around the same friends and have the same job while people can't recognize you but keep on talking about your past self. Joe complains about being Tong's stand-in, he repeats how much pain it caused him but he chooses to be his own stand-in and complains again? It frustrates me so much.
But I have to say, the amout of joy I felt when Tong was without money and helpless and chased after. He absolutly deserved it and I dislike they try to redeem him at the end. Throughout this whole show, I never felt like he truly loves May, yet in the end he says he does and she's like "okay". No. That's not how redemption works. And Joe helps him, takes a bullet for him and forgives him after one tiny "thank you"...? Tong has to do a lot more than that.
I don't like the way Ming doesn't respect Joe. They have an eye-opening conversation in the car, when Ming forces Joe to go with him and Joe loses it because he doesn't want to be there. In the end, the car stops, he storms off and Ming runs after him and hugs him from behind. After shaking Ming off, Joe keeps leaving and Ming hugs him again. Ming hugs Joe three times in that scene. I feel like Joe should just leave.
The story also feels like it's losing itself a bit at some points. It's not really necessary to have that whole "dad doesn't approve" story when it's clear as day he will come around. They went to such extremes, terrorizing Ming and Joe but it doesn't really make sense. Ming's parents change their minds within like 20 mins (at least it felt like it), so why did we get so many tears? Why was I invested? And why did Joe help Tong? Why in the world would Joe switch places with Tong? They just brush it off with "that's just what Joe does because he's so kind" but no, Joe is just unreasonable.
Rating: 7/10
We are
This show starts with Peem painting and his off voice introduces us to him in a "hi, I'm Peem, I'm an arts student" kind of way. Honestly, the first time I watched this first scene, I immediatly closed the tab because most GMMTV shows that start like this end up being extremely boring. And after "never let me go", I was not convinced about Pond and Phuwin. I honestly didn't want to watch a show with them as the main leads and some of my problems were still seen in We are. But I'm not gonna name them since I'm not trying to badmouth people here.
But YouTube desperatly wanted me to watch this show, so I clicked on the first episode again and then I kinda bindged it lol. It's very funny, I love the friend group so much. Some people say there were too many couples but I feel like it was exactly right because if this show would have had two couples only, it would have been very boring. There is not much happening but the relationships make up for it. I felt alive watching this show and some scenes are so fast paced.
I hoenstly didn't expect Peem to bluntly kick Phum within the first 3 minutes. There were many scenes like that, especially when the friends were all together. There were some nice twists and jokes I didn't see coming but felt so authentic and not staged. The script is pretty good and it's an absolute gem.

Untitled Gastown AU, ch 4
It had been, he realized, less than two full days since he’d last been in this spot, on the road just outside the Citadel. The red rocks soared above him; there was no way he hadn’t been seen.
Warthog rolled up beside him. Jag’s helmet was strapped behind him where the young man had once rode.
“You didn’t say who was going in with you, Boss.”
“I’m going in alone.” Twice in the last two days this place had swallowed up bikers and not even spat out the bones. There was no sense in making more casualties than he had to. “Hang out here and don’t engage with ‘em. If I’m not out by noon, hightail it back to Gastown, load up everything you can carry, and beat feet. You can get by for a long time hiding in the hills and raiding convoys.”
With that, he covered his face again and rolled away from his crew, heading into the heart of the Immortan’s stronghold.
They’d spent a sleepless night in Joe’s audience chamber. Even Dementus, who prided himself on being impervious to discomfort, had only gotten a fitful hour or two. The Immortan had set lookouts to keep an eye on Gastown; every hour, he picked up a telephone to hear them say nothing, nothing yet. Daylight faded and electric bulbs buzzed to life. Joe’s sons paced and snapped at each other, the fat man fiddled anxiously with his nipple rings, but Joe remained unperturbed. He’d ignored Dementus’ bluster and even had dinner served, though he’d offered none of it to the bikers. Lil D he’d had sent away, and laughed at Dementus’ protests.
“Your daughter? You killed her mother. She’ll be better cared for with me than you could ever manage.”
At one point he’d opened his eyes to see the faint light of dawn on the wall of the opposite tower. Rizzdale and Big Jilly had been talking in low voices. They fell silent when they saw he was awake.
“Gastown gone up yet?”
The two men looked at each other with trepidation.
“No,” Rizzdale answered at last. Dementus groaned.
“That drongo.” Maybe he’d misjudged the Octoboss’s brains. Him and his Mortifiers, strutting around like they were better than the rest of the Horde. When he got back, he’d give the cunt something to complain about.
Several hours after sun-up, a Warboy hurried in and said something to Joe in a low, urgent voice that Dementus couldn’t make out. The Immortan and his entourage turned toward the entrance, the guards standing up straighter and holding their weapons a little tighter. Something was happening.
A single set of footsteps echoed down the corridor and a lanky, black-clad figure came into view. The Octoboss had left his distinctive helmet with his bike. His held his hands in the air.
“I’m unarmed. I’m not here to cause trouble.”
“Here to threaten us if your leader isn’t returned?” sneered the fat man. “Blow up Gastown?”
“Gastown’s fine.” The Octoboss didn’t bat an eye. “Everything’s there, everything still works. I’m just here to talk.”
Joe’s eyes bore down on the lone man. “Tell us what you came to say.”
“You had a deal with Gastown: food and water for guzzoline. We want the same deal. We’ll even sweeten it for you. We’re loading up the rig from yesterday and another tanker we found and sending them here, full up with guzzoline. You keep our bellies full, we’ll keep your tanks full. No trouble.”
The Immortan regarded him, weighing his offer. The Octoboss didn’t flinch under his gaze.
“I could simply have you killed and get the same deal. What then? What of your Mortifiers?”
“You kill me, you’ll have a thousand leaderless bikers to sort out. And my Mortifiers will take offence. They can’t touch you in here, but they can make your life hell out there on the roads.”
If the Immortan wasn’t pleased with these terms, he wasn’t displeased. The fat man stepped forward.
“Your attack on Gastown has cost us. We expect to be compensated. Half again the guzzoline for each shipment of food, and all of the found items you bring in.”
“Half again the guzzoline for the first hundred days only,” the Octoboss countered. “No found items, but we’ll keep the roads clear from here to Gastown to Bullet Farm and back.”
One of Joe’s sons started forward, teeth bared, but Joe stopped him before he could speak. The fat man pursed his lips and looked back at the warlord. Joe gave the faintest of nods.
“Keep the roads clear and the guzzoline flowing, and the food shipments will continue.”
“Deal,” the Octoboss replied, almost too quickly, and spat on the ground. The fat man, in Joe’s stead, spat as well.
“I suppose you’ll be wanting your comrades back.” The Immortan motioned to the captives. Dementus had stayed quiet through the negotiation, aided by the business end of a shotgun in his face and the grudging knowledge that this was the only way he was getting back to his horde. Now he shuffled forward hopefully on his knees.
“Yeah! Yeah. The Red Dementus agrees to these terms, and is damn glad you’re here, you took your bloody time…”
Throughout the talks, the Octoboss’s expression had barely changed. Now, for the first time, he looked down at his former leader, and the coldness in his eyes made Dementus’ voice recoil in his throat.
“I don’t need all of ‘em. The History Man, I need him to help run the place. These four,” he pointed to Mr. Harley, Mr. Davidson, Big Jilly, and Fang. “They’ll keep the bikers in line.”
Guards moved to strike the chains off the men he indicated. They glanced at each other and at Dementus, but looked away before he could meet their eyes and hurried to stand behind the Octoboss.
“And the girl?” Joe asked.
The Octoboss blinked, as if he’d forgotten about her. “Keep her. She’s been trouble for us.” He looked around. “Where’s Organic Mechanic?”
“He will be staying here,” Joe replied with a finality that the Octoboss didn’t dare challenge. “And these others- what should I do with them?”
He motioned at the remaining three. Smeg was trembling and appeared to have pissed himself; Rizzdale and Dementus craned and bobbed, desperately trying to catch the Octoboss’s eyes. He shrugged.
“Whatever you want.” He spared a glance at Smeg, who looked about to faint. “This one’s annoying, but he’s harmless. You could keep him around, if it suits you.” He took a half step back. “We’ll be going now, if that’s all.”
Joe beckoned, and the guards moved to escort them out.
“Hey!” Dementus tried to shuffle after them and was stopped by several rifles trained on him. “You’re not just gonna turn your back on me? After everything we’ve been through, all our magnificent adventures? You’re just going to leave me here?”
The Octoboss stopped and looked back on him, and the hatred in his eyes froze Dementus in place. For a moment it looked like he wanted to come back, if only to lash out at the former biker lord. The presence of the Immortan’s guards kept him from trying. Instead, his lip curled.
“Take it up with my men you killed.” Then he turned, flanked by the guards, and was gone.
