just relistened to all of Arc 11: Off the Rails and man. I am suddenly overwhelmed with the urge to create a future storyline of the rebllion in the same style and vibes as Cas apocolypse AU for RotTMNT
I am not a comic artist lmao but man wouldn't it be fun

i have this with the fics I've written. some idea, a sentance, a concept, a scene, that just sits in my head. sometimes I'm lucky and it's a finished work. othertimes it's a wip and it make sit almost impossible to finish.
has anyone else ever had a fanfic that just... haunts them? like it's been months and maybe even years since you read it, but it just lingers with you and you can never truly leave behind the imprint it made on you? and maybe it's just a single line, one sentence that you can't shake off, that takes up residence in your mind and stays there, feeding into your psyche and subtly influencing your brainspace and maybe even your writing or other works?

My personal assignments for Termina characters as animals, my foundation for each of these is either genuine symbolism or simply vibes.

It's the same with New Zealand! And Wales! And everywhere actually! Language is fun and unique and different! There will always be something that sounds new and strange to you! Forget the idea of jibberish, accept the fact of the world is that not everything is familiar!
having to tap the "if an australian place name sounds strange to you please google it and make sure you're not just mocking indigenous languages" sign again

The Watchers in my AU are meant to be complicated and confusing. It’s part of why Grian stays for so long, why he’s so conflicted and why it bothers him to the point of venting to Mumbo.
They can be very kind, they do love him, they compliment him on everything. He gets gifts and everything given to him.
But on the other hand, bc they love him, they can be critical, telling him why that and why this, not that not this, they have pretty high standards for Beings that have seen everything already, not easy to genuinely impress.
They give him food, as parental figures should, anything he asks, but that’s sorta the problem, he always has to ask, there’s no way around this, no independence. He can ask for ingredients to cook by himself, but they’ll watch him.
He’s given clothes to wear, always within Watcher standard, dark and loose garments, open for his wings. He’d honestly prefer brighter colours, but that’s not rly a choice.
They tell him he’s special, he was chosen, better than the rest, a champion, a hero, and while it pets his ego, he feels pressure, they went out on a limp for him and he still can’t do enough. There is so much guilt.
Being here in the end messes with his psyche a bit, he’s much shorter than everyone, he has to rely on everyone, they all treat him like a kid, petting his hair or moving him via his shoulders instead of asking. He accidentally leans into this sometimes as a subconscious coping mechanism, he cries easier than he thinks he should. Tantrums where he has to press his face into his hands, or grumble and stomp off. He always has to apologize.
Despite being treated like a child, he is a Watcher child, so he studies a lot, he trains a lot. If he throws up from training, that’s no excuse (well by Flora’s standards)
He does feel a sort of comfort or safety around Aether, She’s lenient with him, but they’re definitely still not equals. She still hides things from him She thinks is too serious, She’s still overtly positive. He thinks abt Her sometimes, in hindsight he knows it was a family dynamic, and he feels guilt abt this too.
The Watchers love him, but they are ultimately overbearing, overwhelming, and frankly quite scary if you don’t play by their rules. Grian has reason to be cautious, the silent threats that hang over his head, never directly said to him, but traitors are cast out, if you’re not worthy you don’t deserve these gifts of wings or eyes. I think he’s convinced if they ever find him they’ll rip his eyes out with talons.
He won’t admit that he likes the attention sometimes, when his efforts are acknowledged and/or praised, when his hair is brushed. He wants their approval.
However, this is the only ‘human’ contact he gets. He doesn’t have anyone else, so it’s taken with a grain of salt how genuine his feelings are abt the attention.

You can tell a lot about a batfam fan based on how important to the character and narrative they think it is that Dick Grayson is sexy.

Devildom Durability
I think things/objects in Devildom are more durable by default cuz yk, demons. They're stronger than humans and need stuff to be long lasting to keep up with their naturally long lives. There's also the perk of something being pretty damn fireproof or resistant to acid. Heck, maybe even magic-proof to some degree. Clothes more resistant to wear and tear. Infrastructures being nearly indestructible unless someone went on a rampage and really went ham with both brute force and magic. Even the paper takes at least a century or two to become yellow from age!
Items being advertised to last forever and they probably ain't lying.
Which is good for a clumsy OC/MC! Oh you always drop your phone? Well don't worry, your DDD can take a hit from a sledgehammer and not have a single scratch! Pulled something too hard? Nah you just jiggled it a lil bit. Dropped something? Not a dent on the item or the floor.
The only thing you're in danger of breaking is your own fragile human bones 😀😄
And wouldn't it be so funny if a human OC/MC accidentally break something out of anger/adrenaline/excitement/etc...

The fact that my writing has visibly gotten better not just with practice but also with growing up and the experiences that comes with it.
Like I'm sorry teenage fic writers but you are not a prodigy you're just obsessed and you're doing great at the writing stuff but please remember you're not peaking. This is not your peak. And thirty is not old.
I just saw someone say AO3 is “gay teens writing gay shit” and I have no idea how to tell you that most of the writers you love so much are adults.

My most favorite NeuviFuri works are the ones where Furina is not treated like she's so fragile — where she has agency and the author properly protrays her as Neuvillette's equal as a ruler. Lbr if Furina was so incompetent, she wouldn't have stayed in power for so long, nor would Neuvillette have put up with it. We even see her qualities as a leader in her story quest and the latest event. That must've come from *somewhere* and it's definitely not only from her passion for the performing arts, but also from being an Archon for so long.
My theory is that while Neuvillette handles the day-to-day governing and making sure everything runs like a well-oiled machine, Furina handles diplomatic relations, negotiations in public-private partnerships, and *politics*. Neuvillette himself admitted that interacting with people outside court is not his forte, so Furina most definitely navigated delicate political scenarios for the both of them. That's also probably why Neuvillette got suspicious when Furina wanted his company when dealing with the Knave, because she would normally handle it on her own.

Big, scary, full fallen angel form Lucifer towering over and glaring down at you, cradling the wounded and unconscious form of his beloved radio deer in his claws, debating wether or not you should become a smear in the pavement
Except the scene would be written by an asexual so no you will not get your monsterfucker fantasies you will just be smushed because you hurt Alastor
ok bye

An anti-AA account posted a comment akin to "I'm tired of the fandom being taken over by sex pests who are obsessed with abusive relationships" in response to the AA kisses being optimized for evil route roleplayers. They were implying that we "bullied" Larian into "changing the narrative they created". (which is a whole other rant post on its own lol). And some others agreed.
Is... is this really how they see us? lmao
I am just baffled because so many loud Anti-AA people are:
constantly going on and on about how it's supposed to be an abusive relationship
constantly reminding AA fans of all the abuse AA supposedly does
writing fanfiction and drawing comics showcasing AA as an abusive partner to Tav/Durge
making absolute statements that AA is locked out of healing and only able to treat Tav abusively
making absolute statements that everything good AA says is narcissistic lovebombing and only everything bad he says (after Tav insults him) is to be taken as truth
only ascending him to get AA romance scene screenshots (with an "I hate AA but..." disclaimer usually attached).
thirsting after AA's romance scenes in general while condemning actually playing/enjoying the ending as a whole because... *drum roll* abuse.
brigading Larian on their Discord with messages to "protect their narrative" to drown out AA fans just asking for rp-friendly animations.
AND YET....AA fans--who actively avoid and reject the abuse narrative headcanon and enjoy AA as a whole and not just for the sexiness--are apparently the sex pests, obsessed with abusive relationships. Out of all the AA stories, comics, and things I've consumed from AA fans, none of it ever seems to include the abuse narrative or glorifing him solely for sexual reasons.
Huh...

There are little handles on the back of his shirt SPECIFICALLY to be carried around with. She's holding them through the cape.
(Batman used to hook a leash to them when Robin was smaller and was more likely to be distracted on patrol)
Really love any comic panels of flying superheroes carrying non-flying superheroes.
Superman carrying Batman is always good, but I'm a big fan of this panel of Supergirl carrying Robin from the first volume of World's Finest.
Tumblr media
In part because Supergirl spends a lot of this comic carrying Robin around and they're both pissed about it, but also because WHAT is she holding on to? Like, one can assume that she's maybe just holding on to the back of his costume, but with the way the cape and the back of his costume is drawn, it really doesn't seem like she's grasping onto the fabric there.

speaking as a textbook atheist who has never believed in a higher power of any sort, some of you really need to be normal about religious people.
Taking "religion" to mean Christianity and "Christianity" to mean whatever specific branch and church where you were traumatized by old White people as a child is inaccurate and self-centered. I firmly believe that religious trauma is real and serious and that no one who suffers from it should have to engage in triggering discussions of religion, but that is a personal right and has nothing to do with the morality of religion as a concept. Yes, people do horrible things in the name of religion, just like they do in the name of science and patriotism and many other ideals. Yes, religion (especially institutionalized religion) deserves a lot of criticism, but it deserves criticism based on the real-world harm it causes and not gut reactions of disgust.
For instance, I know plenty of scummy Christians who use their beliefs to justify terrible actions, but I know far more Christians who are vehemently feminist and anti-racist and supportive of LGBTQ+ rights, who respect both modern science and the natural world, and who I know have my back whenever I need help. It's important to criticize institutions of power, but please don't fall back on the same kind of awful, sweeping generalizations about religious people that like, TERFs make about men and masculinity, for example. You don't have to follow it or even like it, but you do have to treat your fellow humans as the infinitely complex and inherently worthy beings they are, no matter what labels they choose to use.
