Random writing tips that my history professor just told during class that are actually helpful

Download all your sources or print them so you can turn off your wifi

Give your phone to someone

Just. WRITE. Writing is analysing, you’ll get more ideas as you write. It doesn’t need to be perfect, for now you can just blurt out words and ideas randomly. You can fix it later.

Create a skeleton/structure before writing.

Stop before you get exhausted. It’s best to stop writing when you still have some energy and inspiration left, this will also motivate you to get started again next time.

Make a to do list

Work in bite sizes. Even if it’s not much, as long as you put some ideas on paper or do some editing.

Simple language =/= boring language, simple language = clear language.

Own your words. If they are not your words, state this clearly in the text, not just in the footnotes.

STOP BEFORE YOU GET EXHAUSTED. Listing it again because it’s easily one of the best tips a teacher has ever given me.

college is supposed to be a new start for danny: one in which his “work” life and personal life stay strictly separate. but when danny moves into his new gotham university dorm for the upcoming semester, his hopes are dashed. gotham is overflowing with lost souls, and they won’t leave him alone long enough for him to finish his damn physics homework.

when mr. and mrs. wayne offer him refuge in their old study, danny thinks he’d be stupid not to take it. he wasn’t expecting their house to still be inhabited, but whatever. he can blend into the background. he’ll do anything for some peace and quiet.

now if only he can convince martha to stop trying to out him to the rest of the family.

(belated) new pen alert + updating my 5-year hobonichi ! a few months ago, i got a lamy safari in the piña colada colorway. unfortunately, the EF nib was SO scratchy and awful, but i got a replacement nib and switched to a different ink, and it flows much better! it is not my favorite fountain pen but i do love how colorful the body is. i'm also behind on my 5-year hobonichi so i have been filling in past missing entries, such as my trip to copenhagen and stockholm last month 💆‍♀️ although not being a student anymore feels strange, i have so much time to catch up on my previously neglected journals :))

Megatron topping for so long until one day he's bottoming for the first time in vorns and he gets sparked! Bcuz his systems has adapted to the "no upcoming or immediate danger and need actions immediately situation" (in his vocabulary he's all domesticated although he sometimes fight different bots in a daily basis) so now he has an overly protective Optimus at his disposal that he somehow couldn't escape him following him around like a duckling following the first moving thing it sees thinking it's their mother-

So during one of their interface Megatron- who's lying on his back while Optimus keeps on giving steady poundings on top of him, between savouring and kissing his conjunx's well taken care and shiny plates, he tells Op that he needs less his fretting on him, they're okay, the sparkling's in completely healthy condition. But it seems Optimus contemplates a bit on that matter cuz of his sire codings were working overtime without his command (adding with his own worries to his conjunx since they both didn't expect Megatron would be the one to get sparked it doubles up even more) but he promised to be better in controlling it next time

They hadn't actually tell the Maltos about Megatron's carriage yet cuz it always not the right time to tell them, they have missions in between their short break for the day, G.H.O.S.T meetings that Megatron feels like endless. Seriously if it's not because he's tolerating with them because of the importance to capture the rogue Decepticons plus because of Optimus, he would rather recharge and spend some time with the Maltos (plus he still feel those twinges of strain on his back struts because of his fall. *winks* it didn't help that his tanks these days are sensitive and the overwhelming feeling to purge his insides, he needs to get that checked soon.
