When German politicians attack Palestine solidarity protests at universities, they claim they are “protecting Jewish students.” In reality, though, Jewish students are getting beaten up by cops — all in the name of “fighting antisemitism.” An interview with Leah*, a Jewish student in Berlin. On Tuesday, May 22, the Institute for Social Sciences (ISW) at Berlin’s Humboldt University (HU) was occupied by about 100 pro-Palestinian students, as part of a wave of protest camps around the world. Why did you decide to join? We occupied the ISW and then named it the Jabalia Institute to take a stand against the university’s complicity in genocide. We were protesting against the repression of Palestinian students and pro-Palestinian events, and also against the weaponization of antisemitism to stop student protests. The occupation lasted until 6pm of the following day, May 23. Negotiations with the HU president ended due to police violence outside the building. Berlin’s mayor, Kai Wegner, had publicly demanded that the HU presidium order an eviction. We wanted to create an autonomous space, both as a protest against repression and as an environment to learn from each other. Throughout the day, however, police changed their rules again and again, making it very difficult to invite people inside. Students from any Berlin university were allowed into the negotiations with the HU president. There, six students shared their experiences, including an anti-Zionist Jewish student. The negotiations ended when police stormed the building. They did not let hundreds of students leave, even after previously telling them they would be allowed to exit safely. The HU administration abandoned them inside while police corralled and kettled them. Others stayed inside to protest against the eviction with sit-ins. Over 140 students were detained and charged — even those who only attended the public negotiations.

Here's your daily reminder to click for Palestine!!!
U.S. residents, take 5 minutes and use this link to pressure your members of Congress to stop sending weapons to the Israeli military!!
(Letter variants you can copy/paste under the cut!!)
Original letter written by Jewish Voice for Peace:
I am writing as your constituent to ask that you do everything in your power to press the Biden administration to suspend all weapons shipments to the Israeli military, and oppose all future military funding to Israel. The Israeli government has vowed to push forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah, even though President Biden has repeatedly said such an operation would be a "red line." On May 7, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and ordered 100,000 Palestinians in eastern Rafah to evacuate. The 1.3 million displaced Palestinians sheltering in Rafah will have nowhere to flee should a full invasion commence. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. I urge you to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late. Thank you.
Slight variations I created (so that emails don't get marked as spam for being identical to each other)
Variation 1:
I'm writing to you today as your constituent to ask you to do everything you can to pressure the Biden administration into suspending all weapons shipments to the Israeli military and opposing any and all future military funding to Israel! The Israeli government is pushing forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah. President Biden has repeatedly said such an operation would be a "red line," yet his administration is still supporting this operation. On May 7th, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and forced 100,000 Palestinians in eastern Rafah to abandon their homes. 1.3 million Palestinians have been displaced. Those sheltering in Rafah have nowhere to flee during a full invasion. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. Their fate lies in the hands on Congress, in your hands. I urge you to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late. Thank you.
Variation 2:
I'm writing you today to ask that you do everything in your power to convince the Biden administration to stop funding Israel. We have to telk them to stop all shipments of weapons to the Israeli military and oppose all future military funding to Israel. The Israeli government has vowed to push forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah... President Biden made it clear that such an operation would be a "red line," and yet he continues to fund them. On May 7th, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and forced 100,000 Palestinians to flee their own home of Eastern Rafah. Should a full invasion commence, 1.3 million displaced Palestinians sheltering in Rafah will have nowhere safe to go. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. I am begging you now, as your constituent, to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late.... Thank you.

Another pro-Palestinian zombie destroys art. This time, a girl mauls and forever ruins the famous painting of Lord Balfour at Cambridge University. As if this will erase Jewish indingeneity history in the land.

The anti-student protestors are carrying Israeli flags, crying about "antisemitism" with little to no evidence, and are ignoring the obvious police brutality in nearly every video going out (that is happening to many Jewish student protestors). Something tells me they don't really care about human rights.
Biden is a dumbass who doesn't even have the balls to be upfront about his bullshit. He's never supported protestors, only the concept. Same thing as in 2020, he condemned the "violence" of the riots without acknowledging the police brutality that turned them into such to begin with. He condemns the actions of the students but not of the police, who have been filmed committing every type of bodily harm they can think of.
We stand with the protestors, as we stand with Palestine. From the river to the sea.

Jumblr is trending again cuz it’s where zionists like to go to hide (obviously not everyone in the jumblr tag, there are some genuine great posts about Jewish culture and takes and all sorts of stuff, and I wish that was the entire tag, but unfortunately most of what I saw just now was people trying to justify a genocide)
Looking at those posts…the mental gymnastics people go through to convince themselves that Israel is somehow morally correct here and anyone supporting Palestine is evil and anti-Semitic is crazy. I mean those posts are practically unintelligible

guys uh. i woke up this morning to find d.eath to c.anada trending on twitter (& i never go on twitter these days) which i agree with in the sense that a state supporting apartheid & genocide of indigenous peoples & also continues to arm medinat yisrael the modern state despite their literal war crimes & what they're doing to palestine syria & lebanon w/ other things is horrible so out of curiosity i click on it &. the main protester said land back (awesome!!) & "the palestinians will return" (WOOHOO) but she (i don't know her name) literally said october 7th was a "miraculous operation" (...you mean when a literal holocaust survivor was killed?) & "we are hezbollah, we are hamas". i was fine with everything else until i heard that. like atp i can't keep quiet. like. this is actually concerning to me. as an antizionist native jew i'm naturally all for the land back movement, i'm all for free palestine as i've said & demonstrated many times before. but like. you can protest & fight to end the genocide & colonialism & imperialism & the occupation & want liberation for different people & fight antisemitism & islamophobia & save as many lives as possible (naturally as you SHOULD) without glorifying literal terrorist groups & their literal war crimes. y'all realize that right. y'all realize that you can fight for more than one community & cause at the same time right. i& like i looked up hezbollah's past leader, s.ayyed n.asrallah, & like. guys he was Not a good fucking person. he point blank said "if we searched the entire world for a person more cowardly, despicable, weak and feeble in psyche, we would not find anyone like the jew", "what do the jews want? they want security and money, throughout history the jews have been Allah's most cowardly and avaricious creatures, if you look all over the world, you will find no one more miserly or greedy than they are", supported holocaust denial saying that the jews exaggerated the legend of the nazi atrocities & the numbers are greatly exaggerated & condemned jews as murderers of the prophets. do. do y'all understand that. do y'all understand how antisemitic that is. if you want the end of the occupation, if you want a peaceful resolution & if you want to save as many lives as possible, supporting & glorifying someone like that postmortem is not how to do it, obviously i'm not saying we have to stand around & be passive & do nothing while the israeli government does it's horrible shit but we can support the free palestine movement without glorifying the actions of a literal raging antisemite who believed in holocaust denial. we need to be mindful of who we're supporting & whether or not said people or groups are problematic whether it's antisemitism or islamophobia. guys can we turn on our logical brains PLEASE before someone gets hurt or g-d forbid even worse.

also just in case anyone only heard about the protest at the synagogue in LA but not about the fact that the synagogue was being used to host a real estate event that illegally sold land in the occupied west bank (and in fact referred to selling land in the "best anglo neighborhoods in israel" which... oof), and THAT was what the protesters were there for. to protest the illegal sale of occupied land (both domestically and internationally illegal btw. domestically illegal because these sales are racially discriminatory, and internationally because they are the sales of illegally occupied territories) not because it's a synagogue and they are antisemitic.
because while the optics of protesting a synagogue are never good, the story was so fucking disgustingly misrepresented and no doubt fucking terrified jewish ppl in los angeles because it was being referred to as a pogrom.
you can read ifnotnow LA's excellent statement on this here.

Do not stop talking about Palestine. Do not forget about Palestine. This is not a battle of religion and I do not think it should be treated as such. From the river to the sea, they will be free 🇵🇸
Disclaimer: I am not an expert. I am just some guy in the US. I am not a direct source of information. Please listen to Palestinians. Please help them directly. Please help with protests if your country is supplying Israel with weapons like the US.
#but wait there's more#it may take a while for me to gather my thoughts so not immediately#I have so many thoughts specially about holy land experience type shit#my personal belief is that Palestinians should be given back their land#Israel will become a part of Palestine and would receive full citizenship#and all of them will be treated as equals#Aid will go to Palestinians as the country and rebuilt as much as it can be after so much tragedy#Since the idea of Israel was to have a protective Jewish state#I think the better option would be for the world to agree collectively to be a place for refugees#if there's another situation like the holocaust#all refugees should be given that opportunity to escape#there's so many conspiracies against Jewish people which is why I think it needs to be declared by countries to protect any Jewish person#that is fleeing antisemitism in their current country#it doesn't need to be a Jewish state especially with so many Jewish people being pro-Palestine#and living outside of Israel#I know people currently living in Israel and I want them to be safe#And they will be if their government just lets Palestinians live#but yea later on I'll talk about the holy land experience thing I'm pissed about rn#I feel like I haven't said enough on the blog. I have terrible OCD where I'll ruminate about this until I panic#I do not want to be a source of that for others so I encourage you to educate yourself without ruminating#It does not help Palestine to shame yourself and others for not being able to do a specific thing#So instead I ask you to look it up when you are able to and do what you can#I usually do the daily clicker and I wanted to join my university's protests but couldn't#since I was the only one working my job which is monitoring the queer safe space on campus#and I didn't want to close that area just in case it was need by protesters or queer students#just found out today ppl at my school will be expelled if caught so that's why it's at the front of my mind rn

so ur argument is that “arabs” are currently risking their lives while living under dictatorships that have normalised relations with israel to protest for palestinians because *checks notes* they just hate jewish ppl?
ur argument is that “arab countries” fought israel in the 1960s as a result of israel’s hostilities against palestinians bc they just. hate jewish ppl?
ur argument is that “arab countries” which had hundreds of thousands of jewish ppl for thousands of years just woke up coincidentally the same time israel came to exist, the same time as the nakba, and suddenly expressed their hatred of jewish ppl despite coexisting with jewish ppl for centuries in a way europeans were unable to?
if u want to argue “arabs” hate each other, i can at least agree with that but to claim “arabs” hate palestinians bc palestinians r just so evil but hate jewish ppl more & therefore support palestine.. u just sound like an idiot to me.
the way zionists oversimplify the middle east & middle eastern history is genuinely insane. the way they utilise the same argument points antisemites made to justify antisemitism is insane. where else did i hear the argument that a certain population is evil, manipulative, sly and criminal and tricks others into feeling sympathy for them but no population genuinely likes them bc they’re just so sly and evil? oh.. wait yeah that’s literally what antisemites say about jewish people to justify & normalise antisemitism. and here zionists are using these same arguments to dehumanise palestinians & normalise hatred against them as somehow factual.

Coworkers & clients keep asking me if I've heard about the various student protests for Palestine taking place in the US and the fact that many protestors keep harassing random Jews. And like a) yeah, I'm aware and b) you aren't asking any of my other coworkers about this, I know you're only asking cause you know I'm Jewish, it's weird.

We can’t get a functional healthcare system or a solution to school shootings or a federal minimum wage above the poverty line or the fucking ability to expel actual fucking nazis from our congress but somehow we can get a near unanimous vote to equate antizionism with antisemitism, something that is only going to harm Jewish people even more than they already are. What a joke country this is
