Omggg, thank you for the ask! I actually have the sketches for all the other mercs as spooky month characters!! I came up with a bunch of them with a group of very talented artists on discord and just never got around to finish outlining and coloring them (cause I’m in my senior year of college and very burnt out 😭 and I probably never will) Kind of wish I’d added Bob somewhere, but I see him as maybe Classic Heavy!

So for the support I had Candy Dealer as Spy 💋 , Rick as Sniper, and then Dexter as Medic. It was a hard pick between Dexter and Streber but eventually we decided on Dexterrr

For Offense I had Radford as Scout, Ignacio as Pyro, and Jack as Soldier

For Defense I had Patty as Engineer, Frank as Heavy 💋, and John as Demoman

And then I had Kevin as Miss Pauling and Mayor Evermore as The Administrator

Jonathan Kent-Wayne who handed him his fresh out of the cloning chamber grandson who made it very clear what would happen to him.

Nevermind when they protect each other.

He only once questioned young Catherine one of her first nights guarding the alley following in Jaylads footsteps and before he could make himself known an arrow centimeters from his head. Leading back to Lian Harper and Lilith Drake. His two oldest grandchildren making it clear the threat.

He wonders if Tim and Jason know exactly how fierce their princesses are. Nevermind the horror of when John, Percy and Lilith get together Gotham was crime free for a month.

He minds very much, he hates that they do it, but if it wouldn't be his boys, it would be their daughters and they all absolutely terrify him.

The issue with having the TWST Halloween events happen at the same time for both servers mean that one overshadows the other 😫 it wasn’t really prevalent last year when ENG TWST had the NBC event and JPN TWST had Playfuland, but Skully has gotten really famous even outside the fandom that poor Fellow is being ignored 😓 This combined with his name change…he’s really not winning right now

I think it’s also a matter of preference. Skully is very easy to like immediately solely because (to those who aren’t familiar with twst) “omg anime boy Jack Skellington” or “omg Gojo reborn”!! Also,, Jack Skellington was and still is immensely popular. He’s one of the tumblr sexyman. It’s understandable that this amount of popularity would inevitably be thrust onto Skully. Additionally, Jack isn’t considered nearly as villainous as Frollo or Honest John (of course he isn’t completely innocent), considering he’s the protagonist of his film. He just has a lot of likability points in all areas, which allows for people both in and outside of the fandom to appreciate Skully’s character.

As for Rollo, he isn’t considered “attractive” by majority standards and it was easy to dislike him from the moment he was announced because of the villain he’s twsted from. (My personal, not objective whatsoever opinion is that they can never make me hate Rollo. I love him so very much. He’s everything to me.) I can’t give much of a thought for Fellow because his design is very attractive and it’s easier to not hate him solely because of this attractiveness(???). Like Rollo, they can never make me hate Mr. Fellow. <3 his name change may be discouraging, but he will forever be Fellow in our hearts. :D

Aaaa but maybe I’m rambling nonsense. T_T in short, I think it was destiny for Skully to become so popular. Even my friend who isn’t in the twst fandom at all found Skully on their tiktok fyp. He is just so popular!!!! :O

omg ok ok so @magicdyke and i were talking a lot about the dynamics of eva, raiden, and sunny on this mission...

more under cut but essentially we were thinking about how metal gear's ever-present themes of family/parenthood and escaping cycles of violence/abuse would factor into eva and raiden's characters at this point in metal gear canon especially wrt sunny being a baby everyone kind of canonically projects their hopes and dreams on to ...

for raiden we were really thinking about how this mission takes place after raiden’s child is miscarried (as far as he knows, anyway), hes in an alcoholic downward spiral, and he and rose are on the outs/broken up. going into this mission, raiden has practically nothing and has ditched everything else to go save a random baby whose life is tied to his own right after the death of his own son. his son little john.. john can be shortened to jack..... you know.. raiden's scary child soldier Jack The Ripper name that he tries to ditch at the end of mgs2… little john would be all of raiden’s hopes for the future & with naming him little john he'd be partially “redeeming” himself/jack the ripper, partially saving his own child self, and partially making sure the cycle of violence ends with him. but little john is dead, and never got a chance to live, at least in raiden's eyes at this point, so raiden’s hope to heal himself and protect the future (specifically a future for himself, maybe even one where he could leave the battlefield) is dead before it ever got off the ground.

and if i was raiden i would lowkey kill myself!! but he cant cuz sunny’s life is tied to his via nanomachines. so i think in canon this quest to save sunny is partly him freeing himself from the responsibility of sunny’s life so he can continue on his downward spiral, part of it is saving olga’s kid cuz she helped him and its the right thing to do, and part of it is he’s transferring all his hopes for little john/a better future onto sunny. and that becomes the main motivation as the mission goes on at least in my head. like sunny and raiden have such a sweet relationship cuz no matter what anyone else says or thinks raiden is sunny’s hero! and always will be! he went in and saved her from the patriots and pulled her out of a life of being twisted and used as a weapon. he did for her what no one did for him, and so no matter what he saved her and she loves him for that. and she saved him too because he probably wouldve kept spiraling if he didnt rediscover his purpose on this mission. downward spiral into saving this kid as a last ditch effort to tie up all lose ends before killing himself and then during the mission he realizes "Hey this is something i can do to fix the world just a little bit." and then he experiences major cyborg trauma and takes a bit before circling back to that during revengeance

the support network of eva actually looking out for raiden and committing to this mission and being upfront is also really key here imo. no one is manipulating raiden, for once, and no one is asking him to do things he doesnt want to. everyone is on the same page and its a mission raiden can take pride in. he's not a tool during this mission (at least not by the end, maybe he views himself as one at the start). even snake was manipulating and lying to raiden during mgs2. raiden just needs an upfront, no ulterior motive mission w people who care if he lives or dies that also saves a child from being a tool of war & spits in the face of the patriots as an added bonus.

and with eva on this mission too … she's been thrown under the bus by everyone shes worked for even though she was taken by the philosophers as a kid to literally Be Their Spy(like raiden taken by solidus and like sunny and most key LIKE OCELOT taken by the patriots). she gave her everything for the philosophers/patriots like she literally gave her body for both those organizations time and time again. she gave birth to liquid & solid snake and viewed them as her own children. she's a mother without children, taking in war orphans and working to stop the patriots. so here comes pathetic raiden who desperately needs guidance and help. AND he wants to go save a baby from the patriots?? revenge + breaking her own cycle of being taken and turned into a tool + she can play the roles of mentor and mother that she was denied time & time again. and then in exchange for this mission she has raiden go steal back bb’s body from the patriots. it sounds like eva is finally having her day...

sorry this is so long but we had a lot of thoughts on this mission yesterday and i even have some extra on how i think EE could fit in in an au.... i got rly excited

    That’s (Y/N). (Y/N) (Y/M/N) Routledge. My sister is a jack of all trades. Surfing, mischief, singing, boating, fishing, you name it, she’s probably good at it. Her favorite place to be is on the waves. She’s a feisty little firecracker and I often find myself dragging her out of a sticky situation. Love her to death. She’s a hoot.  

--- Your POV --- 

    “(Y/N)!” my best friend yells.   

    I throw my arm over my eyes and yell back, “What JJ? What could you possibly be yelling about this early in the morning?”  

    No response. I throw my arm down and poke my head up over the side of the hammock. Looking around I see no one and assume he’s just screwing with me. I close my eyes and throw my arm back over them. “(Y/N)!” This time I shoot up glaring around. Finally, I see the hood of the HMS Pogue up. Grumbling, I stumble out of my comfy spot and shuffle toward the dock. I can’t stop a large yawn as I spot JJ with his head buried under the hood.   

    I sigh rubbing the bridge of my nose, “What the fuck are you doin’, JJ?”  

    “Damn engine is clankin’ again,” comes his muffled reply as he fidgets with the engine.   

    I grab the back of his shirt and tug, “Get out of there, will ya? Before you screw something up.”  

    “I’m not gonna fuck it up. Hand me that wrench?” He responds pointing with his free hand. I roll my eyes and pick up the wrench, handing it to him before plopping down on the side of the boat. He fiddles around inside the engine compartment for a few moments before asking, “Where’s John B?”  

    “How should I know? I just woke up,” I answer, annoyance evident in my tone.  

    “Chill Princess. Was just askin’” he laughs.  

    A few moments go by of silence aside from the bumps and knocks of JJ’s tools and the soft splashing of the waves. Suddenly JJ yells, yanking his hand out of the boat’s insides and looking at it in frustration. “What’d you do?” I ask.  

    “Uhhhh,” he quickly hides his hand in his shirt, “Nothing just banged my hand.”  

    I get up from my seat and shuffle toward him. I gently tug his hand into view and spot a large gash across the back of his hand. He hisses as I wipe the blood away with my shirt. “I’ll go get the first aid kit.”  

    I clamber off the boat and make my way to the rebuilt Chateau. The first thing my brother did after the whole gold mess died down was rebuild our childhood home. Making my way to the bathroom I fish the first aid kit out of the cabinet and grab a towel from the hook. As I exit the bathroom, I bump into someone, “You’re usually not too eager to get bandaged up,” I comment, assuming it’s just JJ. The person places a gun to my stomach and puts their other hand over my mouth. I drop the supplies as I realize who it is.   

    “Make a single sound and I’ll shoot you,” Luke growls and I can’t help the wave of fear that rolls through me. “You’re coming with me, darlin’,” my stomach rolls. I debate my options mentally. I could try to fight him, but I have no real chance considering he’ll put a bullet in me before I can make it out the door. Before I can come up with any kind of exit strategy, he drags me out of the house and to a truck parked a good distance away from the dock. He shoves me in the passenger seat and takes off, keeping the gun trained on me the entire time. It’s not long before we pull into a marina and he’s yanking me around again. He drags me inside a houseboat and shoves me into a small room, tying my hands before leaving.  

--- JJ’s POV --- 

    I pause my one-handed work and drop the wrench to wipe blood away from my cut again. I look toward the house and see no sign of (Y/N). I check my phone and realize she’s been gone for a good fifteen minutes. She should’ve been back by now. I hear a truck rumble in the distance but think nothing of it as I make my way inside. “(Y/N)?” I walk through the house and finally see the first aid kit and a towel on the floor outside the bathroom, “(Y/N)!?” I yell, starting to panic. Ripping my phone out of my pocket I run outside as I dial John B’s number. It rings and rings and finally goes to voicemail. I dial again, still searching everywhere for any sign of (Y/N).   

    Finally, he picks up, “Yo, what’s up? Got that rust bucket running yet?”  

    “(Y/N)’s gone,” I say, too worried to beat around the bush.  

    “What? What do you mean she’s gone?”  

    “I mean she’s gone, man. She went inside to get the first aid kit because I cut my hand up and when she didn’t come back, I went looking for her,” my voice shakes as I hurriedly explain, “I found the first aid kit and a towel on the floor but no (Y/N).”  

    “We’re on our way now. Sit tight, don’t do anything stupid,” John B answers, sounding panicked himself, as the line clicks dead. I throw my phone at the ground and my fist at a tree. I was right outside. What the hell happened? I should’ve gone in with her. I throw another punch at the tree as countless similar thoughts run through my head.  

    By the time the Twinkie turns into the driveway, I’ve beat my knuckles bloody and am sitting on the porch steps with my head in my hands. After coming to a screeching halt, John B and Sarah jump out of the van. Sarah runs over to me, checking me over and taking note of my destroyed knuckles. John B on the other hand rushes inside and starts yelling for his sister. When he emerges from the Chateau, he’s frantic. Sarah stands and places her hand on his shoulder, “Just sit down and call Shoop.” She walks inside and returns soon after with the first aid kit.   

    “I need to file a missing person’s report,” John B states as Sarah takes a seat beside me and holds her hand out to me, expecting me to give her mine. “(Y/N) Routledge. She was last seen wearing,” he pauses and looks at me as he whispers, “What was she wearing?” I don’t have time to answer, “She was last seen like thirty minutes ago.” Having cleaned them of blood, Sarah wraps my hands in gauze as John B stands abruptly, “What do you mean I can’t file yet? She’s my sister!” He listens for a second as Sarah finishes with my bandages. “I don’t give a damn if it hasn’t been twenty-four hours. You know what? Put Shoop on. Let me talk to Shoop.” He removes his phone from his ear and glares at it, “They hung up.” His phone joins mine in the grass as he plops down beside me, dropping his head into his hands.  

    “You both just need to breathe for a sec, okay? We’ll find her. We’ll round everyone up and we’ll get her back,” Sarah states trying to calm us down. She pulls out her phone and types out a short message before returning her attention to us, “It’s gonna be okay.”  

    Feeling defeated I mumble, “‘Preciate the positivity but we don’t even know who took her.”  

    “We can’t just sit here,” John B firmly states, standing to return inside, probably in search of clues.  

    I drop my head back into my hands, yanking on my hair, “Fuck!” Sarah places her hand on my shoulder. “If I had gone inside with her instead of being focused on that damn boat- “   

    Sarah doesn’t let me finish, “Don’t you dare. Don’t start blaming yourself. You had no idea.”  

    John B returns, plopping back into his seat and assuming a position that copies mine. The three of us sit in silence for a while. Kie, Pope, and Cleo arrive and make their way to us. “What’s going on? Where’s (Y/N)?” Pope asks.  

    John B and I don’t bother to look up, so Sarah responds, “She’s missing.” Pope throws his hands up to his head and takes a few steps back   

    “Are you sure; sure she’s not just out doing (Y/N) stuff?” Cleo questions, fiddling with her knife.  

    “We’re sure. She went inside to get a first aid kit for JJ and didn’t come back out,” Sarah answers.  

    “Did you call the police?” Kie inquires, taking a seat beside Sarah.  

    “Of course, I called the cops Kie. They said we can’t file a report until she’s been missing 24 hours and wouldn’t let me talk to Shoop,” John B shoots back, sounding a bit harsh.  

    Before anyone else can say a word, my phone starts ringing from the weeds. I jump up and run over, “It could be her.” I pick it up and my hope falters. An unknown number is there where it should say Pogue Princess. I answer it anyway, “He-hello?”  

    “I want $100,000 in cash or you’ll never see your little girlfriend again,” comes a voice I hoped to never hear again, Luke.  

    I quickly run back over to the others and put my phone on speaker, “If you hurt her, I swear-”  

    Sarah pulls her phone out to record as soon as he starts to respond, “You swear? Swear what? What are you gonna do boy?” Shock plasters everyone’s features but he’s not done, “$100k in cash for your girl. You know what? Tell that Routledge boy he owes $100k too. And don’t even think about running to Shoop, soon as I catch wind of him, I’m putting a bullet between her pretty little eyes.” As he hangs up, Sarah ends the video and starts toward the van.  

    “Where’re you going?” John B inquires as I stand there frozen in shock and fear.  

    “We can take this video to Shoop and then he has no choice than to help us find her,” she answers.  

    This shakes me back to reality, “No! He’ll kill her.”  

    “He won’t if he has no clue. The police are trained for this sort of thing.”  

    “Sarah, we’ll find her and then send Shoop after him. I’m not risking my sister’s life,” John B interjects.  

    Sarah looks at us, silently begging us to do what she thinks is the right thing. Having no such luck, she looks to the other three hoping for backup.  

    Cleo nods her head as Pope speaks up, “I’m kind of with Sarah here.”  

    Kie shrugs, “She’s right They’re trained for this. We’re not.” John B and I look at each other knowing we’re outnumbered and we all head for the Twinkie.

Third Wheel - I challenged myself to write the smuttiest smut I could write and this was what happened. Reader grew up with the Campbells, starts off with Soulless Sam, adds Dean later, there's some angst when Sam gets his soul back, but there's a happy ending. Cuz I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

As for Rook not liking to be touched, (ignoring my bias that I’m going to address in a minute) it’s more of a Rook thing: she prefers to do “the hunting” and pinning someone down completely is like her instinct. Mine follows Jack’s (grown) niece and nephew and the two security guards who were hired last minute to deal with theft and scientist brawls. Jack’s niece and nephew are there for tech support essentially and have an empire based on selling pirated digital media and trading with local populations for booze and trinkets. Aside from that, it follows all the lower ranks, non-main characters like Chuck (the Canadian guy in the gate room) where it’s like yeah great Sheppard is doing that stuff, but what is Botanist #3 up to? It’s because of that that I’ve named the fic Atlantis: Lower Decks.

i've had this in my mind for a while now, slightly based around the song a punch up at a wedding by radiohead. angst galore, btw.

essentially schlatt crashes the reader's wedding. they are long exes and reader is getting married to their partner. schlatt still has some feelings for reader and is surprised to get an invite.

he was invited in a sort of "let's let bygones be bygones" way (and partly bc reader hasn't spoke to him since the breakup and wanted him to know they were getting married)

he originally decides not to go because he got the message that nothing will ever happen with you again and he wants to be happy for you and not screw anything up.

but as the date gets closer, he gets more depressed because there is a lot that he wished he'd said to you. and the night of the wedding, he decides, fuck it, i'm gonna crash their damn wedding. who gives a shit.

a few shots of jack daniels in him, he arrives at the venue, pushes past anyone who gets in his way and enters the banquet hall right as you're about to cut the wedding cake.

he's sarcastically and drunkenly shouting at everyone, particularly at you. ranting about how it should have been him at that altar with you, him cutting the wedding cake with you.

you're absolutely mortified seeing schlatt like this,

"you really came here just to piss on our parade?" your now-spouse asks, shoving schlatt.

he tries to apologize as security drags him out of the venue, but you had no interest in hearing him out.

to think you wanted to forgive him for everything, but he'd just demonstrated that nothing had changed. he was still that same asshole you dumped long ago.
