You know it's a real romance coming when Richie and Fak notice Sydney and Carmy's chemistry.

This is the role Fak and Richie play all season. Richie and Fak play trouble-making handymen who wanted to be Cupid. But the show tells us Fak and Richie have no idea what they're doing when it comes to bringing two people together.

Fak instigates a romance between Syd and Marcus, along with Claire and Carmy, but their fixing is going all wrong, just like Carmy and Claire's romance.

Carmy has turned down any further fixing by Fak and Richie once he gets the girl, there's no more 'fixing up' they have to do- but in the next episode, Fishes, tells us his problems aren't fixed by this relationship with Claire. Carmy is far from fixing.

Then we get to 2x09, where Richie and Fak change; they're focused on themselves and stop paying attention to Carmy- Fak asks if Claire is coming. "We love her so much," "Yeah, I like Claire, cousin"

It's a moment where we realize we have yet to hear Carmy's true feelings; we only know Richie and Fak's feelings for Claire because they've budded in and tried to fix things all season.

After all the trouble...We return to Sydney and Carmy, where there are no comments from outsiders. No credit being given for who brought them together.

It's just Sydney and Carmy.
