Story time- Making Music

Gather around the bonfire, it's story time, (not just because because I want to inform you all about my life, this has a purpose for reals lol).

Anyways, let's get it...

When I was a wee teenager, I decided to join the church's band with other teenage people. I was around 17ish.

Now, this church was insanely conservative and insane, in general, and dating was prohibited and if you dated anyone, people would watch you like a hawk and make up rumors, and try to break you until you repented.

(I know...this place was toxic but I went because my parents took me and I didn't know any better.)

So as time went on, I began spending a lot of time with guitar boy....

Guitar boy had hair the color of gold, played soccer, and he had a six-pack.

We clicked right away. We had chemistry. Our voices were complementary. Like puzzle pieces. Our instruments blended together.

I thought he was the funniest person I'd ever met.

I felt all butterflies in my brain. Even the sky had a prettier shade of blue.

I would see him practically everyday and I couldn't get enough.

We liked each other bad.

And this was all while having eyes on us at all times.

So to escape those eyes, we began doing duets. Just me and him practicing for hours and hours. Hiding behind the excuse that we needed to practice so we could spend time together and be able to be ourselves without anyone judging. We would use any excuse to work together.

Christmas? Say no more, we can put some songs together.

New Year's? We got you covered.

Birthday? We can get you some music for that.

We spent so much time together that it was inevitable.

We fell in love.

We had no label for a while because it was all scary and that way if they asked if we were in a relationship, we could easily say no.

But it was thrilling.

Since we couldn't openly hug, kiss, or hold hands in public, we would sit next to each other.

We would hold each others pinky fingers because we thought that didn't look as suspicious lol

He would come to me so he could tune his guitar and lightly brush my hand when I was giving him the key to tune to.

We would sneak out of our houses and take a blanket to the park so we could watch the sky. We had a list of promises to each other about the future. We knew each other's deepest secrets.

All of this went on for a long while...and no one found out until years later.

After doing well on a song, we would glance at each other. It wasn't just to let each other know we did well on the song, but to transmit our feelings to each other.

People thought that it was just us acknowledging that we had done a good job, but it was more than that. It was magic and love and all those pretty things.

So when I see Jikook, I think "Yeah, it's exactly like that."

Anyone who has fallen for a band mate and for some reason couldn't be in a relationship with them will understand. And they will see it immediately when they see Jimin and Jungkook interact.

There is something about making music with the person you love. It's unexplainable.

Music becomes the axis your relationship gyrates upon.

For guitar boy and me, it was permitted because we were just making music, it's not like we were making love.

But here is the catch, for a musician, those two concepts are pretty much the same thing.

I read this from the cult arguments so the reason why they think jikook using Buddy program for enlisting confirms them not being couples is because in south korean military service as you might already know they prohibit the gay sexual intercourse while ON BASE and if you do you face the consequences right? So according to them now that jikook are using the Buddy program by chance IF in future they come out as queer and start dating each other the government is likely to investigate them for using the Buddy program for their advantage, or say they can get investigated for falsification and breaking the law of gay relationship n all during military service and given BTS are Big deal even if jikook come out after many years they will still likely face very serious consequences for breaking the law cause you know how sk is when it comes to BTS like e.g. suga's recent incidents.

So does anyone have a better understanding of this whole act of gay se* + military service and the consequences you face like this law as whole?

My thoughts about enlistment and how it works can be found in the post I linked but just to something about what these screenshots say….

This right here is what I like to call manipulation. This person has a very good knowledge of the system and what article 92-6 actually states but they use their own words to completely twist things. I’m not a lawyer but i’ve watched enough shows to know that people have gotten away with murder or heinous crimes because of loopholes in the written law so I’m pretty sure who ever drafted out military laws must know this so they must have EXPLICITLY written down everything that they didn’t want to avoid any loopholes.

Anon, I’d like you to check out what article 92-6 states and show me anywhere that law criminalizes two people being in a relationship. Is there any place the law talks about punishing two people just because they are gay and are in a relationship? I must have missed it so maybe you can show me if you find it.

This is such a simple thing to understand so I truly don’t get why so many people choose to ignore it.

The military doesn’t criminalize people being in a relationship (atleast not officially) they only have a problem with people committing indecent sexual activity on base. So why on earth would there be consequences if Jimin and Jungkook leave the military and decide to come out at some point later? As long as they didn’t break the law by having anal sex or engaging in anything the law considers indecent sexual activity, they are good. Is there any law that states that two lovers cannot enlist together as buddies? There is literally NONE! Also, this makes no sense because not everyone who in romantic relationships have sex (surprise surprise) and seeing as the military has only mentioned having an issue with sex while on base, then why would they go after people who didn’t commit a crime?

If the South Korean military didn’t want two lovers enlisting together as buddies, they would have boldly written it down. Yes, queer people face some injustice and discrimination in the military and sometimes are deemed unfit for service because of their sexual orientation which is unfortunate and sad but the truth is, Jimin and Jungkook have never come as as queer have they? So officially they are just two normal bandmates and friends who decided to enlist together and even if they do come out later, the military would have to prove that they were a couple while enlisted if they want to have an issue with it (which I doubt they would) and we all know that they wouldn’t be able to prove that Jikook were a couple at the time of enlistment unless they got caught having sex, because guess what, it is possible that they could have only become a couple after their military service. So you see how the whole thing doesn’t even make sense right. If you want to consider that the military might try to punish people for being a couple while enlisted, then there are just too many loopholes in the law. I am not even a lawyer but I can make a very good defense case for anyone whom the military tries to prosecute for this using their own written laws.

there’s so much misinfo going round atm, see lots of people saying that after jk enlists with jm and does the boot camp he can apply for some special ???something and will leave separately where he is stationed or that just because jk / jm are enlisting on same day, they only will do basic training together then go to separate places ? and that they only chose the enlisting together option because it meant they could make sure they were out in time for june ?

ik it’s a bit hard to follow maybe with different sources and not real confirmation but do you know if any of it is true? my understanding was that they did the “enlisting together” scheme thing, (ie. it’s a purposeful application, they knew they were choosing this way) which meant they’ll at least be in same living quarters etc the whole time until they’re out ?

But thats not what V is doing. V applied for Special Task Force which, while not easy (he said in the live its why he enlisted there, to challenge himself) its nothing compared to special forces. Special forces is HARD CORE. Its no joke. It's for those who actually want to go to war and proper fight for their country. Not for those fulfilling a mandatory duty... One they wouldn't do if they had the choice. Special forces, those people actually wanna be there. And if u know JK then u shouldn't be surprised that he would say something like this. Of course our dare devil bunny would enjoy joining something as risky as special forces.

But guess what? No one stopped him. He still could have gone there if he really wanted to. Just like in Winter package. No one told him to give up zip lining for beer tasting. He did that off his own volition since Jimin was going beer tasting. JK's happiness is where Jimin is. Period. (Suga's presence played a big part but we don't talk about Yoonmin)

(Edit: the whole thing takes almost 8 years to complete which again, is not something JK would actually do if he wanted to still stay a member of BTS. And of course satellite Jeon would again, never do it)

Jikook wanted to use the buddy system and they applied where Jin is on purpose because since the location is so risky, (front lines) not alot of people apply to serve there. So the chances of them being accepted were pretty high. I already talked a bit about that here.

So apparently Jimin was having an unhealthy diet and although all the members told him to stop he only did once Jungkook asked him too. And if it true please provide original content on the case. Thank you.

You know, the time it sometimes takes me to find the content you guys ask for is the same time you could use to look it up yourselves. Some of you are a bit lazy aajajjaaj. The last part of your ASK sounds a bit authoritative, and I didn’t like that, but I’ll post your ASK anyway.

It didn't happen exactly like that.

In an interview BTS did during the Danger Era with 10+ Asia Star 2014 October Issue, the interviewer mentioned that they’d lost weight, and Jin explained that Jimin was on a strict diet, only eating once a day. But then Jimin started eating regularly and didn’t worry about it anymore. After that, Jungkook started doing the same, and Jimin told him that if he kept it up, he’d get sick. I guess Jin mentioned it because Jimin didn’t think it was bad when he did that, but he thought it was when Jungkook did. I’ll share the translation of that part of the interview:

Jimin: We wanted to show a manly image.

Jikook and kids

Disclaimer: It is my belief that Jimin and Junkook are in a romantic relationship (at least up until they enlisted in ml) and I understand that my belief might not be the truth.

With that being said 😁, I wanted to touch on the topic of jikook and kids in the future. I know this might be considered an intrusive topic and know that some couples find it gauche for people to speculate on their plans for reproduction. But everytime the topic of jikook and kids make it to my tl I can't stop myself from thinking of what that might look like ( yes I am guilty 🥹 I am only human you know)

Ok back to what I wanted to share. There is an asian gay married couple on youtube who had twin girls through surrogacy. They call themselves Appa and Daddy. One is Korean and the other is Japanese. Their channel is dedicated to documenting how two asian gay males are bringing up two cute little girls and also they multiple travel vlogs.

One of the reason they decided to move to the US was so that they could start a family.

If I am not mistaken, each dad is a biological father of one twin ( I find that wonderful) but I could be wrong.

I started following their channel back around 2020 when the girls were just born and I keep picturing Jimin and Jk in this role.

In an alternate world this is the path I forsee Jikook would take when they are ready to start a family of their own. Unfortunately I do not know what the Korean law says about surrogacy but given that gay marriage is not yet recognized in the country I doubt gay couples would be allowed to go the surrogacy route.

Fatigue

Kinda Random Thoughts a couple of days after the 'last BTS Live'

Ngl feeling a bit of mental and emotional fatigue.

I think it’s safe to say it’s going around.

The sad thing about social media is no matter how much you try and curate your own bubble with things that make you happy and positive people, it’s hard to maintain. Social media is a representation of everyday offline people. Regular people behind the usernames with their own opinions, experiences, likes and dislikes (celebrities are regular people too, just famous for something or talented and known for it).

Though it’s good for growth and maturity to not just surround yourself with the same opinions and thoughts as yourself, it’s also tiring when you feel the need just be understood. When you can never enjoy things in peace because others need more information, more context, need to pick apart, need to make their side seen, their conclusions/interpretations the decisive one.

Over the years we’ve had SEVERAL Jikook lives, OT7 lives or lives with some of the members as well as Jikook. I, like most of us, LOVE Jikook lives. When watched in its entirety we not only see their ‘moments’ but we see them as regular people, we then can discern the fake from true when we see fake subs, edits etc. What makes Jikook even more interesting and captivating, to me, is when I can see the similarities as well as the exceptions in their interactions with each other and their other members. I found Jikook AFTER I found BTS…

and not only do I love their lives with primarily the two of them, I also love their solo lives, their lives with other members and OT7 lives. All the members are interesting in their own ways and their lives shed light on them and the other members, Jikook included. Watching their lives (though still them putting their best face forward and always aware that they’re being watched by millions) is so much more rewarding than just watching edits, summaries etc from the likes of TikTok, YouTube and other platforms. It’s fun AFTER watching their lives to then see what army have done to have fun with them, such as funny edits, fake FUN subs etc.

**please please please, weverse is free, whenever you have the time, watch the lives there with the subtitles there, though not always the best, it’s better than those who may not translate for altruistic reasons**

It gets me down sometimes the constant need it seems, within fandom culture, to microanalyse every piece of content we get. We have the need to seek out hidden messages, hidden looks, put context behind what is and isn’t said. Give explanation where it isn’t needed and draw conclusions from what isn’t said.

Most of the time it’s cute, fun and ‘harmless’

It’s always been this way and sadly seems like it always will be. I like context, I like information, when possible I like to get it from the original source. It’s nice when busy and unable to read whole interviews or watch whole lives, to see little snippets and clips that float around online. But it’s so draining when those little clips and snippets are then used to paint different pictures and narratives depending on the sharer’s biases/intention. When it’s aimed at making members into villains, defaming their characters etc.

It’s rarely the case that the purpose for lives (when there is one) ends up being appreciated solely for that. Just the members wanting to connect with their fans.

mukbangs, karaokes, Legos, q&a’s, tmi’s, messages of thanks, birthday lives, just because lives. All the times they go on live that can be appreciated for just that end up being used as material for hate

Everytime it should be healing to interact with those we are fans of, after the initial wave of euphoria is over, undoubtedly what follows is soo much negative noise, new narratives, more hate etc.

As I said before I try to curate my timelines, who I follow, things I like & comment on etc but sometimes the need to correct misinformation, the need to defend the lies and negativity means I still end up seeing so much of the bad.

I know this is a cycle and I have choices and am not being forced to be anywhere.

It’s just one of those days where I want to word vomit on my blog.

I just want to enjoy BTS and Jikook peacefully and positively. Why can’t everyone want to do the same for their faves?? Why is it always so angry and combative and about winners and losers, horrible name calling and malicious lies, insults, nasty images etc. Why campaigns to cause mental anguish to members and their family? To sabotage and try to get members separated or even imprisoned. Why mass report playlists and accounts? Why when more often than not, it changes nothing.

If you don’t like something why spend so much energy on it? The members will still interact with each other, those that have ships & biases remain and Jikook will still be Jikook 💅

I know social media is a representation of the real world and that there are nasty people in the real world, so of course it makes sense that there are nasty people online, it’s just tiring and sucks the fun out.

They won’t stop me enjoying BTS’ music & content, them as individuals and a group nor will they stop me enjoying whatever Jikook chose to share with us,

but everyone once in a while it does mean I get social media fatigue, fandom fatigue and the need for me to do posts like this.

I always thought it was fake because I couldn’t find any reliable original source, and bts archive is so huge and hard to navigate. sorry your blog crashed but I hope you get it back! ! My Q would be, do you think, in theory if jikook are together and stay together for more years to come, it would be a problem if it came out they were a couple and they entered the military together?

I had been thinking they might have .. “separated” in some ways at the beginning of ch2, at least Jimin seemed to be putting some space between them (from what we saw outwardly ig) and perhaps they’d been practicing some distance before the ms service, and then after military they could decide where to go from there. BUT then I saw the ep 1&2 of AYS and perhaps decided that wasn’t the case 😂 as you wouldn’t cuddle and play about like that with someone you’re trying to put a bit of space between ahaha - and also I think Sapporo (if it’s what we hope for) might also not go along with that ^ theory ahaha.

but the buddy system is so good for jikook and so happy for them and that it got approved, because of course during AYS they didn’t know either, just wasn’t sure if it could cause problems down the line?:’s

I don’t think it would be a problem at all. The korean military doesn’t care about two men being in a romantic relationship or atleast that is not what they have said their issue is. Their issue is, they do not want two men having sexual intercourse in the military. While this is definitely because Korea as a country is still very homophobic, that isn’t the only reason. Some of the reasons why article 92-6 was put in place were:

Regulation of Sexual Conduct: The primary intent behind Article 92-6 was to regulate sexual behavior in the military, particularly same-sex sexual activity, which was viewed as inappropriate within the context of the conservative, hierarchical military culture. The law criminalized consensual same-sex sexual activity among military personnel, regardless of whether it occurs on or off duty, and regardless of consent. This law has since been revised since consensual acts that happen off base while off duty are no longer considered the military’s business hence the couple cannot be penalized.

Discipline and Order: The law was framed as a measure to preserve military discipline and morale. The idea was that any sexual activity perceived as non-normative could disrupt the cohesion and operational effectiveness of military units. However, this rationale has been heavily criticized for being based on prejudice rather than on evidence of actual harm to military order.

There was also a third reason which is that the law was put into place to curb sexual abuse which happened in the military that was filled with mostly men. Some men used to get sexually assaulted by superiors and sometimes even after the assaulted men reported what happened, the abusers claimed that it was consensual so that is why the military doesn’t care if the anal sex was consensual or not.

Jimin and Jungkook wouldn’t face any issues with the military after their discharge even if the military knows that Jimin and Jungkook were a couple while enlisted because the law doesn’t criminalize the idea of two men being a couple but just two men engaging into indecent sexual activity on duty, while on base.

Under Article 92-6 of South Korea’s Military Criminal Act, the law specifically criminalizes “indecent acts” between military personnel of the same sex, which typically refers to sexual activity. However, the law has been applied in a way that focuses primarily on consensual sexual acts, rather than simply on the existence of a same-sex relationship.

The law is explicitly concerned with “indecent acts,” meaning that if two gay men are found to have engaged in consensual sexual activity, they could be prosecuted under Article 92-6. If two men are merely in a relationship without any sexual activity, the law itself does not criminalize the relationship. The nature of their relationship could still attract scrutiny and even accusations of sexual relations even if none have occurred but the good things here is, Jimin and Jungkook have never come out as a same sex couple so as far as everyone is concerned, they are just two band mates, friends and bros from the same town, so as long as they are not caught engaging in any indecent sexual activity, then there is no risk to them now or after they are discharged.

So anon, no, Jimin and Jungkook won’t get into any kind of trouble even if everyone finds out they were enlisted as buddies while being in a relationship. This is clear when when you read article 92-6 and see that the military doesn’t explicitly have an issue with same sex romantic relationships. They only have an issue with indecent sexual activity that happens in and around their premises by men in the military. I don’t think any gay couple would want to admit that they are a couple before getting enlisted mostly because there is bound to be scrutiny but anybody who tells you that they would stop themselves from enlisting together just because of that fear is wrong.

I don’t really think the “distance” between them at the beginning of the year had anything to do with the military and I don’t think them seemingly intentionally putting a distance between each other was about their military either because if that was the case, they wouldn’t have enlisted together. I think it was something else that we may or may not ever find out about. I also think at some point Jimin and Jungkook were just operating on very different wavelengths and at some point Jimin seemed to have needed others more than he needed Jungkook. I have my thoughts on what could be the reasons but i’ll wait to see how things turn out on AYS (the Sapporo episodes) to know for sure.
