No, but like, imagine you're jaskier. A bard painfully in love with your weirdly mutated wolf witcher. A magical thing tells you the story of the first ever dog Witcher, and you're like "ok, cool" and then she tells you how this fucking dog is in love with a BARD who gets called basically the same things you get called.

And they are in mutual love and it's like the best most romantic love to be ever existed.

Alright, so I have been doing some thinking on this. Blood Origin Avallac'h is literally a teenager.

So, the young mage figures out how to travel through time. That means that TWN Avallac'h is much closer to Ciri's age. (she is 16-17 by the end of the book) What oh, what might you be plotting dear writers?

How will Avallac'h and Lara's engagement be handled? Them being teenagers perhaps makes a little more sense. A young Lara engaged to someone she doesn't like with a ton of responsibilities runs away with a human mage. (Lara never got pregnant from Avallac'h so I would imagine they were never actually together or married only engaged to be married)

He still looks young in the doorway. He is still wearing his apprentice robes. Could this be right after Lara dies? Is he here looking for some sort of solace? After all his expression clearly isn't 'evil' as some claim or even a real smile. It doesn't reach his eyes. There is something else in his face here. What are you doing in this moment Avallac'h? What are you thinking? What are you feeling? Does she bring to mind Lara? Speculation is my bread and jam, and this has given me a lot to think about.

Things that i will be thinking abt until June 29th drops:

Will the Witcher Netflix universe have homophobia? I ask cause in Blood Origin, people were gay af, and no one batted an eye, but that was when the world was just the elves, and the elves are super chill.

My worry is, when the human spheres collided and combined, did the humans like?bring homophobia with them?? I understand homophobia exists in the games (and maybe the books? Idk I'm 60 pages into The Last Wish rn) but The Witcher is a fantasy show baby!! tons of shows are pulling the "homophobia?? I don't know her" thing, and I hope Netflix Witcher continues the same trend

Will Jask get a label for his sexuality, or does he not really need one/do sexuality labels even exist here

Idk why, but this really intrigues me. I know the article used the word "bisexual," but I wonder if they'll use that in the show or if they'll just not bother with labels, which I also really like

Anyway: I sorta hope that for season 3, they won't conveniently make him bi the whole time, trust me I love the fact that he is cannon queer now, it makes me happy in ways I cannot describe

but I'd also love to see him discover it. It would be really cool and a nice little B plot for him. It doesn't have to be season long arc or anything dramatic, just a little italicized "oh" moment would b cool

Issue no 27 - Lullaby for Yennefer

From Chapter 7: Bard Comfort of "Where the Tulips Grow."

"Grit your teeth, Yen, this is going to sting." Yennefer gives a curt nod. She has lived through worse in her long life, much worse. Moreover, to her own surprise and against all reason, she trusts 'doctor' Jaskier. As a lutenist he has dextrous, sensitive fingers, hasn't he? Surely a lot more so than Geralt. Jaskier is an artist. He will be good and gentle with a needle, too. Like he is with everything he does.

It does sting when Jaskier carefully cleanses the injury with a cloth soaked in hot water, of course it does, and even more so when he pours copious amounts of a cold liquid onto it that smells like some very strong spirit. Judging from the deep sigh he gives while doing so, a spirit he is loath to part with, but still he does, for her. Yennefer clenches her teeth as hard as she can and only gives a low groan at the burning sensation that radiates from her side into her whole body. It does not get any better, either, when Jaskier starts to insert the first stitch, then the next. She tries to concentrate on his gentle voice that accompanies every stab of the needle with soft, soothing words. To her amazement, it helps a lot more than expected. It is almost a bit like magic. Perhaps it is magic after all? Jaskier's very own, very personal magic? A magic she could easily get lost in. Yennefer sighs. Maybe this is exactly what she should do, get lost in his voice and his touch and forget about the pain and the world and just fall asleep to the gentle lullaby he has begun to sing to her. Or is it a love song?

"He watches the morning light catch on her raven hair. Curves of her lips promisin' a life that they will share. Two lovers intertwined in the light of a winter's dawn. As the rubble of war sweeps down through the valley. So, stay with me, oh, lover, my heart's filled with worry. Stay with me, oh, lover, the borders are burning. And war is yearning to take you away from me. And to bury you deep in the clay down below. So, come to me, oh, lover, my heart is still burning. Come to me, oh, lover ..."

Jaskier keeps on singing the song of the Lark, the elven warrior who killed both an Empress and her lover to save to world. A hauntingly sad song, but still full of hope and love and yearning. The song the mysterious shape-shifting elven storyteller taught him along with the tale of the Seven. He keeps on singing until the last stitch is done and the wound dressed in fresh, clean bandages, until Yennefer relaxes in his arms and falls deeply asleep to his tune with a little smile on her lips, a smile as sweet as the promise of spring. Tenderly, Jaskier tucks the blankets around his sleeping beauty and kisses her good-night on the cheek. Then it is time to finally see to his own leg. No, wait. A disturbing image springs to his mind all of a sudden. Fuck! Almost worried out of his mind for Yennefer, he totally forgot about her, imagine this! His lute, she is still out there. Possibly lying broken beyond repair in the dark and rain. A jolt of panic grips the bard. Looks like he is not quite done rescuing loved ones yet, no. He has to get to her immediately. And yes, don't laugh, his lute is a she and she has a name, too. However, her name is his secret, and it will remain a secret as long as he can sing. So, hopefully until the last breath he breathes on this continent. Preferably in the far, far away future.

Just watched blood origins and it was not great HOWEVER we’re not gonna acknowledge that the very first Witcher was in love with a bard? And not only was he in love with her - the entire reason he became a Witcher was to protect her?

Thinking more about the season 3 timeline:

is the sneak peek from episode one? Like are we actually going to watch Geralt, Yenn, Ciri, Jaskier and the dwarves come down the mountain? And if so, does that mean the dwarves were at the Keep during s2ep8? Where???? Like could they hear the battle and we’re like, “nah, I’m sure it’s fine.”

And if this is episode 1, where did Jaskier get the lute? Did the witchers just have one lying around? And if he already has a lute episode 1, where to the scenes from Blood Origin fit in?

I am confused. Are we going to see Jaskier leave the group, maybe to go with the elves? Does he then get captured by humans? Do the elves save him again? How is he getting back to Oxenfurt to deal with Phillipa?

Congrats, we have entered the moment where I’m trying to piece together the drama and failing. 😆
