Ok so I’m waiting for my friend so we can watch blood origin together but the first like 5 minutes that I’ve watched has made me question something. Is it gay if you’re willing to fuck yourself? Like surely it’s gotta be right? You’ve got the same parts soooo? This is in the effort of trying to figure out if jaskier is canonically bisexual as fuck
#jaskier#joey batey#the witcher#blood origin#Tbf burn butcher burn gave us all the bisexual confirmation we need but just for the sake of it ya know?

I had a much more elaborate post planned but oh god everything about Jaskier in Season 3 is so hysterical right now??
I've known that they were probably confirming his bisexuality for over a year - ever since the audition tapes for a "male royal who flirts with Jaskier" were leaked. The fact that it's a whole romance is excellent, but the theory that Jaskier's chemistry with Geralt (and Yennefer as well honestly) led the showrunners to make this change has me absolutely howling.
Oh, you want Jaskier to have a complicated relationship with a man who has long [blond] hair and he writes a sad love song about him? You want him to have an on-off relationship with a beautiful woman? We've got you! (◠‿・)—☆
I will always have a soft spot for Jaskier and Geralt especially. But as fun as it is to speculate in fanon, ultimately I knew it wasn't happening. I think the very best we can hope for in that direction is an acknowledgement of one-sided feelings, and to me, having Jaskier acknowledged as queer or bi - that he "doesn't see gender" - is way beyond my wildest dreams already.
I really want to know more about Radovid and Vespula! Will Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri ever find out that their bard has caught feelings?? Will Jaskier ever have to choose his family over his newfound love? They've drastically changed Radovid for the show - what implications will that have??
(Basically can it be June 29th already???)

Every time I see a comment to the effect of "Jaskier (of The Witcher) has to be straight! He slept with those lords' wives." I'm going to start taking that as a dogwhistle of biphobia since the character in the Netflix series has been confirmed as bisexual and in 2023 I really shouldn't have to explain to adults that bisexual men can be attracted to women too...

The upcoming season three series is expected to confirm Jaskier's bisexuality, an exciting development. Furthermore, there have been hints that Jaskier will enter into a romantic relationship with Radovid despite Radovid traditionally being portrayed as an antagonist. This presents an opportunity for a poignant and tragic love story between the two characters.
Granting these two characters the most endearing romantic moments reminiscent of those found in heartwarming romantic comedy films. Unveiling a compelling twist, it becomes evident that Radovid harbours a deep aversion towards anything associated with magic, while Jaskier, under the guise of Sandpiper, has been secretly aiding the elves. Exploring a dramatic turn of events, Radovid's anger escalates to the point where he attempts to take Jaskier's life, only to be thwarted by Geralt, who comes to the bard's rescue. This heart-wrenching incident leaves Jaskier shattered and devastated, forced to depart with a broken heart.

2023 really was a banner year for my faves:
Jaskier's bisexuality? Confirmed in season 3 of The Witcher. Booker's bisexuality? Confirmed by The Old Guard creator, Greg Rucka. The Captain (James') homosexuality? Confirmed in season 5 of Ghosts.
Roll on 2024. May the queers keep winning.

I'm going to say this incredibly bluntly, but The Witcher (finally) providing canon confirmation and representation of Jaskier's bisexuality is nothing but a blatant grab for ratings and views and positive engagement in a piss-poor attempt to revive itself.
Jaskier deserves better. Joey Batey, who's thrown his entire being into this role, deserves better. The fans deserve better.
From the moment the show was announced they've been skirting the topic, flirting with it whenever it suits them and outright ignoring it when they can't think of anything smart and vague to say. Baiting fans by coyly saying they couldn't possibly confirm he is, but they can't deny he is either.
Using it as a counter to try and stop their public image and longevity disintegrating is just... So fucking disappointing. Its been done before by other shows, both with queer characters and with other concepts, but again.
Joey and Jaskier deserved more. Jaskier being acknowledged as bisexual should've been its own moment. It should've been for the character, not for the profit.

Anyone who knows me knows how hard I ride for LGBTQ representation, and since today is Bi Visibility Day, why not share some of my favorite bisexual characters?
This is a long ass list, so I'll keep the commentary short. I'll also try to keep it to the main characters, but there will inevitably be a few sides.
Rosa Diaz - Oh, the ways I love Rosa, she's mean, and yet she's kind. She moved because one person knew her address, and I want to live that life. Now, she is a cop, but she does leave the force in B99's attempt to continue the show after 2020.
Patrick Zweig, Art Donaldson, and Tashi Duncan—only one of these isn't confirmed, but it's true in my heart. They're all toxic and a mess, and essentially in a throuple.
Calliope Torres - Later in life realization. Still has sex with men over the series. She's special because she's also annoying.
Carina Deluca, Amelia Sheperd, Maya Bishop - all from the Shondaland ABC universe.
Annalise Keating - Not nearly as celebrated as she should be. Wonder why?
Alice Whitley - she's black, biromantic, and asexual. Get into it.
Bob Belcher - he's "mostly straight," and he's animated, so that's fun.
David Rose - technically, I think he uses pansexual? He likes the wine and not the label.
Random shoutout to Jake from Schitt's Creek as well cause he's bisexual and has the audacity.
Harley Quinn - if you have yet to see her animated series where she gets with Poison Ivy, what are you even doing? That leads me to...
Poison Ivy - She's also mean, cares about the environment, and that's hot.
Jon Kent - bet you didn't know Superman's son was bisexual.
Lindsay - I'm just going to assume that you haven't seen Queer as Folk, and like..you should fix that.
Chuck Bass - I know, I know. He sucks, but that's what representation is all about.
Chuck/God—This is literally from a one-off line in S11, but isn't it cool that God is bisexual?
Leopoldo, Cruz, and Ivan - Elite is honestly kind of a terrible show, but it is fun.
Max - so basically if you haven't seen Black Sails...what are you even doing with your life?
Sarah - Orphan Black is another show that must be seen.
Jaskier - Idk if this is one that people would mind getting into. The Witcher is a very confusing show, but, like, I love it. & Yennefer of Vendenberg is not bisexual, but she is a hot witch, so that's worth it.
Now, I can get into the characters that are extra special to me.
Marie and Jordan from Gen V - okay, these two are particularly special because Jordan has powers that allow them to switch between male and female presenting, and where else do we see the literal physical embodiment of a non-binary person? Also, there's a little slice of commentary about how they switch to their male form whenever they want to make a point, and they are nervous because they don't think Marie likes them in their female form, and that's rectified by the end. & Marie is, of course, besotted by them no matter their form, and she's got cool, blood-bending powers, and she's hot.
Ashley Davies - you will not find her on any of those listicles that publications make of the top bisexual characters, but you must know who she is because she is the character that started it all for me. On a little show called South of Nowhere about her and Spencer (a newly out lesbian) having a whirlwind high school romance. She's edgy and emotionally unavailable, she's kind of mean, but most of the time, she doesn't mean it, and she means a lot to me, so if you don't like her, keep that shit to yourself.
Kat Edison - my main bitch, my main squeeze, and the love of my life. She's a bisexual disaster, but that's okay because I love her. Heavily identify with her, and I hold her close to my heart.
Evan Buckley— I don't make a habit of relating to male characters; that's not my ministry, but Buck is a very special case. I didn't even click with him until 3x16, and then boom. I was rocked to my core by how much I relate to him, and now he's Bi! I don't have enough words yet to explain what that feels like but shout out to him.
#no one ever reads these lmao but hey#if you read this whole thing shout out to YOU i am a certified yapper#B99#schitts creek#the bold type#911 abc#south of nowhere#Gen V#orphan black#greys anatomy#HTGAWM#the challengers#queer as folk#lord knows i'm probably missing some

Why I'm excited and not worried about the Witcher season 3
season 3 will be awesome and much closer to the books than season 2, don't believe me? I have proof
We are now about 3 weeks out from the season 3 premier, comparatively 3 weeks out from season 2 there where already reports about a lot of the stuff that wasn't in the books.
-Eskel`s death,
-2 big fight scenes at Kaer Morhen,
-Voleth Meir,an all powerful evil magical being that tricks those who want their deepest desires,
-the scenes together with Yen and Fringilla
-and expanded roles for Istredd and Fringilla( I actually liked these editions finding them much more interesting than in the books where they are just involved in love triangle stuff with Geralt and Yen)
but we know that many beloved scenes from Time of Contempt are making it in as well as a few crucial skipped moments from blood of elves
based on the trailer we are getting alot more family bonding, fluff, laughter Yen teaching Ciri magic, Geralt and Yen rekindling there relationship , Geralt and Jaskier actually being friends now ( apparently the writers have learned that you can have slow moments of characters just talking, laughing and getting along, they don't have to just bicker, fight monsters , and encounter evil all the time ) (( that's the last of the salt in this post I promise))
first of all, Stephen Surjik director of the A Grain of Truth episode is returning
based on the trailer/stills, casting reports, as well as set scouting pictures from Redanian Intelligence, we have these scenes confirmed :
- Jaskier singing to the dryads in Brokilon
- the scenes in Shaerrawedd
-Geralt visiting Codringher and Fenn
-Ciri and Fabio Sachs, the circus and the Wyvern
- The Thanedd Ball
- Ciri in the Korath Desert, with Ihuarraquax
- Geralt fight with Vilgefortz
comparatively I don't think we had any confirmed in the book scenes in the speculation before season 2
the only changes I that I have found are:
Jaskiers bisexuality and romance with Radovid and Vespula
Id like to clear up some rumors here, they are not “ aging up a character who is later a tyrant” this Radovid is King Vizimir`s Brother, not his son, a completely different character, and there are multiple characters named Radovid in the Redanian royal line in the books so its not impossible for the two characters to happen to have the same name in this instance
for the people who are upset about this change, they already changed Jaskier from the books, there he’s the archetypical pervy, womanizer bard archetype, in the show he still sleeps around with wives alot but he`s more of a golden Retriever “ falls in love with everyone” type than a skirt chasing pervert. So if most people were positive about this change, why should what gender his lovers are matter homophobia that's why
Frankly im just glad we are getting a bisexual male character that will be involved romantically with a man a and a woman on screen as two different relationships I cant even think of any examples on tv of that
the possible premature fate of Rience
honestly this one is just set scouting speculation that he dies here, but I really don't think people are going to be as upset at a chaotic evil character dying as they were Eskel,
The original character of Gallatin
he seems to be somewhat inspired by Isengrim and Iorweth, a scarred elf that is the leader of the Scoia’tael guerrillas, based on the fact that they felt they had to make an original character rather than use one of those two,( they likely wont be killing any book characters off prematurely who are not a villains after whole Eskel debacle) as well as reports the actor wrapped filming quickly, seem to indicate he wont survive the season ( could this be part of what leads Cahir into joining the hanza next season)
to conclude im super excited, this season is packed with scenes I ( and alot of others) have been really wanting to see I cant wait
