STAR WARS RANT
Subject: REPRESENTATION ❤️
As an East Asian person, it is so refreshing to finally see an Asian Jedi in a leading role. How I’ve WAITED for this moment. Star Wars has taken loads of inspiration from Asian culture so it’s really nice to see actual Asian people in the franchise recently like Lee Jung Jae, Ming Na Wen, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Natasha Liu Bordizzo.
The Acolyte features a very diverse cast and it’s so wonderful to see people from different communities being represented and celebrated in such a huge franchise like Star Wars.
Also, I’m very much enjoying the show right now. It’s original, it’s expansive and it’s thought provoking. We’re finally getting an original tale, in an era which we’ve never seen before that is giving us a “why-dun it?” mystery. And the fan boys are mad about it??? Like what???
Lee Jung Jae is a legendary actor and I’m so glad he’s apart of Star Wars. This man has made me shed tears as Master Sol and I’m looking forward to the rest of the Acolyte series.
My uncle made a comment about how he can finally cosplay as an Asian Jedi cause he looks like Sol! Representation doesn’t stop at children, it extends to older adults as well.
In conclusion: to be represented in media, means you exist.
Representation allows us to see ourselves as heroes, villains and everything in between. Without representation, how could we ever dream of being more?

I may have posted or drafted this before, but I don't remember so here we go again.
Jon Matteson agrees that Richie is very trans coded, and it would be epic sauce if we could get real confirmation on that, but I feel like Jon wouldn't feel comfy playing a trans male as a cis male, so listen.
Jae Hughes as Richie.
Seriously, I'm begging.
Not only does that fulfill trans Richie, but we could also get Trevor and Richie and the same room; Paul and Richie in the same room.
Most special to my heart though. The CCRP-Nerd Family all in the same room. Charlotte and Ruth, Ted and Pete (Nick Lang), and Paul and Richie (Jae Hughes)
Or I guess you could do Jae Hughes Paul.

Starkid Starlight Express
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All aboard the Starkid dreamcast for Starlight Express, Andrew Lloyd Weber’s beautiful mess of a musical! I know this show has about seven different versions, but I used the current German version as the basis for this dreamcast (with obvious concessions of skating abilities). This has been one of the most anticipated dreamcasts yet based on the amount of people who voted for it, so I hope it doesn’t disappoint!
1. Brian Rosenthal as Rusty 2. Kim Whalen as Pearl 3. Curt Mega as Greaseball 4. Jae Hughes as Electra 5. Lauren Walker as Mama 6. Denise Donovan as Dinah 7. Jon Matteson as Caboose 8. Alex Paul as Carrie 9. Britney Coleman as Belle 10. Richard Campbell as Dustin 11. Nico Ager as Manga 12. Will Branner as Volta 13. Tyler Brunsman as Ruhrgold 14. Brant Cox as Brexit 15. Hamilton Davis as Rocky 2 16. Corey Dorris as Turnov 17. Mariah Rose Faith as Joule 18. Brian Holden as Flat Top 19. Janaya Mahealani Jones as Rocky 3 20. Lauren Lopez as Coco 21. Joey Richter as Espresso 22. James Tolbert as Rocky 1 23. Virginia Vass as Wrench 24. Joe Walker as Killerwatt
Swings: Clark Baxtresser, Bryce Charles, Eric Kahn Gale, Alle-Faye Monka, Joe Moses, Rachael Soglin
Understudies: Nico Ager (Brexit, Espresso, Ruhrgold), Clark Baxtresser (Ruhrgold, Turnov, Manga, Wrench), Will Branner (Electra), Tyler Brunsman (Caboose, Dustin, Volta), Bryce Charles (Pearl, Belle, Coco, Rocky 3), Brant Cox (Rusty, Caboose), Hamilton Davis (Greaseball), Corey Dorris (Flat Top, Rocky 1, Rocky 3), Mariah Rose Faith (Dinah), Eric Kahn Gale (Rocky 1, Rocky 2, Killerwatt, Espresso), Janaya Mahealani Jones (Mama, Belle), Lauren Lopez (Carrie, Volta), Alle-Faye Monka  (Pearl, Carrie, Joule, Wrench), Joe Moses (Dustin, Flat Top, Rocky 2, Turnov), Joey Richter (Greaseball, Killerwatt), Rachael Soglin (Mama, Dinah, Brexit, Manga), James Tolbert (Rusty, Electra), Virginia Vass (Joule, Coco)
Make sure to leave any show suggestions or any questions on my casting choices so I can explain them.

More about this wonderful campaign 🤧💕
Manu
We're very proud that FC Bayern fans have developed special signs for us players. No one should feel excluded here, a sports club should always be a home for everyone. I'm glad I now have my own sign and would love it if all fans remembered the signs to improve communication and with it the integration of people with hearing disabilities
Chairwoman of the Red Deaf FC Bayern fan club Martina Bechtold
It's been a pleasure for us to have developed signs for the players of FC Bayern. FC Bayern is a big family and we now feel even more a part of this community through this joint project. We've been thinking about the signs for many months, and it's been a special highlight implementing the project together with the players. We can now feel yet again: Mia san Mia!
FC Bayern disabled fans' representative Kim Krämer:
This joint project between FC Bayern and fans with hearing disabilities is another wonderful example of how inclusion is lived and breathed at this club. It's a great signal that the signs for the players were developed by the fans themselves. This is how you promote togetherness and a sense of community. FC Bayern is a home for everyone

I love the various paul shapera albums and that so many important characters in them are black or brown or people of color. I know that the character design fluctuates depending on who draws it, but there's something very weird to me about seeing Helen who's explicitly drawn as a brown skinned woman, being drawn as white by some of the fans. Also, as amazing as the cast is for all these albums are, I would absolutely love to see a black/brown singer on there being able to sing for a character that looked like them.

The Rocketeer Gets New One-Shot
Tumblr media
IDW Publishing has announced a new one-shot celebrating The Rocketeer. The one-shot is an anthology of three tales edited by Scott Dunbier.
Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo, the screenwriters of 1991′s The Rocketeer film, had written an unpublished Rocketeer comic book story many years ago. The story guest starred Amelia Earhart. Filmmaker Kelvin Mao and The Rocketeer producer Robert Windom approached artist Adam Hughes to illustrate the story, which led to the one shot.
In addition to the 8-page story by Bilson, De Meo, and Hughes, The Rocketeer one-shot includes a 12-page story from writer Kelvin Mao, artist Craig Cermak and colorist Laura Martin that tells of Cliff Secord’s date night with Betty, and a 4-page story from writer Robert Windom, artist Jae Lee, and colorist June Chung in which the Rocketeer fights a Japanese Zero in the South Pacific. The comic will also include pinups by Phil Noto and Maria Laura Sanapo.
The Rocketeer one-shot hits comic shops in May 2023 and will include several variant covers, including Cover A by Adam Hughes, Cover B by Gabriel Rodríguez, and two special retailer incentive “Full Art” variants of Hughes and Rodríguez’ art, respectively.
