Been watching Transformers Prime, and I gotta say, Starscream is so far absolutely killing me as a character.
His whole game plan is talking way too loudly about his evil plans, cackling evilly, and then the SECOND he feels threatened, he starts groveling and whimpering, "I'm just a little guy!!! I'm just a little guy and it's my birthday, you wouldn't hit a birthday boy, would you???"
And somehow this nearly always works

List 7 comfort films and tag 7 people:
I was tagged by the always ever-awesome @missoliverstark Thanks, hon!
Twilight
Tumblr media
Hey, man, don't judge me. 😐
😂 I can't explain it but, if I'm stressed out, I can put on the first Twilight and just chill. It is what it is. 🤷‍♀️
2. Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Tumblr media
Technically, the entire trilogy fits the bill but I've literally seen Fellowship several hundred times by now. I bought the Special Edition DVD set for Fellowship before I even owned a DVD player, lol! I eventually got to the point where I could not only recite the English dialogue, I could recite the Elvish as well. This movie has been burned into my brain and I wouldn't have it any other way. 🤗
3. The Mummy (1999)
Tumblr media
I'm not saying I've watched this movie a lot but... well, I wore out my VHS copy. The image literally faded out in places. It's one of the few, if possibly only movies that I own in 3 formats: VHS, DVD and Blu-ray. Considering how much I adore it, I'm floored that I've never actually vidded it yet. Oh well, there's still time; I mean, an Ardeth Bay tribute to "I'm Sexy and I Know It" would totally work, right? 😇
4. Ladyhawke
Tumblr media
This one has proved redonkulously hard to find a decent transfer on DVD or Blu-ray, so I haven't seen it in ages. That said, it's another I watched SO many times on VHS and it's definitely one of the formative movies of my life. 😍
5. Beauty and the Beast
Tumblr media
I enjoyed the live action version as well but I'll give it to the classic animated version for this reply because I've seen it more. 🤗
6. Godzilla vs Kong
Tumblr media
Okay, so is a giant radioactive lizard and a giant gorilla beating the stuffing out of each other supposed to be a comfort movie? Probably not but it's just one I enjoy watching when I want to kinda chillax, so... 🤷‍♀️😂😉
7. Star Wars
Tumblr media
Technically, Empire Strikes Back is the one of the original trilogy I tend to default to but I've seen A New Hope and Return of the Jedi a lot as well. Any of them just takes me back to a simpler time as well as reminds me where my love of fictional scoundrels comes from. 😉
Honorable mentions:
TRON/TRON Legacy, Labyrinth, Terminator/T2: Judgment Day, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and Warm Bodies. Yes, I have weird tastes and odd ideas as to what makes a comfort movie, lol! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️😉
No pressure tags: @coleishere @ghostslillady @authortobenamedlater @mrtobenamedlater @sarnakhwritesthings @helplessdreamersworld @fandomdancer @brianllama
And yes, I lost count but who even cares, right? 😛😂 Also, if you're reading this and would like to share your comfort movies, I'd absolutely love for you to! Please accept this as an official tag from me! *boops your nose politely* 💖🤗

i rlly like spiderman
- guy whos only seen ITSV, ATSV, Spider-man 1-3, TASM 1&2, and some of TSSM in that order. (me. im guy.)
personally not a huge fan of Tobey Maguire spider-man (i know im sorry) i prefer Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-man. i was very hyped the entirety of both movies and absolutely crushed and baffled by the end of 2.
for Spider-Man 1-3 it was okay and also the first live action spider-man films i ever looked into because i wanted to watch it in order. (i do not plan on watching Tom Hollands Spider-man series because even thinking about it makes me feel ill with emotions. and also i am NOT interested in the rest of the Avengers. i only like spider-man.)
i watched ITSV when it came out and i thought it was cool at the time but it didnt really spark anything for me. but then i saw ATSV. i saw ATSV and my entire world expanded. quickly became a lover of all spiderpeople. watched all the live action films(minus homecoming and no way home nor Endgame) and the ATSV short. havent read any of the comics or anything but do know some lore from wikis.
basically my knowledge on spiderman characters spans from all the ones that are actually in the movies ive seen. hell i barely know who ganke is, i just know hes miles’ roommate who knows he’s spiderman in ATSV.
also Spectacular spiderman is rlly very good and everyone should go look at it.

YEAHHHH I WANNA DO THIS
first exposure to tmnt was, i was 2/3 and my cousins were fishing out dvds in my cd stash and they found an old power rangers vs tmnt disc! then i started watching the older reruns of 2003 on cartoon network, and eventually the 2012 series aired!
my first exposure to 1987 might be soon after watching the live action (so i was like? 4-5), i checked out the old 1987 series. then my first exposure to rise was, well, i was awaiting the premiere! i was about 9 :D and my first exposure to mayhem? maybe the trailer i was already one of the first people in my town to know but i didn't get to watch it until earlier this year
first impressions, i like 1987 more than i did as a kid because when i was younger i was more into fleshed out and convoluted storylines but now i mean 1987 is the perfect background noise and it's very nostalgic. i was a little kid when i saw 1987 and at that point i'd already seen a lot of animated shows!!! 1987 couldnt really live up to the general expectations little me set, so it bored me a little. but i know better now haha. 2003 was little me's FAVORITE. i still hold it close to my heart. i was hooked instantly by the artstyle & storylines, they were still lighthearted like 1987, but more things were going on, and i could take it more seriously. 2012 was something that preteen me preferred mostly because it seemed grittier compared to the other iterations and my first impression of it was that its style was nicer than the 2 previous. rise, pretty easy, my first impression of it was that "it's kids stuff" that became some sort of a secret guilty pleasure. my friends would talk shit about it, i would also pretend i hated it, but i secretly loved all of the colors, the story, the characters, & especially the VA work!! AND I LOVE MUTANT MAYHEM. i never made it to any premiere, life happened, so i had to watch it online, but either way it was awesome for me and i'm already so excited for more content!
i mean. since i was like 2 years old? HAHAHA
the iterations that i have the most memory of are 2003 & 2012, even if i was there when rise premiered, i only really started taking rise seriously after the movie.
nope :') i never own any merchandise of anything, my parents don't get to buy me a lot of stuff, and i don't really receive gifts either. if i have merchandise, it was probably stuff i made myself. haven't made anything serious for any tmnt iteration yet!
favorite iterations may be rise & mayhem HAHA i love the newer experimental styles and the colors always blow me away. these newer animations are absolutely wonderful
i don't think i have a favorite per se but the one i tend to relate to the most is leo!!
OKAY. VERSION SPECIFIC, my favorite in 1987 is donnie, in 2003 it's leo, in 2012 it's mikey, in rise it's raph, and in mayhem it's leo!!
my favorite leo's probably mayhem's leo <3
RISE RAPHAEL IS MY FAVORITE RAPHAEL and i would go to WAR for her
favorite donnie might be 2003 but rise & mayhem come very close
i'd say i love all mikeys unconditionally no matter what,,BUT my favorite mikey is maybe rise & 12
2003 is arguably the best splinter. 2003 & mayhem.
I LOVE YOU RISE APRIL. RISE APRIL I LOVE YOU. rise april is my favorite girl
RISE CASEY. RISE CASEYYYY I LOVE YOU BUTCH LESBIAN YOURE MY BABYGIRL!
ooooh hard one but rise's shredder is awesome
favorite villain in general it's probably karai in 2012 AND karai in 2003. ok i lied. it's pimiko. i love her so much she lives in my brain
favorite ally is arguably also 2012 karai but that's lying. my favorite ally is sunita from rottmnt and she lives in my brain even more. ive created SO MUCH about sunita it's actually crazy. (caprisun ceo on twt)
THE BEST THEME SONG IS 2003 AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL
favorite story arcs are usually the kraang story arcs <3
hmmm favorite kind of pizza is. i mean im into what people would call the weird shit i think pineapple is normal but i like bellpeppers, onions, anchovy, anything can go on a pizza if you try hard enough.
favorite tmnt fic to this day is imperfect animals it's a rise!casey centered fanfic and it's a masterclass in character study if you ask me. that and the tmnt-atla crossover
favorite comic, CASS'S APOCALYPSE COMICS. I LOVE YOU CASS
tmnt au,,,hmm. not the most au person tbh i like to read things that Expound on canon. maybe it's the tmnt-atla crossover
username acidsaladd on twitter created The caprisun fanart that lives in my brain
i love to see renet. any time someone brings her back i'm like pumpin my fist in the air like YEAHHHHH RENET!! same reaction with mondo gecko. i have yet to experience this with pimiko but the day i do i'm jumpin out of my bed like a mario wahoo, YEAHHHHH PIMIKO!
i would love to see pimiko's character expanded more by fandoms and also sunita's character because i have so many ideas of her that i never have the time to properly write down
headcanon that sunita's got a lot of sensory issues actually because experiencing the world as a googlyscmutz is probably way different from the fleshy prison of human existence
i don't like the headcanon that the 2012 brothers abuse mikey
i always ignore the romance plots. mayhem is the only iteration where i haven't actively hated the romance
okay ive always drawn tmnt fanart but the most serious thing to me is, I Invented The Caprisun Rottmnt Shipname. it's me. i was the one who did it and i have the receipts. that's my biggest contribution and i just never make content of them enough for it to matter. but i was the one who coined it.
MY FAVORITE CONTRIBUTION IS THE SHIPNAME. OBVIOUSLY /j
i always draw rise sunita, rise casey, and rise april the most. i always write for them too. not a lot of them get published or posted but 90% of my catalogues are just that
MY FAVORITE RELATIONSHIP TO WRITE IS CAPRISUN. OBVIOUSLY . /j
i have never and i probably Will never be able to properly draw any shredder but i'm gonna keep workin at it
i usually write/draw for rise, but i've got fanart of mayhem in here (never to be found)
honestly i stick close to canon and i throw the stuff i don't like out. 2012? good, but i'm ignoring the romance. i keep important plotlines and i write around filler. if i diverge from canon it's usually as an epilogue, or it's me focusing on a specific pairing or character relationship
i don't really have ocs, i like to take existing characters from different iterations and insert them into a specific one, with my own take on it. ex, i've done so much for a rise!renet, rise!mondo, rise!usagi, before the frida reveal, i'd also done a lot for the 2 lost sisters in rise. or the sister and the brother.
*long suffering sigh,* All Turtles Have Tails. All of them. i just don't exaggerate them, i'm unfortunately particular with animal anatomy HAHA i encourage all whimsy for other people but i'm gonna stick here to my anatomically accurate designs. they are really cute though

hiya pooks, i wanted to get to know you more so i have a couple fun questions for you that include my personal answers! (i’m an oversharer)
1) fav media of spider-man?
i looooooove ultimate spider-man. i think it’s so over hated because the kids who watched spectacular grew up and were upset the next spider-man show was a kids show and not an adult show made for them. the fact that there just so much room for cameos from all other marvel media really helped me build a love for marvel as a whole. i wouldn’t know half as much marvel lore or characters without it since i never read the comics. (too poor to continuously buy growing up + can’t read comic panels over screen cause bleh. i think it was our first time meeting miles on screen too, which was awesome!)
it showed me who spider-man was at his core, a good person. and that’s what stood out to me. it also showed me that spider-man was super funny and always had a ‘quip’ lol. bonus points for ps4 spidey for being the first game i played of him and into the spider-verse for literally changing animation for the whole world. straight up best movie ever made.
2) fav media of dc?
gotta be the 2022 batman for me. i was so happy they finally got him right on the big screen! it took so long for people to realize that batman is only fear to his enemies, but hope to the people. they also count have picked a better catwoman! and the fact that the riddler is just some guy? mwah, perfection, amazing, incredible!
side rant; everytime i see someone mention how they thiugtt he robert patterson didn’t play a good bruce i wanna scream. how are we lacking so much media literacy nowadays that we can no longer recognize this is before he gets his whole playboy persona. he doenst even have financial stability! he’s literally just learning who he is. there’s deadass a whole scene dedicated to him trying to go into the club as batman and getting turned away vs being welcomed in as bruce and realizing bruce wayne has actual value to fighting crime.
3) fav non live action character?
sam anderson’s nova is so fun! he’s such a sweetiepie. i know earlier i said i don’t read the comics, but i do listen to them. i really wish they would put him in as teen trying his best with the guardians of the galaxy <3
klarion the witch boy is so silly (especially in young justice. his va is perfect for him.) he literally just terrorizes people for funsies. gotta love the lord of chaos and his cat.
hi hi! i just wanna preface this by saying a lot of media im a fan of i havent actually watch/read/played just because i cant truly sit down and consume content like i used to when i was younger. literally yesterday i watched the second deadpool movie after like, maybe 2 years since watching the first one (and i probably wouldnt have watched it if the new dp and wolverine movie didnt come out LOL) so i can't really answer these as efficiently as id like but ill try my best
fav media of spider-man?
before it would've been mcu spiderman simply because i havent watched the raimi or amazing spiderman ones, but now without a doubt i can say the spiderverse movies are my fav ones! all movies are pieces of art, but the spiderverse movies are truly by and for art kids. the animation and art is beautiful and i think the way it so artistically connects all things spider-man is really cool.
2. fav media of dc?
so... the last time i watched any dc media was when i was way younger LOL. i distinctly remember watching dc super hero girls, justice league unlimited, the flash (tv) and i think arrow (tv)? but like i said, i was young and don't remember much. ive seen from numerous people that the dc timeline is kind of a mess and that + the fact that there's so much content is what's keeping me from consuming it now. on the topic of batman 2022 there's literally nothing stopping me from watching it but i havent LOL i just cant sit down and watch it. i think the brainrot got to me rip.
i think what stops me from consuming content is the fact that i become a fan of it without actually participating. i read so much fanfic that i learn the plot of things through there, and because i already know what happens i dont desire to spend time and take it in. i might be cooked ngl. but anyway, no official favorite dc media from me
3. fav non live action character?
dude theres like way to many to name but one that comes to mind immediately is black cat (i dont think she's been in any live action from marvel yet?) something about those cat burglars man... LOL. i know this doesn't really count but i really like her portrayal in "Dark Matter" by mysterycyclone on ao3 (and amazing peter parker in gotham fic, highly recommend) i truly love the idea of the thief becoming friends with their crimestopper, because like catwoman, they aren't really hurting anybody (at least, from what ive seen)
as for dc... like i said i have not consumed enough media to pick LOL my bad 💔

wowie zowie, there are a ton of new trailers!!!
there are a ton of new trailers for things im looking forward to this year that just dropped, here's my thoughts on them!!
star wars: the acolyte
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the name of the game here is: cautious optimism. im being cautiously optimistic about this one because im more excited about new stories & characters in the star wars series rather than a reliance on pre-existing characters. idk, after the boba fett show, the obi wan show, mando season 3, & the ahsoka show, ive been worried about the state of star wars as its presented in shows (out of those 4, ive only ever seen 2 of them, & the quality seems pretty consistent across the board)
maybe the series just needed new names & stories to change things up. and i was initially excited for this one after it was announced to be part of the high republic initiative, an era of star wars we havent really seen in the disney canon yet. in terms of upcoming star wars content, this & the skeleton crew are like the only stuff im cautiously anticipating because of the wholly new content they're presenting
as for this show in particular, idk. ive seen people make fun of this (purely because of the recent battlefront rereleases reputation currently), but idk. this seems interesting, it seems like this one is gonna be more action packed than the slow lightsaber duels we've had in the most recent shows. and i like seeing a whole bunch of jedi together, im glad lucasfilms are getting comfortable enough to put a bunch of jedi in a scene together since the prequel films (theyve been slowly building up to this since at least the order 66 grogu flashbacks in the mando)
really, we'll have to see if this ends up being good or not when episodes start dropping in june
alien: romulus
Tumblr media
speaking of classic 70s sci-fi series, ever since this and the tv show were announced, ive been looking forward to a new back-to-basics approach for alien!! after living through the prequel era of the 2010s, it kinda seems like the series was stuck in a weirdly creative rut?? idk, i havent actually sat through prometheus, and alien: covenant i thought was. OK. it was OK, serviceable.
but hearing that the next film would be an early reboot of the series set closer to our time, directed by fede alvarez of 2013's evil dead, i was a lil bit excited. even if i may not like 2013 evil dead, the kills in that were really gnarly & sick!! im ready to see him bring that energy into an alien film!!
and from the one minute teaser we got, it looks fun!! it looks like a fun alien movie
i liked the wave of facehuggers chasing people around
i also liked how Orange this film is. compared to like the first & second films (alien is a very Green film to me, & aliens is a very Blue film to me), i'm glad to see how Orange this film is. whenever i think of the 70s, i think of Orange, so im glad to see this film use Orange to its advantage
speaking of 70s, i like how this film accurately recaptures the exact set design of the original film. that exact feeling of claustrophobia in an old space trucker ship surrounded by an unknown lifeform that could kill you, its really cool!! this & isolation were like the only two alien media that accurately recaptured the original films unique set design
yeah, idk what else to say, this looks like a fun, freakier alien film than i ever expected!! i hope the writing quality will match up, but even if it doesnt, id be down to just watching some really freaky kills in space

films for you ☆
film recs for comfort when feeling sad
mamma mia (108 mins.)
usually for me it’s enough to cheer me up or get my mind off sad things just to watch lighthearted films when i’m feeling down, and it’s always an added bonus if it’s a movie i have seen before - and i know your love for mamma mia is greater than that of anyone else i know so it came to mind first thing :) i also thought the music in the movie might be uplifting for the vibes and nostalgia ahh
20th century women (119 mins.)
because greta gerwig <3 and women <3 and both those things put together is comfort at its peak and it’s also said to be comforting, funny, and bittersweet all at once ??! one of my friends said it lit up their lives and yeah, i think you’d just like it maybe :)
bottoms (92 mins.)
this is the film by emma seligman that recently came out / is only out in select theaters but it’s essentially this silly fun campy stylish movie about bffs pj & josie starting a fight club to rizz cheerleaders lmfaoooo my description doesn’t sell it very well but! yes
the woman who ran (77 mins.)
full of women and cats (!!!) and just one of those quiet, simplistic films where the emotional undercurrent sneakily washes in
imagine me and you (93 mins.)
the og “never let your husband stop you from meeting your wife” film + cute romantic comedy!
café lumière (103 mins.)
a film where nothing really happens but whats cool about it is that it’s dedicated to yasujirō ozu (whose movie ‘good morning’ i considered adding to this as well, and maybe you’d like it too? :o) so it’s kinda in celebration of the routine and/or stillness of life and the beauty (and meaning) in ordinary moments
there are some really nice train and nature and city life shots as well that reminded me of you when i first watched so there’s that:) but just a caveat it’s either you might enjoy this or find it extremely boring btw hajshaja this also probably goes for most films on here bc i suck
the daytrippers (87 mins.)
that little miss sunshine meets the royal tenenbaums energy yessireerrrrr
cha cha real smooth (108 mins.)
i have honestly yet to watch this so i can’t give any real faithful summary but based on the premise and from what ive heard i think it might be a bit resonant for you? and maybe even be a little boost of serotonin?? will have to get back to u on this fs
scott pilgrim vs the world (113 mins.)
brie larson’s performance of black sheep is healing to the ears and soul ngl
luca (95 mins.)
this is a coming of age, animated movie that i think you’ll enjoy for a couple reasons! one is that it's a colorful, energetic slice of life movie. second is that even for a film that’s small in scale it navigates so much, like a lot of it is about identity and the anxiety and challenges of growing up and/or older, but is also about discovery and acceptance !! third it has so many heartfelt moments that almost reminds me of the last wish which i know you liked so :)
mystery train (106 mins.)
i was thinking a lot about what you said, that you liked films that are about the mundane, that don’t necessarily prioritize plot and action. hence why when mystery train made its way to me, i immediately thought of you :) knowing you enjoy wong kar-wai films, i think this will be one that you can’t miss! think of it like a more humorous and lighter chungking express <4
film recs for wallowing and/or Thinking when feeling sad
mistress america (84 mins.)
this one acts as a transition from the previous set of films to this new one in the sense it can technically be in either ??! but yes this is also a greta film :) it’s a bit weak in some parts of the film but has some heart in it too and some gut punchy scenes saurrr
tokyo.sora (127 mins.)
melancholy film about loneliness, friendship (or rather just connections in general), isolation, mental struggles, yknow all the depressing good stuff thrown in with really pretty visuals lol + i’d say there’s some sensitive scenes/topics here though so ! just a warning :)
columbus (105 mins.)
i havent finished the full thing yet, but there are scenes in this film where we get to just hear the birds, the cicadas, the score sweeping in as the conversation melts away, and there are these breathtaking shots of architecture and nature that just have this meditative, sweet, attentive feel to them
but i placed it on this list in particular because the characters and their flaws, arcs, and desires really drive the story. and kogonada somehow uses the sights and buildings in the film to be representative of the feelings and/or relevant to something internal within the characters and it makes all the emotional highs that much ?? better ? if that makes sense !! so yes that !! i think you’d really like this !!
la la land (129 mins.)
this is just if tbawy x blue lightning was a musical
my own private idaho (104 mins.)
sad and gay
frances ha (86 mins.)
sad and contemplative and Should have been gay (probably is anyway! we love subtext!)
my broken mariko (85 mins.)
a somber and sensitive rumination on grief, loss, and friendship - this one’s a bit on the heavier side so i perhaps only recommend this if you want something that fuels your sadness or if you want to maybe cry? but then i’d still advise to be careful bae
my life as a zucchini (66 mins.)
because who doesn’t want to cry over lumps of clay who just want to feel like they belong
girl picture (102 mins.)
i’d say this one is mostly for the vibes hahah like it has quite a skam feel to it that i think you’d enjoy. and i think on a bad day in a particular where you’re not feeling so great, this film could be one that helps you be a little invested in someone else’s thoughts, emotions, and life, and almost take a break from your own? :)
film recs for when you don’t want to do neither in particular but you’re feeling sad and want to consume something
this one’s on the more misc side so no descriptions, just the titles :)
the meyerowitz stories, new and selected (112 mins.)
but im a cheerleader (85 mins.)
shiva baby (78 mins.)
real women have curves (86 mins.)
happy hour (317 mins. <\4)
whisper of the heart (111 mins.)
breakfast on pluto (cilian !! + 128 mins.)
happy together (96 mins.)
midnight in paris (94 mins.)
the darjeeling limited (92 mins.)
high fidelity (113 mins.)
the green ray (98 mins.)
fallen angels (98 mins.)

barbarian (2022) ramble!
cw: SPOILERS!!, rape, murder, incest, strong violence/gore descriptions, this horror movie is rated r so :///
so---- ive not been able to shut up about this movie since i've seen it.. i have so many goddamn theories and this is prob my fav one.
i KINDA stole this idea from my friend who watched it with me, but we were both high at the time and neither of us rlly remember much about that convo so they gave me permission to post it here and go into more detail. tyyyy <3
so the backstory of this movie is that this guy, frank, would kidnap and rape these women, then rape their children and their children in the tunnels under the basement of his house. he kept them in cages, abused them, likely murdered them, all that fun jazz. and the main "villain" of the movie is the mother, the byproduct of all that incest and poor living conditions, etc. i put villain in quotes, not because i believe she did nothing wrong, but because i don't think she knew any better and although her actions were extremely fucked up and not okay, i can see the reasoning behind it.
the mother's first victim is keith, who she banged his head against the wall of a tunnel repeatedly until it was nothing but a pulp. then she screams at tess, and the story takes a twist without us rlly knowing what happens next because the focus is on aj.
and when aj, finally shows up in the basement, he's found his way into a pit where, surprise surprise, tess is alive and doesn't look majorly injured. the mother was so quick to kill keith, and if your mind went where mine did, you were probably wondering why the same wasn't true for tess.
tess's sympathy is another huge theme in this movie. going back to the basement to (try to) save both keith and aj, etc, so it makes sense that she picked up on the mother's habits, also shown when she calms aj in the pit and goes "if you get upset, she gets upset".
and when the mother comes along with the oversized baby bottle to feed them, tess graciously accepts the drink whereas aj refuses, leading to the breastfeeding scene after the mother hugs tess. it's so fucking creepy, it's disgusting and fucked up and i had to look away when i watched it.
but looking back, i can kinda see a pattern. i'll get to that later.
tess escapes the basement, and the mother is so close to catching her but when she gets through the window the mother recoils, cuz yk monsters can't go in the sun bla bla. the homeless guy who gave us one of the first jumpscares of the film helps her out and tries to convince her not to go back in there when she hysterically reminds him that ajs still down there. and when the cops are no help, ofc she heads back into the basement to save this douche.
and while aj is still in the basement, he runs from the mother and at some point, she backs away in fear, and aj walks into a room with an old man on the brink of death in it; this is frank.
time skip; now both tess and aj are out of the basement and homeless guy is telling them to stay put, not to go to the hospital until morning (aj had shot tess in the stomach thinking she was the mother), and that he knows all about the mother. she's been in that house some 40 years, and she's never gone into the corner they're at, he tells them before she jumps in, rips off his arm and beats him to death with it.
yk? that pattern im talking about? just hold on.
aj and tess run up to the roof of some building as the mother chases them, and seeing a possible escape, aj throws an injured tess off the roof, buying himself time as the mother jumps after to catch her.
aj goes back down with his gun, and finds tess on top of the mother, alive cuz she broke her fall. he apologizes profusely and says it was the only way, bla bla, and the mother (also alive) gets up and kills him by squeezing her thumbs into his eyes.
the next scene was to me, at first, disturbing. the mother cradles tess, calls her baba (baby), and tries to drag her back to the house as tess insists she can't, and ultimately shoots the mother and the last thing the mother did was kiss her fingers and press then on tess' forehead. the movie ends with tess stumbling away into the night.
now you may ask, where am i going with this? let me explain. all of the mother's victims, if i'm correct, were males. specifically, males she considered harmful, as she first tried to baby aj and only killed him when he proved dangerous to tess.
remember her backstory?
the mother was born in the basement, where her along with many other females were subject to god knows what frank put them through along with the forced breeding and births. it's only fair that she's scared of men to the point where she'll kill them the first chance she'll get. and when aj got closer to franks room and she backed away, she knew he was there and she knew he was still alive, and most likepy she knew what he was capable of.
this is probably me reading between the lines, but she was the only thing other than frank that survived down there. that was probably because she helped take care of the babies, she learnt from him and from the tapes how to do so so that he wouldn't kill her too. and even when frank was stuck to his bed, she kept that coping method with her.
"if you get upset, she gets upset", because if the babies were to cry or misbehave, or if they weren't letting frank hooha in their heehoos, he'd probably kill them. or worse. so that was how she'd force them to be good, so hopefully they'd stay alive and she wouldn't be alone down there, and also so franks focus wasn't on her. as fucked up as it is, it makes sense.
my sibling argued about "why'd she try to keep them in the basement then?"
well, she was born down there. in the dark. if she went outside in the day it would most likely kill her at that point. and she came to the conclusion that frank wasn't the only one of his kind out there, but she couldn't go with tess to protect her outside. so although frank was down there in the basement, so was she and she knew how to survive him. she was trying to protect her. in the most fucked up way possible.
thanks for coming to my ted talk :)

Anesthesia | Tom Hiddleston x Reader
Tumblr media
Pairing: Tom Hiddleston x Reader
Summary:  Tom suffers a serious car accident and the reader is the nurse on duty in the ER. Tom and anesthesia don't mix and Tom acts very out of character. Can Tom regain his composure or will he continue to shamelessly flirt with the reader? And is Benedict going to work all of this to his advantage?
Warnings: Car Accidents, Hospitals, Anesthesia Makes people act crazy, Tom quoting Shakespeare
-
“Tom?”
Tom’s eyes fluttered, and he blinked several times, adjusting to the bright white light.
“Nurse! He is waking up!”
Nurse? Waking up? Tom reached out and cold metal hit his hands. Safety rails. The air was cool, dry, and sterile. As he attempted to sit up, he felt a cold air hit his bare back.
“Hey buddy, lie back down. You gave us quite a scare,” the familiar voice reassured him as he lowered himself back down to the bed.
Tom turned his head to the sound and once he saw Benedict’s face he smiled. Ben smiled back.
“Welcome back to Earth, Tom.”
“Thanks, what happened?”
The last thing Tom remembered was climbing into the stunt car to rehearse the big action shot. After that, it was just flashes of fire, screams and sirens.
“The brakes failed and the stunt coordinator doesn’t know what happened. But the important thing is you got out alive.”
Tom attempted to sit up again and felt winces of pain throughout his body.
“What was the damage?”
Benedict looked down.
“To you or the car?”
“The car… of course me! I feel as though a Mack truck hit me.”
“You are not far off. You broke your clavicle, wrist, and a few ribs. Um… lacerations everywhere and a… a ruptured spleen.”
Tom twisted to see his friend’s face better and felt the stitches and bandages strain. He winced at the sharp pain on his left side. Benedict hit the call button and in minutes, the nurse arrived.
She smiled as she approached the bed.
“Feeling pain?”
Tom nodded.
She looked at your chart before adding some pain meds to Tom’s IV.
“That should do. I would suggest lying down and the doctor should be in about twenty minutes.”
Tom thanked her and couldn’t help but notice her gazing over her shoulder as she left the room. Her smile barely contained her giggles. Tom’s eyes widened.
“Do they know who I am?”
Benedict averted his eyes and rose from the chair, feigning interest in the generic artwork on the wall. Tom narrowed his eyes at the clear avoidance of the question.
“What are you not telling me?”
“Oh boy, you don’t remember anything when you got here, do you?”
Tom shook his head.
“No, what happened?”
“You were in a lot of pain. Tell me have you ever been under anesthesia before?”
“Maybe, once or twice…” Tom questioned, but then he stared his friend down for answers.
“What did I say, Ben?”
“You don’t want to know.”
“Yes, I do. Sit down and tell me, and I will decide if you live or die.”
Dejected, Ben returned to the chair and let a sigh out.
“I’m sorry, Tom.”
Four Hours Earlier
The gurney burst through the ER doors just fifteen minutes after you started your shift. Emergency room shifts are never boring but physically and emotionally draining. You put down your cup of coffee and headed in to assess the patient.
A man lied, groaning on the gurney. His face covered in scrapes and blood staining his ginger whiskers. His left wrist sat at an unnatural angle and his shirt cut away by the paramedics to administer help.
“Car accident,” the EMT relayed, “stunt gone wrong.”
A specific hazard unique to Los Angeles. They wheeled him to the examination room and put him onto the bed with care. He wore a C-collar, but the jostling stirred the man. His eyelids fluttered open and his blue eyes work to focus on his surroundings.
“Hey…” you looked down at his chart, “Tom. How are you doing?”
“Pain.”
“I know you are in pain, but where?”
Tom gestured to the left side of his abdomen.
“Okay.” You grabbed some morphine and added it to his IV. “Any allergies?”
He shook his head.
“Anyone come with you?”
As if on cue, Benedict pulled back the curtain.
“I did.”
You recognized the man standing before you. Benedict Cumberbatch was quite the movie star.
“Really?” You attempted to keep your cool. This was no time for fan girling.
Within minutes, Benedict could communicate the information about not only the accident but Tom’s medical history as well. It had all been on file with the production company.
The doctor came in and did a quick examination.
“We need to get a CT scan and X-rays. Looks like there may be internal injuries.”
You nodded as you prepared to wheel Tom down the hall.
“Ready to go for a ride?” you asked.
Tom nodded and gave a goofy smile.
“What’s your name?”
“Y/N.”
“Y/N, Y/N. That’s a beautiful name. My name is Tom Fucking Hiddleston.”
The drugs were doing their job.
“Nice to meet you, Tom. We will take you for some tests.”
“But I didn’t study!” he sounded dismayed.
You could not suppress your laugh.
“I think you will be fine.”
Tom grabbed your hand and looked up at you, tears in his eyes.
“Will you help me study?” he asked with a serious tone.
“Of course.”
Tom continued to babble on for the rest of the trip to imaging. He spoke about how nice you smelled and how pretty your eyes look. The full court press of flirting. As you reached the room, you and the other nurse lifted Tom onto the machine.
“Here you go.”
Tom grabbed your hand once again.
“Please don’t leave. I’m scared of the dark.”
While his words spoke of her fear, his eyes and smile said something else.
“Are you flirting with me, Mr. Hiddleston?”
His smile only grew.
“Is it working?”
You leaned in to his ear to whisper, “No, but the drugs are.”
Tom pouted.
“Not fair.”
“But you are cute.”
His face lit up once again.
“I came, saw and overcame.” Tom was being dramatic.
At that point, the other nurse started up the machine, and you walked away to let the rest of nurses to care for his needs. After his scans, you headed back to the waiting area. You found Benedict pacing the floor in anticipation. His long fingers alternating between steepling in front of his face and raking through his hair. As you approached, you cleared your throat.
“Yes?” his voice shared a tone of concern and hopefulness.
“A few broken bones but the big thing is that his spleen has ruptured. He needs surgery right away.”
Ben’s face fell.
“Will he be okay?”
You nodded.
“He will make a full recovery. Would you like to see him before they send him in to operating?”
You led Ben back to where they were prepping Tom for surgery. The anesthesiologist added drugs to the IV and Tom was now in a full hospital gown. His tattered rags of clothes in the garbage.
“No fair!” Tom bellowed as you entered with Ben throwing the thin sheet over his legs. The two of you shared a knowing look, “You have seen me naked but I have not had the chance to see you naked.”
You leaned into Benedict.
“It would seem that the medicine does not agree with your friend,” you smirked.
“Oh, I don’t know, I rather like him like this, so not proper. So not Tom Hiddleston.”
You smiled as you looked upon Tom who, in vain, tried to cover his body. Even loopy on drugs, he charmed and warmed your heart.
“I will leave you to it.”
As you turned to leave, Tom shouted at you.
“I love thee, Y/N. By which honor I dare not swear thou lovest me, yet my blood begins to flatter me that thou dost, not withstanding the poor and untempering effect of visage. And therefore tell me, most fair Y/N, will you have me?”
You suppressed a small giggle.
“I will see you later,” you let them both know as you shut the door.
As soon as the door latched, Tom grabbed Benedict’s arm and pulled him down close.
“Ben! Ben! Have you met my wife?”
Benedict screwed his face up with confusion.
“The nurse? That is just the drugs talking, Tom. You barely know her.”
“Nonsense. She will be my wife and you shall be my best man.”
Benedict looked at Tom with an exasperated face but Tom’s only contained earnest. With a chuckle, Benedict conceded.
“Very well, Tom. I will be your best man.”
Tom slapped Benedict’s shoulder.
“That’s the spirit. As my best man, I require you to acquire my future bride’s number.”
Benedict could not resist at this point to play along with his friend’s drug-addled fantasy.
“I will, on one condition.”
“Name your price.”
“Name your firstborn after me.”
“Consider it done.”
“Then consider the number yours.”
Tom’s face beamed and as if on cue, the nurses came to wheel Tom into surgery.
***
“Oh dear, God. I quoted Shakespeare.”
Tom hung his head and his face and neck turned a bright shade of red.
“Yep. The Henry the Fifth wooing speech too. Honestly, it was one of your better performances. Might I suggest doing all your roles drugged from now on.”
Tom shot Benedict a withering look.
“Ha ha. Very funny. I can’t show my face to her again.”
At that moment, the door opened, and you entered. The color drained from Tom’s face, while the smile grew on Benedict’s.
“Y/N!” Benedict cooed, “We were just talking about you. So nice of you to stop in.”
Your shift ended half an hour ago, but you wanted to check in on Tom before going home. Today was not the first time a patient hit on you, although they are usually not an award-winning actor with a penchant for quoting Shakespeare. But, you would remain ever the professional. You checked the chart before wishing the two men well.
As you turned to exit, Benedict walked you out.
“Thank you, Y/N for attending to Tom.”
“My pleasure. Even under the influence, he is quite charming.”
Benedict took this opportunity.
“Speaking about that…”
3 years later
“Tom!”
You yelled down the hall of your London home, beckoning your husband. At six months pregnant, getting up and down was no easy task. Tom rushed to your side. He gave you his arm and with a rocking start; you extracted yourself from the chair.
“Thanks, darling.”
“I am at your beck and call.”
You rubbed your swollen belly as you waddled your way down the hall. Tom followed you to the kitchen.
“Now about names for this little young man here.”
Tom grew ashen. He thought he could avoid this conversation, but it seems his luck had run out.
“Yeah, I have I mentioned today that I love you.”
Tom kissed your lips, and you looked at him with distrust.
“What have you done?”
Tom smiled and rubbed his neck, a nervous habit.
“I may have promised to name the child after Benedict.”
Tom flinched.
“You what? Why on earth would you do that?”
“It was for a good cause.”
“Which was?”
“Your phone number.”
With that, Tom took off down the hallway. You smiled as you walked with much effort behind him.
“We are NOT naming our child after breakfast food!”
You heard Tom’s laughter fill the house.

Another ask, if you have the inclination: I've just been rereading Reek III with all that entails, and Theon thinks about 'the son is just the shadow of the father' re Roose and Ramsay. Do you believe that Roose can actually be as bad or worse than Ramsay at this point? He's got to be worse than average and his morals very lacking, but it's hard to imagine us being made to abhor him more than Ramsay in the remaining books. Is it just Theon's terrified paranoia, or do you think it can pay off somehow? 🤔 Or am I misinterpreting that line do you think?
Do you believe that Roose can actually be as bad or worse than Ramsay at this point? He's got to be worse than average and his morals very lacking [...].
This is a trap, he is playing with you, the son is just the shadow of the father. Lord Ramsay played with his hopes all the time. - Reek III, aDwD
This is no man to jape with. You had only to look at Bolton to know that he had more cruelty in his pinky toe than all the Freys combined. - Reek III, aDwD
I believe quotes like these refer to the effect of the cruelty they enact, rather than the specific crimes.
Ramsay is vile and cruel, enacting heinous violence upon people like a slasher movie villain. We do not have any evidence that Roose personally inflicts the same degree of crass violence upon people, as even in his presumably candid retelling of the miller's wife story, while a horrifying and inexcusable crime, he does not reach the extreme level of violence Ramsay inflicts upon smallfolk on the regular with his hunts and torturings.
"Roose Bolton's cold and cunning, aye, but a man can deal with Roose. We've all known worse. But this bastard son of his … they say he's mad and cruel, a monster." - Davos III, aDwD
The point, i believe, is not who produces the worst feats of violence, but rather another facette of grrms criticism of feudalism:
Would Ramsay even have a chance to do these heinous crimes if his father, who knows about everything, had an ounce of morality in him?
[Roose:] "All you have I gave you. You would do well to remember that, bastard." - Reek III, aDwD
Everything Ramsay has, his high position, the freedom to do all the crimes he wants, the protection from law that would have otherwise sent him to the wall in no time, he has because of his father's selfishness. Roose could have stopped these crimes from happening, he could have given Ramsay the appropriate punishment, instead he keeps Ramsay around because he feels like it...
Roose is at the top of his society, answering to barely anyone except his overlord and his king; so much power is at his fingertips, and yet he uses it for selfish reasons, commits crimes, allows crimes to happen in full knowledge, and everything is handled as it benefits him instead of abiding to morality or law. Every crime Ramsay does is Roose' responsibility as feudal lord and thus his crime.
"When soldiers lack discipline, the fault lies with their lord commander," his father said. - Tyrion VIII, aGoT
Roose is called the leech lord, and indeed he is a leech upon society, bleeding his people dry to his own benefit while not lifting a finger himself. While he is not a literal vampire, obviously parts of his character are a play on vampire myths, and the aristocratic bloodsucking vampire is frequently used as a metaphor for critique of the ruling class (i hear Fever Dream by grrm plays with this, though i have not read it). He might not commit a Texas Chainsaw Massacre in person, but that doesn't make him any less morally bankrupt and despicable, and he still has the same blood on his hands.
There is a tendency where Roose tries to lighten his crimes in conversation - here are three examples showing different facettes:
"The arrogance of it! They do not expect the north to believe their lies, not truly, but they think we must pretend to believe or die. Roose Bolton lies about his part in the Red Wedding, and his bastard lies about the fall of Winterfell." - Davos IV, aDwD
[Roose:] "Tell me, my lord … if the kinslayer is accursed, what is a father to do when one son slays another?" - Reek III, aDwD
[Roose:] "The maesters will tell you that King Jaehaerys abolished the lord's right to the first night to appease his shrewish queen, but where the old gods rule, old customs linger. The Umbers keep the first night too, deny it as they may. Certain of the mountain clans as well, and on Skagos … well, only heart trees ever see half of what they do on Skagos." - Reek III, aDwD
1. Denial of involvement - Roose frequently either escapes blame completely (for example for Duskendale), puts blame on someone else (like blaming Ramsay's bastard blood for Winterfell), or lies about his crimes to evade blame.
2. Selectively invoking law - using the kinslaying law, he pretends his hands are tied when it comes to Ramsay, even though he could for example also send him to the wall as punishment. He frequently breaks laws as he pleases and also took part in breaking sacred contracts such as guest right (red wedding), so him invoking law in this instance is likely a tool to absolve himself of blame during the conversation.
3. Comparing himself to others to lessen his own acts, after failing to escape blame - by bringing the Umbers etc into the conversation, he tries to make himself look less bad; "look, everyone's doing it, and the skagosi are probably even worse than me!"
As opposed to Ramsay, he is aware of how the severity of the crimes he is doing would be received by others. He likes to present himself as a rational and civilized man, and thus has an interest to downplay his criminal actions, even if he does not see anything wrong with them as he did them for his own benefit.
"No tales were ever told of me. Do you think I would be sitting here if it were otherwise?" - Reek III, aDwD
"That annoyed me, so I gave her the mill and had the brother's tongue cut out, to make certain he did not go running to Winterfell with tales that might disturb Lord Rickard." - Reek III, aDwD
As the Mormonts were bannermen to the Starks, [Jorah's] crime had dishonored the north. Ned had made the long journey west to Bear Island, only to find when he arrived that Jorah had taken ship beyond the reach of Ice and the king's justice. - Eddard II, aGoT
The foolish Ramsay tries to pride himself in his crimes; Roose however knows of the importance of optics. He is aware that he frequently breaks the law, and tries his best to keep his reputation intact as to not attract unwanted attention; especially with an overlord like Ned Stark, who would not handwave any crime and would make sure justice is served.
From what we can observe, in my opinion the difference between Roose and Ramsay is that Roose doesn't see anything wrong with comitting violence as long as the result is of a benefit for him, while Ramsay additionally also commits violence because he merely finds enjoyment in inflicting it, violence for violence's sake. This is why Roose is able to control himself and always gives Ramsay the advice to be restrained, but Ramsay is unable and unwilling to do so and his acts are much more extreme. Roose is likely starting to realize this difference by aDwD.
Is it just Theon's terrified paranoia [...]?
I do also believe Theon's statement is fueled by paranoia, if you look at the entire context:
"I mean you no harm, you know. I owe you much and more." - "You do?" Some part of him was screaming, This is a trap, he is playing with you, the son is just the shadow of the father. Lord Ramsay played with his hopes all the time. "What … what do you owe me, m'lord?" - "The north. The Starks were done and doomed the night that you took Winterfell." He waved a pale hand, dismissive. "All this is only squabbling over spoils." - Reek III, aDwD
Roose is not necessarily tricking Theon here since it appears to be a correct statement; And he does have an interest to be on friendly terms with Theon (offering him fresh clothes for example) because he wants to make use of his position as heir to the iron islands, a goal he expressed as early as a Storm of Swords.
"Flaying Theon will not bring my brothers back," Robb said. "I want his head, not his skin." - "He is Balon Greyjoy's only living son," Lord Bolton said softly, as if they had forgotten, "and now rightful King of the Iron Islands. A captive king has great value as a hostage." - Catelyn VI, aCoK
"Serve us in this, and when Stannis is defeated we will discuss how best to restore you to your father's seat," his lordship had said in that soft voice of his, a voice made for lies and whispers. Theon never believed a word of it. - The Prince of Winterfell, aDwD
Note that here Theon does not believe him either, any trust he has shattered by Ramsay as well as Roose' unlikable personality. Still it seems likely Roose was really somewhat trying to be nice with Theon, because as he tries to teach Ramsay there's value in it:
"Power tastes best when sweetened by courtesy. You had best learn that if you ever hope to rule." - Reek III, aDwD
Do you think it can pay off somehow?
This is speculation, but i believe Roose' story is likely headed in the opposite direction - A Storm of Swords featured his greatest villainous feat, the Red Wedding, a showcase of cruelty and treacherousness. I do not think it will be followed up by an act of even greater cruelty; instead i think he will finally reap what he has sown.
Roose Bolton said nothing at all. But Theon Greyjoy saw a look in his pale eyes that he had never seen before — an uneasiness, even a hint of fear.
That night the new stable collapsed beneath the weight of the snow that had buried it. - a Ghost in Winterfell, aDwD
I believe the line about the stable is meant as a metaphor for his regime collapsing, as it is put directly after the line where he realizes the situation is growing dire for him.
It all seemed so familiar, like a mummer show that he had seen before. Only the mummers had changed. Roose Bolton was playing the part that Theon had played the last time round, and the dead men were playing the parts of Aggar, Gynir Rednose, and Gelmarr the Grim. - a Ghost in Winterfell, aDwD
Roose is likely going to continue the parallel with Theon as his arc goes steadily downwards. He is a foil to Ned; where Ned died but his legacy lives on, Roose will likely live to see his legacy crumble.
There is of course a possibility that he, when cornered, starts expressing more cruelty as a last-ditch effort. We saw the stable used as a metaphor for his rule in Winterfell; but there is another interesting detail about the reconstruction of the burned Winterfell:
Serve well, Lord Bolton told them, and he would be merciful. Stone and timber were plentiful with the wolfswood so close at hand. Stout new gates had gone up first, to replace those that had been burned. Then the collapsed roof of the Great Hall had been cleared away and a new one raised hurriedly in its stead. When the work was done, Lord Bolton hanged the workers. True to his word, he showed them mercy and did not flay a one. - the Prince of Winterfell, aDwD
Aegon the Conqueror had commanded [the Red Keep] built. His son Maegor the Cruel had seen it completed. Afterward he had taken the heads of every stonemason, woodworker, and builder who had labored on it. Only the blood of the dragon would ever know the secrets of the fortress the Dragonlords had built, he vowed. - Catelyn IV, aGoT
This is a crack theory, but perhaps Roose has something up his sleeve when it comes to the newly constructed roof of the Great Hall (a location that features extremely prominently through all of Theon's aDwD Winterfell chapters). Maybe he could make it crash intentionally to bury his treacherous allies or something like that...
I doubt however that he will do Ramsay-style extreme violence, i can't really see a reason and it doesn't appear to be his style. He seems more about cunning than flashy displays.
As always these are not PoV characters, so as long as we don't have a view inside their heads we can never say anything with 100% certainty.

helloooo! here are google drive links (pt1 + pt2) to my 4hr cut of the hobbit trilogy :-) specs n more details under the cut!
runtime is 4hr 9m (including about 4m of credits)
all scenes have open captions in english (either screen recorded from hbo or manually added)!!
i didn’t have access to the extended editions for this but i was able to find some of the extended scenes i wanted on yt (hence the portuguese and turkish subtitles on a few scenes which makes it a little messy with the english caps sry!!)
it’s split in two parts so i could get the quality up to 1080p but the parts are not like. two coherent separate movies its just one big guy
i basically did this for one reason which is that the hobbit movies r incredibly nostalgic to me and i love them but i avoided rewatching them for years because i have adhd and i just could not be fucked to watch 9 hours of cgi when i only cared about half of it. so here’s the half!!
this is heavily informed by the tolkien edit! i have my own criticisms of that cut (which is why i made one lmao) but i absolutely used it as a roadmap of what the story could survive without so credit where credit’s due
but forewarning because i made this specifically for my own use it’s very tailored to Me and my favorite parts of the trilogy! im a tiny bit of a tolkien purist bc i love the book very much and for aforementioned adhd reasons i always want these movies to move SO much faster than they do. but if there’s a scene that seems pointless it’s there just bc i like it and if there's a line that's missing for no reason it's just bc it annoys me :) however i Did try really hard to make this a good movie experience bc i have terminal film major disease!
here are the most significant changes i made if ur curious:
in general this cut follows bilbo/thorin/the company’s pov pretty tightly! it’s the part of the story that i personally care about most and it’s where the most coherent and interesting arcs are in my opinion!
i could not care less for peter jackson’s cgi action scenes so most of of them are trimmed significantly or sometimes just deleted. this especially applies to the orc chase/fight scenes..i simply cannot sit through the full six minute barrel scene again. the big smaug scenes and botfa battle scenes are also especially cut down
gandalf’s dol guldur plot is completely cut (including radagast, galadriel, etc); ive never liked how the extra lore adds such huge All Of Middle Earth stakes to the hobbit (that's not bilbo’s fight and it never was! he didnt know what he was starting when he started it and neither should we!) so i took the tolkien edit’s line on this one. sorry to galadriel but i know what gandalf was doing during dos i dont need to see it
crimes against the kiliel community: this is my most dudebro tolkien opinion but i have never loved the tauriel/legolas/kili dynamic and they have SOOO many scenes that i Personally just do not want to watch every time. i love the version of tauriel that lives in my brain but i do not vibe w the movie universe >:-( to that end both tauriel and legolas are almost entirely cut and you ARE allowed to hang me in the town square for this. im sad about it
bilbo's prologue scene is moved closer to the middle of the movie rather than introducing that info immediately in auj. i like having the audience find out about thrain and dale only once the company has seen the lonely mountain for the first time! idk if it reads as well as i think it does so lmk what u think!!
iiiii recut thorin’s funeral scene with hozier’s version of the parting glass. this is simply because ive always thought the funeral music was boring and i wanted to have fun! it’s one of the biggest changes i made to a specific scene so pls tell me if u have thoughts....it's at around 1:50:00 of part 2 if you want to skip
there are about 4 minutes of (incomplete) credits because sitting and listening to the last goodbye after botfa ends is a ritual <3
ummm thats it! if you actually watch any of this and you have thoughts please come talk to me about it!! i want to talk to you specifically!!

Ex Machina (we got like 1 murder + 1 implied/most likely to happen later murder but im not sure sorry lol)
Black Mirror (uh yeah sure black mirror has tons of murder and violence but are there cops in it really? i...dont remember many?? maybe its just me?)
Gattica (my favorite but also not enough murder sorry space boy lol)
Better than Us (russian tv show, on US netflix)
Futurama (lol im sorry for throwing this cartoon in the middle of a list of serious live action tv/movies lol)
Are You Human Too? (the kdrama. the feels mannnn)
Westworld (the movie is ok i guess, but the technology isn’t really shown/explored much so idk if i should add it :/ )
Westworld the tv show (i’ve completely watched the first 2 seasons and am currently watching season 3 which takes place in “the real world” bc some main characters have escaped the park. even if the plot is kinda dragging on/sucking, showing a futuristic city and people’s daily lives makes up for it lol. man i had the see-thru plexiglass self driving cars tho why lol its just so ugly lol)
Alien Nation (sure it has murder and cops and the sci-fi aliens, but can it really be put in there with these 22nd century set shows? i guess i can mark it as “immigration” themes in common with GitS and Psycho Pass (mostly in 3) but like really Alien Nation takes place in like the 80′s or 90′s when it was made so man i’m just not sure :/ )
Time of Eve (an excellent series/movie/ova or whatever asking what qualifies as human. however also given that this is a feels fill, overall chill atmosphere taking place in a cafe and not involving cops and/or murder, i’m not sure about adding it)
Nier: Automata (could YoRHA count as cops? can machines count as people? when YoRHA eliminate machines, does it count as murder? what qualifies a being as a sentient living person? hmmmmmmmm lol)
stuff i haven’t watched personally but its on my watch list
Humans (the british tv show with Synths/andoroids)
Real Humans (the swedish tv show that Humans(above) is based on)
Blade Runner (hides in shame for having never actually seen this sci-fi classic lol sorry)
Tron (ive actually already watched this, but its been so long i actually kinda forget the plot sorry lol)
RoboCop
Ergo Proxy
Nier: Replicant (also not a tv show/movie, but its on my game list. if only frickin fedex will give it to me. it’s lost in the mail, its been a whole month even tho i preordered and everything uuuuuuu D’: !!!!!)

Hey, I just read your post on ADHD/EFDD and was just wondering if you have read any research articles on this and if you have, could you tell me which ones because it all sounds super interesting and I need to choose a topic for my psych lit review and I’m thinking about doing something to do with all the stigma around and misconceptions about different mental health disorders.. it’s totally okay if not tho, I know it’s a big ask, but thanks anyway
That sounds like such a great topic!!! I would be HONORED to help :D
The first person I think of when discussing the term EFDD is Dr. Russell Barkley. He’s one of the leading ADHD experts, and has been a spearhead for studying executive dysfunction in people with ADHD for decades. Very much ahead of his time compared to the DSM. I’ve had his book “Taking Charge of Adult ADHD” recommended to me so many times, but have yet to read it.
Here’s some free stuff, though!
[reblogs appreciated because Tumblr hates posts with links and I wanna make sure this anon sees it!]
I tried to include some short stuff and longer stuff, some articles, images, videos, and comic recs, so you can choose based on your current energy and focus level :) I’ve also bolded links and key points of each source if you like skimming. Let’s go!
...................................
Here’s an interesting article/study on EFDD! They found that “ADHD [is] associated with deficits in inhibition, managing one’s attention, self-directed speech and rule-following, self-motivation, and even self-awareness [...] ADHD therefore involves deficits in self-restraint, [...] selfsensing and imagery, self-control of emotion, and self-directed play for problem-solving.”
Thank you for motivating me to look up some articles, because I learned some new things, too! For instance, they assert that ADHD could also be called SRDD (Self-Regulation Deficit Disorder), but conclude the article by saying either SRDD or EFDD fits better than ADHD, and that the terms could be used interchangeably, because SR (self-regulation) and EF (executive function) are effectively talking about the same things. So his assertion is that even if the name ADHD never changes, it can still be scientifically classified as either of the other terms. I believe in recent years he’s preferred EFDD more and more.
[note that the above article/study is from 2011, back when we were on the DSM-IV, so a lot of research has been done since then]
...................................
If that article’s a bit wordy or you want something more visual and up-to-date, here’s a really detailed PowerPoint presentation used during the 2018 ADHD Symposium! It’s long but well-organized so you can just read the big headers or you can read all the bullet points explaining it. Keep in mind this was a lecture, so some of it probably made more sense in person. I’m glad I read this, because I realize the terminology I’ve used is slightly off: according to the Symposium, there aren’t “subtypes” of ADHD, but the different names (ADHD-PI, ADHD-PH, and ADHD-C) are really just used to show the prevalence of certain symptoms in that individual. So they’re all terms for ADHD, but “subtype” was poor word choice on my part.
Oh! I just found a video of him giving a lecture in 2012 using many of the same PowerPoint slides! Here ya go! It’s a bit longer than the other videos I’ve linked below (13min), but it might make the slides easier to interpret :)
...................................
If you want a really short and basic overview, here’s a video explaining 5 main ways executive functions affect the brain and how they work differently in people with ADHD. [I put the video below as well if you wanna stay on tumblr] It’s from 2010, but it holds up. It only covers 5 big ones, so remember (if you can) that executive function affects EVERYTHING and the symptoms will affect everyone differently and at different levels.
This is just the most basic overview and a good place to start:
youtube
...................................
Here’s one where he talks about our Time-Blindness! (below) I was going to pick a couple favorite quotes to give you an idea, but that’d wind up being a transcript of the whole video because HE GETS IT. This is from 2014, but I CANNOT recommend it enough!!! He mentions that ADHD doesn’t have a deficit of attention, but rather a deficit of intention. He describes us as having a near-sighted sense of time, and talks about deadlines, “laziness,” etc.
ALSO he talks about how our brains DON’T CONNECT our knowledge to our performance (back of brain to front) like everyone else’s, so we have the same level of knowledge and intelligence, but can’t access and use it the way others can. This is why teaching skills and organization/memory/time-management tips isn’t helpful -- we can learn them, but our knowledge and action centers are separated, so actually doing them/sticking with them is just as hard as before.
If you don’t watch the whole thing, at least skip to 3:29 cause that part’s really funny and relatable (ok the whole thing is relatable):
youtube
...................................
And of course, I highly recommend the YouTube channel How to ADHD! I have a couple friends who work on it, and they REALLY know their stuff! (They’re the ones who taught me during a game night that RSD isn’t a real term and it should be called “rejection-sensitivity” as part of the emotional dysregulation umbrella)
I went looking and found this video (below) has the BEST explanation of it that I’ve seen in such a concise, entertaining way. I hadn’t seen this one before, but it even covers some of the things I mentioned in that post your ask is about! Especially the Internal Restlessness that I mentioned as the true “hyperactivity” we all share; even though some of us also express outward hyperactivity, both presentations come from the same restlessness in our brains.
youtube
^^^This has some great examples, visuals, animations, and different ways of explaining and thinking about our symptoms! If you want more about this, the description has a bunch of links to their sources! Jessica and everyone else who works on this channel is great at making the videos watchable for people with ADHD (even if we have to rewind sometimes)
Here's Jessica's official Twitter @HowtoADHD! (I was today years old when I found out that she follows me)
...................................
And if you want something REALLY short and simple, here’s a 2 minute animation comparing living with ADHD to trying to film a movie with a director who keeps falling asleep [below]
youtube
....................................
If you like comics:
My favorite ADHD comic artists are: ADHD Alien [@ADHD_Alien on Twitter and @adhd-alien on Tumblr]; Dani Donovan [@danidonovan on Twitter and @danidonovan on Tumblr -- we’re somehow twitter mutuals and she is such a sweetheart. She has some really good infographics, too!!]; ADHD Bri [@AdhdBri on Twitter and @adhdbri on Tumblr]; and dreamadept [@yume_dango on Twitter and @yume-dango on Tumblr]
They’re all well-researched, funny, genuine, intelligent, insightful, talented artists who depict ADHD in a very accurate and relatable way. Go check ‘em out and support them! :D
....................................
I’m gonna stop there for now, but PLEASE feel free to add on to this with other sources, questions, videos, thoughts, comic artists, etc.!!! Hope this helps someone out there!

Can you rec some media with canon queer characters 😌
ofc!! thisll by no means be an exhaustive list but idk what youre looking for specifically so ill break it into categories
my current favs!! if u follow me u know these already lol
the umbrella academy: netflix show abt dysfunctional superpowered siblings reuniting to stop the apocalypse. canon mlm character (pansexual according to his actor) w mlm romance, canon wlw character (lesbian according to someone on the show dont rmr who) w het romance in s1, wlw romance in s2 - this is one of my absolute fav shows at the minute in general its brilliant
the magnus archives: horror podcast abt the head archivist of an institute researching experiences w the supernatural. protagonist is canonically biromantic asexual, in a mlm relationship in s5, and there is another canon bisexual character, as well as (iirc) a canon wlw couple - yall know ive been so into tma lately its so so good, obviously if you dont like horror its not for you but if you do.. 👀
sanders sides: youtube series abt a gay dude working out his emotional problems via personified aspects of his personality. all the characters are gay cuz thas what thomas is baby! - i was hesitant abt putting this cuz thomas is a person not a character lol but if u haven't seen sasi i recommend it its like free therapy but theres songs sometimes
shows!
julie and the phantoms (netflix remake): musical show abt a teen girl rediscovering music after her mothers death w the help of three ghosts who were in a 90s band. canon gay character w a slow burn romance (not yet canon bfs but s2 lets go) - its very cheesy and the musical segments can drag on a bit but its p good overall
lucifer: detective show abt lucifer abandoning his rule of hell to buy a nightclub and beginning to solve murders w the lapd. lucifer is canonically bi/pan, as is his demon pal mazikeen, but queerness rly isnt a focus of the show its more casual rep - that being said its a good show overall, if a little predictable now n then (s1-3 on amazon prime, 4+5 on netflix)
kipo and the age of wonderbeasts: fantasy cartoon set in a future filled w mutant intelligent animals, kipo finds herself lost and has to get home w the help of her friends. canon gay character as one of the mains, canon nb side character - its a rly good cartoon! lots of fun, excellent soundtrack, and the main characters are all poc which is rly nice to see
the dragon prince: cartoon abt two princes and an elf assassin returning a dragon egg to its mother. canon mlm couple, several canon wlw characters, canon nb character - i havent seen the show myself but ive heard very good things abt it!
i am not okay with this: netflix show abt a teen girl discovering she has superpowers and hating it. protag is canon wlw (i THINK shes a lesbian but i havent watched it in a hot sec), developing wlw relationship - ianowt slaps! sad that s2 got cancelled but s1 is real good its a touch spooky and theres a bit of gore/blood so watch out lol
schitt's creek: sitcom abt a rich family who lose all their money and have to move into the motel of a town they bought as a joke. canon pansexual character and canon gay character w one of the sweetest mlm relationships - a rly good witty show w excellent character development for every character!
good omens: show abt a demon and an angel trying to stop the end of the world. every celestial character in it is nonbinary, + crowley and aziraphale have a nonexplicit (ie no on screen pda lol) romance - good omens is such a good queer show none of the characters care abt gender in the slightest lmao, plus the show in general is fantastic (the book is also very good)
movies!
the old guard: a group of immortals fight an organisation that wants to capitalise off their immortality. canon mlm couple - another one i havent seen yet (i will!) but apparently very good
it chapter 2: horror sequel to It, w the main characters returning to derry to defeat pennywise for good. canon gay character in unrequited love - i only say chapter 2 because his queerness isnt referenced at all in the first film, again its big horror and theres no gay romance just gay tragedy but its a good film
love, simon: romcom about a closeted gay teen falling in love w someone over emails. do i even need to state the rep? - honestly if u haven't seen love simon yet what are you even DOING its so good proper fluffy queer romcom, the book (simon vs the homosapiens agenda) is also really good!! so is the sequel (leah on the offbeat) where the protag is a bi girl + it focuses on a wlw romance
the way he looks: brazilian coming of age film abt a blind teen boy falling for the new kid at his school. canon mlm relationship - this doesnt seem to be on (british) netflix anymore so idk where youd find it with subtitles but i rmr liking it a lot!
games!
night in the woods: 2d platformer abt a young woman (well. cat) dropping out of college and coming home to live w her parents + discovering spooky happenings in her hometown. canon mlm couple and i believe the protag is canonically bi? - i will recommend nitw to literally anyone who will listen its one of my all time favourite games, deals w a lot of mental health issues and its absolutely gorgeous w a brilliant soundtrack and rly good dialogue thats witty and serious and realistic (its on steam + switch for sure dk abt other platforms, abt 15 quid i think?)
tell me why: adventure game abt twins returning to their childhood home + findin Secrets. canon trans male character - i havent got around to buying + playing this yet but it looks really good! (its in three chapters + on steam, not sure on price)
other media!
the art of being normal: slice of life novel abt a young trans girl discovering herself. main characters are a trans man and a trans woman. - a good novel! trigger warning for transphobic actions including descriptions of a transphobic attack on the guy, and its certainly not without its faults otherwise, but i thought it was pretty good
the adventure zone: dungeons and dragons podcast by the mcelroy brothers. idk specifics but theres a lot of canon queer characters in it! - i havent listened to taz yet but i know a lot abt it, inc that its good and funny and has plenty of queer rep
theres several more i like that arent listed here but to keep this from getting just ridiculously long ill leave it there :] tried to get a range of genres and medias, hopefully theres something for you in there!

I JUST FINISHED WATCHING CARMEN SANDIEGO AND I HAVE MANY THOUGHTS SO I HAVE TO SHARE
@sandiegocarmen this is all your fault /nm /lh
(written probably not in order bc i have a really bad memory,, and also: i curse a lot so be warned)
- first of all jules/devineaux friendship !!!!!! they're so cute he was so excited to be working with her again :*)
- GRAHAM GOING TO THE CHIEF ?? AND HELPING CARMEN !!!!
- i love him he just wants the best for carmen. i wish we could've seen more of their friendship and how they care for each other throughout the show
- SPEAKING OF
- THIS WAS THE SERIES FINALE. THIS WAS THE SERIES FINALE
- okokok back to that later because what the fuck
- jules looked so hurt that her girlfriend didn't recognize her im so sorry babe </3
- also carmen kicking devineaux's ass (again),, damn her fighting is ruthless when she's like this
- also there were so many julethief moments here. ALL THE LITTLE COMMENTS FROM JULES ABOUT "THE CRIMSON GHOST" SHE'S SO PROUD AND IN LOVE <333
- (and yet with all the julethief they didn't do ANYthing with it at the end,,,, but ill talk about that later)
- i was so scared for gray, carmen just fucking SUPER TASED HIM
- but he's so smart for that ?? he changed the settings ? genius. brilliant. talented. he thinks ahead
- and more dad shadowsan moments ?? adorable . i love his relationship with carmen,, a found family of criminals if you will
- now i feel like i should talk about the ending
- OKAY I WAS TRICKED
- FUCKING MISDIRECTED
- vile was taken down, gray was good, el topo and le chevre we're living a domestic life as husbands, carmen got her memory back, shadowsan was also alright, they found carmen's mother
- wait just a lil break to talk about HOW CUTE EL TOPO AND LE CHEVRE WERE . THE FOOD TRUCK . THE WINK EL TOPO GAVE . THEYRE IN LOVEEEEE IM SO HAPPY FOR THEM
- okay back to our regularly scheduled programming
- i was confused bc wth this is a great ending i expected pain
- AND THEN
- WHAT ??!?!!?!!
- HORRIBLE ENDING
- carmen left zack and ivy, her and shadowsan also split up, she never got to see jules, and gray also didn't wanna see her?
- WHAT THE FUCK
- WHY ARE WE JUST ABANDONING FRIENDSHIPS LEFT AND RIGHT
- I KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO SEE YOUR MOM BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN YOU HAVE TO DITCH YOUR FOUND FAMILY
- WHAT WAS THE REASONNNNN
- okay. calm :) . whoever wrote this i just wanna have a few words. maybe an explanation of the thought process that went into this
- i have to admit i did like seeing acme! zack and ivy and now i want to see their friendship with jules + devineaux BUT
- while i loved seeing zack's slicked back hair i would have preferred team red
- it's just such a nonsensical ending to have?
- like parts of it i get (carmen going to see her mom, vile being locked up, etc) but it didn't make sense for carmen to completely abandon all contact with her closest friends ????
- maybe i misinterpreted the scene and she didn't leave them forever (though the note made it sound pretty permanent) and they could've been friends this whole time still but,,,, why
- why do that why would carmen ever have to leave behind all the people she loves just to find her mom (they could literally come with her)
- and we know that carmen is very loyal. that's like a big part of who she is. so WHY
- none of this makes any sense my brain hurts
now to pick the weeds out of the field of canon,,, aka what i would keep the same in the canon in my head and what i would toss out (because this ending. did not happen. :) )
beautiful flowers that i will let stay in the field:
- el topo and le chevre domestic husbands <33
- gray being smart and surviving
- carmen going to find her mother
- shadowsan going to his brother
- i could accept zack and ivy being acme agents but only under certain circumstances which i will talk about in the next part
- im pretty sure that's it. everything else either sucked or i cant remember
now the weeds im picking out (what im changing):
- gray not wanting to see carmen. it does kinda seem like something gray would do (not wanting to complicate her life) BUT I WANTED TO SEE CARMEN BUSTING IN THERE like "no ?? you just saved me and i want to make sure you're okay you're not just gonna disappear from my life idiot"
- carmen saying goodbye to ivy and zack. (still not clear if that was a forever goodbye or ???) either way why split up team red :(
- and it also wasn't clear if shadowsan just completely abandoned team red as well,,, but if he did then no he didn't. i say he lives by his brother but still stays in contact with team red
- now about zack and ivy being a part of acme,,, i can accept this if the situation is carmen wanted to retire and they were bored + wanted a job fighting crime so they joined acme (and became best friends with devineaux and jules bc they have to approve of carmen's girlfriend)
- speaking of,,,,, whatever happened with jules and carmen (did they not see each other either, ??) they're actually girlfriends now and carmen commonly hangs around acme to help them with big cases and to spend time with her girlfriend (+ zack, ivy, and devineaux)
- also carmen and player's friendship,,, i just wanted to see them meet in person and hug each other but im glad they stayed in touch
and i could talk about how there should be another season or (because i get that they might not have enough plot for that) an animated movie to wrap it up a little better, and the fact that they're doing a live action movie which im,, not very excited for but ive worn myself out a little soooo final thought:
- WHAT IS HER GIVEN NAMEEE

My thoughts and opinions on the slew of recent trailers and announcements that no one asked for, but I needed to process all this information. These are just my opinions so don’t hate me.
Marvel:
WandaVision - Not very interested in this and it looks a little too trippy for my taste, but might watch it anyway to see Jimmy Woo and Monica Rambeau (and Billy and Tommy?)
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Easily my most anticipated of Marvel’s offerings. I was disappointed that it was delayed but it looks like it will be worth the wait! The trailer was epic. It looks like an action movie. I love Sam and Bucky, and their relationship and banter. Also I can’t wait to see my girl Sharon!
Loki - Not sure what to expect from this one and the trailer did not make things any clearer, but I’m just thrilled that Loki is getting his time to shine away from the Thor franchise.
What If? - Now that I’ve seen the full trailer I am actually quite excited for this! Also the animation looks gorgeous.
Hawkeye - I am not a fan of Jeremy Renner or what they did to Clint’s character in the MCU - hopefully this series will correct some of that. However the dog is adorable, Hailee Steinfeld looks really good as Kate Bishop, and I’m interested to find out what Yelena’s role in the story will be.
Ms. Marvel - From the brief clips we have it looks like a cute, heartwarming, and inspiring story. It has jumped to the top of my list!
She-Hulk - I’ve hated Bruce Banner in everything after The Avengers so I hope his involvement in this show is minimal.
Moon Knight - Not interested at the moment.
Secret Invasion - I was never one of those fans who felt like this story had to be adapted for the MCU and I liked what they did with the Skrulls in Captain Marvel, but I’m 100% for it now that Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn are involved!
Armour Wars - Finally giving Rhodey a leading role after playing pivotal supporting roles in a gazillion movies is long overdue. Sounds like an interesting premise. Will definitely watch!
Ironheart - Not very familiar with the character so I don’t have much of an opinion at the moment. Will probably watch though.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special - For some reason I have the feeling this is just going to be a Star Wars Holiday Special parody/rip-off.
I Am Groot - Will probably be cute.
Black Widow - I’m over it at this point. Was never really into it. Should have come out years before Endgame. Will only be watching for Yelena Belova.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - Admittedly was not familiar with the character prior to the announcement. I like Michelle Yeoh and Awkwafina though, and I’m interested to see what the movie does with The Mandarin (after the disaster that was Iron Man 3). No real opinion until I see the trailer.
Eternals - Would not be interested in this at all except for the fact that I like Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, and Kit Harrington. The cast is massive and star-studded to the point of feeling bloated.
Untitled Spider-Man 4 - Not sold at all on the multiverse/spiderverse, but the previous MCU Spider-Man films are among my favourites and I thought they both sounded like crap initially. Will definitely reserve judgement until I actually see the movie. As much as I adore Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, my wish for this movie is that we see a move towards more classic Spider-Man comic elements (The Daily Bugle and Peter’s photography, a mere mention of Uncle Ben, Harry and Norman Osborn, etc.)
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness - Not really interested right now.
Thor: Love and Thunder - Will likely not be watching. An unpopular opinion but Ragnarok was my least favourite MCU movie.
Black Panther II - Right now I am just eagerly awaiting any announcement regarding their plans for where they are taking this franchise.
Captain Marvel 2 - I loved the first movie, Brie Larson, and Carol Danvers. Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau appearing in this makes me so happy! Hopefully Goose will be back! The Ms. Marvel tv show seems to imply that Captain Marvel is famous enough as a superhero to have merchandise, so I hope this movie explains when and how that happened (presumably during the 5 years after the snap that we didn’t see in Endgame).
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - Very torn about this one. I really loved the first two movies, but my enthusiasm for the franchise has admittedly soured due to controversies involving certain members of the cast and crew. Will watch it, but not particularly bothered either way.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania - I am truly upset by the decision to recast Cassie Lang, perhaps to the point of being irrational. Hopefully I get over it because I have been looking forward to this movie for so long. The plot sounds good and I am anticipating much family cuteness.
Blade - Never saw the original movies and only know the character from Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
Fantastic Four - We all knew this was inevitable. Just give me a comic accurate Susan Storm and a teenage/young adult Johnny Storm (because if we don’t get Spideytorch content then what’s the point?) and I will be happy.
Untitled Deadpool - Not the biggest Deadpool fan, but the second movie was amusing. Will probably watch out of curiosity.
Untitled X-Men/Mutant movie - Not sure how they are going to integrate Mutants into the already very established history of the MCU. If they do go ahead with this movie I hope that it focuses on different characters from the 20th Century Fox X-Men franchise. Personally I don’t want to see Erik and Charles played by anyone else after Ian McKellan, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, and James McAvoy.
Star Wars:
Obi Wan Kenobi - We have Hayden Christensen! This is not a drill! Honestly I am so happy! He was absolutely incredible in RotS and he truly deserves all the love he’s been getting over the years. As exciting as a reunion between his Vader and Ewan’s Obi Wan will be, a tiny part of me is frustrated because I thought Episode IV implied that their encounter on the Death Star was their first encounter since Mustafar? I’m sure they will find a way to make it work, however. Deborah Chow is an amazing director. I hope they cast a young Luke :3
Andor - Definitely my most anticipated Star Wars project after Obi Wan Kenobi. Really excited to see more of life in the Rebel Alliance, and loving the sound of the “nail-biting spy thriller” angle. Glad that Genevieve O’Reilly is back as Mon Mothma. Keeping my fingers crossed for Jimmy Smits.
The Bad Batch - The animation looks stunning. Always interested to see more of the early days of the Empire.
Ahsoka - I don’t want it
Rangers of the New Republic - Not a lot of information except that it’s “culminating in a climatic event” with other stories, which sounds ugh. Reserving judgement until we learn more and see a trailer.
Lando - Awaiting more info. No word yet on whether Donald Glover or Billy Dee Williams will be back, but we can’t go wrong if either one (or both) are involved.
The Acolyte - Sounds like it could be interesting. Glad to see other time periods in the Star Wars universe being explored.
Star Wars: Visions - Will probably watch for pretty anime animation.
A Droid Story - Sounds like it will be cute, and I love droids so will probably watch.
Rogue Squadron - Unless it’s an adaptation of the EU Rogue Squadron, I’m not particularly interested. If we’re getting Corran Horn, Mirax Terrik, Tycho Celchu, and Wes Janson, however, then I am 100% onboard!
Untitled Taika Waititi Star Wars - Not a fan of Ragnarok as has already been established, nor did I like aspects of his episode of The Mandalorian. Can’t imagine that I will be interested.
Other:
Fate: The Winx Saga (Netflix) - This looks like a cheesy guilty pleasure at best and a dumpster fire at worst. I wish that Prince Sky’s hair was longer. W.I.T.C.H. would have translated better into live-action if they wanted to adapt a mid-2000s era cartoon.
Batwoman Season 2 (The CW) - This looks like a huge improvement from season 1. Judging from the trailer I think they made an excellent decision by bringing in Javicia Leslie. The character dynamics all look really interesting. My most anticipated CW show along with Superman and Lois.
