“Pleeeaase,” I whined softly, glancing at the brothers with wide, watery eyes. “I always play Fortnite and your games—even though I don’t like them!” My nose scrunched as I crossed my arms, sinking deeper into my pout.

My lower lip trembled, a tiny sniff escaping as I peeked at them, hoping they’d agree to the new Roblox tycoon I’d been dying to try.

Chris noticed immediately, stepping closer and taking my hands in his gently. “Don’t cry, bun. We’ll play whatever you want,” he said softly, his voice soothing as he glanced at his brothers for confirmation.

Nick rolled his eyes but smirked. “Didn’t we already play Hello Kitty World yesterday because someone begged us to?”

My cheeks flushed pink as I buried my face against Chris’s shoulder, leaning into his warmth. “I liked yesterday,” I mumbled shyly. “But this time, I wanna be on Matt’s team.”

Chris froze, pulling back slightly. “Wait, what? Matt? Not me?” His voice pitched higher, his expression comically alarmed.

I whimpered softly, tugging at his sleeve to bring him closer again. “Chris…”

“We’re the best team, bunny!” he argued, his lips forming an exaggerated pout.

“You… you always run away when someone attacks us!” I murmured, fidgeting with the hem of my sleeve. “Then I’m left to fight them alone and lose everything!”

Chris gasped, sitting back with his arms crossed. “Fine. Go be with Matt. Or maybe I just won’t play at all.”

The brothers’ laughter echoed as Matt and Nick headed off to start their PCs, leaving Chris sulking dramatically on the couch.

I crawled closer, wrapping my arms around him and nuzzling into his neck. “Don’t be mad at me, Chris,” I whispered, voice soft and pleading. “I’ll always be on your team. Promise.”

Chris’s arms finally circled me as he sighed, his pout melting into a teasing smirk. “I’m not mad, bunny. I just wanted to hear you say it.”

Yes, yes, I'm aware that the Great Gatsby is supposed to be a tragedy, a commentary on the unssustainability of the American Dream and it ruins it if Gatsby moves on because the point is he CAN'T

I got upset that Nick's agency looked so rundown because RoboDad deserves better. So I fixed it up and decorated it with mods to give him a better place to live and work.

His office is still messy and disorganized but there’s a lot more storage so that everything has a proper place, it just gets moved around a lot.

Nick’s desk area now has a bunch of pictures and notes taped to the wall to help him spell out his thoughts on recent cases.

There’s also a picture of Maggie on his desk to remind him of his lady love.

His guest room looks a lot more cozy with actual sheets on the bed and pillows.

I know it’s kinda implied that it’s actually Nicks bed and Ellie sleeps upstairs, but I like to think she has her own apartment elsewhere.

Nicks new room has a big and luscious bed because he deserves to have one and no one can tell be otherwise. Let Gramps have some comfort dang it.

And there are books everywhere because Valentine seems like the type who likes to read and write. Some of those he wrote himself.

That carved duck on the dresser was a gift from a grateful client. Actually, most of the stuff he has are gifts because so doubt he’ll buy much comforts for himself.
